>it's friday, time to game

Anyone have PDF/Mobi files of Black Library stuff? Would be much appreciated.

Got anything lined up?

> tfw picked up a tonne of written off BL books for free
How was your Friday?

no, but unlike last week i'm showing up early so i can actually get a game in. i'll probably use those seeker chariots i finished last week

mega.nz/#F!wx4BiKhD!YhnAf1BqSmAB8dO6xDM56Q!c4pGAJDb

Not the person you responded too but I have a 4000pt Dark Angels vs. CSM game on Saturday with a friend.

>seeker chariots i finished last week

The ones with the sort of black road/tarmac bases? Either way good luck finding a match.

yup, i'm that guy. if you like that one you should see my daemon prince in emperor's childrens colors

Be nice to see the army together if you get the chance to take a picture of it.

Sounds like a good time, if not a bit of a slog. My group can barely do 1500 vs 1500 in an evening.

Starting a 6000pts 2v2 game this afternoon. My AdMech force (2k points of Skitarii/CultMech, 1k points of Mechanicum Taghmata) and allied 3k of Imperial Guard/Scions/Assassins/Knight vs. our local Tau and CE/Harlequin players.

Fortunately none of us are assholes and have forsaken formations for varied fluff-lists (mostly CAD-based for decency but it's still unbound). My only worry is that our Baneblade might not be enough to counter the Tau player's Supremacy Suit. Other than that it's looking to be a kickass game.

>tfw I have a 3500 pt game of RW vs SW

Can you feel it, Battle-Brother!
The Lion watches over us as we burn the heretic and kill the mutant!

No superheavys either. We just wanted to do a big ass fluffy battle. It's a center battle of a campaign he and I are doing.
Oh yes battle brother. Good luck against the emperors executioners.

>3500 pt game of RW
Why would you want so much Ravenwing? Isn't it the same four or five units spammed over and over?

Facing Orks, not sure where to place the Mystic/Psyker if in the Crusader or the Chimera. The Priest rides in the crusader, the Inquisitor depends what powers he rolls. Seraphim are Celestin Escort.

My nigga.

Whats your 4000pt list look like?
Bringing either wing?

I can field close to 4500 pure Ravenwing before bringing my 1500 points of transportless DW.
i would be lying if I said I don't spam a bit by that high of points but I think everyone kind of does.

While admiral make sure not to count HQs towards the 100 I don't think libs, chaps tech marines count towards that.

Also aren't the black knights supposed to be the elite of the elite in the Ravenwing?
That would be represented poorly with your army since it is more than half your models.

Im bringing all the wings. Please ignore the shitty formatting as I'm posting from Evernote.

>I don't think libs, chaps tech marines count towards that.
You are right, I am actually further than I thought. 55 Marines are represented at full force of my collection.
I need another 2 attack bikes and Landspeeder for my third attack squadron which will add 6 then hopefully 9 more regular bikers for three more squads.

Someday I will get there. I am still trying to paint these damn fliers.

No command squad for your termis? I would think it was worth it with the investment of a MoR Int Chap or is he with the knights in the Land Raider.

I wish knights were better from the deepstrike, as is without transports in my collecting, I can't use them and then end up being TH/SS bros for the regular termis.

Do you like the assault cannon? I only ever use cyclones but my DW lists are usually meant to be friendly and more TAC.

The Interrogator Chaplin will be with the DW Knights in the LR. And yeah I love the assault cannon DESU.
I also prefer to have my list to match to model if possible during games for my own memories sake and I only have the assault cannon termies.

>I also prefer to have my list to match to model if possible during games for my own memories sake and I only have the assault cannon termies.

Ah I see. Don't have any of them myself and the cyclone has been a nice heavy weapon with a bit of utility to it. I don't bring a knight squad in my DW anymore so no one give me any trouble with calling the mace a thunderhammer when I put them in termi squads.

The cyclone is probably better but I'm expecting daemon summoning and I like more shots against a lot of those.

>Gee billy, how come your terminator squad gets three assault cannons

do black legion rubrics use thousand sons helmets?

no, check the black legion supplement

I'd be so mad if that's the case. I haven't forgiven GW from taking away my dual assault cannon 5 man terminator squads.

how do they get the helmets off without all of the dust falling out?

Ahriman's lesser known second rubric involving summoning a dustpan and brush.

use a fresh suit and/body

Got a game tonight with the local group I've been slowly building up. We live in rural Tennessee, the closest LGS is a GW shop about 2 hours away. We play at the local theatre once everyone is gone due to our guard player being the manager there.

Me-Guard, but I've started up Hrud(Counts-as Necrons).
Manager-Basic Guard list
Gay Twin#1- Harlequins with splashes of other Eldar
Gay Twin#2-He uses Goblin spider riders as Ork Warbikes
Theatre worker-Orks with a focus on Nobz(We let him use the old rule of Warbosses unlocking them as troops).
Friend-KDK

We have two guys potentially joining us with space wolves(One being corrupted by chaos). Our games aren't points equal at all and we usually do 'order' vs 'destruction' with everyone's collections just thrown at each other. We have a lot of fun and everyone is learning the rules pretty well. Unfortunately, we've yet to finish a game due to time constraints.

what kind of models should i start collecting to play nurgle daemons (with possibly some plague marines)

the more lore appropriate the better

So what's going on with that Rhada Dandra eldar prophecy? is part V out yet?

Here it is. Talking about Ynead AFAIK

How about picking up a Start Collecting: Daemons of Nurgle.

>1 HQ
>2 Troops
>1 FA

I'm probably gonna just build/paint personally. My IG have only gotten in like half a game all week cause everyone else has been playing frigging AOS. That and go to work to buy more tonks and shit.

God damnit Eldar. Didn't you learn from slannesh? Stop creating these galaxy destroying gods.

>the eldar are successful in destroying slaanesh with ynead
>ynead actually devours slaanesh and grows more powerful
>this actually causes more problems for everyone

i could see this happening

Plot twist, Ynead instead goes after Nurgle. Slaanesh, feeling some kinship to the new god helps.

Nurgle is cast down and Ynead joins the Pantheon as the 5th Chaos God of Death and Inevitability (Nurgle is still around, but only a god of stagnation and sickness, losing the death aspect to Ynead.)

Isha is a(n) (un)fortunate causality.

And Cegorach's master plan is one step closer
>Replacing the humanborn Chaos Gods with superior eldarspawned Chaos Gods.

I run my CSM with allied daemons and visa versa. I have been having better luck than the internet lead me to think I would. The start collecting is good enough to get two of to buff your unit sizes. Then a Daemon Prince as an HQ to sink some points into.
For nurgle CSM I have chaos bikers and obliterators because the extra toughnesshelps a lot.
Sometimes I use the unit of plague marines I have in a rhino, they are alright.
Going to work on Nurgling a defiler and heldrake.

There's not too many but nurglings/plaguebearers/beasts of nurgle/plague drones/GUOs are all worth investing in. Nurgle forgehost and epidemius are a powerful combination as well.

>got anything lined up

Last night my of 11 years told me she's no longer in love with me, and wants to divorce. Out of the blue.

Ive lost all will to do anything, and am only not going to kill myself because my dogs would suffer. I have no family. Both of my parents and my brother have all died in the past 5 years.

Ive never felt like this before. I dont know what to do bros.

>not your blog
As far as I'm aware, the only studio Black Legion Rubricae, which are visible in the last two Chaos Space Marine supplements, still have the head crests.
The Sons of the Cyclops picture does not state the picture is of a rubricae.

well shit, might wanna talk it over with her rather then us or go get shit faced

wait, they're not rubrics? i thought they were because it mentioned recruiting the sorcerers of magnus to the black legion for their rubric knowledge

drinking is actually one of worst thing you can do after a relationship ends

Well, tell me about your army mate. Have an old picture of some of mine.

What he hasn't admitted is that it's a normal 2000 point game in 7th edition.

>People hurt us
>or they vanish
>and you're right, it really blows
>but take a deep breath
>learn to let go

I still think plain 6e FOC system with Lord of War banned from below 2000pts. games was the best. You got your FOC, your allies, and for larger games you can get more dudes and a super-heavy. It was simple and neat. I never had any problems with super-heavies in 40k, as long as it's one or two in larger games.

That frag cannon is absurd. Loyalists getting Tyrant Siege Terminators is depressingly unsurprising.

>hmm, these Chaos players love giving their Terminators combi-meltas
>let's give the loyalists a strictly better piece of wargear

>Veterans:
>>- 110 points for 2 models
>>- Usual profile
I hope this is a typo and its actually 110 for 5

Yeah. A squad of veterans with 4 of them puts out some serious firepower, if you can keep them alive. I guess the 5th dude in the squad gets given the shield and told to stand at the front.

It is. Article actually got updated between me copypasting the first and second parts, while I was busy obsessively >implying every single line for no good reason.

Another update since then is veterans can take drop pods as dedicated transports as well.

Got some dark eldar warriors coming in, can't go wrong with more warriors

>Terminators getting meltagun fists
>any model can take a heavy weapon
>Can get rid of those stupid power fists

Who would win? 13 black crusades or ultramarines 1st company?

Something about those don't feel fitting.

Simple. There's a BA Libby who is making the other termies honor the megadakka of the old IXth Legion. What is really eyebrow raising is that there are so many wraiths.

Blade attachments are canon though. Its the simplist upgrade a bolter can have.

What's going on with fantasy flight?

I know but something about seeing a SoB with one doesn't sit right with me.

Its her boyfriend's hat.

And all is right with the world.

Nothing, just a shitposter from last thread replying to posts with green text and meme reaction images.

He might not know that SoB have the first non marine codex. First edition didn't really had codex.

I can't into words today.

Well, since they hired Ward back, I think it will be 13 black Crusade, but without total victory, something like siege of Terra, Epic duel between Abbadon and Marneus. During the battle Marneus reborn into Gulliman, who escaped from stasis.

The Sarissa (Giant Chain Bayonet) was a major bit of SOB unique gear back in the 3e codex. Sorta vanished when really weird gear started getting folded in in later editions.

Thats not true. Space pirate orks came first years before sob.

>Won't kill self because dogs would suffer

You should probably go see a marriage counselor. They can do alot to help The one I saw practically saved my marriage. Though, seeing as both me and my wife are Catholic, divorce was out of the question, and annulments can take forever. Poor guy is dead now though. .
Hope your situation gets better user.

Nobody replied last time. Don't spam with your requests.

>Loyalists getting Tyrant Siege Terminators is depressingly unsurprising.
To be fair, the ultramarine special termies are also basically loyalists TST. So it's not like this is the first time the imperium has copied pert's idea.

Got some advice for my 1500 list?

Red Scorpion Hammer Force (1497pts)
Space Marines: Codex (2015) (Combined Arms Detachment) (1497pts)

----HQ (390pts)----
Lord High Commander Carab Culln
Magister Sevrin Loth

----Elites (255pts)----
Honour Guard
Chapter Champion w/ Tears of the Scorpion (Axe)
5 x Honour Guard w/ Tears of the Scorpion (Axe)
Drop Pod Dedicated transport

----Troops (450pts)----
Tactical Squad (225pts)
9x Space Marines
Grav-cannon and Grav-amp, Grav-gun
Drop Pod Dedicated transport
Space Marine Sergeant
Boltgun, Chainsword, Narthecium

Tactical Squad (225pts)
9x Space Marines
Grav-cannon and Grav-amp, Grav-gun
Drop Pod Dedicated transport
Space Marine Sergeant
Boltgun, Chainsword, Narthecium

----Fast Attack (162pts)----
Bike Squad (93pts)
Biker Sergeant, Bolt Pistol, Chainsword
2 x Space Marine Biker with Special Weapon
Grav-gun, Twin-Linked Boltgun

Scout Bike Squad (69pts)
2 x Scout Biker
Scout Biker Sergeant
Bolt Pistol, Locater Beacon, Melta Bombs

----Heavy Support (240pts)----
Centurion Devastator Squad (240pts)
3x Centurion
Grav-cannon and Grav-amp, Hurricane Bolter

The idea is to walk the Centurions and the Bike Squad up the field, creating a zone of "fuck you" around them, while the Scout bikes drives around, and with the locator beacon, bring in the rest of the force to fuck up someones day with an honour guard+Carab Culln.

Not sure if I should start my psyker in the cent squad or the Honour guard... the honour guard means he isn't on the field from T1, which might be a bad idea.

Thoughts?

Oh, here we go again with the salt. Fucking iron babbies can't deal with the fact that their whole thing had been featured on Ultras long before FW ever decided to give it to IW first.

>Grav tacs
>Grav bikers
>Grav centurions
Congratulations Motherofanon, it's a powergaming cunt.

Whatever, grav tacs suck. Tacs are only good with meltaguns and drop pods.

So I received the tyranid collector starter pack from a friend and now after a couple games I am kind of at a loss as to where to go with building the army. Anyone that plays tyranids have any advice on what I should expand with?

Hive tyrants with wings are the only good unit, so make sure you have at least two. Everything else is just a matter of which type of bug you would rather paint.

A box of 'thropes is pretty useful. Build one as a venomthrope and the other two as zoanthropes.

What do you like of Tyranids?
If you're unsure I'd go with the follow:
>1 Zoanthrope / Venomthrope box
Reasoning: both come in units of 1-3, meaning you can easily mix and match. Zoanthropes provide Synapse and Warp dice while Venomthropes provide shroud
>1-3 Biovores
Reasoning: 45 pts for S4 AP4 36" Large Blast Barrage on a Terminator size model is great. Heck even if you miss you spawn spores which might soak an overwatch up.
>1 Troop Choice of your choice
Reasoning: Right now you only have 1 Troop, not enough to unlock CAD
>1 Start Collecting: Tyranids
Reasoning: Flyrants are one of the best units Tyranids have, gives you your second troop choice, and more gargoyles.

Sooo... You can build shitty 500pts squad if you want. Or you can do hellova MSU with one model bike/terminator squads.

Those frag-cannons thou. pod + 5 guys with 4 those = probably 110+4x30+35pts. 8x S9 ap2 shots is not bad. Nor is 8x S6 rending flamers.

Out of all the codices, what is the best wargear relic,
and why is it Litanies of Faith?

>two tyrants
Don't fucking instantly push new players towards the most boring, predictable WAAC netlist. I wouldn't even take ONE flyrant, just have it walk.

why so it just dies to shooting turn 2?
Why have him waste 200 points.
Bugs are pretty shit these days but they still look baller. If you wanna be competitive, there are like 3 units in the whole codex who are points efficient, and thats flying hive tyrants, mawlocs, and zoans. Everything else is just support for them. Nids are also real easy to paint IMO, and the models look great as well. For the most part anyway. If you're looking for some fluffy shit: Warriors genestealers carnifexes are pretty cool but also pretty shit. Carnifexes can be nice with 2xdevs w/ BLW but suffer from mobility issues.

Problem with that is if you build a walkrant, if you can't into greenstuff (and I dunno, maybe user can) it's difficult to put wings on later, so you have to spend more money to get a flyrant.

Problem is that wings are a near auto include, even if you never actually fly (35pts for Deep Strike / 12" Movement). Heck if going for a Melee Tyrant wings are still a great buy so you can maneuver / get up the field / jump over roadblock units.

Then why the fuck don't they have melta guns? Max grav isn't as useful as a little grav and some melta.

You are better off using a landraider or stormraven for the honor guard

The one bike squad isn't useful, take another tactical squad.

In fact if the scout bikes are just for locator and you're only using pods, don't take the bikes. Take more tacticals instead, or maybe some assault marines. Hell you could add a squad of terminators.

Oh and FFS just take a melta gun and combi melta on the pods. Stop spamming grav, you'll thank yourself when 8th edition comes out.

Only if you're bad at nids.
Tervigons, warrior primes and even deathleaper have excellent uses.
Zoanthropes are exllent synapes and psychic support. Venomthropes just provide cover, and you'll need a few of them to make them worth a damn.

Biovores are for armies not using swarms of stuff. Excellent anti infantry support.

Anything in the troop slot and be used, just take what you need/want.

If you are looking for cheap nids check ebay and buy for real low prices. Avoid flyrants because you won't get games and they will be nerfed in 8th and the next nid codex release. You can still make use of 1-2, but don't rely on them, you turn into a terrible general that can't into tactics.

Don't play against superheavies, d weapon or grav spam. Suddenly things feel more fun.

The new Player here
Im already running a flyrant with the begin collecting pack because foot slogging seems terrible
How are hive guards? My friends all play space marines and they are at the point where they are going to start bringing vehicles. I play against nothing but space marine flavors and grey knights
What should this army look like? You kind of told me everything looks cool but is terrible to actually get. Which is the feel I have been getting so far but fuck playing a human army in Spessss
Do I need biovores though? I am pretty new to the game but it seems like the one thing this army already does just fine is mulch infantry

I don't play nids too competitively since I usually try to just drown the enemy in bodies at every points level, but biovores are pretty nice

Lukky stikk.

Grav is complete garbage against nids to be honest. They have no vehicles and most of their armor saves are pretty shit so you won't have a good effect on them. And add in multiple wound monstrous creatures and venomthropes and you're fucked.
