Old art thread

Hot chicks edition.

Post old art back from when Fantasy used to be lewd. Also, you can and should post modern takes on that. Tasteful stuff, no shit.

...

...

...

...

Bisley makes my dikk diamundz! His art I mean, not the man himself. Although he might be moe as fuck, I've never met him, how would I know?

...

That one in particular is fucking great

I always wanted my art style to be more like Biz, but somehow I've drifted away from it in the last decade or so. I reckon I outta follow that dream

...

...

Not old, but hot chick

>anime sword

It's not only the sword, but the armor and a lot of stuff. I don't care, it's a nice piece of art

...

Here you go OP

Bonus points: both girls are underage

...

These golden coasters glued on female nipples are the dumbest fucking idea ever conceived by mankind. I don't mind the gratuitous nudity at all: in fact I think it has it's place and feels like a logical extension of the use of female nudity as an aesthetic element that is present to classical art. But for fuck sake, if you want nude girls, draw NUDE GIRLS. Don't hide the fucking nipples behind a completely non-sensical, out of place and stupid looking golden nipple coaster.
Tit's have been part of what is considered to be some of the most tasteful and well regarded fucking art in history, why the FUCK are were we so afraid of it now. And if you are prude or afraid of prudes, then draw something that at least makes some fucking sense: it's not like there isn't a lot of actually sense-making sexy outfits out there.

>why the FUCK are were we so afraid of it now
Cause we don't want to be called misogynists and have women complain endlessly

...

Because the fucking RRRRULLLLES forbid female nipple as nudity and artists want to push the envelope of sexyness as far as possible without crossing the black line.

Bitchpls, this was put in place by old codgers long before modern feminism.

>golden coasters glued on female nipples
They are not glued, they are held in place by piercing. Friend has them (although not made of actual gold) and it's neat and a lot of fun.
But it's not something you would take into combat or any action adventure, because if you pull at them too hard, they will tear out.

Some of us find body jewellery like that beautiful and exotic. It accentuates the wearer, and leaves the viewer hungry for the few portions that they hide. Because honestly, sometimes, leaving a little bit concealed looks far better than having everything hanging out on display.

...

...

...

That thumbnail REALLY looks like she's riding a giant penis.

>Cause we don't want to be called misogynists and have women complain endlessly
Hard an explanation considering that it's these chainmail bikinis and titty-coasters that are driving the feminists up the walls, not to mention that most of this art long predates the silly second/third generation crusades.

Which is completely nonsensical on many, many levels. There are hundred ways to actually make a female figure clearly sexy without having to invent these little stupid things while still not showing nipples, and there are also hundred reasons why not to be afraid of nudity, as it is and always was a commonplace in art.

I can assure you that whatever your friend has, it's something that has been created to mimic these kinds of art, not something this kind of art actually picked up on. As far as I can tell, there is no actual historical precedence for these... things.

And this extends to Body jewelry can be indeed beautiful. This is not body jewelry. This is a piece of metal glued to the nipple, or fucking pinned to it with a safety pin or god knows what.

I fucking love all these thick physiques on women. Why isn't today aesthetics more akin to this?

...

>Boris Vallejo
Master of lighting and skin textures

>as it is and always was a commonplace in art.
Not during the murrican puritanism it isn't.

...

I have huge folders of Frazetta, Vallejo, Bell, Royo, etc. i fucking love the stuff.

...

Bisley is probably my favorite comic book artist. Did he ever do any work on any cartoons? I know he did some art for a few video games.

...

...

>I'm retarded
We can tell

...

You OK? Did you have a stroke or something? Should we call help?

...

...

That looks a bit like Bruce Timm, actually.

That's a pretty lame comeback, user.

I'm a little embarrassed to be in the same thread as you.

...

>golden nipple coaster
I laughed

...

...

...

>Post old art back from when Fantasy used to be lewd

You're looking at it backwards.

Fantasy wasn't lewd, nerds just hadn't turned into a bunch of talibans in a misguided attempt to seem more legitimate yet.

People are falling all over themselves trying to be the most offended about OBJECTIFYING or IMPRACTICAL inbetween all the murdering and stealing and other morally uplifting activities they do in game.

I blame D&D for turning filing all the edges off it's source material to turn it all into colourful sludge safe for kids, and really every fucking nerd who tries to hide their perversion by joining the witch hunt.

>Chainmail bikinis are silly you guys, it's so disgraceful, no place in modern gaming, really we are better than this, safe and positive environment for everyone, brb, my download of Gaping Meat Holes Anal Orgy finished, I'll just take 2 minutes."

Macbeth?

Uhm, pretty sure it's returning. Fashion/modelling industry is starting to lose its influence, black and hispanic culture is becoming more mainstream, people are developing a broader sense of taste, etc. Basically what I'm saying is that men are allowed to like curves again.

Besides, with the advant of the internet, who needs mainstream avenues to rely on their fap material?

About right.

>Niggerdry and beanery becoming more mainstream

As if the population of the world needed to be even more retarded... banksters have got to LOVE such servile people.

>he doesn't like golden pasties

Shit taste lad.

>Why isn't today aesthetics more akin to this?

Aren't they though? It's not like booty is some kind of underground thing, and have you watched any mainstream (american) porn lately? Penty of pornstars with big thighs and butts.

Sure, if you go by fashion magazines or whatever, women are skinny, but who cares about those except women?

shit was lewd, women weren't allowed to express opinions about art

Lewd means offensive in a sexual and blunt way.

Cheesecake fantasy art is not lewd unless your definition of proper involves a burka.

> Gaping Meat Holes Anal Orgy

Glad I wasn't the only one downloading that. Felt a bit weird for a moment.

>Women weren't allowed to express opinion about art

Jesus dude we're talking about fantasy artwork here, it's not like we're discussing shit from the era where they beat up women who demanded the vote.

One of the most iconic fantasy artists is a woman, and she does just as much nudity and oiled up abs as anyone else. Even more since she learned it from Boris.

>Julie Bell

Pic related is her. She IS what she draws. Woah.

Don't worry, if you immediately go out and like some bizarre feminist rant on facebook you cancel it out so it's okay.

Jesus guys, shit wasn't lewd.

It's just that we didn't have enough retards yet to gain traction for the idea that it's weird for a hobby dominated by young guys to be full of hot women.

When I was a kid I had a poster on my wall of some playboy centerfold with her tits out, so did lots of my friends, and girls had posters of whatever boyband heartthrob was the most popular and literally no one ever mentioned it because fuck, I was a 14 year old boy, OF COURSE I'm going to have tits on my wall, in my comics, in my books and in my movies and whatever. It's a miracle I didn't have it in my cereal too. Toni the Titty Tiger. Milk does a body good!

But the fucking millennials grew up with instant porn access everywhere ever, and it became something super private that you never told anyone about despite literally everyone watching it.

People used to think that guys enjoying some T&A was just normal (weird, right?) but then the generation of fucking perverts who knew more hentai labels than they knew girls started to pretend like sex didn't exist, until they got home and could crank one out, and now we have a society where people feel like they have to defend hot women in media aimed at 15 year old dudes, because those dudes just clam up and start sweating if you ask them if they think that shit is okay, and then they run home and google Ass to Mouth for the millionth time.

>She IS what she draws. Woah.

Lies! Strong hot women would never want to depict strong hot women in art or pose for photos, only whores do that! I mean, people brainwashed by the patriarchy! She needs to let herself go, I mean, learn to love her body as it is. I mean, as it would be if she had more cake.

There is a God and He is right and just.

Goddamn that is a fantastically well drawn form. Clearly inspired by classic greek sculpturists

Or she got inspiration from looking in a mirror.

>>Chainmail bikinis are silly you guys, it's so disgraceful, no place in modern gaming, really we are better than this, safe and positive environment for everyone, brb, my download of Gaping Meat Holes Anal Orgy finished, I'll just take 2 minutes."
This has fuck all to do with objectification and whatever misguided pseudo-Marxist conflict theory bullshit you may see in it (one way or another, because really both sides of this arguments are exactly the same at root).
It's about it being pretty fucking bad fiction. There is a place for gratification, for power-fantasies, for archetypes and tropes and all that stuff, but even those can be done in a more elaborate and sophisticated fashion. Chainmail bikinis are stupid. Under virtually no conditions can they be transformed into meaningful narrative element, they exist for the purpose of tittilation and tittilation exclusively, and very frequently at the expense of other narrative aspects of the fiction.
I have no issue with sexuality and particularly idealized forms of female beauty in fiction, as I've said I think it's something that dates back to classical art, but it can be done well and smart, and it can be done poorly and cheaply.
I don't see why people are so hellbent on demanding poor fiction, and I can fucking ASSURE you that not everyone who takes an issue with cheap sexualization does so because he adheres to some nonsensical and moronic Frankfurt-style moral dogma.
Some would just like to see art with a little more thought and class to it.

This is why I hate a lot of neo-80s stuff. It's either ironic as fuck ("hue hue look at how stupid everything was") or reactionary as fuck ("LIKE + SHARE IF YOU WANT FEMINISTS TO LEAVE OUR GAMES ALONE").

There is none of the unironic sincerity that truly characterized 80s media.

>Some would just like to see art with a little more thought and class to it.

I completely agree.
plate mail bikini > chain mail bikini

...

...

...

>art that looks completely shit
>it's gonna come back because muh oppressed fantasy nerds from Veeky Forums like it enough

hoo boy

The problem with your point of view is that it just decides that people enjoying a bit of T&A is somehow bad.

It has fuckall to do with you having higher standards of worldbuilding, the iconic chainmail bikini characters was deliberately flaunting her femininity because she was in fact supernaturally gifted at fighting (as in, a god just made her awesome at it" but added the caveat that she could only be with a man who beat her in a fair fight.

IT WAS NEVER PORTRAYED AS OR MEANT TO REPRESENT SENSIBLE ARMOUR, so all you're really left with is objecting to a COMICBOOK character walking around in a bikini, like it's somehow weird for the target audience to enjoy that.

It's such a fucking non-issue until someone goes from saying

>This isn't my thing

To saying

>This isn't my thing, so there must be something wrong with it and it needs to change in this and this and this way.

If a normal person dislikes something, they find something they like better, because demanding that something with a following changes to appeal to the person that doesn't like it is obviously retarded.

And then there's people like you, who just see something that's not meant for you and decide that it's badwrongfun and that if you don't enjoy it, others shouldn't be allowed to either, so it needs to go.

>Some would just like to see art with a little more thought and class to it.

I wonder if these people realize that their call for "realism" and "class" is just a golden mean fallacy trying to appease both nerds and feminist puritans. Alternatively they are feminist, just trying to hide it.

Either way you're a faggot.

...

>The problem with your point of view is that it just decides that people enjoying a bit of T&A is somehow bad.
Not entirely, which you would realized if you actually read anything I wrote instead of projecting your old insecurities. I don't think T&A is bad, I think it can be used better. And yes, I do think it's entirely valid to deem one thing better than the other. Complexity, richness, thoughtfulness, meaningfulness are virtues, there is no way around it. Don't worry: you paranoid morons have been raised on the stupid notion (native to the same doctrine of thoughts you are so eager to bash, by the way) that it's all about some power-struggle, and that some evil people are trying to oppress you and take your naked ladies away. No, shitty and indulgent fiction will always exist. That does not mean we should consider that a good thing, and that we should not incentive the medium to aspire to better works. It's not a new notion, in fact this would be considered a common fucking sense in every culture at every point of history except for our postmodern shitfest, where people can't differentiate between aspiration and challenge, and evil oppressive political plot aimed specifically at YOU.

I know it has not been meant as sensible armor you mongoloid. Much like this cretin , you are utterly unable to differentiate between realism and meanigfulness. I know what it is meant to represent, I merely claim that it could represent that BETTER. In less cheap way.

Nobody says it "needs to go" either, though I doubt you will ever understand. We merely claim that it's not very good. In other way, we urge people to look into what could be and how it could be improved. Notion that makes you curl up in fear, because nothing in the world is more terrifying to you than the idea that somebody reminds you that you may not be perfect yourself, that your taste is not perfect, and that you could always stand to improve and refine yourself, your views, your taste.

She obviously normally wears a larger bikini.

...

> Notion that makes you curl up in fear, because nothing in the world is more terrifying to you than the idea that somebody reminds you that you may not be perfect yourself, that your taste is not perfect, and that you could always stand to improve and refine yourself, your views, your taste.

m8 you're trying hard

...

>tumblr nose
>huge head
>terrible toon proportions
>ugly clothes

wew

...

Same difference considering were it came from.

But I thought it was Veeky Forums tradition to ALWAYS use coasters?

Besides -tumblr nose- (I've no idea what you mean) the rest is true to any weeb art.

God damn Buff Birdmen stealing out hot redheads!

>"I'm sorry, my darling! Our love can never be!"
>"CAW!"

I can only imagine that magnificent creature is screeching The Star-Spangled Banner at the top of it's lungs.

>the rest is true to any weeb art
And? It still doesn't make the art less shit.

>Not every takes to hating chainmail bikinis through some frankfurt-style moral dogma

>here let me preach my frankfurt-style moral dogma.

Post fantasy art that you find good then?

because I assure you, it's shit.

So they'll show full bush but nipples are a no-go? Weird.

Just cause she isn't nude doesn't mean she can't be hot.
