Various worlds and multiverses have become connected together via the mysterious Overcity, a sprawling landscape inhabited by monsters and magical beings. Girls and boys endowed with their new supernatural powers can work together solving conflicts that arise!
>This is NOT a greentext adventure style CYOA with one GM and thread posting to dictate the adventure, but rather a hub thread for multiple storycrafters to use.
This thread houses three systems: First, QuasarBlack's CYOA PDFs which may be used as writing prompts. Second, AMGC which expands on the CYOA character creation and provides rules for combat. Finally, the SCS is an alternative to AMGC with a similar purpose. IRC uses mostly AMGC and Discord uses mostly SCS.

The CYOA's Patron Module, which determines just who bestows your character's magical abilities. But be wary, for not all of these patrons are after your best interests...
Gabriel Gray
The SCS was made as an addon to the CYOA to cover the combat side of roleplaying. It allows players to easily take characters made in the CYOA v1.5 and use them in Quests and long-running campaigns alike.
This PDF covers the basics of magical girls and sets the groundwork for updates and addons.

AMGC Fusion, for magical girls that are truly inseparable. At least, as long as the fusion lasts. Hint: it's not long.
Liam Green
The AMGC Puchuu Expansion, for the myriad creatures that seek to instruct or command most magical girls.
Ethan Johnson
The SCS Order & Chaos, Friend & Foe expansion, for adapting patrons to SCS play, a basic bestiary, and creating dark magical or monster girl characters.
Bentley Foster
The SCS Worlds & Wishes supplement, for directly adapting AMGC characters into the SCS, getting advice on GMing, plenty of optional rules, and more. A FAQ is also included for some common questions.
None of my mahous were active today, but my monster girls were quite active. One turned a whole forest into a world of illusion, and the other went out hunting and ended up picking a fight instead.
A busy day all around.
Jacob Murphy
>One turned a whole forest into a world of illusion Is this illusion world open for investigation by puchuu mahous?

there are standards you'd judge a movie with that was playing in theaters after a multi-billion dollar budget, and then there are standards you'd use to judge your friends indie short. you can't apply the expectations you hold to people who's work you've seen because it's famous to the work of your acquaintances, see?

Anyone's Monster Girl or Boy terrorize Humanity lately?
William Barnes
Recently a mummy girl has taken to kidnapping magical girls and draining them of their life force so that she can return to her youthful self that has all of her limbs.
Thomas Richardson
As a fearsome creature of the night, it's not like she has any other choice!
She does, she just enjoys the taste of warm human blood too much.

Disgusting Monster """girls""". You will be purified.
Leo Long
>Disgusting Monster """girls""". You will be purified.
Legacy says "hello".

Get out of Jail and Sturdy also say "hello".
Liam Rivera
>stupidly broken perk >finally the vote passed to get rid of it Fucking get rekt mong shitters.
Connor Wood
I don't recall it being gotten rid of.
Blake Walker
It isn't broken in the slightest. People are just bellyaching.
Jacob Richardson
The effect is being removed. Same thing. Immunity to a game mechanic is retardedly powerful and just not fun (unless you have a character you want to be OP). I don't know how it was created without anyone seeing the issue this presented.
Caleb Thompson
>The effect is being removed.
How so?
Robert Morris
The immunity from purification effect is being done away with, as of the vote for AMGC 1.14
Lucas Cooper
>issue this presented.
There isn't any issue.
Not being able to purify something (unless it wants to purified) is not really an issue.
Plus that effect (not being able to purify something under normal circumstances) is still the same unless I read something wrong on the voting titanpad.
Michael Cruz
You have to realize there was no QC on any of the supplements. The writer Ain forced his headcanon in to them and wouldn't accept any criticism, to lore or to balance.
It's being fixed now that he's left. Don't talk shit without knowing the circumstances.
It's pretty problematic that it was a hugely character defining option... that you could obtain through RNG. There's not even a specification on what happens if purification is attempted. Poorly designed all around.
Ian Edwards
I have never seen any problems arising from Legacy anywhere.
Zachary Cooper
The new wording still has them immune to mid-combat Purification, save under Special circumstances.
Jace King
Reminder that Ai-n held a titanpad for suggestions/revamps to all extant MonG perks for AMGC 1.1 and it got very little actual feedback beyond "add more stats."
Kevin Phillips
While that's true, it was primarily because Ai-n refused to budge on denying MonGs the stats from their second spec.
The history of MonGs in AMGC is a mess.
Nicholas Davis
>Special circumstances
Which has yet to be defined.
Liam Scott
Suggestions he never accepted because he played mongs and WANTED them to be broken. Oh, and as a irc mod, kicked out people in the chat if they didn't agree with his direction. Fuck off.
Carter Smith
The wording is being changed to 'Cannot be purified under normal circumstances'. The intended effect is to give the user the choice of coming up with some elaborate ritual necessary to purify the MonG instead of making it completely impossible. It doesn't mean that you can now purify Legacy girls as easily as any other.
Luis Lopez
>Fuck off.
Christopher Thompson
>Oh, and as a irc mod, kicked out people in the chat if they didn't agree with his direction. Who got kicked? DSD? The faggot who threatened people in private chat over things that happened in-character? Yeah, I'm sure Ai-n just banned him for disagreeing with him.
Christian Price
It's not like we can help it !
Evan Adams
Silence, knave! Your reign of terror has come to an end!
Benjamin Hughes
Nor should you want to help it.
Being a Monster Girl is great.
Plus for some Monster Girls, being purified would mean a return to mediocrity.
Luis Young
It's intentionally left up to GM interpretation. There won't likely BE a definition. Literally anything but the defined methods works. Throwing salt water on the monster girl while shouting "OUT FOUL DEMONS" might be considered valid, depending on your GM.
>Baiting this hard.
Luis Sanchez
*Player interpretation GMs don't get to arbitrarily decide what works and what doesn't for my character. Hell no.
Justin Wood
remind me...are these the things that turn you into witches and harvest your soul? because I am already a giant spider...
Owen Gonzalez
>GMs don't get to arbitrarily decide what works and what doesn't for my character.
Agreed.
Though I assume "special circumstances" are decided by you as the player's character.
Hunter Allen
Hey ! I usually try to take blood only from willing people ! Not every monster girl is bad.
William Richardson
Yes they do. If you don't like it, then git gud and be the GM yourself.
>Game Moderators don't get to Moderate Games unless it COMPLETELY AND TOTALLY agrees with what I want. I wonder if people in these threads actually think before they post.
If a GM makes a ruling you don't like, how about you fucking debate it like a reasonable person instead of sperging out like an autistic manchild? Barring that, find a different GM? If literally every GM you find isn't willing to compromise with you, either your interpretation is exclusively self-serving or you're not looking hard enough.
Jaxson Moore

Andrew Sullivan
Seems like it has the potential to bring a scenario to a screeching halt for hours.
Daniel Ortiz
There is such a thing as "unforeseen circimstances" you know.
Robert Jenkins
No, GMs don't get to make rulings on my character. I won't let a GM say my character randomly decides to kill the quest NPC, why should they allow another character to randomly decide what my character's weakness is? Should I let a random person who has never previously seen my character decide what would work based on their authority? That seems completely ridiculous.
Barring that, I believe the purpose in Legacy is to give autonomy to monster girl players to decide whether they get purified or not. Removing that autonomy is stupid as fuck.
Aiden Myers
>give autonomy to monster girl players to decide whether they get purified or not.
They still functionally have it don't they?
It still can't be done regularly and "special circumstances" can be what you say it is, regardless of what the GM has to say about it.
It's not like you have to let some GM spoil your fun on that.
Elijah Garcia
>Letting a GM/player debate ACTUALLY interrupt gameplay. Sounds like your problem is that your GM doesn't know how to make a quick change to their notes to not completely fuck everything up.
>No, GMs don't get to make rulings on my character. Yes they do. Deal with it or stick to unmoderated play. You're literally saying that GMs can't do their job. >Why should they allow another character to randomly decide what my character's weakness is? Because if they're a good GM it's not random and it's not something they didn't consult you on first. Only bad GMs will go "well I've decided that this Gorgon is weak to taco sauce, which will purify her easily because I SAID SO." >Should I let a random person who has never previously seen my character Stopped reading there. If your GM isn't reading your character sheets ahead of time (at LEAST a few minutes before your session time), then they're a bad GM or like getting fucked in the ass by player complaints (meaning they're bad).
Bad GMs don't mean you should make shit harder for good GMs to do their jobs. It means you should stop being the retard that plays with bad GMs.
Lincoln Phillips
ಠ_ಠ "I accidentally left my lunch on the bus and was really hungry" isn't a good excuse for eating people. BY THE POWER OF THE MOON!
Thomas Williams
Hate to break it to you but the AMGC gms aren't that good or are new to the hobby. There is no GM I trust in this community to make a character breaking choice for me. It's not fun for me to have a random person take the character I love to play and remove the reason why I love playing her. I would argue that a good GM would respect that as well.
Easton Wood
And what do you fanatic have to say about my monster girl friend who specializes in empathy and feeds off dark emotions like anger and hatred ? By feeding she helps people get rid of all these destructive feelings ! That's definitely good for society !
Aaron Peterson
I think the user is from the roleplay half of the community. A lot of rp happens without any dm overseeing it, and in the irc at least, there's not one dm overseeing it all that you go to for advice or whatever. So I have to agree that it'd be kind of dumb for a dm to decide purification rules like that when that's usually just not how the community works. To each their own right? I like having more creative freedom even though it can lead to players and dms both taking advantage of each other.
Austin Ramirez
Depends on how you play. Most people tend towards a more generic kind of puchuu than just a carbon copy of Kyubey (assuming they even use puchuu in the first place, which isn't that common)
Logan Garcia
>Not every monster girl is bad. Lies!
Prepare to face my blade, corrupted wretch!
Dominic Young
>helps people get rid of all these destructive feelings >monster girl

I swear, is blood the only sweet thing that can come out of you ? ><
That's why I said not all monster girls are bad !
Carson Howard

This thread is full of Mong(rel) Cancer that refuses to admit there is something horribly wrong with it.
Now, being the glorious non-magic using bastard I am, many would think I would have to resort to chemotherapy and radiation treatment to cure any cancer. However, "soul powers" allow me to emit force onto matter naturally, so I can actually ignore your magic bullshit entirely and manipulate your biological structure while pumping enough naturally occurring positive energy back into you. I may have to beat almost to death first, so you lack the energy to resist, both physically and magically, however.*
*Only in a just world, where Creation is respected, instead of being the personal plaything of children who just end up breaking it and expecting mommy and daddy to buy them another one.
I don't RP here anyway. Can't actually stand seeing children suffer, being used as private soldiers, or not getting the proper medical or mental treatment they so desperately need.
Andrew Thomas
I-I don't know what you're talking about ! You don't even have proof that she doesn't exist !
Anyway, my point still stands. Good and Evil are not absolute values nor are they innate properties. A natural monster girl is not necessarily evil.
Evan Sanders
>specializes in empathy and feeds off dark emotions like anger and hatred
I have a Dark Magical Girl that does that to cultivate her plants.
James Evans
>Good and Evil are not absolute values nor are they innate properties As far as children's TV shows are concerned, they generally are.
>A natural monster girl is not necessarily evil. Natural monster girls are a bit tricky, but I'd say they should at the very least be barred from being truly 'Good'. Most should be Chaotic or True Neutral, or some kind of Evil.
Jackson Lopez
>Good and Evil are not absolute values nor are they innate properties. My sides have left orbit, Modern Westerner. They actually haven't, because I don't find it funny.
James Campbell
Good and Evil are also subjective.
Adrian Hughes
I agree ! As a True Neutral (or maybe a tiny bit chaotic) monster girl, I hope we can all be friends ! I've had enough of being a punching bag for magical girls in training just because my master finds amusing to not teach me actual magic. Seriously, what is the point of having two specializations if I don't know how to cast a single spell ?
Zachary Phillips
>Seriously, what is the point of having two specializations if I don't know how to cast a single spell ? Shit... thanks for reminding me I need to work on the spellbook. You're a vampire, right? Air + Time? Want me to post the Air section? It's pretty much finished.
John Hall
:V same thing bruh
Justin Campbell
>AMGC GMs are bad! Yeah, because all the "good" GMs went to the SCS. I can shitpost, too.
If they're not doing moderated mechanical play then why even bother complaining? I think they're just somebody bellyaching to stir shit.
Ethan Reed
Actually, I wasn't trying to remind anyone of anything. I was just ranting about my own rp.
I'm Ice + Darkness. It's pretty useful, even if I don't know actual spells, since I sleep in dark alleys.
Elijah Myers
Ice, huh? I always liked Ice spec, even though it got removed from AMGC. If it wasn't for the fact that the Water tree was half Ice spells, I'd be making an Oddball: Ice tree. In fact, I was thinking of making it so that Water specs could choose to be more Ice- or Water-oriented, which would grant a bonus to spells of the chosen element and a disadvantage on spells of the other one. What do you think?
Andrew Moore
why was ice removed in the first place id rather have it back so it could be like the cyoa specs not the same person btw
Joseph Carter
I'd like it back too desu If I got the opportunity to, I'd vote in favour of bringing it back
Hunter Diaz
>desu when will an hiro remove these damn filters
Noah Williams
>an hiro i don't wanna talk shit about mods... but is that awful meme still in use
John Foster
it's just easier than typing out his whole name desu
Brayden Garcia
I only used the cyoa and the patron expansion when I created my character. I did look over the other files but it was just a quick survey so I can't really say much about it.
I do like Ice as a whole spec even though I didn't choose it (it was what I rolled). It has a certain "feel" to it that I don't get with Water.
However wouldn't it be unfair for the other spec if only Water magic has a sub specialization ?
Ryder White
I wouldn't call a rabid dog evil... but it still needs to be put down. Some things just have to be dealt with.
Jeremiah King
Blame the fucktards who started the hot mess that is AMGCore.
It should have had a vote a LONG time ago. Too late to add to the voting ticket up now though.
Liam Miller
What an insulting metaphor ! I'm not even contagious, shesh ! At least, I don't think I'm contagious. It wouldn't make sense, given how I became like that.
Jonathan Bell
>It has a certain "feel" to it that I don't get with Water. Agreed, which is why I think it should be brought back. I guess the sub specialisation thing is just an attempt to do that without shaking up the whole existing system
Not necessarily. We made some huge changes to Shield and created Sunder. We've added a third table before which changed how we roll, and Zene was considering killing Cosplay back when she was in charge of the pdf.
AMGC is a community-run system. What we do with it is up to us.
Jose Sullivan
Actually in the 1.13 update voting titanpad there was an option to bring back Ice. For some reason it didn't pass but it was there. I wish Ice hadn't been removed too but what's done is done. Water is a cool spec with all the versatility now, I guess..? Meh.
Bentley Rivera
Sahara (and Ai-n) set an awful precedent by changing things without a community consensus in the first place. My fear is that the votes to overturn a number of Core-specific items simply won't pass because they've been present for so long. For example, I would remove the Corruption supplement entirely and propose an adaptation of monstergirls as presented in the CYOA Patron package. But. I know a vote for this would never pass. I don't believe it's because people think Quasar's monstergirls are bad... but because Core monstergirls have simply had more screentime.
The same applies to reviving Ice spec and removing Corruption as a rollable spec.
Isaac Morales
There's too much good and fun content in the Corruption supplement to just remove it. That's why no-one wants it gone. Quasar's monstergirls are fine for a writing prompt, but you need something more specific for a PnP system. Aside from balance, AMGC's Corruption is already perfectly fine for PnP. People have voted on reorganising the perk tables before, and I'm sure the worst parts of the pdf will be voted out in time.
