>read horror adventures >mostly shit >read dread lord
Guess I know what my next campaign will involve. Won't be hard to change that template up. Take away the evil requirement and I've got the average Fisher King right there.
Parker Cook
I want to warrior, holy warrior in particular. Anybody have fun stories of playing such they want to share?
Aiden Wright
I'm currently playing a Rogue (Thug)/Paladin (Dusk Knight)/Hellknight. I am basically Batman in full-plate and I love it.
Ryder Mitchell
Post art of Gingerbread Familiars
Cooper Brooks
Can Gingerbread familiars be maulers?
Easton Thomas
There is nothing in the rules that says they can't be. Heck, I was planning on making one myself, but ended up choosing Valet since it'd be more thematically appropriate/comfy as heck
Nicholas Rodriguez
How would you play a tiefling kitsune gingerbread vore witch, /pfg/?
Wyatt Brooks
>Another AP group pop ups in Roll20 LFG >Read campaign details >Its full of Queers Jesus christ, why is every group I end up joining in roll20 gay?
Is there some sort of filter I accidentally turned on or what?
Bentley Powell
GINGERBREAD WITCHES ARE NOT FOR VORE! THEY ARE FOR COMFY WILLY WONKA ADVENTURES!
Nathaniel Lee
I desire more feedback on Wild Warrior, /pfg/. Current thoughts are that Form of the Dragon is gotten too early; I could add Monstrous Physique to the list of spells that the not-wild shape gives the equivalent of and push FotD back two levels each, but i"m not sure if that solves the issue.
Also, how do you get homebrew added to the OP pastebin?
John Torres
I mean if every group you join is gay maybe the groups aren't the problem?
Eli Jones
I don't remember Willy Wonka literally eating people whole.
Justin Stewart
I'm going to unironically say REEEEEEE, get your fetishes out.
Nolan Butler
How is it my fault that the majority of males in any group I join is addicted to cock?
Grayson Gray
Okay, I'll take the bait then. I've nothing better to do. Why does it matter? As long as it's not ERP when it wasn't advertised as an ERP game it's not different than the bard trying to seduce the barmaids.
Charles Thompson
Maybe he doesn't want to be apart of some
DEEP
DARK
FANTASY
Ethan Cooper
Have you ever been to a roll20 game? Of course there will be fucking ERP.
Owen Allen
I've been in several, and there was no ERP at all.
Evan Williams
Yes, I run and play in one. Neither involve ERP.
Listen, I know we're on Veeky Forums and all, but relationships aren't something only happen in fantasies.
Jordan Sanders
I wish I had your fucking luck then.
Mason Anderson
I was just there, and found this. So, y'know, anyone defending roll20 should stop. Just accept it.
Jaxon Jones
...
Charles Campbell
>I found an outlier so everything must be awful.
Samuel Phillips
More like >I found /d/ so Veeky Forums is awful.
Ethan Edwards
But apparently it's a serious, mature game, and it will be welcoming to girl gamers. So I suppose that redeems it
Elijah Gutierrez
Actually with some of the /pfg/ threads it's not unreasonable to think they're one in the same at times.
Alexander Kelly
I'm tempted to show you my folder full of screenshots with nothing but horror stories but fuck it. Maybe you've been lucky all this time and I kept getting the shitty end of the stick but you'll see. It will eventually happen to you soon enough and no one will believe you either.
Noah Howard
Well, /d/ has been here since 2009 essentially
Kayden Sanchez
Ya know we do believe games like that exist.
Julian Gutierrez
Show it anyway I want to see some horror stories.
Like worse I got was a dude who played a 15 year old half-succubus.
Connor Young
I cringed so hard when he mentioned Assassins creed. This guy HAS to be like a 9th grader or something.
Joseph Butler
I'd rather not as I'm still playing wth a few of them and I'd rather not blow them up till I find a different group.
maybe someday i will be free to release the horrors upon you
Gavin Lee
Could someone link NJolly's Vigilante archetypes playtest? My DM wanted to read them.
Nathaniel Gonzalez
Incoming HOT OPINIONS:
The Martyr is rather interesting, making Paladins into a hyper buffing class. However it is pretty bad.
Witchkiller is good for the mere fact it gains access to superstition.
Serial Killer is bloody fantastic, especially because the Nightmare ability can be deadly to commoners.
Gingerbread witch is fucking fantastic for both flavor and FLAVOR. I need to play one.
Undead Master is pretty damn good as an archetype, but I love necromancy.
Ian Russell
I generally agree with your opinions, good job
James Gray
Only concern I see with the witch killer is that if Superstition is always on it's going to be a fucking bitch to heal the guy.
Gavin Adams
I guess the point of the Dawnborn posting is to draw as much hate to it as possible, huh?
Nathaniel Price
Probably to feed the people that shout shills when people talk about 3rd party supplements they enjoy.
Cameron Phillips
Which one, the old one with all the archetypes, or the new one with like 4 or them?
Dominic Diaz
The benefits of always superstition outweigh the costs generally. You're gonna waste a few CLW wand charges on him. Or he just gets no magic healing ever, and has to deal with mundane healing.
Anthony Jackson
New one I think? Had one with a symbiote and I think another was called Gore Fiend?
Carter Myers
The original links are kill last I checked because the playtests both ended, and shit's likely to change before the books are released. If you want to take a look at either playtests anyway, you're gonna have to hope someone saved them and is willing to share, since Jolly was tentatively okay with sharing copies privately. Pretty sure at least one guy in the IRC saved both playtests, so you might want to ask there.
Parker Ward
Well shit, that was a really short playtest...
Gabriel Bailey
TECHNICALLY the 'newer' playtest is still going on, so I'm fine with giving the link for that one.
Although today's the last day, so please don't add the link to the OP, now that Gencon's over, I can start getting to work on getting it out.
Corrupted Scion was removed because it's being used on another project.
ENTIRELY UNRELATED...If someone was going to attempt to 'fix' corruptions, what sort of things would you like to see done? I'm not saying I am working on something like that (I have my own ideas), but there is the chance of it coming up.
Asher Thomas
Fix corruptions... Make the corruption stages not end in "DM takes your character sheet", and make the stains and benefits be a bit more even so corruptions don't feel like a punishment.
Aiden Johnson
>ENTIRELY UNRELATED...If someone was going to attempt to 'fix' corruptions, what sort of things would you like to see done? First, I would reword or reformat rules for them that it's possible to understand what the fuck they do. It's almost kineticist level bad.
Jeremiah Ortiz
Make more of them act like the Possessed corruption. Benefits that you can gain at a cost, but if you try and use too many the corruption stage advances. That gives you the ability to actually use the corruptions and still back down from advancing stages unless you really badly need to.
Elijah Wilson
Probably a belated question, but how exactly do a vigilante's dual alignments work? Is one of them the "real" alignment? I mean, ostensibly it's not like they have a split personality, both identities will be working toward the same goal. If the social identity is pretending to be a nice guy but secretly setting things up for his, say, serial killer vigilante identity to murder a bunch of orphans, does that not have any effect on the social identity's alignment?
Ian Roberts
Okay, I can totally agree with making better manifestations, that was first on my list (living armor could have been cool if it didn't have so many caveats).
I know a lot of people want to avoid losing their character.
Kineticists bad, eh? I have a bit of experience with rules text that murky *WINK*
I can work with that, there's a solid chance more corruptions will be added, but use based corruption stage advancement could be a lot of fun.
>Currently writing up a Graveknight corruption
Adrian Cruz
Make a kender corruption!
Jackson Fisher
>Graveknight corruption Fantastic.
Isaac Stewart
>Graveknight
You got me very interested now. And yes, Hive corruption is a great example of some nifty manifestations with stains that are just way too severe to be worth it.
The only corruption I think that is remotely decent is Vampire. I feel it's a solid balance between benefits and stains but could of course be better. Of course part of what makes the Vampire template is the vampire weaknesses on top of their extreme strengths. Whereas with the corruption you're getting all those weaknesses basically, with far fewer strengths.
Grayson Ross
You won't. "The other rage powers affect the slayer constantly, although the superstition and witch hunter rage powers apply only against arcane spells and spell-like abilities and the creatures that use them".
Bonus: Can be healed/buffed by divine casters. Downside: Makes them way more situational, I'm not sure how many bad SU effects tje normal Superstitious would help against that this won't but I suspect it's 'a lot'.
Grayson Jones
So, is Horror Adventure worth the buy, should I wait until it goes on sale, or don't bother at all >inb4 pirate I'm not a fan of piracy.
Camden Hill
All Su abilities used by creatures are arcane. Even from outsiders. Only classes that great divine spell casting count as divine, nothing else does. They're a minority in the entire "what does magic at you" department.
Andrew Williams
Are they? Because this is the first I've ever heard of that. I wouldn't have thought that stuff like dragon's breath or unique Su abilities would be Arcane. Do you have a source for this?
Kayden Powell
Look in the OP for spoilers.
Kayden Martin
>roll20 has a fetish game so it's bad! >I post on a thread where people are constantly talking about how to inject their fetishes into non-erp games!
Xavier Scott
Is it weird that the thing that bothers me most about this is that they're using d20 modern when they clearly want to use Black Tokyo?
Then again, Black Tokyo is a piece of shit whose final boss monster is a literal personification of white guilt so maybe not.
Caleb Richardson
>r is a literal personification of white guilt so maybe not. What?
Levi Stewart
Probably just someone projecting their insecurities.
Joseph Moore
anyone got an imgur of legacy of dragons?
Carter Torres
YEP
>The Shingami is the ‘western god of death’, a colossal psychic monster created from the hate and bigotry of an entire nation. Born during World War II, the Shingami is the living embodiment of American sin- the loathsome spirit that put Japanese-Americans into camps, and the same rage that burnt the world at Hiroshima and Nagasaki. [...] >The Shingami’s sickly yellow and black face is like something out of a WWII propaganda poster- a slant eyed, bucktoothed, leering parody of a Japanese man’s. Dozens of penis tendrils, each the size of subway trains whip, from beneath the creature’s bulging gut. The Shingami’s eyes glow a bloody crimson, and its light is strong enough to blot out the sun. From head to hooves, the monster is wreathed in atomic flames.
Liam Edwards
Legacy of Dragons is ultra shit. They didn't even try to not make it look like unpaid intern work.
Zachary Hill
>Languages: Mindlessly repeats circa WWII anti-Japanese catch phrases
Carson Rodriguez
Well, Horror adventures is also shit and there's an imgur of it.
I just want to show it to my GM, and maybe keep the oracle page(s) handy
Josiah Young
I didn't want to go that far back to save the images. And it was a complete ass to make an imgur album. If someone else wants to find the threads go ahead.
Josiah Cook
Hive was actually written by a friend of mine, we talked about it after it came up. I did want to make manifestations have stronger gifts with stains that didn't cripple the character (16 hours of sleep? Really?), but I want to keep them as thematic as possible. I also want to include character options that'll let you better control your corruptions (feats and such), so that you have the lowest possible chance of taking a ride on the NPC express.
Robert Fisher
That sounds less like White Guilt and more like BUTTHURT for losing WWII.
From an in universe perspective it is not a manifestation of white guilt but anti-Japanese sentiment.
From an outside perspective, nigga was probably trying to be as offensive as possible. Isn't this the same game with an unbirthing class, a menstrual blood class, and abilities that get you bonus for sniffing the panties of underage girls?
Giant propaganda gook face wreathed in hellfire with penis tentacles doesn't seem very white guilty.
Nathaniel Phillips
What class is serial kill under?
Jackson Myers
Doesn't mean it has to be white guilt. I don't know anything about black tokyo other than it's supposed to be awful fetishy, I think all I know is that I don't take most people seriously when they start crying about stuff like that.
Bentley Hill
Vigilante, 70-71
Christian Garcia
Vigilante. It makes a great assassin, better than the actual Assassin PrC.
Jace Nelson
...
Landon Myers
That's not saying much, didn't Paizo nerf the assassin for no reason? At least the Red Mantis assassin has spellcasting (though I doubt their spell list got expanded so it's no where near as useful as the 3.5 assassin.)
Cooper Wilson
Neither do I, to be sure, it's hilarious.
>hmm, I'll write a porn game that was 50% anime and 50% bodily fluids, what should the most dangerous creature in it be?
>how about an atomic godzilla with a propaganda face that can only be killed if an American burns himself to death atop its corpse?
Actually, now that I'm thinking about it, it kind of does make sense. Fuck.
Henry Gutierrez
'is bruce wayne batman or is batman bruce wayne'
Wyatt Butler
There effectively is a severe mental disconnect between the two identities, to the point that the actions of one cannot be legally-testified against the actions of the other if this were a modern court of law. They are both the "real" identity, and both the "masked" one.
Oliver Cox
The tier list has Promethean Alchemist as a major upgrade for the Alchemist (along with Preservationist/Planar Preservationist). What makes it so good?
Bentley Richardson
Action economy. Standard Action summon monster extracts that your homunculus can throw too.
Evan Thompson
Is there a special item or sheath that can turn your slashing weapon into a temporary blunt weapon?
Nicholas Garcia
JUST Preservationist is a direct upgrade of the base alchemist, since literally anyone with the ability to use a standard action could use your summons. The Promethean part is a meme. It's just cute and a cool archetype that also happens to let you nova an encounter by dropping 2-3 summons (you, your homunculus, and possibly your tumor familiar), and the homunculus has a few neat tricks for very early on to keep it from being burdensome or even bypass some shitty low level traps entirely (darkvision, level 1 fly speed, immunity to fucking everything).
Christian Taylor
They can pull Summoner-levels of action economy shenanigans.
Plus your Homunculus can infinitely and cheaply scale with gold.
The tier list is massively out of date and nobody wants to dedicate their entire life to keeping up to date with the latest barely functional shit Paizo keeps putting out.
Jace Turner
What's the point of Tortured Crusader?
Xavier Garcia
Weapon Versatility.
David Reyes
Yeah, I could tell why Preservationist was so good, it was the Promethean part that was throwing me. Thanks for the explanation!
Joshua Ross
Combat Scabbard. It's a martial weapon.
Nolan Stewart
>2-3 summons That ain't anything, somebody posted a playtest that can summon 4-6 summons a round, but it was errata'd away.
Joseph Watson
>Plus your Homunculus can infinitely and cheaply scale with gold.
Assuming your GM lets you apply construct modification rules to the homunculus companion. Which is something that is very iffy and it's highly likely your GM will give you dirty looks. Was it ever FAQ'd as working? I can't imagine Paizo would intend a class feature companion be allowed to get those modifications.
Bentley Barnes
Well it's a Wis based Paladin with a straight smite focus. Wis is a better mental stat than Cha.
Easton Parker
It's a Paladin denied his Cha.
Cooper Thompson
>he says when there are 5 different ways to get CHA to AC, which all stack, with the right archetypes, because they're all different bonus types
Grayson Davis
>multiclassing Also the mental stats are Wis>Int>Cha
Lincoln Diaz
>ways to get CHA to Will saves, meaning the only things WIS is needed for anymore are Perception and Sense Motive
Lincoln Garcia
I mean you already get CHA to all your saves, which is exactly half of why WIS is good. The rest is just skill checks.
