First one doesn't really work well, the companions have all been sapient or sentient at least.

wisp tiki and fudge have companions on the card, just no art, only drake lacks a companion completely, someone suggested a wyrm companion but im not sure

i dont know about wisp off hand, but tiki is a pair of floating spirits, and fudge is a team of back up chefs

When she was made, she was pitched as the dragon princess for whenever. After all, the expansion dragons aren't actual dragons. Wasn't her story something like she was lonely, kidnapped all the princesses, and intended to have a tea party with them? I can't recall too well, and I don't remember how far back this was.

I support the idea of Pajama being the "dragon" of Gen 5's expansion though. Nothing against the concept of the Ryu princess, but still.

Based on the original, a bit too little titty, a tad too much thigh.

The faces of these pandas have always been unnerving to me, and a lot of what's presented on the card sounds less like a panda and more like some sort of fuzzy Weegee plague monster. I'll attempt to make my own take on a Panda Princess, but's going to have to wait a few hours until I'm back from class.

I dont much like the hair on that one, although the rest of the design is pretty good. Plus we could use more princesses with glasses

I want to see Gambler, Merchant, and Thief princesses in a heated game against Sir Knight in various states of undress.

I wonder if there are more appropriate princesses for the game besides Merchant and Thief though, they were the first ones that came to mind.

Prepare for one massive wall of text.

It was a design from way back when a bunch of Princesses were being finalized by Gats, and I'm pretty sure she's a slight reference to Litchi Faye Ling.

Now that I have the time to sit down and get all my thoughts out in as articulate a manner as I can, I will explain why it is that I am against the current Panda Princess's design. It all stems from this old card that went with her. I will break it down piece by piece to better explain how I reached the opinions that I did.

>Design
The faces on the Princess and her Companion get to me the most, and not just because one was copied over to the other. What gets to me the most are the eyes. I think I can see where the artist was coming from when they drew them the way they did, but I also find them to be cold and distant, unexpressive. The rest of her body and outfit feels a little bland but is otherwise alright.

>+ Squishy and cuddly
>+ Bear hugs
>+ Surprisingly flexible
So far nothing is out of the ordinary, but the positives tell nothing of her actual character. This left me to interpret her exclusively from the other information present.

>- Hundreds of ceremonies
Fitting enough, but the vagueness of this negative still explains very little in the way of her character, let alone what manner of ceremonies it means by this.

>- Hates breeding
I understand that pandas in the real world are not the most agreeable species when it comes to reproducing. I also believe that this occurs because of a malnourishing diet, something that would be less likely (one would hope) for a sapient race of panda. This is so far the only piece to denote any facet of her personality.

>Royal Maidens: Women who will do anything to serve the royal family
Another reasonable piece to this card.

>Wealth Bonus: The Maidens build shrines which will grant you and your Princess immortality so long as they stand
Something about this bonus feels forced. There are plenty of ways to obtain immortality as it is, and the fact that this bonus limits it to two specific characters makes it feel finite in its overall usefulness.

>Power Bonus: The other Kingdoms are all heathens jealous of our own. The Maidens are sent to desecrate another Kingdoms shrine. Gaining its Renounced effect.
This bonus is bad on three accounts: it mimics the effect of another Bonus (Imp Princess's Wealth Bonus) but with less, it creates a narrative in which ire is drawn towards your Kingdom, and it just plain sounds very, very un-panda-like with this degree of maliciousness.

Based on everything that's presented on the card, I put together a most gruesome scenario. Panda Princess establishes herself as immortal by establishing her own religious order and eliminating competition to this order through her Maidens. She then converts all of the player's Maidens into her own servants, "who will do anything to serve the royal family," leaving the player all but without allies while further increasing the strength of her influence. The lack of an heir, thanks to her dislike of Breeding, solidifies her control over her Maidens as well as over the assets accumulated by the player, now her immortal muscle, and her Watching kink ensures that she keeps a close eye on the player in the event that they even consider opposing her.

My dislike for the current design is the vacancy of her expression amplified with everything else that was present on this card when it was uploaded. It is not my say what should and shouldn't be used in Towergirls, and so if the majority wish to keep this design or update it (I do believe she needs an update more than anything) then it will be so, and I will simply choose not to take her in my own adventures. I mostly wanted to see if anyone else had come to the same conclusions and developed a similar sense of utter dread and revulsion at the sight of her image as I did.

Its the perfect setup, he can never lose cause that would result in him having to take his helmet off which is against the rules. Even Gambling Princess would end up stripped. Now if only we had a kind artist.

Panda Princess definitly needs an art update. None of them look terrible to me, but they need the normal touch ups to make them fit the Towergirls style better.

The card is not horrible either, but I agree it probably needs just a few touch ups also. Is the original creator around or is it one of the really old saved designs? For touch ups, it depends if we want to make her more Dog Princess style crazy or tone things towards a more normal princess.

The thing about Dog Princess is that her style of crazy actually makes sense with her being a dog. What was proposed through the Panda Princess card doesn't really evoke the image of a Panda and would probably make more sense on a Princess designed solely around her tyranny (Evil Princess II, the evil twin of Evil Princess).

I can't believe I'm even presenting this idea, but I picture a chronically depressed panda. The last of her royal bloodline, perhaps even of her race, she has given up all hope for her people, her kingdom, and her life. Only the (forced?) love and support of her followers has allowed her to survive as long as she has.

... And now I picture the sad panda with a Shinji Ikari outfit.

Besides Knight Princess, I think there is a Valkyrie Knight, who looks like a girl.

I more see her as self absorbed and arrogent noble type than any sort of malicious tyrant or usurper, she sees herself as true royalty and as cute as it is that you humor the fantasies of other pretenders, it would truly be best for everyone if they took their rightful place as servants and concubines
