>It's Sanguinalia Season Sub-Edition

NOT EVEN DECEMBER YET, user.

First for Dark eldar

It's always Sanguinalia season if you just believe, user.

Don't believe too much, though. You might not like what happens when people think about Sanguinus too much.

You walked into our trap first. You should feel honored!

Second time I've been faster than you.

There is more than one Dark Eldar player in this thread user.

>implying we didn't let you walk into a trap

Meant Dark Eldar posters in general, not that particular user.

SKITARII

Best Dark Eldar Kill teams?

Im either going 10 warriors with dark lance, Venom and archon

Kinda want to run a Raider with Dark lance instead of a venom but I've heard the venom is just so much better

Hearing a lot of stories on how Obliterators are a bitch to build, is this fair evaluation or am I listening to scrubs?

You've failed us, Kabalite. Stay put, the local Haemonculus will come and begin your ascent into a Grotesque.

Scourges with a Relentless Dark Lance or Splinter Canon is pretty legit. 4+ save at that, too.

people are talking about DEldar lists? noice

what do you guys think about two talos with hoemunculus rape squad dropping via webway portal?

Hey as long as they graft two dicks onto me im fine.

You won't even know what a dick is when they're done with you.

Look I dont care IF I forget what a dick is, as LONG as I have TWO I will be fine no MATTER what.

Relentless Dark Lance? You mean just a regular Dark lance?

Should I take 4 of those?

I dont know man but Obliterators look like just big single models to me.

Try fucking building and painting a reaver with 5 fucking guys on it, shits a nightmare, took me god damn 30 minutes putting all the little spikes and shit on it.

Raider* not reaver, god damn all Dark Eldar shit sounds the same to me.

Reavers look sexy as hell though, I love playing against Deldar

I just build 3 Reavers today, they are pretty sexy but holy shit is it hard to properly position the riders legs properly.

I mean they have a little ridge to put the legs in but it doesnt fit right, fucking took me 4 tries to get them somewhat in the right position and even then one of the legs is still in a weird angles.

I glued the riders together while they were posed on the bike without gluing the hands to the handles then just pulled them off the handles when the glue dried.

Fuck I should of done that oh well they are all glued and based anyway.

Pic related, heres the bad boy also I swear I thinned my paints I don't know why they look so unthinned.

I recommend grabbing some medium (NOT water, as it causes the paint to act funny at extreme thinness) and thin down your highlights a bit.

GW medium work? Have to pick up a grey for black highlights anyway, and yeah Its just so hard to make them thin even with the smaller brushes, guess I have to keep working on it.

19th or so for you folks arguing about glue need to get some LOCTITE. best squeeze bottle design, strong AF, cheap..

Remember. If it ain't LOCTITE, it ain't right.

Nah. Take a Darklance, make him your indomitable specialist, and pick relentless. Pic related.

The Blasters are Probably better for the other 3, though a Splinter Canon with Weapon Specialist - Reaping Volley is pretty good. However, then you miss out on a blaster ignoring cover.

Gw glue is the best though, I mean the container itself is perfect in its own right and its only 9$

Why the fuck would you want to buy cheap glue? Hell Mcdonalds hamburgers are cheaper then GW glue.

Or huck him on a ruin with good los and give him ignores cover.

That's a second option, yea.

Anyone know if the Deathwatch kill team set in the Death Masque box is the same as you'd get if you bought it separately?

Thanks Il keep that in mind user, probably going to buy scourges next, they are just a tad expensive at 80 points considering you only get 5

The resin ones aren't so bad, but the metal ones were a pain with their heavy arms that refused any help from super glue.

Scourges are pretty great in KT because of high mobility, good weapons, and a 4+, which is crazy for Deldar.

Otherwise, Kabalite spam could win just based on numbers. They might not be able to actually kill all your dudes.

Yeah I made the mistake of buying a warrior box before I bought the start collecting so now I have 20 warriors that I don't know what to do with so that might be a good option as well.

I need to make my veterans look like real bad dudes. two meltas, a heavy flamer, all shot guns and something shiny for the sargent.
Priest would be best if I want to get in to trouble with them just for the combat buffs, then maybe a power sword or maul on the sargent.
Or do I go with a commissar? I would have to down grade the sargent to going all gunslinger with a las n bolt pistol but I could go crazy on the commissar, bolter and power fist.

Should I even bother getting into Chaos Space Marines? or am I going to end up hating myself? Notice a gap of chaos space marine players in my local area and no one seems to have any real opinion on them except 'their shit'. I play nids so competitiveness is not really what I'm going for, however I don't want to invest in an army that i'm going to end up shelving after a few months.

Wait a week or two and get Thousand Sons.

>all these new battleforces and codices
>blood angels left in the dust
they're going to get killed off or combined with regular marines in 8th, aren't they?

>blood angles left in the dust

Shut the fuck up you guys got huge releases earlier this year if im not mistaken

Dude you like, JUST got a new supplement when traitors hate came out and they've been releasing plenty of blood angel kits. You ain't getting rolled into the Codex

Any confirmation on the new Thousand Sons? I thought we were going to get a battleforce, but those already got leaked.

Ork player here what are you complaining about

>they're going to get killed off or combined with regular marines in 8th, aren't they?
You guys had a white dwarf codex the fuck are you on about.
You'll survive it

Was the giant Magnus model with Thousand Sons written on the box, plus a plastic sprue confirming at least one other box not enough to confirm it?

In death masque?
Yea, it's the sprue from the deathwatch tac and assault marine boxes, and the DW dread sprue

New leaks? Been working too much, haven't been able to keep up.

Im really wanting to see what i can splurge on this year

Thousand sons are going to be their own codex with daemon primarch Magnus as a LoW.
Sisters of battle coming out early next year alongside 8th.
New keeper of secrets coming out along side a new daemons codex next year.

That's all.

As someone who started playing in September and is only just looking into the psychic powers available to my army may I just say WHAT THE ABSOLUTE FUCK
>Smite
>Spontaneous Combustion
>Psychic Shriek as a fucking primaris
W H Y

Yeah, psychic powers have always been a mess. When you could buy them seperately it was always the two or three same powers all over the place, now when you roll for them, most of the lores have never seen daylight and it's just all-in with gorillion psykers to get those 2 or 3 spells that are worth a damn.

any of you play that deathwing vidya? I kind of want to buy it

the local gamestore has dark vengeance on sale for 65 freedom dollars. I was wondering if it is worth me investing into that pack being a brand new person that wants to get into playing 40k

yes

If you are either into chaos or Dark Angels go for it.

would I be forced to play as dark angels??

Well, they're DA Marines, but I suppose not.

Kill team is a pretty good box set as well if you are getting started

You want the commissar. He's got good BS and WS and veterans are too important to reject cover saves.

Also, how does your sarge get the gunslinger special rule?

Why did you say chaos twice?

No, but if you are a total beginner having to shave off all the molded chapter iconography might be a bit much for the first project.
You could just paint the minis as a Dark Angels successor chapter though.

Swap the chains word for a second pistol.

>I have 20 warriors that I don't know what to do with

Practice your painting and test your paint schemes on them to get one you like.

That way when you get to your good models that you intend to play for a while, you're more likely to not fuck up and they'll look quite solid.

Someone in the last thread told me that summoned daemons could manifest psychic powers on the very turn they come in. I'm going through the codex and the rulebook and I can't find any reference as to whether they can or not, is there an FAQ I haven't seen or am I just blind and missed the page?

Point me in the right direction, please.

>Are they psykers?
>is it the psychic phase?

If you answered yes to. Both these questions, you can use powers.

Even though summoning treats the summoned unit as a deep strike?

I had been theory crafting a Death Korps + Mechanicus army list when I realized they ally as Come The Apocalypse and all my plans went up in smoke.

Onto the next plan...

Do they? Do FW have a different Ally Matrix?

All Imperial forces are BB with each other.

Death Korps get a uniquely shitty allies chart that allies with most Imperial armies as BB or AoC and everyone else as CtA, but neither of the Mechanicus armies existed when it was written so they're shit out of luck.

How does this Marine look fellas
Base: Lead Belcher
Layers: Gehenna's Gold and Runefang steel
Eyes @ Company Colors: Wazdakka Red
Shader: Nuln Oil
Underarmor: Eshin Grey
Power Sword Blade: Runefang Steel/Wazdakka Red Mix
Primer: Chaos Black

>thin your paints

Really a neat scheme though, I'd add some sharper highlights (Stormhost Silver is great imo) to the silver and small touches along the gold. The sword and bolter should be left in traditional colors, it makes for a better looking army.

Are you making your own chapter user? Got any ideas for the fluff?

Already ahead of you
They are the Granite Eagles. a Space Marine Chapter that was founded in the 35th Millenium as a of Raven Guard Successor Chapter that maintain a distant rule on a apocalyptic Hive World

>no backdrop
>not cropped
>2.2MB

Every fucking time.

At least you put the model down.

Look pal, I just spent three hours painting it, I don't really feel like doing that shit, not to mention he is my first one ever painted.

>spends 3 hours painting
>doesn't take the time to make a good picture

thin those paints

So I'm looking at building a second Chaos Warband and I'd like to make it basically just a bunch of insane World Eaters that chop people up into bits and then drink their blood from their skulls. Is the Maelstrom of Gore worth getting to start with? I figure 48 'zerkers can't be too terrible of an idea.

A bit of the rough and sloppy side. Plenty of texture on the legs that shouldn't be there, the wash has pooled and dried where it rather shouldn't. etc.

I said he was the first one I ever painted.

Red, stop it and thin your paints. You have red eye lens on your cheek.

user, you're on Veeky Forums. Take your criticism and like it, it's the only way to improve other than practice.

In all seriousness, it's the little things that matter. WIP would get in your shit about it, too.

Memes aside, the paint is thick, but it could be worse. Overall, the paint job could have been smoother.

And we are critiquing you, not attacking you.

>WIP

Are you fucking kidding me

your posting on the internet and people are giving you FREE painting advice and you are being so satly about it.

You want to stay the same with your shitty pant job and never improve? Why don't you show this to your mom and im sure she will only have nice things to say about it.

Your right, I am should just suck it up and take the criticism like a man..

The issue is not that you're thinning your paints, it's that you are loading up your brush too much. I personally use a Wet-pallette, which is properly configured will automagically thin my paints for me, simply by putting paint on the palette and spreading it around. But then when the paint is thinned, I clean my brush by scraping it through my water cleaning tub, suckle the tip in my mouth, and then put a little bit of paint back into the brush. Then with paint in my brush, I dip the brush into a paper towel to reduce the amount of paint in my brush to a more manageable amount. I know that sounds complicated, but it will stop people from screaming "THIN YOUR PAINTS" at a model painted with 99% water, when the REAL ADVICE IS TO PUT LESS PAINT ON YOUR BRUSH.

This is what happened when my friend posted the Doomscythe of mine he was painting.

I was just letting him do my Necrons to see if he liked painting but we got a kick out of some people freaking out.

Most were cool though.

I KNEW THERE WAS A REASON I HAD PAPER TOWELS IN MY PAINTING AREA

fuck thats good advice user thanks, currently working on my second one now so I will try and do that.

Also what is a wet-pallette and where can I get one?

World eaters is a path of nothing but pain and regrets. I'm sorry, user. I want to tell you it's good but they're so, so bad.

They're incredibly overpriced even amongst other overpriced chaos units

Their melee abilities are not hype - they have one attack base, two with CC weapons. After a charge, they lose all power. You will also suffer from casualties against anything that hits at I4 due to furious charge not providing the initiative bonus that assisted them previously.

They have no cost effective and useful delivery method whatsoever. Schizophrenic chaos land raiders are too expensive and will be focused to death. Rhinos are weak, are not assault vehicles, and if they are destroyed you cannot assault that turn. Which it will be, because no one will want to fight your berzerkers in melee.

Their only umph in melee comes from the champion who can be challenged out and killed or cross countered.

They have the same survivability as any other marine unit as a 1 wound 3+ armor T4 model. They just cost more than grey knights.

Please trust me, user. I too want nothing other than to see berzerkers be good. But I have watched my world eaters playing friend spiral into absolute despair, finally shelving his masterfully painted red killers permanently after the ten thousandth time they failed to kill anything, failed to make it to combat, or lost combat to things they have no business losing combats against.

I hear they're good in 30k now? At BEST you're looking at maybe penalizing yourself by bringing one small squad of them in a KDK list, and you will be hurt by their addition.

>>It isn't zerking time. Not anymore.
>>This is the saddest post I've ever made.

Do you know who Duncan is, and have you watched any video he has ever painted - this is the best advice I can give you because the man is a godsend for beginner painters, I swear to you.

Do people not have google anymore?

I got a brush cleaning solution, I swished my brush in a cap full and then dipped it in my water pot before cleaning it with a paper towel.

>I said he was the first one I ever painted.
user, yu want some full criticism here is it.
1. paint inside the lines, look at that shit, need i say more.
2. too much fucking wash. It's liquid talent assuming you can get it in the recesses
3. that sword. no.
4. (is that white on the details?, white is difficult to pull off, I build up from grey for a dirty look and to avoid chalking)

Tips
. i've heard it's best to work with the thing with the greatest surface area/ the things you might be most likely to accetently screw
It might be best to go for none metallics a bit more.
look at other companies

Yeah I googled and saw what it was, TG usually has incredibly good advice though so it was more of asking for the best advice rather than taking the top 3 links and combing through them with different opinions.

Okay, here's how to make a wet palette. First you need to buy the following
> Tupperware bin, just a medium sized one
> Paper Towels
> Parchment Paper

Now do the following steps
> Fold up a paper towel until it fits snuggly inside the entire bottom of the tupperware bin
> Fill the bin up to the top of the paper towel, until there is a thin layer of water on top of the towel
> Cut parchment paper into a square that is a little bigger than the bottom of the bin
> Place parchment paper on top of the paper towels, while folding up the edges of the parchment so that the layer of water does not spill on top of the parchment

And that's it. The towel holds the water in to stop it from evaporating, and the parchment creates a semi-permeable membrane that water and paint can go into, but not pass through completely.

If you put paint on top of the parchment, it slowly absorbs water from the paper towel beneath it, which stops it from drying out anywhere near as quickly.. Which in turn makes you waste less paint than you would with a traditional palette. So long as there is a thin layer of water between the parchment and the towel, your paint will never dry out, and the wet parchment forms a sort of seal that stops the water from evaporating.

A properly setup wet palette can keep your paint wet for as long as three days, and possibly even longer if you refrigerate it.

Thanks user thats incredibly fucking helpful, im saving this so I can try it out tomorrow.

I fucking knew there was a good reason to keep this thread open while I've been painting all day.

Also just want to say a big thank you to TG, you guys have made starting my Deldar force incredibly fun and easy thanks to your great tips. Its been a fucking tough month especially when my girl broke up with me during the Trump election but you guys have made it easier, so thanks a lot TG you guys are the best.

At this rate I feel like I am gonna have to strip him clean now.

Also I don't have white paints and I plus I admit, my hands sook a bit but I tried my best to fix it and I probably went a bit overboard with the Nuln Oil and I don't have anyother colors

As I only have The paints mentioned plus Kivlev flesh for Purity Seals.

DO NOT STRIP HIM CLEAN user

your first model is special, I still have mine somewhere, let him be a reminder of how far you've come!

I'm so sad now... I don't even know what to do now...

Maybe 8th edition will fix them after GW gets its head out of its ass.
