And of course, there's the new and improved IRC room at Rizon, #ACHQ
Jaxon Barnes
Ayy, good to see a follow up so quickly. Someone should get the factions list in here.
I'm probably going to roll a build up soon. For posterity, I'm not a very experienced rpg'er
Kayden Powell
Last thread, in case people want to retrieve their builds.
Jaxon Jones

Fuck it, here's my build. I guess probably Pheonix Collective, partly because of the colour of the suit, but also because being a freelancer seems like it suits her character.
Henry Cruz
Well, one more for the merry band. We still got room for the mission on Sunday, if you want. Four of the six slots have been filled.

I don't have a lot of art for power armor like the ones in this CYOA. Can you guys help me out?

tl;dr
Aliens drop various waves of pods. Half of humanity is gone, either dead or turned into their puppets. We scrape by with whatever survivors and equipment we can salvage, starting off with three counterattacks to key targets. One fails spectacularly, one turns out mostly okay, one was a ruse to get us killed which thankfully failed.
After getting that sorted out, everyone gathered in New Zealand, where with the help of the local military, we set up Armor Corps HQ. From there, it was like a slow game of Risk. Poking into enemy territory, scouting their forces, attacking when we could to slowly retake territory.
Earth was pretty much destroyed. Few cities still stood, and even fewer governments. Some places went full Fury Road.
But after two long years of slowly advancing on enemy forces and taking down key bases and commanders, we managed to destroy their landing zone in Israel. This forced the alien mothership back into orbit. The remaining Puppets on Earth (still a whole goddamn lot of them, about a billion people were turned during the invasion) are now a scattered mess with no leaders, somewhat easier to finish off. We still need to do that, kill the mothership, and deal with one last pocket.of intelligent enemy resistance that may or may not be their most powerful weapom yet.
After that, who knows what will happen.
Asher Reed
This... this doesn't look like a simple power armor thread, this looks like a PACYOA: TE thread!
Do mine eyes deceive me? Does the Armor Corps. ride once again on the winds on Veeky Forums?

Ivan never left. Mos of us never did, in fact. We just didn't use the IRC for a while.
And, I guess? I never considered it that good, but thanks.

How robotic can a pilot be? Say like: 80% robotic without, ya know, being infused in the suit?
Leo Murphy
It's possible but extremely rare. I think a player had to die to be brought back as a full bot, like Silver Knight.
Daniel Gutierrez
>It's possible but extremely rare. There's nothing saying that. As a matter of fact, most players have cyber brains, since it makes you pretty much unkillable.
Carson Hernandez
Like a robot body, but they still interface with the suit -- not really sure how to describe it but yeah.

That was the first time. The second was 'just' Double Up with Silver. Both of us became 2fast that day.
Wyatt Martinez
This is one of the upshots.
We've had a few characters survive via the Avatar purchase, one of mine started out with it in his backstory.
One of the big advantages of the avatar + cyber brain is duplicity of survivability.
Normally, a human pilot that takes cyberbrain has the benefit of in the event of the death of his body, his consciousness is already automatically downloaded and backed up within the suit. Then a cyberbrain can be reconstructed from the backed up memories and you are alive again within the machine.
Now, if you take an avatar and install the cyberbrain into it then this is even better.
If your suit is destroyed, your avatar is still alive with your cyberbrain in it, so you can live to rebuild your suit later.
If your avatar body dies, your suit still has your backed up consciousness, and you can still function within the suit.
Thus, both the avatar cyberbrain and the suit motherboard would have to be both destroyed to kill you.
Colton Mitchell
tl;dr Aim for the head and make sure to double tap. Always.
Juan Myers
Oh my god I forgot we're wanted fugitives. We DO need you!
See my primary motivation for cyberbrain was seeing "increased mental dexterity, memory, and learning speed" I feel like being smarter's a helluva force multiplier. All the other mega-excelent functionality it provides was just like a super-fantastic freebie
This doesn't have wings but it flies, is "speedy-looking," and I've always thought it was super BA.
Bentley Hall
And even that wasn't enough at times. You wanna kill a pilot, turn them into a pile of ash.
Jeremiah Ward
A question for the more expierenced pilots in the thread. Do you think giving up Berserker to get a Soldier AI is worth it?
Levi Ortiz

Probably gonna be in Hase Behörde, given the name and the nature of the suit.
Carson Morales
Yeah.
Takeda, my character, specifically has his avatar hide in another more stronger allied suit while his own suit is free to perform risky manuevers, sort of like a bomb disarming drone.
Anyway, I look forward to the very first mission someone intends to run. I think it will be good to play on Veeky Forums again.
William Sanders
Actually, aren't we going to have to run these missions on /qst/ now?
Angel Rogers
I forgot the most important use for cyberbrain! No one will have any way of knowing if your watching porn at any given moment.
>we'll still know
I can remember knowing one pilot who rolled without ANY AI but other than that (can't remember who it was tho). Other than that I think every other suit I've seen has AI
I don't know if I'd say it is or isn't worthy but it'd be edgy af.
>but not Olive type edgy which is probably for the best
Dominic Phillips
Eh, maybe?
This isn't a quest really, it's a multiplayer game in the sense of not collective voting for a single character in a story and is more based on actual players rolling for characters and PvE combat mechanics.
Depends on the mods disposition. For years there was always a separation between collective Quests and Multiplayer games even before the /qst/ split.
qst will be good for longer games.
Mason Johnson
What about it would be particularly edgy, besides combat drugs.
Christian Cruz
What's with the firerate on melee weapons?
The FR value for all of them are blank, and the "MFR" stat appears unused.
Basically I'm wondering how many AAs can I spend on swinging around my space sword.
Zachary Perry
I'm trying to remember if ranged FR at all was a relevant stat beyond 'this is how fast something like this shoots'. I think FR above a certain threshold gave you the opportunity to spend AA on another attack or something.
I think with melee it was a lot more abstracted. You could roll to attack with a melee weapon, but whether you went hackity-hack-hack or just gave a single good thrust into an enemy was just fluffed.
Xavier Ortiz
MFR is calculated using Dexy (1.5*Dexy) and it indeed lets you use extra actions to stab more people. Every 4, you stab an extra guy and every 12 you can stab the same guy again
Michael Diaz
Updated my build and even found a decent picture to compliment my need FOR SPEED
The lack of AI I guess, while all the other pilots have AI's making them preform better that they could on your own. Then there's that guy who not only feels like aim-bots are for casuals but also gets blasted on zerker nanites.
He'd be like the power armor using Amish.
>I am tired tho so it might not actually make any sense
Nicholas Gray

Nolan Morris
Nothing, unless you make it edgy. A ton of pilots had addictions like smoking or drinking or fighting after a while.
But crunch wise, the fact berserker has diminishing returns
Nathan Richardson
I suppose it is kinda like that. I'm just fond of the idea of a pilot not liking someone else making decisions for them, so they go to relatively extreme lengths to get to the point where they don't have to.
Mechanically, that is a problem. I'll probably just switch to having a soldier if I play the actual game.
Henry Hill
Thats exactly the kind of RP I like. Glad to have you aboard.
David Roberts
It's been a while but I believe MFR is still determined by Dex
How did the lovely bunch of fugitives and their secretive cargo fair?

Nah man, my suit is a four armed Taurus fortress with 4 swords. Hence why I couldn't find anything that looked like that
Isaac Hall
Four arms with four plasma swords? Didn't just do that?
Samuel Brooks
I did it before him, last thread
Julian Thomas
Not to say there is anything wrong with 2 peeps going 4 plasma swords
Colton Cooper

Which is more worth it: null field or bulwark?
I'm probably not going to join a game, but I'm trying to build a suit with durability first and foremost.
