>>Information

This quest, as the title suggests, takes place in the world of Dragon Ball. You're playing as a thirteen year old boy named Tofoo, and will adventure through the story of the Dragonball series alongside characters such as Goku, Yamcha, Bulma, Tien, and many others. Through your actions, you can make significant changes to the story, and perhaps even become the strongest fighter on Earth.

>Rules

At the end of each update you'll have ten minutes to vote on options. Write-ins are allowed, but I do reserve the right to veto them.

In the event of a draw, the option to receive the next vote wins

Rolls will be used on certain occasions, such as attempting a technique for the first time or attempting something extremely difficult. You will have three rolls, and if one succeeds, you succeed. There are no crits.

Rolls are made AFTER an option wins, not during the voting process

I hope everyone has fun.

Let us geode, fornicator of mothers!

The sun hangs high over the mountains as you race away from Jingle Village, searching for the cave the chief told you of.

It seems strange that a new quest is beginning so soon after your last one came to an end, but you suppose that experience is the best form of training, and that, whatever happens, you will probably come out stronger for it.

Racing toward the nearest mountain, you quickly run around the base, looking for a cave. And, before long, you spot one.

Getting closer and looking inside, you can see that it's not a very large cave. You can also see that the chief was right. There are several bears sleeping in the cave; odd, as you thought they usually slept alone.

At the back of the cave, you spot what appear to be two books.

Now, all you have to do is get to them.

>A. Try to get the books without waking the bears (55)

>B. Just grab the books, let the bears do what they want

Rolled 99 (1d100)

Rolled 14 (1d100)

must be a slow night tonight

Jesus, Anime

At least I'm finally out of my low rolling funk.

I hope.

YOOO

Not wanting to wake up a bunch of sleeping bears, you move as silently as you can to the back of the cave, picking up the books and leaving the way you came.

Once outside of the cave, you take a better look at the two books, finding one to be much larger and older looking than the other.

Figuring it to be the book the soldiers were looking for, you open it up, flipping through pages of words you don't understand. You think this book was written in a different language.

There is a map, but you can't tell where on it the Devil's Castle is supposed to be located.

>A. Read the smaller book

>B. Try to think of someone who might know this older language

>C. Ask the chief if he can read it

>D. Forget the map for now, go to the kingdom of King Gurumes

>>A. Read the smaller book

>A. Read the smaller book
>C. Ask the chief if he can read it
>B. Try to think of someone who might know this older language

Our best bet if the chief can't read it would probably be Korin, or Roshi, he's been around for a while.

You open up the smaller book, finding that it's actually a journal.

"I don't get why Moe thought it was a good idea to raid this little village. They hardly had anything worth any money, and the stuff they did have we could have easily gotten without travelling into this frozen wasteland. For some reason, Moe seems really happy with the trip, though. Especially that book he took. He's been reading it a lot. I don't get how; I don't even recognize the language it's written in, but he says it'll tell us where to find something really valuable. A "princess" is what he calls it. I think he's just finally losing it. Anyhow, he says he knows where to go, so I guess the rest of us are just going to have to go along with him."

That wasn't too much help, but you guess it confirms that the larger book is what the soldiers were looking for.

But, you still can't read it. Maybe Korin or Master Roshi could. After all, they're both pretty old. It couldn't really hurt to ask one of them.

>A. Go to Korin

>B. Go to Master Roshi

>C. Something else

>>A. Go to Korin

>>A. Go to Korin

>A. Go to Korin

Korin's got to have been around for a really long time. If there's one person you know that could have been around when this language was used, it would be him.

But, it will be a long journey to the Land of Korin, so you know that you'd better get started right away. You dash off into the forest, making your way out of the mountains and heading in the direction of the massive tower that stands above the clouds.

You make good progress, but you still have a ways to go when the sun goes down.

Deciding to make the rest of the journey tomorrow, you fall asleep.

That night, you have odd dreams. You see yourself with Bulma, Mai, Launch, Lazuli, Ranfan, and even Suno. For some reason, they all seem to want to be as close to you as possible, and in your dreams, they spend a lot of time touching you and flirting with you, acting nothing like they do in the real world.

And for some reason, in your dreams, you enjoy it. But, when you wake up, you just feel really weird about it.

A and C

>D. Attend to power pole

You go over to the nearest tree and hit your head against it over and over in an effort to get the images from last night's dreams out of your head, knocking it over in the process.

This leaves you with a splitting headache, and for some reason, a pain in your chest.

Ignoring the discomforts, you resume your journey to Korin Tower, racing through the forests until you can see the enormous structure in the distance. As you draw closer, you spot a small fire outside of Bora and Upa's tipi. Not seeing your two friends, you decide to just climb the tower.

You race upward, moving slower than you really should be after your training with Korin. It takes you a moment to remember that you're wearing weighted training clothes, so you shed the weighted articles of clothing and begin the climb from the start.

Now, you're moving at incredible speeds, and before too long, you spot someone else making the climb; a small figure in a yellow outfit that you recognize as belonging to the Orin Temple.

Krillin.

catchy slogan

You don't have time to stop and chat with Krillin, so you move right past him, going up so quickly that you aren't even sure if he registers that you're there.

The amount of time it takes you to make the climb now compared to how long it used to take you is pretty staggering, and it feels like no time at all when you've reached the top, entering Korin's room and finding the cat waiting for you.

"Tofoo, I saw you climbing up," the cat says, walking over. "Almost scared your friend there off the tower."

He stares at you for a few seconds, before turning away from you.

"So, you wanna know how to get to Devil's Castle," he says. "Well, I don't know where it is, but you brought me a book that'll tell us that."

"How'd you know all that?" you ask the cat.

"I can read minds, remember?" he asks, approaching his little table and clearing some space. "Now let's see that book of yours."

You set the book down in front of him, and he flips through the pages until he finds the map. He strokes his whiskers, chuckling to himself.

"Well, that figures," he says. "Devil's Castle is on the Devil's Hand. Really should have guessed that much."

He gets up and walks over to his dresser, rifling through it until he locates another map. Going back to the table, he sits down and circles a mountain on the map before rolling it back up and handing it to you.

"Devil's Hand is a big mountain that looks almost like a hand," Korin explains. "Supposedly, the area around it is cursed, and lots of people disappear in there. If the story's true, there's probably a lot of demons on the mountain, which would explain why people don't usually come back."

Well, one mystery solved.

"Korin, do you know anything about Blood Rubies?" you ask.

"Rare gem," he answers. "Extremely valuable, but I wouldn't recommend collecting them. They carry a terrible curse that twists the victim into an embodiment of one of their worst traits."

"I have a blood Ruby," you tell Korin. "Any idea on how I should get rid of it?"

"Give it here," Korin says, holding out his paw.

You pull the ruby from your shirt, and hand it to him, only for him to crush it in his hand a second later.

"They're pretty tough, but if you're strong enough you can crush them," Korin tells you. "I'd also suggest taking a bath when you get the chance."

"So, do you know anything about the Sleeping Princess, Devil's Castle, or Lucifer?" you ask.

"Not much, the legend was old even when I was a kitten," Korin tells you. "The sleeping princess is supposed to be beautiful and have mystic powers, Lucifer's supposed to be wicked and strong, and Devil's Castle is where he rules from. Other than that, I can't tell you too much."

"Know anything about King Gurumes?" you ask.

"No, but I know his Kingdom," Korin answers. "Mostly farmers, usually a pretty peaceful place."

Demon Waifu??

"What do you know about demons?" you ask Korin.

"More than I'd like to," he answers. "Most of them are a lot older than I am, strong too. They're ugly, nasty, and love to cause trouble. But, there aren't as many of them running around here as there used to be. In fact, it's been about three hundred years since one caused enough trouble to put humankind at any real risk."

Well, you guess you know to be careful if you encounter any demons on your journey.

With that settled, you ask Korin how to get to Gurumes' Kingdom.

He points you in the right direction, and you leave immediately, heading down the tower even faster than you climbed it, and passing Krillin on the way down.

Once you reach the bottom, you put your weighted clothes back on, and run in the direction Korin pointed you as fast as your legs will take you. Racing into the woods, you leave the Land of Korin, rapidly moving toward the Kingdom of Gurumes.

But, you run so fast that when a young girl comes out from behind a tree, you can't stop yourself in time. You dig your heels into the ground, slowing yourself enough not to seriously hurt either of you, but still crashing into her and falling on top of her.

"Hey! Get off!" she shouts, roughly pushing you away and standing back up.

She looks to be your age, and reminds you a bit of Suno in appearance. She has similar red hair, but where Suno is almost always smiling, this girl looks ready to beat you up. She's wearing a baseball cap and an outfit that doesn't exactly strike you as good for a walk in the woods.

"What's the big idea?" she demands. "Can't you watch where you're going?"

"Sorry, I didn't see you," you tell her. "Who are you?"

"My name's Pansy," she says, dusting herself off. "And it's okay, I guess."

"What are you doing way out here?" you ask her.

"I'm going South," she says, pointing in that direction. "I need to find Master Roshi."

"Why?" you ask her.

"Uh...because he's powerful!" she tells you as if the answer should have been beyond obvious. "He can save my home from the king's men."

"The King?" you ask.

She nods. "King Gurumes! His soldiers have been destroying our land, killing our crops, and pushing us all around!"

"Does he live close to here?" you ask her.

Pansy nods, turning and pointing. "His castle's in the valley right over there. Why?"

"I need to see him," you tell Pansy.

"You're nuts," she tells you. "Nobody just goes and sees the king. He doesn't see anybody but his soldiers. Every time one of the grown up tries to go to the palace and talk to him, his soldiers beat them up and send them home."

"Trust me," you tell her. "You don't need Master Roshi. I can handle this."

Pansy looks at you like you're out of your mind.

"You're completely nuts," she comments. "Seriously, they won't let you in."

Well, then, you won't just ask for permission.

Running in the direction Pansy pointed, you find yourself atop a ridge overlooking a huge valley. At one point, it was probably quite lovely, but now it just looks awful. Machines are everywhere you look, digging up the land around scattered buildings you guess are farms. Smoke rises from many areas, and sitting above it all is a large castle.

"It's terrible, isn't it?" Pansy asks bitterly, coming to your side. "This place was beautiful until King Gurumes found the Blood Rubies. Now he's destroying everything looking for more!"

You look for a way down, but don't see any paths. You guess you'll have to jump.

"Hey, are you even listening?" Pansy asks.

>A. Grab her and jump down

>B. Jump down by yourself

>C. Go to the buildings and look for some of the people

>D. Head for the castle

>B. Jump down by yourself

>>B. Jump down by yourself

>B. Jump down by yourself

>>B. Jump down by yourself

You jump down from the ridge, landing in the valley and taking a look around.

There are machines everywhere, most manned by large, hairy men who seem to be constantly frowning as they dig up everything in search of those rubies.

They don't seem to pay much attention to you, so you walk by them in peace, slowly making your way toward the castle.

It's sitting on a plateau overlooking the valley, and is quite large and impressive looking. Some sort of track leads up to the castle gates, and sprawls all over the valley, apparently being used to move carts around.

The closer you get to the castle, the more soldiers you see. Many of them look your way, but they probably figure you're one of the local kids, and since you don't seem to be causing any trouble, they leave you be.

However, when you approach the ramp leading up to the castle gates, half a dozen armed guards approach you, guns at the ready.

"What do you think you're doing, kid?" the nearest soldier asks. "You know the rules; this area is off limits."

"I'm not from around here," you tell them. "And I won't leave until I see the king."

The soldiers laugh, and one steps forward.

"I see, we got us a little comedian," he comments. "Let's see if we can't beat that out of you."

He attempts to strike you in the head with the butt of his rifle, but you raise your palm, catching it before he can hit you.

Lifting the gun, and the man along with it, you toss both over your shoulder, sending them flying away from the ramp and crashing into the ground.

"Big mistake, kid!" one of the soldiers says, firing his gun at you.

You move faster than he can keep track of, and punch him in the gut, causing him to drop his gun and collapse to his knees. Another soldier fires at your back, but you do a backflip and kick him in the face, knocking him into another soldier, and knocking both over.

The other two fire at you, one pulling out a radio and shouting into it.

"Send reinforcements! We're under attack!"

The castle gates open, and soldiers come pouring out. Soon, you find yourself in the middle of a storm of bullets, ducking and weaving your way around in an effort to avoid them all.

Hooking your foot behind a soldier's ankle, you sweep his leg out from under him, catching his gun as it falls from his hand. Continuing to dodge bullets, you crush and bend the gun, making it into a small staff, which you use to deflect bullets as you run into the crowd of soldiers, leaping into the air and diving right into the thick of them.

Punches, kicks, bullets, and rifle-butts are thrown at you, but you dodge or block all of them, taking down the soldiers in rapid succession.

"Out of the way!" a loud voice demands.

The soldiers clear a path, and a tall, muscular man approaches, cracking his knuckles.

"What do we have here?" he asks. "You idiots are letting a kid do this to you?"

"V-Vango!" a soldier stammers. "He's really strong."

You toss your staff aside, wanting to have this face man to man, fist to fist.

Vango continues to stare at you with a frown as you drop into a fighting stance.

With a yell, you launch yourself at the larger man, jumping right at him and throwing a powerful punch at his face.

Vango's hand shoots up, catching your fist, but you won't let your offensive be stopped so easily. You throw a kick that catches him in the jaw, forcing him to release you.

He takes a single step back, face pointed up at the sky.

Landing, you spring forward, aiming to hit him in the gut, but he kicks upward, catching you in the chest and kicking you up above his head. When you see his face, there's a grin on it, and his fist comes slamming up into your gut.

Spit flies from your mouth, and as he moves his fist, you begin falling toward the ground, only to receive an elbow to your back that sends you slamming down hard enough to get stuck in the stone.

"Come on, I thought you were tough," Vango comments, reaching down to grab you by the hair and lift you up.

He holds you in front of his face, frowning once again.
