Initial Topic of the Thread: It's happening! Shipping has begun! When are you hoping for your notification? When are you actually expecting it to arrive?
Reminder that the White Sphere is the ultimate master ruseball and is taking literally everyone for an incredibly convoluted ruse cruise. Especially the PHR.
Mason Harris
1st for the EAA and their descendents being so stupid they have to have their ubermensch betters stop them from killing themselves like sheep off a cliff, repeatedly
Stop trying to wipe out our own species, plebs
Brody Miller
Some dude on the KS is getting his Commander pledge in the UK tomorrow; hopefully non-UK stuff should start being shipped out by the beginning of next week.
Hunter Davis
This also means that the starter sets (and the rulebooks) are pretty much packed for everything*

Beta prices for ships doesn't fully work yet but you can get the raw numbers

I think you missed an opportunity by not changing the text in the title to "Local Chad is fucking invincible"

Jeremiah Ward
Don't humans do that too? Except half of the old humans in charge are filth who have never fought in their lives.
William Rivera
So you're from Gibraltar. Got it.
Gavin Hernandez
Yes, but old humans are generally decrepit and unsuited for combat, while Shaltari can just slide right into a new body whenever their back slips a disk.
Julian Ward
>Iberians >ever Keep going, you'll eventually get it
Adam Turner
Just ordered a broadsword, did I fuck up?
Gabriel Hughes
Broadsword's a bit of an odd duck. The gun's a great matchup against say, Alexanders, Oppressors and ESPECIALLY Shaltari walkers which they reliably one-shot assuming the shields fail. But it's cost-inefficient to transport and a bit overkill when engaging anything that's not 2-4 HP.
Oliver Miller
Nah, I think the model's pretty cool, and it should get work done.

I'm buying it because one of my main opponents loved to drop 1 or more Type 4s and this seems the best way to kill it and not autodie in retaliation. Those things have way to easy a time doubling out gladii and he plays too many Hades for gunship/drone swarm.
Elijah Edwards
Wonder if Hong Kong's big enough to be a battleship. I'd say so, but who knows.

So my friend in the US has a LT pledge.
This morning his shipped.
I am in Commodore land and nothing T_T

So, I'm fucking around in any dice, and while this looks correct statement wise, it's very obviously the wrong output.
Any dice doesn't like it when you put dice inside of other dice. Or at least, I have not found a way to get it working properly.
Grayson Long
Really? Rip me then; thanks user. Would my statements have been correct if it did accept nested dice?
Jordan Hernandez
Yeah they look good. Fortunately you can cheat around the nesting problem by just working out a bit of the math yourself, and d6's are pretty straight forward. This should be what you were trying to put together : anydice.com/program/979e
Daniel Watson
Yep, that works out! The only unfortunate problem is that it quickly becomes non-trivial to enumerate for weapons with multiple damage, right?
Alexander Clark
hoping for order by next week, accepted that I'll probably only get my stuff at the tail end of all this.
So we know Moth is getting their order tomorrow. Will Moth be actually showing us things or are we going to get dick teased?
Bentley Cox
Yeah. The 4+ save isn't too bad, but some configurations of the other two don't simplify down and require over 50 individual inputs. God help you if you have a 3 damage weapon.
Julian Torres
Yeah, I just mathd out the required inputs (which actually turned out to be pretty easy, once I remembered how to do it) for the DC against 5+ armor, and the simulated die will require 29 zeroes, 12 ones, 24 twos, and 97 threes. Fuck that tbqh.

Jaxon Price
So what do we know about the super laser? Same one on the Beijing, I assume?
Sebastian Myers
Nah, the Beijing has a Cobra laser like the Berlin and Moscow. The Avalon has the Viper superheavy laser, with 4 attacks and BTL-8 (I think).
Basically, it's going to be cutting through (and crippling) anything smaller than a battleship in a single go.
Cooper Martinez
SCOURGE DID NOTHING WRONG
Caleb Clark
Wew, why'd I post that. Whatever.
Easton Miller
Better, actually. It's a 'Viper' instead of a 'Cobra', and from my limited knowledge it's basically two Cobras worth of firepower in one weapon system.
Elijah Scott
EAA DID NOTHING WRONG VEGA WAS AN INSIDE JOB FUCKING ABADONISTS
John Powell
>literally better than a battleship why even bother
Ryan Bennett
I'm naming my Avalon Arturia's Pride and nobody's gonna stop me.
Jacob James
Two Cobras worth of attacks, but I don't think it has BTL-12. Maybe BTL-10, probably BTL-8.
Keep in mind that with 4 attacks at 3+ to hit, it's exceedingly likely to hit cap and get a crit early on; it'll be reliably doing 7+ damage per firing, which is enough to cripple nearly any cruiser. BTL-12 (or even BTL-10) would allow it to cripple battleships in a single shot.
Battleship has an additional 3 heavy mass drivers, along with having 50% more DP and insane amounts of PD. Do keep in mind that battlecruisers are "technically" supposed to be, according to traditional naval nomenclature, battleships with their armor stripped off so that they can go fast.
Joshua Rogers
>we could be getting scans by tomorrow

...you aren't kidding.
Grayson Martin
Personally I actually think Arturia is just a nice sounding name in general. Even without the cross reference with Avalon I think it would be a cool ship name.
Jeremiah Long
The only time battleship weapons were worth bringing out was during big battles, and battlecruisers tended to get stomped in those because they had the target priority of a battleship with the survivability of a cruiser. Skirmishing with battlecruisers is an entertaining idea, but they didn't really do it any better than smaller ships, which had smaller guns but a greater number of them.
Jaxson Miller

Same here.
Anthony Butler
>battleships with their armor stripped off
That's backwards. They're cruisers with battleship tier weaponry on a cruiser hull. Thus, battle + cruiser.
Which is in turn different to a heavy cruiser which can also be referred to as an armored cruiser.
Justin Bailey
Moscow with launch bays
Evan Thomas
Lads, I've found a way to compromise total magnetization with unique ships >have a list of names per ship class >whenever you assemble for a game, choose names per ship as you please >record actions as necessary >if the ship is destroyed in battle, strike its name from the roster and add a new one, or just rechristen it I expect to see logs of your captains' and crews' valorous actions, anons.
Caleb Taylor
Touche
Blake Rivera
A fair few battlecruisers were just heavily modified battleships, and they were all bigger than cruisers. You need a battleship-tier hull to place battleship-tier weaponry, the idea was just that they'd be as fast as a cruiser with the armament of a battleship.
Lucas Lewis
Actually, early battlecruisers were larger than battleships and heavier. More length and less weight meant more speed. But with enough weight for the same guns and slightly less armor.
So early BCs were really 'bigger battleships that spent that extra mass for speed'.
Unlike games, often WW2 battleships were faster than cruisers or many types of smaller vessels, once the battlecruiser type merged with the battleship type to form the even more expensive 'fast battleship' type, like Iowa and Yamato.
Oliver Davis
Nobody appreciates how being bigger allows you to have bigger engines that make you go faster
Modern super carriers can outrun their own escort fleets easily, if I recall correctly
Seeing all this ship name chat has got me thinking. Star names would be good, for example:
Regulus Sirius Eridanus Procyon Algol Eltanin
Luke Morgan
What about shields?
Asher Scott
Doh. I'll take care of it tomorrow. Super need sleep right now.
Adrian Powell
Also, you've mislabelled the 3+ armour results for damage 2 and 3. Sorry.
Colton Powell
Its strange I found absolutely no interest in Scourge from the original DZC, but these big space ships are really starting to grow on me. How do they fair in the game?
Grayson Moore
Same here. I don't care for Scourge ground units, but their ships are very snazzy. I'm especially a fan of that sexy battleship.
From what we've seen so far it looks like they'll be pretty hard to play, but effective once you git gud at maneuvering.
Andrew Mitchell
Well, if we use the UCM ships as the 'baseline' then:
+2" Movement -1 Armour +1 PD +2 Sig
Guns have generally better Lock-On scores although that isn't universal and scald means that attacks from scan range (IE Close Action Weapons for a start) equalise the armour difference between the two.
Light Cruisers have Frigate Armour +2 Speed and -2 HP but full cruiser tier weaponry, compared to UCM Light Cruisers that have Cruiser Armour and stats but no medium rail cannons (from the looks of it, we have yet to see stats for sure.)
Fighter craft are apparently the most numerous, but have the weakest stats. Their torpedoes do the least damage (4) but then vomit a load of Razorworms into the ship, which I beleive works like Fire crippling effects.
Basically, you have a fleet that wants to get up close as quickly as it can, and accordingly has three of the most deadly close action weapon combatants (Wyvern - Stryx - Djinn) to ram this point home.
Nathan Smith
As far as I'm aware: >Typically fewer shots from their guns, but 3+ lock across the board, and many guns do 2 damage. Probably a bit spikier with their shooting damage than other factions as a result. >Weaker armour than UCM and PHR, better than shaltari. >When firing at close range, have a special rule that reduces target's armour by 1 (so UCM and PHR have same armour as scourge ships in a close brawl). >Some ships have INCREDIBLE close action weapons, again with scald as above. >Scourge BTLs probably better than PHR's but not hitting the heights of the UCM's >Heavy cruisers are stealthy. >But otherwise, they have a slightly higher signature than UCM/PHR. >Battleships are the fastest in the game. So they seem to be a faction that wants to get close and personal with their enemies. But, they probably aren't useless in a long-range engagement, you're just reliant on the dice not deserting you as one bad roll may literally waste a cruiser's shooting.
My feeling is they will take a bit of nous to use well, although they're not as tricksy as the shaltari.
Benjamin Bailey
>"Get out or you'll die" >Most people who don't get out die >It was just a ruse
Jason Reyes
>Experience setbacks in reconquest >Maybe pull out of one theater to avoid overreaching? >Nah >Get told this is a bad plan >"Fucking traitors"
Nolan Young
We just haven't gotten to the payoff yet. You need to build up trust so that the reveal of your incredible multilayered rusedi is as effective as possible. The PHR think that they're taking everybody else for a ruse cruise, and to an extent they're right. But at the same time they themselves are being subjected to the most ironic and massive of ruses at the metaphorical hands of their own god.
