If you had to survive on only FIVE foods for the rest of your life, NOTHING ELSE, what would it be? This is whole foods, so things like "burritos" or "cheeseburgers" are not good answers. A good answer is something like "Bananas", or "Oats" etc, a whole food item. This can include something like milk as well.
You will develop deficiencies if you don't get the right nutrients, so what would you do, Veeky Forums?
1. Soy Milk (inb4 soyboy). Fortified with vitamins, good amount of protein and fat, B12, and contrary to what people may think, actually reduces the estrogen in your blood (phytoestrogens don't negatively affect your blood) 2. OATS, what more to say, one of the best carbohydrates ever. 3. Spinach, highly mineral dense, best bang for buck in terms of micronutrients 4. Black Beans (High in iron, fiber, protein etc) 5. Avocados (High fat, plenty of calories and nutrients)
What would you do, Veeky Forums, you're on an island, five food items only, what do you choose?
>soymilk soymilk isn't a whole food, it's processed garbage water with vitamins and minerals added
>no meat eggs or dairy Hope you aren't a poor beta-carotene converter or else you'll suffer from pretty severe vitamin A deficiency, not to mention iron, calcium,magnesium,b-12,omega3s, protein
Spinach literally has vitamin A, iron, calcium, magnesium.
Soy milk has B12. Beans, Oats, Soymilk have protein.

Woah mama I didn't realize Kale had that much, though it tastes like you're eating a decorative plastic plant.

i love this idea, like try to cram as many nutrients in as possible.. hmm i guess
>salmon (omegas/other fats and protein) >beef bone marrow (insane calorie content/crazy nutritious) >sweet potatoes (gold standard carb/vit A, good K and Mn) >spirulina (superfood defined) >blueberries (tasty snack/nutrient dense/sugars)
Firstly absorption of spinach is piss poor, and you have to eat absolute fucktons of it to meat any of those requirements. If you aren't genetically a good beta-carotene coverter you can kiss that vitamin A goodbye.
Beans and oats are incredibly hard to eat in high calorie amounts and you'll be shitting yourself all day if you try.
Again soymilk isn't a whole food if it has shit added to it, so that B-12 is bullshit because it isn't actually a part of "whole" soy milk, it doesn't fit OP's criteria.

Not for any particular reason other than being my favorite sources of macros. The watermelon I need because it tastes so good and I'd probably die without watermelon balls. Also, could someone explain why anyone would pick milk alternatives over milk (besides being vegan)? Not memeing, just curious.

what kind of psuedo science bullshit buzzword is that? Some flavor of the month fad diet jargon that you heard about at whole foods before spreading it to the hippy commune you live in
