what do you guys thinks the ka'po'tun tiger dragons would look like?
Matthew Watson
Just a heads up for everyone here who is interested in UESRPG, but isn't following things too closely: we've picked up a bunch of folks for the team, and we're doing a new edition. We have the manpower, motivation, and justification necessary to make it happen.
We don't intend to deviate too dramatically from some of our core mechanics (it's still d100, for example). But the goal is to streamline and simplify both the process of learning and playing the game, while maintaining much of the cool stuff that makes it interesting, as I'll be the first to admit it's a clunky bastard.
I'll have details soon. You can check out the subreddit if you want the full speech, or visit our discord (via our link in the OP) if you want to help out or just shitpost about cliffracers.
I for one am super hype about where things are going. We're gonna make TES P&P great again.
Landon Thomas
Can someone explain meridia to me?Also why does she likes ayleids and hates undead?
Tyler Nelson
Great news! Praise be!
Jason Thomas
...
Owen Edwards
Meridia is a cunt and the ayylmaos are also cunts. They're also pretty good at not dying to be raised as the undead, unless you involve magic terminators.
Isaac Edwards
Meridia, or Merid, or Merid-Nunda, was a follower of Magnus, a Magne-Ge, Magna-Ge, or Get.
She held the whole of the blackblock under her hood, but then her dad kicked her out for consorting with illicit spectra.
Julian Wright
Is Peryite an aspect of akatosh?
Dylan Peterson
Maybe?
At this point even Mora could be.
Parker Price
Like really big cats.
>we're doing a new edition That's fucking great, I'm looking forwards to see what you guys come up with.
Will you be updating the supplements as well, and are there any new ones planned?
>explain meridia Her dad caught her hanging with the wrong crew and threw her out.
Isaac Wright
>Will you be updating the supplements as well, and are there any new ones planned? I think it is mentioned on r/UESRPG that they will be polishing them.
Brandon Harris
Exactly how is Zenithar a warrior god? He's lel happy merchant god, nothing about him involves battle.
Adrian Thompson
He's a labor God, and soldier is also a job.
Dylan Lopez
Because he's a combination of multiple agricultural and war deities.
David Sanders
>He's lel happy merchant god How incredibly Cyrodiilic of you to think that.
Zenithar is above all the God of Work, Toil and Labour, a god of soldiers more than a god of warriors. Seeing him as having to do with the merchant class is more of a regional thing, he's just as much an agricultural god.
David Thomas
Killin' is work
Joshua Cruz
I hate elves.
Jordan Allen
Pelinal please go
Landon Ortiz
Soldiers do more than kill, they also build shit.
Trenches, bridges, and the like.
Benjamin Scott
Talking about Ysgramor the Dragon last thread get, we touched on the whole theme of "doing is being" that's somewhat of a metaphysical truth in TES.
While on a different level, this combination of believing, being and doing is something that's pretty prominent in Khajiiti religion and culture..
The interplay between Fadomai and Azurah in traditional Khajiiti faith is echoed in the relationship between Clan Mother and Favoured Daughter, with religious secrecy to mirror their stories of the divine.
Baan Dar is a god, but he's also a concept/symbol, as well as being a way of life. One can believe in Baan Dar, one can believe in what Baan Dar represents, and if one does like Baan Dar, one can "be" Baan Dar.
Riddle'Thar is a god in one sense, and his avatars can walk Tamriel, but he's also a concept of cosmic order, which in practice is really a set of guidelines about how to live. Believing in Riddle'Thar is in a sense the same as acting according to Riddle'Thar, or even "being" Riddle'Thar.
The ja-Kha'jay is a religious concept, but it also decides your appearance, and it has been the basis for a system of governance, the phases of the moons deciding which parts/regions of Khajiiti society are dominant. The Mane is both the religious and political leader.
Even names are kind of related, since it's common to take a name describing what you do. You are Jobasha (Basha the Scholar) because you do scholarly work.
Sebastian Hill
Do any of you actually have any of the stuff from The Restless League, and if so do people ever ask what it is?
Oliver Thompson
>Will you be updating the supplements as well, and are there any new ones planned? We're going to update them, and we do have one new one planned as well. Pic somewhat related.
Elijah Cruz
So Zenithar is a socialist? Arming the proletariat and all that?
Lucas Edwards
...
Xavier Evans
also god of commerce. so a filthy capitalist jew.
Joshua Lewis
What gods/panethon would you worship /tgesg/? I can't help feel drawn to the Tribunal. Despite being a fairly selfish group, they did protect and allow Morrowind to prosper.
Carson Morgan
>glorifying daedra worshippers May Stendarr's mercy be upon you, for the Vigil have none to spare.
Ryan Turner
There are two different tribunals. Be specific. >implying the vigilantes are a danger to anyone but themselves
Jose Edwards
Sorry I meant the ALMSIVI one
Colton Price
Hircine seems like a nice guy.
Ian Turner
Praise Azurah.
Carter Bell
Are Nords slavic?
Levi Davis
Not really. Maybe they share some aspects of Slav-folklore.
Thomas Morris
No they're Nords
Julian Richardson
Those "aspects" were never slavic in origin.
Luke Lewis
Azura, she seems like a firm but caring patron. Certainly not the 8 chumps who thought worldbuilding with the trickster god wasn't going to be a ruse.
Xavier Cruz
there is only one god
Isaiah Edwards
Akatosh. I like dragons, but I also like time fuckery.
Cameron Rivera
I fucking love this OP pic
Bentley Barnes
I believe you can thank Madmartigan for that. He's one of the long time UESRPG guys, and our resident shitposter.
Anthony Reed
>caring >"hey so these couple of guys are assholes, let me just curse an entire ethnic group of people." >"hey so im going to let a bunch of these people get killed because they worshipped the wrong gods." >"i could totally appear and help this dude fuck up this masked freak but im just gonna watch and give him a thumbs up when hes done." Oh boy do I wish Azura was my mother
James Sanchez
>using a torch in the orrery
Gabriel Allen
Don't forget her all around bitchiness in Daggerfall
Bentley Murphy
>"Hey so these couple of guys are assholes, let me just curse an entire ethnic group of people." *changed their skin tone to remind them that there are consequences for being assholes >"Hey so I'm going to let a bunch of these people get killed because they worshipped the wrong gods." I'm not sure what incident you speaking of, but punishing traitors is part of her firm aspect >"I could totally appear and help this dude fuck up this masked freak but I'm just gonna watch and give him a thumbs up when he's done." Could she though? Either way, you wouldn't grow as a person if your mother did everything for you. She acts as guide not a nanny.
Jordan Brooks
The Aedra obviously, I'm not a criminal, or a heathen.
Bentley Cox
Guides you to worship her without question or free will even though the other gods all have their own merits more like.
Tyler Morales
What kind of limp wrist god doesn't? Pantheons only allow that shit because they can leech worshippers in a package deal.
Samuel Sanchez
Friendly reminder that Daedra do not care about you, their followers, or anything that does not further their own desires. Do not trust a creature that requires a ritual to speak to it. Please report any strange lights or noises to your local order of Stendarr. Thank you for your time.
Jose Perry
He explaimed it all to me. Before, when I still understood. I don't remember, but I still know.
Tyler White
Don't waste your time paying lip service to impotent corpse gods. Seize power and ensure your safety from the Daedric uprising.
Lucas Hall
I worship Kynareth, the patron Aedra of my home the great city of Daggerfall unequaled in the Illaic Bay. She provides the auspicious wind during the campaigns against pirates and Orcs.
Jose Perez
>not just worshipping your own ancestors Old Ways Best Ways.
Jackson Fisher
Alright /tgesg/, Were the Ayleids just an offshoot of the Aldmer or were they Bird people? some sort of Hybrid?
Liam Lopez
My take on it is that early Altmer settlers assimilated burb people and adopted parts of their culture.
Alexander Price
Bird people? What do you mean?
Cameron Torres
Topal the Pilot was enchanted with the islands And the feathered men who lived there. There the Niben stayed for a moon, and the bird Men learned how to speak their own words, And with taloned feet, to write. In joy for their new knowledge, they made Topal Their lord, giving him their islands for the Gift. Topal said he would return someday, but first he Must find the passage east to Firsthold, so Far away.
Jason Gutierrez
They're Norse, you moron.
What's Veeky Forums's fascination with having to constantly identify slavs and slav-inspired things?
Luis Hill
They are elves, a break off from the Aldmeri way. Upon their rediscovery by the Altmer, they were perceived as bird people, because they had grown that estranged.
Ethan Cooper
tell me about the Bretons, Veeky Forums
James Perry
+Naturally talented in magic +Best-looking man race +Slaughtered dirty mer -Shortest man race -Culture leans on "generic fantasy"
Julian Gray
Ohhhkay, being the King of Rape is part of Molag Bal's aspect, doesn't mean his worshippers should get all giddy when a Daedroth bends one of them over the altar
Brandon Nelson
>-Shortest man race Proofs?
Cooper Bennett
>worshipping the god of rape without a rape fetish shiggydiggydoo
Gabriel Martin
Why not both
Ryder Lewis
They always seemed more Celtic until Skyrim
Jayden Bailey
>Best-looking man race Nords are fucking beautiful m8. It's a race full of Thors and David Hasselhoffs. the games
Leo Howard
Male Bretons are the same height as Imperials, Redguards, and Dunmer. Female Bretons are the second shortest just behind Male Bosmer.
Xavier Ward
I distinctly remember playing a male Breton in Skyrim and being, like, chin height to female Nords.
Jose Myers
Nords are the tallest human race.
UESP lists the height for all races in Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim in the Races section. Bosmer females grew taller than males in Skyrim for some reason.
Ryder Reyes
Is Hammerfell (with Thras as an expansion) the best possible setting for TES 6?
Bethesda going bankrupt before they can make TES6 would be the best scenario.
Carter Nguyen
Whats the plot? Ebonarm? Sword-singing?
I rather want them go WEIRD like in morrowind. Elsweyr or Valenwood.
Parker Reyes
> rather want them go WEIRD like in morrowind Not gonna happen.
Zachary Williams
She was one of the Magna-Ge, the Aedra who managed to flee before being trapped in the mortal world.
After being severed from the veil of souls she hates anyone who would do that to another person and thus wishes to return the souls of the undead back to their place I.e. she wishes to free souls trapped as unread or trapped by necromancers.
She was kicked out of the Magna-He for "consulting with illicit spectra" which may mean one of the following: She banged some Ayelid dude. She was buddies with a daedra. She had contact with some other spirit in the veil we know nothing about.
Angel Kelly
Because Female Nords are taller than average height.
Brayden Butler
If anything wood-elves are Slavs. Weird, violent , backstabbing , squatting in the woods oh and they steal whatever they want.
Leo Phillips
>Nords are fucking beautiful m8. It's a race full of Thors and David Hasselhoffs. Eh. Most of them look like Chin Man with an extra chromosome. Not that any race in the games really looks better. Besides, I'd say I like how Breton Women look more than Nordic women regardless of height. Runa is a qt, though. Bosmeri men were always the shortest, but they seem to be getting less short in each game. Personally I like the height discrepancy between Bosmer.
Caleb Peterson
Oh, so, Bretons and Imperials are "average," and it's just Nords who are unusual?
Hunter Johnson
Pretty much. Bosmeri women, Argonian women, Redguard Women, Khajiit men, and Dunmer of both genders are also average height, known as 1.
In Morrowind, Nords were the second tallest race, just behind Altmer. Orcs were shorter than Nords.
Magnus would be a huge one, since I'd want to be a mage.
Dibella and Mara seem nice, as well as Phynaster and Y'ffre if I'm a Breton.
Michael Baker
Nords have several cultural influences from vikings to germans to baltic people who are at least somewhat slavic, to scots in morrowind with the accents and the Woad Paint and even hungarians in skyrim in the name of Farkas which im fairly sure is Hungarian (vilkas beeing something from the baltic languages if im not wrong)
Races in TES dont directly relate to a real life people and you shouldnt make that mistake. Nordic burial traditions are positiveley chinese to name one aspect.
As for a direct Slavic pendant the closest you get is Colovians, see Rislav Larich for a very slavic name, even tho the game is mostly known for its Badlore, if you check out oblivions names for norhtern imperials you will find quite a few slavic sounding names in Colovians.
Either way dont listen to people saying "X TES race is just Y", especialy not if "Y" is "Vikings".
There are theories that the Ayleids bird obsession comes either from these natives or that those bird people were in fact the Ayleids, tho the later theory is generaly considered the more boring one and thus discounted.
>Wood Elves That would require them to be anything other than cavemen tho. Bosmer simply lack the architectural, technical and industrial skill to even resemble any modern culture.
Kayden King
she also made the khajiit. That alone makes her based.
Isaac Russell
Talos. A man so powerful and awesome he ascended to godhood? How do you not worship him?
Nolan Edwards
;_; fucking todd
Joshua Green
>;_; Don't.
Landon Martinez
(User was reported to the Thalmor for this Post)
Brayden Harris
>How do you not worship him? By worshipping the Tribunal.
Dylan Moore
Intelligent, nihilistic and with a wicked sense of humor.
Chase Hernandez
I would follow Hircine, hunt wild Beasts and impress cute Bosmer chicks.
Azurah and her "sisters" are just too much work. (But okay if you stay loyal i guess)
I mean Meridia seems "good" but is just angry all the time.
And Nocturnal has assburgers.
Sheo & Sanguine are more fun than i could handle.
Pery is nurgle-lite.
The other Daedra are dicks. And Aedra are too passive.
Bentley Parker
Are you a goddamned fool or just a troll? Nords are the tallest human race in every ES game. Why would you consider them to be 'average'?
Camden Gomez
>he doesn't want to put salt in the jarl's sugar jar in the name of Mehrunes Dagon
Dominic Wood
>Her clit is a dick Fucking Daedra.
Gabriel Fisher
I find it weird that she is friends with Ayleids, as many of the sorceror kings like to use necromancy a lot
Elijah Baker
>nihilism
Nathan Thompson
Why are Nords in the game always represented by a Female Nord when in the History of Nords the women haven't done much? Nearly every Nord king of note was a male, from the First Empire of the Nords to High Kings.
