One thing I am super excited about the RPG is it will give me ideas for custom scenarios on the table involving dark ops.
Aiden Flores
So what do you anons think the gencon release will be?
My money is on a second starter, Yu Jing vs Haqq, since Angel is painting models for both factions in his seminars.
Ayden James
And both of these could use an update to their starter packs.
James Wood
I wanted to post what my ITS Hassassin list will look like with the suggested changes from the previous thread
Jeremiah Sullivan
Hm, do you think if they've made a second two-player starter like that, would they discontinue Icestorm or keep both? With 8 factions they could easily do 4 two-player starters. Although PanO and Nomad starters are very close in term of points and power, but an Ariadna starter on it's own would be rather underpowered IMO, while an ALEPH one could be too brutal.
Andrew Kelly
Ariadna would only be underpowered if you try to go with traditional swarmy mentality. They have numerous models in the 25-35 point range, especially from the Kazak side, that would bulk out the box to Nomad/PanO starter levels.
For example 3x Line Kazak 1x Scout Ojotnik 1x Tankhunter PAC 1x Veteran Kazak AP Rifle
Comes out to 127 points and 1.5 SWC. It definitely emphasizes Ariadna's ability to punch hard while fighting dirty. If anything it might need a few tweaks downward. There is the added benefit of it being a perfectly legal starter for either Vanilla or Kazak, much like the current CA starter.
Lincoln Williams
They'd create a second starter and keep Icestorm in production. After all, Icestorm does just contain the normal starter packs plus two additional minis, and other stuff they sell seperately. It doesn't hurt.
I suspect our next box set may be coming soon. Possibly even GenCon, as the paint lesson for the last two years were Fusiliers (icestorm) and Grunts (USAriadna). Now this year, it's some Haqq Models...
Perhaps this is the release of a YuJing vs Haqq box set? As the YJ basic Zhanshi are by far, the oldest and worst infantry sculpts still in the game...
Charles King
CA vs ALEPH might be an interesting box set.
AI Rumble in the Jungle
Camden Scott
Speaking of YJ
>want to run Imperial Service sectorial >still want to use Tigers and Jaguar bot
The only thing preventing me from going YJ is knowing that if I choose one, I'll pine for the other.
So I'll just run NCA
Anthony Baker
looks solid.
Brandon Roberts
Su Juan is in IS.
Thomas Bell
Oh, so it is. But muh Tiger
Angel Price
Run vanilla then. Links are great but they aren't the end all be all, and if you want to run the Su Jian and the Tiger then you have better things to spend orders on thank a link team anyway.
James Baker
I wonder what the life of a bounty hunter in the HS is. Joining military operations is probably the exception rather than the norm. I'd read a book about that.
Josiah Young
Probably very well paid and short lived. Given that she's riding on gold wheels, and has hair ready to get caught in them...
Robert Edwards
I wouldn't worry too much. Imperial Service staples like the Kunag Shi, Rui Shi, and Hsien are very commonly used in the General Yu Jing lists as well.
Christopher Hall
Or you can just use him as the Garuda or something, assuming you are using the kill versions anyway.
Sebastian Collins
I notice that Multispectral Visor L2 ignores all levels of Camo. Does this mean he automatically discovers camo'd units?
Jaxson Carter
no, only msv 3 does
Jace Roberts
No, MSV3 does. With MSV2 you simply roll WIP with no penalties. Even with MSV3 you still need to declare Discover though. You just don't roll for it.
Asher Clark
Thanks for clearing this up. I was doing some research and holy shit
>Svalarheima Sectorial
I am jizzing my brains out at the idea of this. The bolts are my favorite Pano Unit visually but I don't really like their playstyle. But I would go nuts for a Nisse based Sectorial
Kevin Williams
I don't play with or against msv3, how does it work?
Caleb Jenkins
Like with any discover, you make a WIP roll. You need to roll 20 or less on 1d20.
AKA, automatic.
It still eats up half an order to do however.
Parker Williams
it's the half order thing I wasn't clear able, thank you
Zachary Brooks
Now cover mods apply as well, so it's effectively -3 to discover unless you are within 8 for some reason.
Makes MSV 3 still ridiculous even with the 'nerf'.
Hudson Bailey
Help me, I don't know what I'm doing.
Jaxson Garcia
Have a source for that? Wiki still says "automatically passes."
Nicholas Adams
user is referring to msv 2 i think
Elijah Green
Nah, he refers to a msv3 nerf.
Add another aggressive piece and make sure there are 10 orders in the first group.
Jack Flores
hows this?
Zachary Jones
>Nah, he refers to a msv3 nerf
Nah, other user is right, you have misunderstood.
The post is:
>Now cover mods apply as well, so it's effectively -3 to discover unless you are within 8 for some reason. This is asserting that cover mods apply to discover rolls so even with MSV2 you will rarely get a flat WIP roll
>Makes MSV 3 still ridiculous even with the 'nerf'. This is asserting that, even because MSV3 was nerfed so that you still have to discover things, it's still an amazing upgrade over MSV2 because MSV2 is still mostly rolling at -3.
Alexander Harris
What the hell is a drop bear?
Jordan Foster
Its an anti-personal mine that can be thrown
Nathaniel Miller
Forgot the pdf, but I'm doing the Onyx Contact Force boxed set. I keep running the points and I'm always 2 points over 300.
Jackson Stewart
Oh hey I didn't know you could do that. Here's mine. I also desire C&C
Xavier Torres
Same as a lot of mercs in a sense. What with the Guild and all. They do seem to get stable employment with the IS though.
Eli Jackson
Perhaps a more sensible list.
Ryan Young
>Bolt Lt what exactly are you guys trying to do with these list?
Alexander Clark
please refer to >Help me, I don't know what I'm doing.
Leo Campbell
all right
You need to understand that NCA will have a low order count but all the cool tool. try this list
Ian Thomas
>Low order count >not typical auxilia + fusilier spam
Luis Harris
> auxilia spam that shit is straight garbage and is meme teir list and probably that one guy played. > fusilier spam Fusilier Core lists are really only played when you are going to run a Squalo or go really heavy on Attack Remotes.
Nathan Roberts
The best Neoterra players I have seen never bring more than 2 Auxilia or 6 Fusiliers.
Spamming 10 of either is a crap list that has a ton of things that can stomp it.
Henry Young
I can see a Tohaa bike like unit riding specialised symbiobeasts.
Jackson Morris
Can't bring 6 fusiliers as NCA :(.
Kevin Miller
Hey new to infinity and just ordered models but i fucked up so i wanna know for the future. In terms of points, i wanted to start a 150 pt list first arensome lists under or iver by 1 or 2 points? Is that ok? I made a mistake not looking at the 2 swc of the sas lieutenant and now I cant use him in my original 150 group, but i can in a 100 pt list, only the 100 pt list is technically 98 points could opponents agree to still allow him to be in the tecnically 98 pt list with 2 swc?
Julian Thompson
>running a 98 point list with 2 swc
yes, that would be fine. going under is fine, but don't go over. if you build a 100 point list, you can have up to 100 points and up to 2 swc. it doesn't matter how many of those points you actually use.
of course, you can generally proxy and make a unit a forward observer or paramedic and use up those two points.
Brody Mitchell
Made a different list with the drones being a repeater and the other being a hacker.
Ian Baker
Unless you indigo or bipandra
Camden Fisher
Looks good.
Parker Turner
How the dink are you supposed to pin these figures? They're so small and delicate, and I keep drilling in the wrong spots. Especially that one female Fusilier that's so petit, and it feels like there's no good place to pin anything without ruining the model.
Would a bit of green stuff be able to adequately replace pinning for these guys?
Robert Flores
you don't need to pin them
Justin Russell
Quick question:
Would these minis work well as chasseurs? I need some more and I'd like to stop proxying is all.
If are having trouble gluing them in place, try scoring the contact point before putting the parts together. You could also switch to a gel type super glue.
Justin Bailey
I'm not really having trouble gluing them in place, I just thought pinning would be good to reinforce the models rather than having to deal with it down the road. I was also already scoring them. Perhaps pinning might be a bit overkill.
Christian Evans
They look pretty good. I'd use them if I ran MRRF, they look very close to scale too and probably fit in well with the old sculpts.
Ian Hill
11 extra points 0.5SWC for 1bs and 1wip... Nah.
John Sanders
The SWC cost is the breaker. Otherwise Bipandra is pretty solid, especially when you consider that the only other linkable doctor PanO has is a Knight Hospitaller. I've used a Fusilier link with Bipandra last game and having an escorted doctor and a light shotgun proved to be very useful. I wish they updated Dire Foes profiles though. Yasbir is now more powerful thanks to Holoprojector buff and unlike other Holoprojector 2 units he has not seen a points price increase. Similarly Bipandra's SWC cost is a holdover from N2.
Joseph Powell
Compared to what? She's 10 points more than a trauma doc, and in exchange she's tougher, has better WIP and gets a shotgun. The BS is the exact same.
Fuck that SWC cost though. Maybe viable in a link, but otherwise it's not worth paying SWC for a doctor.
Hopefully the DF guys will get an update before the next book. It's hard to tell when it comes to these things, the Mexicans can be incredibly inconsistent.
Gavin King
Depends on the model. I, for one, didn't pin fusiliers.
Mason Scott
The cat bot is ISS
Easton Gonzalez
No she's obsolete now. She had some use before HSN3, and would make it into most of my lists. Before HSN3, Hackers were more liability than not, because they would break from the fireteam. So Bipandra was the 5th member of a Fusilier team in NCA. Now hackers no longer break from the team. Also Black Friars, cheaper Bulleteers, and Hexa KHD are all in the same price range.
That's just NCA. She's even less useful in Vanilla and MO.
Carter Martinez
not happening, ice loser.
Varuna will finally get the respect it deserves, and we will drink your icy tears
Jason Jones
Svalarheima is happening. Just later. Winter Force is coming.
I'm curious to see what Varuna has to offer. Linkable Kamau might be good or they might be trash.
Aiden Reyes
Snipershot bump. Wu Ming?
Lincoln Sanders
So what's happening first Varuna or Svalarheima? I'm going to get both anyway since both sectorials sound cool but I'm curious.
Grayson Foster
No one actually knows.
Joseph Nelson
definitely Wu Ming
Carson Cooper
We can't be sure, but probably Varuna. Word is that CB is going to combine Paradiso and Varuna into one sectorial, and if that's the case then they'll have more units to work with. In addition, YJ's Invincible Army is likely to come out before Huang Di and it would make sense to release both Svalarheima sectorials together.
Eli Howard
Well, Croc-men are sort of Varuna/Paradiso hybrid already.
William Garcia
So i've been watching batreps to get a better feel for the game and I come across these guys.
Are they playing the game right? The bolt team has a BS of 19 and 2 burst on AROs which just seems wrong. Not only that but there's lots of little stuff they're overlooking. I mean, maybe I'm wrong since I just started playing.
Elijah Adams
Having a link team comes with a couple of bonuses.
A link team of 3 gives the link leader a +1 burst during the active turn and the whole team a +1 burst during the reactive turn.
A link of 4 gives everybody in the team Sixth Sense L2 and a link team of 5 gives a +3 BS to the whole link.
Bolts have BS13 + 3 for the link team bonus + another 3 when they're in a positive range band, so the numbers are correct.
Brayden Hughes
fuck me that's a lot of mods. I did not know fireteam bonuses were cumulative
Blake Hall
They also gain +3 WIP to discover rolls in a 5 man link. I forgot about that one.
Bentley Morris
Just remember all mods cap at 12.
Sebastian Lewis
My money is on Varuna and Invincible Army next.
I think they will do both Svalheima sectorials together.
Gavin Hughes
Probably the Wu Ming panzerfaust.
Blake James
Big gun, little hand... Kaauri Sentinel maybe?
Jaxon Brooks
Definitely Wu Ming PF.
Logan Ross
Whose dick do I need to suck to get the RPG finished already
Dicking around on the character builder, while fun, can only get me so far
Kayden Long
Also every time I roll a dogface he ends up dead
Jaxson Bell
r8 my color scheme
Alexander Cooper
Wish I knew what the actual transformation did. 3 points is steep for a slight buff to certain observation checks, and a somewhat passable melee weapon.
Carter Perry
Not so gr8, m8
The blue of helmet clashes too much.
Samuel Ortiz
I like the brown and blue, but that neon blue is a bit clashing, I agree. I still like the general pallete though, minus the hair.
Austin Diaz
Bolts are built for ______
Aaron Ramirez
Butt shots, and I'm pretty sure SB would agree.
Brody Parker
I imagine bonuses to brawn and agility, maybe 1 extra momentum when using those skills
Ryan Reyes
Hows this for ya?
CB*
Dominic Brown
Wu Ming HRL, you mean.
Grayson Hernandez
Paint a model. That's the only way to see if a scheme looks good. They're metal, they strip well enough.
Landon Long
But Bipandra is not a hacker. Also I really like that she has a shotgun.
Xavier Miller
Considering in MO Trauma-Doc and Machinist are listed as Father-Doctor and Father-Engineer respectively, what are the chances for a MO-based Support Pack?
Cooper Garcia
....I think you missed the point. Before HSN3, in NCA, Fusiliers are AVA5 and the Hacker would break using supportware. So many used him solo while Bipandra filled in for the 5th man in a Fusilier fireteam as well as being a Specialist/Doc. Now Hackers dont break so Bipandra no longer fills that hole.
Light Shotguns are good and Bolts have them too; They're also in the same price range as Bipandra but with +1BS, +3BTS, Bioimmunity, Veteran L1, a little less MOV, and doesn't cost you .5 swc unless you're paying for support weapons.
Christian Jones
No, I got what you meant. But you can get many other Hackers, with NCA giving you Devas on top of PanO ones. Yet PanO is a bit strapped for Docs and Bipandra is at least somewhat competent.
And you can't put a single Bolt in a Fusilier link. We're going for a fairly cheap link here, so outside Spec-Ops Bipandra is a pretty good combo, aside from the SWC cost. In lower point games she's pretty good, if you dare to use Fusiliers a bit more aggressively.
Gabriel Roberts
If we're going for a cheap fireteam, Bipandra is not the answer. Fusilier FOs, Hackers, and Paramedics are far cheaper while still filling that ITS specialist role. Trauma Docs are 10pts cheaper that her and be safer with Palbots. None of those options are 24pts and .5swc.
The point I was making with the Bolts (and Hexas KHD, Black Friars, Bulleteers, etc etc) is that they're all in the same mid-points price range. Bipandra doesn't compete well against those options. Her stats are competent, but her price is not. I used to field her regularly but now she's just a nice Trauma Doc proxy.
Jeremiah Peterson
I use Bipandra + an Indigo to run a 5 man Fusil fireteam in MO.
John Richardson
Awesome.
Adam Reed
What do you do when there's no specified spec ops?
