All dreams are built on a foundation, and it is upon that foundation that they crumble or soar. And when a man dreams of a city under the sea, free from both God and government, he should take care that ground below his soaring towers do not crumble. The city was place of dreams, to be sure, but one that needed constant care to prevent from sinking. Welding, replacing, refitting...the work was as repetitive as it was endless, and despite the rosie fellows who take care of it, there was certain work that necessitated human hands. Eventually, the working class cracked, and with them, the city.

An uprising began, and I was amongst them, destroying the very towers I helped raised, tearing down windows and walls to let the ocean take back her domain. Unfortunately, my moment of glory ended all too soon, when a bouncer sent me through two windows and an entire fishery mid-firefight. What happened next, I can't remember specifically, but I remember a familiar face in the market dragging me away...and then a sensation of travel. And then, I awoke to a blue that I once thought lost to me. Temujin, the man who rescued me, explained it all to me. Travellers, dimensional warping...and the fact that there are surprisingly few locations with such easy access to deep-sea fish.

Saved by sea slugs. So stupid, and yet, so lucky of me. Another district, another assignment, another wrong customer, and I might not have been sitting on the surface, feet planted in the dirt, learning of all the benefits this second shot at life would give me. As I breathed in that fresh air, sunlight warming my bones in that familiar way fluorescent lights could never match, it occurred to me-now, I could fly.

Got the bare minimum of what I wanted. Might be more ideal if point cap was 200. 40 points sound like a lot, but with all the choices available, it wouldn't make much of a difference.

My induction into the ranks was relatively quick and painless, as was settling Neo-Casiantinople, and so my new life began. I must admit, the capitalist nature of my former city wore on me, and my early days didn't garner me much friends, but rather, credits. In a world of marvels that eclipsed even Rapture, I, perhaps, like any man, sought that which would enable me to fly. No hoverboards or jetpacks for me, but rather, gravity itself. Those days were painful, but ever so worth it, in the few moments of success, I truly felt free. Once one with the sea, I now felt the pull of the sky.

Yet, the ocean, at the end of the day, is where I returned. More than accepting of a lack of free lunches, I picked up work with the Architects, my background lending me well to destruction of walls and defenses. Thrown into the fray, I found myself in alien landscapes and distant worlds, doing what I did best-breaking things. So, perhaps not the best of stories, or the most noble. But, I had to tell it. Alexis wanted me to, and I'll be damned if her suggestions don't lead to the best of things.

How do I feel about her? I like her, god, do I like her, for refusing to tear her eyes away from that dark abyss so stares into. That type of dedication outshines Andrew himself. But there's a hole in her heart, and here's the thing-I never was any good at building things.
