Nazimod nuking this thread in 3...2...1...

>almost none of men

Lad, that was the majority of fantasy art from the 60's through 80's.

We had an actual naked barbarian in our game. Well, almost naked. The player is a retarded weeb and was inspired by pillar men.

>Almost none of men
Vallejo and Frazetta, motherfucker

...

Except, you know, the most iconic male fantasy character ever.

A holy war about whether or not Conan was actually a naked barbarian in loincloth in 3, 2, 1...

I actually do need a character portrait of a muscular barbarian type guy.

>reading the original Howard Conan stories
>only uses an axe once because his sword broke
>regularly wears armour into battle, even as much as full plate

Are you kidding me?
My African brother!
No war needed. sometimes he was some times he wasn't. It all depended on the situation he was in.

This. The 70's were an amazing time of egalitarian fantasy art. Put a beefcake with an axe on the cover, some Leia-Bikini amazon warrior, have them stand on a pile of gold, maybe throw in a purple mountain lion in there, put a volcano or a spaceship in the background.

>subtle /hm/ thread

Savagely beating racial caricatures is an important detail you missed.

...

Anyone have this without the text?

I'd really like to see more creative sexy male armour. A lot of it tends to be really dull metal underwear.
Loincloths are cool get pass because they have the savage thing going on.

But it's the same with boob plate. So much of the time it's just a metal bikini. It feels lazy and cheap.

I want some interesting costume designs. Something like Kill la Kill with striking colours and interesting choices in what to cover and what not to cover. Not to mention use of straps gloves, stockings. Something like that but including dudes.
I mean fuck, look at Barsoom for a totally different type of revealing: everyone is naked except for what is needed. You just have belts and straps for weapons and gear or jewellery for fashion. No pussying footing around bikinis. It also makes what little clothing there is completely functional for what it is, which is pretty sexy.

I think the best kind of sexy outfit is one where after three or so hours of watching a character move in it you you forget it's meant to be sexy and figure it just looks cool. By the time this happens the sexiness of the outfit should be absorbed by the character them self.

>a dude so hot it makes men switch sides

Disingenuous SJW bullshit. Nearly naked musclebound men are a fantasy staple.

>>Almost none of men
Yeah, never mind literally every barbarian stereotype ever

>I could assume he means on his hard drive, hence why he's asking for more

>or I could try to make it be about SJWs so I can ride my hobby horse again

Better safe than sorry.

Does anyone of you guys have a pic of a clearly evil-looking barbarian with a greataxe ?

Somethin' like this?

He is a bit too much armoured and not evil enough for my tastes.

May be hard to find then. 'obscured face' is synonymous with 'evil' in the general visual lexicon.

>300 style
>not recognising pillar men in all their instant glory
>even when there's someone pointing it out in the comments of literally every single TTS video

These, user, these. Why do you think they made that Pillar Men custodes thing in the first place? Because old RT era custodes were just muscle dudes in rights with a cape and a spear. I may have posted fanart, but I was referring to the original RT era art that inspired the fanart.

It doesn't really matter what happened in the books, as most people have only experienced Movie Conan. It's kind of a moot point.

Was this particular piece of art used in any commercial games?

I do recall a lot of Conan-esque art with fighters in loincloths, but the image you posted is arguably much skimpier than that. I mean, you usually didn't see the guy's crotch hair. Usually.

Frazetta was at one time told that any art he made could be accommodated with a publication to fit it. I don't know it that applies to actual games though.

>Lad, that was the majority of fantasy art from the 60's through 80's.

But none of that artwork was sexually suggestive. It's just straight guys living out some idyllic male power fantasy through self-insertion. Look more closely. The men portrayed never have any emphasis on aesthetic features - just physicality like large muscles. The choice of clothing was used only to avoid obscuring any of the characters' muscle mass. Do you think this is what women (and gay men) actually find attractive about the male form?

Female characters on the other hand are placed in sultry and provocative poses, and there's a lot of emphasis on highlighting female aesthetics such as breasts, body shape and facial features.

So no, men aren't sexualized in fantasy art. But I think artists should occasionally focus on this. And no, I take no issues with female characters being sexualized as well. Equal representation is a good thing.

Glad something I dumped was helpful. Would read about, and not just because I'm an unrepentant macrofag
That's a pretty well reasoned point. inb4 SJW plz go, though.

Who's talking about sexualization? OP just wanted half-naked dues.

>Who's talking about sexualization?

I am, because there isn't nearly enough of it. (at least of men)

Sex is good. All teenage boys should be able to get their fill of sexualized characters, no matter their preference.

>try to have a nice no homo barbarian thread
>infiltrated by faggots

It is what women care about. They hardly care about penis size, just muscles, height, and power. Showing a powerful man is sexualization of man because a man's sex is as powerful as how much power he holds in society.

>implying stereotypical barbarian art isn't homoerotic
>oglaf_honor.jpg

>dick armour

I'm very ok with this.

A shitty card but I still use him in EDH just because he's a sexy beast.

same reason why pic related was slotted into my Daxos

I should build a deck with nothing but sexy males.

Indeed. Maybe we should get Veeky Forums to collaborate on this.

What's the sexiest Jace art? No sexy male deck is complete without Jace.

Who would be the commander though? Daxos and Oloro are the only half naked male legendary creatures I can think of and their colour identities aren't great.

Jeez, what a faggot.

Wait, what? My childhood ideals are homosex?

>Implying Jace could ever be sexy

...

>Do you think this is what women (and gay men) actually find attractive about the male form?

Go ahead and take a trip to /hm/ and see how much male porn isn't muscular men.

that's only because /pol/ and /g/ have monopoly on twinks, it's gentleman's agreement between them and /hm/

That's what Dungeon World does to you

That fact remains that it is indeed a thing that women and gays find attractive.

>So no, men aren't sexualized in fantasy art. But I think artists should occasionally focus on this. And no, I take no issues with female characters being sexualized as well. Equal representation is a good thing.
You haven't provided a reason why it is a good thing or why i should care.
WE'VE GOT METAL AND MAN HERE.
And that's all that matters

I'm running out of pics of scantily clad men that aren't pornographic

The difference is, muscular guys in gay porn are more than just a mass of muscles, their muscles tend to be defined in specific ways, and they tend to have sizable muscles in their ass as well as everywhere else.
Most of what's being posted in this thread? It's just a straight 10 on the muscle scale, for the sake of being STRONG, rather than attractive

So post the pornographic ones?
Assuming they aren't actually 100% lewd, that is

you've done MAN's WORK user.
Thank you
>So post the pornographic ones?
I may or may not second this

>being STRONG, rather than attractive
The Strong is Beautiful

>post the pornographic ones
They all show DICK and this is a blue board

That's a shame

Here's an old pic I almost used for a character once. (It's cropped.)

>So no, men aren't sexualized in fantasy art.

There's a difference between sexualized and titillating. I think there's a definite sexual component to the enduring popularity of the barely-clothed barbarian as symbol of virility, even if the intended male audience doesn't necessarily find it arousing.

There's certainly a market for Chippendales berserkers amongst lady nerds, but judging from the position of Spock, Jareth, and Sherlock, they go in for stuff like this more often.
