YO, TURRET GUY >COMMENTS ARE APPRECIATED THEN TURN THEM ON, FUCKLECHUNK!
Adam Jenkins
Asking again here; how do we figure out using the giant robots in 'mixed' fashion?
They're worth too much for standard WBL (BP*20gp maybe, but probably no less) but are also not enough to eat equivalent class levels on their own.
Lincoln Bennett
I'll be honest, this is my first time using google docs, I have no actual idea what I'm doing.
Aaron Cook
If people aren't interested then don't use them, spastic.
Jonathan Rodriguez
When you select your options to share the doc, there's one that says "people can view/comment/edit". Change that to "people with the link can comment."
Jaxson Perez
IMFUCKINGPOSSIBLE. YOU MAY AS WELL ASK HOW YOU CAN BALANCE ONLY ONE PERSON HAVING MAGIC ITEMS. SPOILERS: YOU CANNOT
SET IT SO ANYONE WITH THE LINK CAN COMMENT BRO
Caleb Collins
Just hit the blue share button, go to advanced options, and then select 'everyone with the link', it should ask what they can do, and you can select comment.
Zachary Rivera
fixed.

You guys haven't even seen the Atomic Warlock, the Chessmaster, the Architect, the Croupier, the Henchlling, the Guide, or my particular favorite the Multiman. Wait until QANON comes back befre deciding which class is the craziest.
My favorites from Gonzo 1 are the Living Bomb PrC (Allahu Snackbar), the Toon (for playing Bugs Bunny) and the Punk (parkour based Dragoon ie, gains extra damage by juming up and falling on enemies, and has a spray paint tagging breath attack and an at-will ghost sound personal soundtrack)

Anyone know the logic behind requiring a +1 enhancement bonus to add on special abilities? Some 3.5 oldfag explained it to me at one point but he quit my group and now i forget.

And that magic items that are beyond the standard +stats still need to be balanced around the fact that EVERYONE is going to have them instead of just one person?
I get the distinct feeling you just showed up to stir shit without actually knowing anything. Here, take another anime reaction image to get upset about and leave.
Blake Sanders

Jack Harris
Actually it does lock out and replace certain magic items.
Someone with just a mecha instead of a class would be *weaker* than the rest of the party.
The book itself states that the problem with someone having it is that they'd also have all that money (WBL), which is of course unbalanced.
However this is exactly the kind of thing (like much of this book) where half a group will go "MUST HAVE NOW" and the other group will never even get into one, so in order for any of the system to ever work, we need some kind of equivalency.
The lack of one, in this case, given their own explanation, is "Banning Weapon: Price +5, Cost +2" levels of whoopsie.
Now help me calculate.
Joshua Ortiz
So how the fuck do the mecha rules even work?

"All gaming systems should be terribly flawed and exploitable if you want everyone to be happy with them. This allows for a wide variety of power levels for games for different levels of players."
While PoW isn't as flawed and exploitable as the rest of PF, having stronger options is good for it. Every single one of the full initiators is overpowered; if you want sane games play with the archetypes.
Christian Bailey
>crafting abuse
Oh yeah, that's definitely what broke the game.
Daniel Watson
Mechs have a 'level' and build points, along with basic stats for their frame (think 'race'). You're in total cover when in them, so they give a layer of health, etc.
You then buy fucktons of abilities for them, deciding the engine (how much power per round you have), legs, size, weapons, etc.
Main balancing issues I could find for user's 'mixing' are that their *starting* base frame HP is very high, with the assumption everyone is in one of these and they're quite tough. That would need to go down.
The Build Points are 'by level' which is a different issue; it has no direct GP equivalence, and you can't use your WBL to upgrade the thing either - so as to not give cloaks of protection, etc to the mech... unless GM allows it (but in that case you don't have it when outside of the thing).
They come in different flavors like mechanical, necromantic, abberations, etc.
Personally I think it would have to limit the pilot to NPC wealth if you were to mix the two, and definitely can't start at level 1 with one due to the health.
Main drawback is of course that if the thing gets trashed, you're screwed, and repairs will be incredibly expensive (fixing constructs) without magic, as well as long.

Corrosive Bolt Optimization Primal Earth: +1 Damage per die to Earth/Acid spells Copper Dragon: +1 Damage per die to Earth/Acid spells
If Crossblooded/Wildblooded are ruled not to stack, only one of them applies. That means damage goes down by quite a bit.
Blood Havoc: +1 Damage per die to bloodline spells or school spells with Spell Focus
FC Sorcerer (Dwarf): +.5 Damage per level of Sorcerer VMC Admixture Wizard: +.5 Damage per level Blood Intensity: As Intensified Spell (nonstacking), but adds up to CHA mod in dice
Turns out I misread my own notes: damage at 8th is actually as follows: >Normal: 5d4+23 (Primal Earth 5 + Copper Dragon 5 + Blood Havoc 5 + Dwarf 4 + Admixture 4) >Blood Intensity (CHA 16+) adds dice up to CL, so total is now 8d4+(8x3+8=32) >Empowered adds 50%, so +4d4+12 (only damage dice bonus counts, level is only applied once) >Total at 8th assuming all sources of "+1 per damage die" stack: 12d4+44 >Corrosive Bolt deals damage twice, once every turn for 2 turns, so 24d4+88 >Lengthy doubles spell duration to 4 turns, so 48d4+176
Assuming one of the bloodlines doesn't apply, it drops to 12d4+(12x2+8=32) times four.
No SR, no save, with a damage type that is rare to be immune against (and piss easy to switch on the fly thanks to Admixture).
So yeah. It's the munchkin'est interpretation of the rules there with the bloodlines, but even with that removed, it's quite a whallop. Add in more metamagic shenanigans via Magical Lineage and Wayang Spellhunter, and the fact that nobody expects a dwarf sorc to not suck begin with, much less a WoP one... it's helluva ride.
Brody Butler
Is there any class that specializes in having a pet besides a summoner? Like having a bound devil/angel/outsider(specifically only one strong creature at a time) that serves them? 3rd party allowed
James James
Yo all, N. Jolly here, the one running the Legendary Vigilantes playtest. First of all, you've all been awesome, this playtest has helped refine a lot of content, lead to new content, and generally been great all around.
Since two of my LG products have gotten reviews, I've decided to release some of the Saturday archetypes early. I did Mercurial Duelist yesterday, and today I figured I'd come over and see which archetype out of the three remaining ones you'd like to have posted first.
The options are Mad Scientist, Inquisitive Detective, and Trickshot Sniper.
Jaxson Nelson
Friends, I'm building a Flame Oracle/Paladin Tiefling that worships Hestia.
Since the character will be demon-blooded, what are some good demons I should look at for the character's appearance or anatomy? His thing will be all about the hearth, flames and cinder, so an ash motif would work extremely well if you have any suggestions for appearance.
Eli Bennett
Look at Dark Souls 3 assets for inspiration.
Jonathan Butler
One of my players wants to start one level lower than the rest of the party, except that his character will be a gestalt character. Is this something I should allow? Nobody else in the party is playing gestalt.
Nathan Hall
No you should not allow this. Gestalt is way too powerful to have in a party in which not everyone is doing it.
Hunter Taylor
> That quote
Snowbluff?
Logan Lopez
>Trickshot Sniper Is Trickshot Sniper for trick arrows shooters like Green Arrow and Hawkeye? That one. If not, I vote Mad Scientist.
Ryder Kelly
Detective.
Christian Wright
>doesn't know what "cuck" means even in the metaphorical sense
Bentley Morris
Yep, it's not just trick shots, it's mostly trick arrows, except it's not just arrows. Trickshot sniper can also be used with crossbow bolts, firearm bullets, sling bullets, and with a talent, mystic bolts.
I figure I'll give an hour or two for voting before posting it.
Brayden Russell
Absolutely not.
Nicholas White
Spheres of Power has the Conjuration sphere that does this. There's also the Spiritualist from Occult Adventures.
Nathaniel Bennett
Actually, I'll give a little more info on Mad Scientist and Inquisitive Detective.
Mad scientist lets you either pick between bombs or mutagen, with some neat buffs for certain discoveries (being able to use a second explosive missile a round), while mutagen lets you take brute talents and eventually increase in size.
Inquisitive detective trades some social talents away for inspiration as well as basically stacking with every other archetype due to it being a social based archetype.
Anthony Thomas
what about with beam weapons?
Grayson Thomas
God dammit, i love both those things.
Still voting Detective.
Luis Fisher
Like tech weapons? I could probably include those too, I need to read over the tech guide more before I can speak to its balance, but I don't have a huge problem with including them.So that's 1 for Detective, and 1 for Trickshot.
Bentley Russell
Mad. Scientist.
Joshua Cooper
The playtest has been an absolute blast, and I seriously hope this stuff becomes widely used and cannot wait to see the final book. I already want to play at least half the stuff from the book, especially a Dragon Champion/Mercurial Duelist.
Is the Inquisitive Detective the one that you said might be for slapping on top of archetypes that don't want the appearance abilities, in addition to replacing some social talents? Because if so, DROP THAT SHIT. I want to see what other kinds of bandaids you have to slap over the Warlock/Zealot/Noble Soul.
I also legit feel kind of ridiculous with how many of the suggestions have been mine. Sitting here with a list of unposted comments. Like giving a Str Mercurial Duelist the option to pick up the Oracle's "Cha-to-AC and reflex instead of Dex" ability up as a talent, just to keep Dex from overshadowing it too hard.
Parker Gray
It does remember me the Half-orc pyroblaster: Burning Hands 5d4+16 at level 3. Though your Acid Dwarf totally wins the Rule of Cool contest.

Hey guys I'm trying to design a monster here and I'm not sure what his CR should be. It's a crocodile with the half-dragon template (black). On his own that should be CR 4.
The trick is that I'm advancing him with 4 HD in the Dragon type, so he should be able to Vital Strike with his bite. Adding 4 HD would give him a total of 7 HD which is what a CR 6 creature might have. (Compared to a Wyvern).
His CR should be about 7-9 then right?
Joshua Perez
Looks like it's 1 vote all now. Here's one of the mutagen talents
Evolving Mutagen (Su) Whenever the mad scientist imbibes their mutagen, they gain 1 evolution pointPU as though they were a bipedal unchained eidolonPU for the duration of their mutagen. A mad scientist does not need to meet subtypes requirements to select an evolution. At 6th level and every 6 levels thereafter, they gain an additional evolution point when imbibing their mutagen (up to a maximum of 4 at 18th level). Only a mutant mad scientist can select this talent. I'm glad everyone's having fun, this has been really awesome for me too. And yeah, Detective is another 'throw on' archetype, although I might do some more tinkering with it once it hits the doc because that's what I do.
And I'd be totally fine with giving M. duelist something like that, although dex already has a talent tax. Speaking of which, how's everyone feeling on the Mercurial Duelist? Too weeby? Just weeby enough?
Hunters have really strong pets, and Divine Hunter archetype allows your pet to become Celestial or Fiendish
They also have the best Iconic Waifu
Grayson Rivera
Probably coz that's what makes it magic, and you need magic to make things magic-er.
Or they wanted to gate the cool stuff behind that +1 tax, one of the two.
Thomas Clark
Thanks based on the stats I have for him and that chart I'd probably say he's a CR 8. (9 in advantageous terrain)
Matthew Kelly
She also looks like her left hip is badly dislocated.
How poorly built is she?
Jordan Barnes
>How poorly built is she?
I'm fairly sure they haven't given stats for Adowyn.
She's a real cutie though, that's for sure; of all the Iconics she's probably the most down-to-earth with a solid motivation for adventure that isn't some shade of "I want power" or "my childhood was so fucked up."
She worships Erastil, too. She's pretty much your common country-girl with an uncommon call to adventure.
Jeremiah Lewis
Thanks. I did build it on rule of cool initially, because I like the idea of going against racial stereotypes, but I didn't expect it to be quite so effective.
It's even possible to do without going full WoP Sorc: Take Experimental Spellcaster (Corrosive Bolt) as your 5th level feat, keep all you normal spells.
Mason Robinson
>asking if something is too weeby >on an imageboard dedicated to animated cartoons produced in an eastern island nation
Clearly it is not weeb enough if you have to ask.
>Giving the Mercurial Duelist Cha-to-AC/Reflex But when are you going to rip off the Brutal Slayer and give us Str-to-AC/reflex?
Isaac Perez
Turret Specialist user here.
I've made lots of progress with the archetype, but I need ideas for capstones.
For the most part the tech weapons are spectacularly overpriced (20 000 for a 2d6 energy rifle, 10gp per "charge" which is individual ammo but some things require multiple charges per shot), require two or more colossal artifact structures to craft (one powerplant and different labs depending on the items...) but resolve against touch-AC at all ranges.
Balancewise most of them are flat out useless because you'll not be able to keep them charged, but they're okay if you use one of the rare bypasses (Henshin Hero, Warsoul, Armorist, etc) that let you field the things without having to pay 10-50gp per "shot".
Of course, we all know what energy damage means once resistances come into play, and if you look at the price, they're in play when you can get one, so in reality the better high-tech weapons are the older 'advanced' or 'moderns' like double-barreled firearms or a Nagant rifle.
After all you can't Clustered Shots a Cold-Immune thing dead!
Carson Thompson
Do you have a link to more information about her? I've never played a hunter before and I've been thinking of building one. I know not to take build inspiration from Paizo, but it would be nice to get some ideas in terms of backstory/personality.
Kevin Mitchell
If Crossblooded/Wildblooded don't stack, just take Crossblooded with Orc and Copper Dragon. Same effect.
Consider yourself a hunter (as in the profession) or woodsman with a fancy pet, maybe a cub or pup you rescued in the forest.
Logan Walker
I like to be sure on how weeby something can be, call it a personality quirk.
And I doubt I'll do that...probably...maybe...
So to make them viable, the archetype would have to come with some kind of bypass for a weapon that already makes firearms look cheap...beautiful.
Jack Miller
If this includes animal companions, you have a lot of options. If not there's the ones that have been mentioned already, plus the Nightmare Constructor archetype for Dread.
Thomas Lewis
What CR would a Thunderstorm with these features have?
70% chance of getting hit by a thunder
Thunder deals 10d6 shock damage (DC 23 halves)
We travelled through it to avoid losing tracks of our enemies, swimming through a river with Swim DC 20.
What's your opinion?
Christopher Gonzalez
Well you can probably just let the abilities affect them, and let us worry about the rest. More a matter of compatibility since you'd listed "bolts, bullets, thrown, not just arrows" or the like, that I was asking about.
Dylan Morgan
I forgot to say that the 70% is meant to be the chance per round.
Zachary Lopez
Jesus fucking christ, well enjoy that tpk.
That's absolutely insane.
If my GM pulled that on me, I'd walk away.
Luke Kelly
If you haven't already done so, you could draw some inspiration from the Architect class in , which is heavily based on placing towers.
Jason Cook
Actually, I survived. I need the answer to know how much exp did i get. It was fun.
Aaron King
Thunder is just sound. People cannot be hit by thunder. You're describing lightning.
Also, there is no such thing as a storm in which you have a 70% chance of being struck by lightning, and this is just a very efficient way to kill your party and make them mad at you for designing a bullshit environment.
Christopher Davis
Well, what you COULD do is make the Iaijutsu slash only replace the specialization and 8th level talent, since you're not actually "getting" the vital strike feats... Then at 4th level, give the choice between two options: The Oracle-rip Cha-to-AC/Reflex ability with some small extra, OR you can choose... Shit, I dunno, Power Attack without needing to meet the Str requirement?
Jace King
Jesus, how much fucking lightening is there if EVERYONE has a 70% chance every round. The place should be a fucking fire ball, everyone should be deaf and dead. Lets say you make the save 60% of the time.
.6*.7*10*3.5 = 14.7. So lets say average 15 damage per round to every player. That will kill a level 10 character given 10 rounds. So they will be dead after a minute outside.
Matthew Thomas
Consider the fact that on average, your party will receive 35*0.7=24.5 damage per round (if they don't make the savong throw). How long would they last inside that?
Anthony Brooks
To me that sounds like several mid-level magical traps working together.
70% chance of getting hit by lightning is ridiculous, are you all wearing magic lightning rods?
Luke Nguyen
What feats are good for an archery based character?
Kayden Morales
Is your campaign based on Final Fantasy X?
Brandon Sanchez
And added technological weapons, they're janky, but if people want to use them, I won't stop them from using garbage. Didn't have thrown ammunition listed before, so that's now added.
I actually probably could, now that they're not getting the feats, I don't think it needs to take the 4th level talent too. I could make 4th either Finesse Blade or Cha to AC/Reflex, since they're almost the same there.
Colton Rivera
15 damage per round 70% chance. Under trap rules that is roughly:
Over how wide of an area is it? It's around a CR 12 trap.
Mason Ward
I like catch-off guard, since drawing an arrow is a free action I always have a melee weapon at the ready just in case.
Asher Ross
Sorry, non native english and trying to sort this out real quick, thanks for the input
There were 2 of us, 1 died after the 7th round, I barely made it to a safe place.
The GM is just inexperienced, we're not even mad :)
no
Colton Wood
The kind of GM who would do that to you isn't the kind who would give XP for it.
Jeremiah King
Point-Blank Shot, Rapid Shot, Precise Shot, Manyshot, and Clustered Shots are all pretty much necessary, and after that things like Far Shot and Shot on the Run are nice to have.
Levi Hughes
He is not mean at all, he is actually and willing to "pay" it as a CR 14
Landon Nguyen
You seem like a better player than he is a GM
Liam Price
Thanks, but seriously, he's chill and very talkative about what's going wrong and what not. I've seen better mastered campaign by very shittier people who made me want to rage quit.
Thank you.
Any other opinion? He would like more than one.
