Aegis is a piss poor synthesist suit.
1.Any form not called Astral Skin is horseshit, since you can just get "real armor" and enhance it.
2.Most of the custom point options are only good for mobility if you don't want to be a shitty faux caster. No claw attacks. No Bite Attacks. You get tentacles with one archetype that is arguably a downgrade.
Aegis is a shitty meme class that I wish people would stop recommending. It's only worth looking at if you're doing gestalt.
