>3 weeks since Hawk told me my missing/damaged KS bits were coming as soon as possible
>nothing

I don't want to get mad but despair is setting in

I'm still waiting on my commander pledge. Such bullshit. I need to get a PHR fleet as well. I love carriers.

Some people (including me) are still waiting for their pledge, be patient they take time. When I asked for some miscast resin stuff to be resent it also took weeks without a kickstarter,

You shouldnt expect replacement parts until after all the pledges have been shipped imo.

I feel you bro I pre order a PHR battleship 5 weeks ago still has not arrived

Battleships aren't out yet.

I don't even think battleships are even on the menu yet. The smaller stuff comes first and there's a lot of smaller stuff to get through. You'll be waiting a fair bit longer than 5 weeks, I'm afraid.

When are battleships slated for anyway? A Heracles is all I need right now to get me dream 2000pt fleet.

Shit the site I ordered from said they would be out at the end of October

Shipping notification GET! Commodore in Minnesota, USA. Just as I was starting to get impatient, too.

Hopefully it gets here while it's still warm enough to spray prime outdoors.

Captain in UK, still no sign.

At this rate we won't see BS or Corvettes until 2017

>mfw commiefornian

I am without fun
My models will never show
Sadness in my heart

Have faith fellow Californian. There's multiple US people in several states reporting getting shipping notices, even as recent as like 20 minutes ago.

What parts, oh blessed brethren?
SF here.

It is true, we have seeing more and more notices go out. We must pray more to Dave to save us. Bring forth the resin sacrifices.

>Yep, slow. Like bicycle helmet and a rag to catch the drool slow.

>I think Hawk has earned a new name... Sh!thawk, or as they are more commonly known, Seagulls. They make a lot of noise, but just crap on everything.

>t. Khell

He's not even putting effort into his shitposting even more, this is just /b/-tier.

Is it just me or are voidgates ridiculous? Every Shaltari battle report I see has the Shaltari having a crushing victory in VP's, even if their fleet gets demolished.

SF. Endgame Players pool.

Voidgates are going to go down like flies to Corvettes. They're more fragile than Strike Carriers, and the only means of deployment for Shaltari.

Alternatively, since Shaltari deploy less troops than others, you can always try to bait out a fight on some no-where objective, then sink the voidgate to strand their troops... and possibly nuke the city just to kill the spiny maggots.

Holy fuck, he is really going all out

The fact that he's at this all day makes me almost wonder if he's not actually like, an agent from some other company. Because he's putting vitriol that took 3 years to develop (for reals) in Robotech, over shit like boxes and just being an impatient fuck for shipping to be done with.

I heard Spartan has some beef with Dave...

Isn't that in Oakland?

Nah, if you go to his profile, then see all his comments, he seems to be like this for all of the fucking KS he's backed.

The think is you will always have a crap ton of gates. They don't explode from crippling. It will take 2 Santigos at least to take out one voidgate.

You are better off going for the motherships.

Yeah, but it's the only DZC/DZF community outside of Santa Clara that I know of. Join the facebook group and get some dropfleet games set up with people, if you're in SF!

That is kind of hilarious

How could he not know how it works if he has backed projects before. He is like a boy waiting to be spanked to get off.

Down in 831. My local store doesn't have much of a mini scene (being mostly populated by MtG players, who are just absolutely special people), but I'm still gonna do some demo games, maybe sell off the fleets I'm not interested in in the process.

I have faith in Hawk, mind you, but the wait is killing me. Should probably start on this massive backlog of Dust Axis, but I know as soon as I start digging into them I'll get my DFC stuff, and I can't do two projects at once, I'm just too autistic. So I'm in like a miniature fugue state, full of indecision and griping.

Gotta find a place to live first, but maybe after I can finally get around to finishing my spaceships.

> finally have income and finances to make tabletop army I've always dreamed of
> too busy with generic adult shit to do it
They didn't tell me it would be like this.

>They didn't tell me it would be like this.
No shit. I feel lied to. This whole 'living' thing is strangely difficult. Being here in CA doesn't help though - our dollars would go a lot further in just about every state.

Thread related, I'm torn between doing a WW2 ship dazzle camouflage for my PHR's smooth plates, or just painting them up with angry eyebrows and glued on googly eyes.

Both.

YOU MADMAN

I haven't even gotten my KS yet.

The zebras of angry, googly-eyed warships.

We are getting closer. It blows, but the wheel is moving forward.

As a rule of thumb, how many strike carriers etc. should a fleet have?

At 1500 the least you want is 1 Troopship and 4 carriers.

A lot of people are saying 2 ts and 6 carriers. Once corvettes come out they may prove right.

I like 1 and six.

How much this varies per army? Shaltari are a number of their own, but tjere seem to be great variance in both the cost, abilities and survivability between rest of the races.

Personally I'm expecting a ton of Emeralds in most Shaltari lists.

For Scourge its hard to say, since they could theoretically bring lots of gargoyles and just have them doing atmos runs with escorts that no other faction can match. I think one Chimera will be reasonable though. PHR I expect a lean to their troopships since they're so decent.

Another number that comes up a lot is:
1 troop ship and 2 strike carriers per 750 pts.

I find that 4 strike carriers works well as long as you have a way to deal with the bombardment ships your opponent may or may not take. Tanks are some good shit.

*at low point levels
To clarify, once you hit 1500 you'll want at least 1 troopship but just strike carriers can do well in a skirmish.

I'm starting a Scourge fleet, I've already built the starter fleet and i've got another box ready to build.
What stuff do you guys recommend to expand on the starter fleet?

Hydras. Launch Capacity 5 with possibly the best Bombers in the game and the fastest Fighters? Yes please I'll have two.

Some flavour of Battlecruiser wouldn't go amiss either.

I hope he's the only person espousing this brand of action cause while I'm annoyed at the delays I don't think taking hawk down via legal action is conducive to future dropzone/fleet anything. So frankly I'm annoyed people are even suggesting it.'

Anything wrong with just spamming PHR troopships?

He's an idiot who's declared he's 'through' with the game, so it couldn't hurt him.

Translation: He wanted to sell shit on ebay for more, now he can't.

Honestly, I don't see an issue with them. PHR Troopships are fantastic, and do the troop deposit job while also being full fledged cruisers, for what... like, 25 points more? Bargain.

>Bought 30+ scourge ships for £80 off ebay weekend before last and I can't even be fucked building them.

Oooo. 3-4 of us in the southbay (Game Kastle SC) are gonna be starting. Two are waiting on their KS.

So, Shaltari; How many motherships are needed at 1500? two or three?

I'd say 4. The guns aren't bad, the stats are good and you end up screwing anyone's day up who thought they could fight you on the ground game.

>4
user; that's nearly a third of your list as scoring units; not to mention the twelve voidgates which take up another 180 points.
3-9 is max, I'd say.

4 is a lot. The guns are good when you get to fire them, but they're also F(N) and motherships need to maneuver to keep the network up. You won't get to fire them off all the time, and that's a third of your list that has minimal combat ability.

I'd say 2 as a bare minimum, preferably 3.

>in the middle of detailing PHR, both DFC and DZC
>suddenly all my painting looks like shit
>realize it's probably just a self-doubting mood
>still end up dead in the water until I give up and go watch the snow fall
I should really get a lightbox together and start posting decent pictures, it's the only way I might feed my crippling addiction to feedback.

remember; all models look complete shit until you finish the very last detail.

He is right user. You gotta build those colors up and keep at it.

Anons

I know that your fleet should be made up for 90% Toulons.

But how many of Taipei-chan should I take? What is the right ratio?

Taipei-chan isn't as versatile as a Toulon, you need to actually plan how you're going to use her. She seems good for blowing up troopships in the midfield and protecting your own, and maybe a Taipei only battlegroup could work as a close range kill team. I wouldn't want to drag along other ships though, ones with decent CA tend to be really slow and most of them shouldn't be trying to get within 6".

>shipping is only taking a few weeks longer than expected since shipping started
>communication is sporadic, but present
>THIS is the KS that people have finally gotten fed up with, and are physically mailing Hawk about it
Wew, there really are a lot of normies that backed this.

I don't think this is normies, unless that's just a general purpose insult now. Normies don't have this kind of dedication to being a shitcunt.

And it's a vocal minority, they're just excessively loud and obnoxious as vocal minorities tend to be.

>normies
>not shitcunts at their core
Too bad that the vocal minority is the one that everyone hears.

A Taipei only BG does sound good as it would have a low SR as well. I could be a really strong quick reaction BG for when a enemy squad gets too deep into your line.

How many do you think we would need to be effective though? Could just two work? A pair 2D6+8 damaging on 4 and crit on 6.

Agreed. It has always been like 2-3 dudes fucking complaining.

A lot of other people are disappointed, but reasonable.

Yea that always happens. There have been a fair share of reasonable people talking their bullshit down as well though. And not the just the hawk is infallible echo chamber guys.

Yeah but it's a different kind of shitcuntery. Not the obsessive type.

Depends on how enemy PD is, I'd probably stick with 4 for the reliability. 6 seems a bit much though, since as frigates they're prone to chain explosions.

And it's really 2d6+10 since you can fire the gun too.

>Yeah but it's a different kind of shitcuntery. Not the obsessive type.
How many different breeds of shitcuntery are there? What are the ones that Australian psychology has identified?

There's fuckin hundreds, mate. I could write a book about them all if I wasn't such a lazy shitcunt.

So...

What were the EAA ships armed with? Lasers sound recent. Railguns were just on the verge of being phased in going by the Zhukov AA tank fluff.

DZC fluff about the battle of vega says they had mass drivers. Also said they had shields though, which we can probably assume to now be retconned.

Does anyone have any idea how to get the almost iridescent look that the scourge ships have?
The 'recommended paints' on the assembly guides just makes me think that it's numerous washes over a bright metal basecoat.

EAA had mass drivers. They were just less refined than the ones UCM uses. They were probably more massive and killy, but required more resources to operate.

The shield thing can be assumed that the tech was new for their advance military ships that was lost when the cradle worlds fell. Either that or they we not effective enough to warrant using at their current state.

The ghost tint paints work a little different than a standard wash or ink. Look them up on youtube to see how they work.

Chrome basecoat, black wash, minataire ghost tints.

>The shield thing can be assumed that the tech was new for their advance military ships that was lost when the cradle worlds fell. Either that or they we not effective enough to warrant using at their current state.

Probably this. I mean it's not like the EAA wouldn't have known about shields is it? They've seen the Shaltari use them for centuries. Hell, odds are with their Shields up is the only time the EAA ever WERE able to spot a Shaltari vessel.
It wouldn't be suprising for there to be some crude and largely ineffectual attempt to ape the technology at the time.

>The only things they could put inside the parcel to make me forget this is all the money I wasted on this, plus, fill in the blanks yourself but yubitsume is the only sincere form of apology.

Kej

>still reading the chucklefuckstarter comments
You're only hurting yourself, user.

I hurt myself so that I know I can still feel.

>Can you see why their apology rings hollow?

>literally a fucking autistic weeb

Guys I'm sure most of us come here as opposed to kick-starter comments because of the lack of moaney cunts.

Do you reckon we can stop turning into moaney cunts, moaning about the Mouney cunts

>Do you reckon we can stop turning into moaney cunts, moaning about the Mouney cunts
Absolutely ok_
I'll stop

Rate my double perth, thread.

dflist.com/s/#/share/73ba479233789

Lasers are sweet, but I'm not convinced you'll need four Limas. Maybe swap two of them for more strike carriers? The Viper is powerful, but you're still not going to be one-shorting cruisers with it unless the dice favor you. If you pair the shots; however, you're pretty much guaranteed the kill.

A double perth double Lima group could work, but that's a huge SR. 6 SC's and a troopship might be a bit much as well, don't you think?

Oh shit, the dev added text output.

Double Perth - 1500pts
UCM - 6 launch assets

SR15 Flag battlegroup (260pts)
1 x New York - 260pts - S
+ UCM Commodore (40pts, 3AV)

SR22 Vanguard battlegroup (464pts)
1 x Perth - 195pts - H
1 x Perth - 195pts - H
2 x Lima - 74pts - L

SR11 Line battlegroup (222pts)
1 x San Francisco - 111pts - M
1 x Madrid - 79pts - M
1 x Jakarta - 32pts - L

SR12 Line battlegroup (242pts)
2 x Osaka - 172pts - M
2 x Toulon - 70pts - L

SR4 Pathfinder battlegroup (142pts)
2 x New Orleans - 64pts - L
2 x Taipei - 78pts - L

SR5 Pathfinder battlegroup (130pts)
2 x New Orleans - 64pts - L
3 x Santiago - 66pts - L

On the other hand, a 2x perth BG can still work really nicely just on standard orders, and the BG being 2 different ships means its harder to focus them down

I wouldn't put the San Fran and the Madrid in the same BG. You probably want to hit separate clusters with them.
You might be a bit light on troopships too imo.

Eh, I think troopship+bombard in the same BG is a good idea seeing as how troopships can't deploy armor tokens. They need the bombard to soften up enemy positions and get their troops in.

Spartan is far too incompetent to pull off something like that. We're talking about a company that was suprised it's customer base did not scream in joy at the idea of a new game being developed instead of supporting existing products.

IT IS TIME

TIME TO WAIT SOME MORE

>Despatch

They're Bongs, bro, they speak dat dere proper english.

Where are you, and what pledge level?

>Still no notification for my two of everything order down here in cajun swamp land
>Other kickstarters which I have been waiting on less than this which have an equivalent scale are about to be delivering
>Want my ships more than anything

California, Commodore.

I tell you hwat mang them dang 'ol brits ain't got no idea how to speak proper english I tell you hwat mang.

Feels like your brawl is a single line battlegroup with two CL two FR.

I know you have the New York and 2x Perth but it still feels damn light.

Thoughts on my first Scourge list? My gaming club is starting at 1000 so people can get the hang of it.

--------------------------------------
Scourge 1000pt - 993pts
Scourge - 5 launch assets

SR10 Vanguard battlegroup (205pts)
1 x Basilisk - 205pts - H
+ Fleet Enslaver (20pts, 2AV)

SR12 Line battlegroup (309pts)
1 x Hydra - 140pts - M
1 x Chimera - 105pts - M
2 x Gargoyle - 64pts - L

SR12 Line battlegroup (266pts)
2 x Djinn - 86pts - L
2 x Strix - 180pts - M

SR5 Pathfinder battlegroup (193pts)
3 x Djinn - 129pts - L
2 x Gargoyle - 64pts - L
------------- dflist.com -------------

Is there a specific example of this or just in general? I wouldn't be surprised since Spartan is garbage but it could be mildly entertaining to see their responses from something like that.

>I wouldn't be surprised since Spartan is garbage
You know, I'm always mixed on Spartan. I loved Dystopian Wars, Firestorm Armada/Planetfall. But then I see their business practices, the way they very rarely get around to fixing anything, and the butthurt starts to pile up. The term "Love/Hate Relationship" has never been so apt, I think.

I wouldn't necessarily call Spartan incompetent. They just seem to have a regrettable issue with ADHD.

Firestorm Armada was half-abandoned when they released on Planetfall which was mostly abandoned when they released Halo Fleet battles which looks like it's going to be half-abandoned now that they're releasing that Halo ground combat game.

Firestorm Armada could be considered a 'completed' game though there was still room for more growth in interesting areas

Firestorm Planetfall was ultimately a confused game that wanted to be familiar and new all at the same time (trying to score some success off of the growing popularity of the relatively new at the time DzC but sticking to some old wargame tropes) and didn't really set itself apart very well.

Halo Fleet Battles feels like a streamlined 'easy' version of Firestorm Armada with slightly limited tactical choices when compared with other games of the same weight and genre. Though it does have some interesting and unique mechanics.

I don't know enough about the Halo ground battles game to make a comment on it.

Ultimately Spartan will go whole hog into one project at a time company-wise, but always seems to start shifting their focus before they manage to get a fully fledged product out the door, established, and expanded. And then there's their painfully slow track record of errata and re-balancing.

None of their games are 'bad' they just don't stand out very well in my opinion. I like Firestorm Armada, but that's partially because it was one of VERY VERY few space ship wargames that was in current production. From reading DfC's rulebook it's looking like I'll like it a LOT more than Armada.

Guys, I need to buy some of these Ghost Tint paints online and ship them to my country as we don't have them here (NZ). Whats a good site to grab them from?
