by finding a way to make their autism benefit the whole experience.

suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/18458666/

By not inviting them.

The socially inept sped type or the actual disease? One answer: kick them out.

Let them have some social lubricant, but don't let them drink anything with spirits in it.

Tell them to stop browsing Veeky Forums.

Especially Veeky Forums, Bobby!!

How does your group deal with you?

It depends on the person. It ranges from "like anyone else" to "not even inviting them"

How autistic are we talking here? High-functioning? Non-communicative? It's a spectrum, man. You have to take it on a case by case basis.

Came into this thread just to post this

Moderately socially retarded. Like people who post porn on inappropriate boards without understanding why that's bad.

I known and play games with a lot of people on the spectrum, and it does vary massively.

A lot of times, they're fine. Heck, some of the best players I know are on the spectrum, and while it can cause problems at times it's just one factor of who they are and doesn't outweigh what they add to the experience.

That said, I do know some people who are so highly autistic I would never invite them to a game. I do feel kinda bad, I know it can be rough, but for some people it's just so severe I can't see how they'd cope.

What annoys me the most, though? People on the spectrum who use it as an excuse. I have aspergers, a lot of my friends do, but we don't treat it as something we can use to explain our actions. If we fuck up socially, we apologise and try to do better, because learning from your mistakes is still possible and it's the only way to get better at dealing with people and social situations.

Which is why I have no fucking tolerance for the fucktards who will offend people, make others uncomfortable and generally be a complete shitstain without making any effort to learn from it. Half the time they're on the moderate end of the spectrum and they're just acting like an entitled douche about it, while people suffering much more severe issues actually put work in and become great players.

Sorry, I clicked the wrong fucking thing.

That's actually pretty awesome, shout out to Autismo

Oh my god, I..... I live like 5 or 6 blocks from that address....

You must live close to the high school.

I went to that highschool, yes.

You, or one of my family members, must be in the Navy, then?

No one in my family is in the Navy, no.

*one of *your* family members

We got your location and your IP address. We are coming to get you, user!

Sounds good, bring some beer. I'm sad and lonely.

Man, you guys must really like Chevy Chase over there.

He's alright I guess.

But I'm none of those things.

Just give 'em one of these

>tfw no autistic waifu
>tfw she will never feed you walkie-talkies as her separated head whispers softly into them from across the house

Maybe by not using our condition as an insult.

Belligerent behavior from mature autistics mainly results either because that person is an asshole, or because they perceive that you have attacked them in some manner. Avoid being overtly hostile until it's clear that they're jus being a little shit.

With children it's a different story, because normally their behavior is less a result of malice and more because the wiring in their brain is interpreting social cues given by others incorrectly.
None of those are symptoms autism. Please stop spreading misinformation.
They are, however, symptoms of an eccentric. Of course, there are MANY eccentric autistics. But it's important to remember that Eccentricity =/= autism.

This. I got a buddy whose high functioning autist and the only issue is that he drags jokes out way too long. Aside from that he has a super vivid imagination and is a lot of fun to play with.

its funny because this is a legitimate question

Perma-DM here, my rule is that there shouldn't be anyone more assburger than I am on the table.

and it's sad because
seem to actually be genuine suggestions

High-functioning - okay with them.
Low-functioning and entirely socially retarded - not at my table.

Seems like posting on /tumblr/ might be more your speed.
