How long have we been accepting rides from clowns instead of staying the fuck away from them?

DA ORKS GOT HERE THIRD, WEZ FASTER THAN THE STOOPID ELDAR.

Since they're fun

Tell me 40k General:
Played any games recently? Plan on playing any soon? Worked on anything lately? Getting any cool stuff for Christmas?
Also, bonus question:
So how do you all think Failbadon will mess uo the 13th black crusade?
Who will be the next primarch to come back?

>DA ORKS GOT HERE THIRD, WEZ FASTER THAN THE STOOPID ELDAR.
>THIRD
>second post
Good for you

AFAIK, just a meme at this point.

IA14 in March, working on it :)

NTH FOR MAGNUS DIES LIKE A BITCH TO DEREDEOS WITH WAR ON MURDER.

Assembling a Word Bearers Land Raider. Painting it will take a while because of the sheer amount of bling expected of me to put on it. Planning on getting Traitor Legions.

>Not 'Use psilencers on magnus' edition.

one job op

Repostan from last thread.
Anons, last I heard there was some muttering about Dark Mechanicus and IA14. Do we have any leaks from IA14/Ideas about whats going to be in it? I want new toys :)

>Played any games recently?
No :,(
>Plan on playing any soon?
I hope
>Worked on anything lately?
I wish
>Getting any cool stuff for Christmas?
Don't think so
>Also, bonus question:
>So how do you all think Failbadon will mess uo the 13th black crusade?
Ynnead sucker punching Slaneesh
>Who will be the next primarch to come back?
Mortarion most likely, but Russ do have a miniature now

>rule says single enemy unit, monstrous creature or vehicle
good thing Magnus is a flying monstrous creature :^)

Doesn't stop me from once killing Bel'akor before the game even began at a tournament. That shit's hilarious, because FUCK YOUR PSYCHIC BULLSHIT.

Good thing they count as Monstrous Creatures for all rules purposes.

You cheated if you used it on Bel'akor since he's a flying monstrous creature and the rule only covers monstrous creatures

See this post

>not trapping fagnus with 4 drop pods right next to a culexus
The FMC can not escape the spooky skeleton if you disable his wings

I played my Orks vs my friend's Tau, 1000 points.
Yes, we're moving up to 1500 points next saturday.
I bet ol' gazzy will smack him up.
Either the Lion all cyborg'd or wolf Russ.

Show me in the rule book where it says that

Magnus only loses two or three wounds on average from Lias Issodon.

Nonetheless IS possible for Lias' crew to snipe him dead before the game begins, even if less than likely. Which is hilarious.

How do you expect this to work exactly?

Poorly.

Even if Lias Issodon fails to snipe magnus before the game begins, Magnus still ends up starting the game with 2 or 3 less wounds, making him more vulnerable. If you're going first, there's good chance that can lead to a turn 1 frag of the big red dude himself.

Literally right on the FMC page you retard.

eh, he can start off the board, and fly on turn one, negating your attack, and losing nothing

Proove it

...

But it doesn't say they count as monstrous creatures for rule purposes

Here's your (you)

regular weapons should hit flyers on 5s, and skyfire weapons should hit non-flyers on 5s

this all or nothing thing is super bullshit

>IA14 in March, working on it :)
Whew, I hope the flying riptide wing isn't as terribly underpowered as GW's vanilla riptide wing.

how does he get on the board turn one? there are no "roll reserves on the first turn" shenanigans in CSM I thought?

Except 1 to 4 turns in reserve while the other 2/3s of your army has to fight the enemy with no support.

>flying monstrous creatures are monstrous creatures that have a number of additional rules
>doesn't say they count as monstrous creatures for purposes of rules
The only related things they share are special rules

Thank you user, I am truly grateful you posted this.
No sarcasm.

if you are just walking onto your side you can do it turn one. its only if you are DS, or outflanking you need to roll

It does though

>Flying monstrous creatures are monstrous creatures

Have the rules from the Traitor Legions supplement been leaked yet?

Try reading the rules next time

And then he suffers from Lias Issodon's reserve shennanigans. Enjoy being delayed by an entire turn. Possibly more if he also has a Callidus to make it a 7+ roll needed on turn 2.

What?

You have to roll for reserves and can only start rolling from turn one.
Are you sure you're not thinking of last edition?

How would Veeky Forums represent the Sisters of Cydonia?

wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Sisters_of_Cydonia

they are monstrous creatures isn't the same as they count as monstrous creatures for purpose of special rules

Possibly. its been a while since i played vs the dark eldar guy who used to do that

this is why 90% of the official FAQ is "actually read the rules you fucking idiots"

...

They don't have to count as something they already are.

You are very technically correct: Being something and counting as something are different. One is actually directly being some thing, the other is merely having the relevant rules applying despite being something else.

But either way, the rule applies.

>loses an argument
>B-B-BAIT, Y-TOU MUST BE TROLLING, RIGHT?
Raptor user on suicide watch!

turn two*

Flying monstrous creatures aren't monstrous creatures
Why do you think one has the word FLYING in the name
It appears you can only follow rules if it applies to your WAACfaggotry

...

Should I just give in and buy a Heldrake? I never really liked it because it looks like it should be able to fight in close combat, but it can't even hover.

If so, how can I convert it to be Tzeentchier?

>Book says flying monstrous creatures are monstrous creatures

>Random user says they're not

Sure buddy.

Well enjoy firing only one weapon and being int 1 from unwieldy then.

Wow this thread is off to a Flying start

Theoretically?
>infiltrate scout bikes with locator beacon and culexus
>place drop pods around magnus, trapping him as he can't move within one inch of them. Ensure no scatter because of scout bikers
>walk culexus up to magnus, take away his main advantage, ensure he only has 4++ reroll ones
>use deredoe to ground magnus
>next turn charge him with the levithan dreadnoughts you had in the drop pods
>let snippy snippy do it's work
>???
>profit

In practice?
What this guy said
Be fun as hell to try to do though.

It may say that but they don't count as monstrous creatures for purpose of special rules such as monster hunter
Which is why normal monstrous creatures are better than flying ones

Flying is a movement signifier, the same way jet pack or jump pack units are also another unit type, like assault marines being jump pack infantry or a wraithknight being a jet pack gargantuan creature. Refer to the entry that was posted and note that monstrous creature was capitalised in it despite not being a proper noun. That's because it refers to the unit type monstrous creature, the statement is not some fluffy descriptor but an actual rule.

Also if you're gonna be this deliberately obtuse in your interpretation of a rule, don't call people WAACfags.

Which is why you only take flying monster for their psychic powers, they're worthless otherwise.

Fuck your puns user.

He can move within1" of them because he's Flying. He just can't end his move within 1".

It literally says, in the first line of their entry 'Flying Monstrous Creatures are Monstrous Creatures'

How are you this dense?

>implying jet pack units are the same as infantry or jump units

>you pack your army back realizing why that guy was sitting alone in the corner and nobody wanted to play with him
Here is your (you)

RAW is "Flying Monstrous Creatures are Monstrous Creatures."

You lose.

>because being a monstrous creature doesn't mean you count as a monstrous creatures, duh!

I'll say it again flying monstrous creatures are monstrous creatures is not the same as flying monstrous creatures count as monstrous creatures for purpose of special rules

...

Right back at (you), WAACfag.

>this rule affects monstrous creatures
>flying monstrous creatures are monstrous creatures
how does this not compute for you?

I really hope you aren't as retarded as you are acting right now for your sake

see

You're right. They don't need to "counts as" anything because they are unequivocally that thing in the first place.

Except I did that at no point in my post, I only said that jet pack and jump pack are applied on top of a unit's type in the same way.

By that logic monstrous creatures aren't monstrous creatures then, as they don't have a rule that says they count as monstrous creatures.

True, true. So the solution is to make it so that there's a wall of drop pods surrounding him up to 24” away in all directions, with only enough room for the culexus to get at him.
It was a joke at first, but now I actually want to see just how many pods it would take. And how many levithans that would be charging him.

>monsterous creature is X
>flying monsterous creature is Y
>rules that effect X don't effect Y
Is this hard for you?

Check the newest official BRB FAQ on gargantuan creatures. They use the exact same wording, and are affected by anything that affects monstrous creatures

Yes, exactly, they're flying monstrous creatures.

>Recent games
Nah, been busy on Saturdays for the last month, been a real pain.

>Planned Games
Going back to the GW this Saturday, hopefully can try out my new Dragoons.

>Working on
My Ranger squad is verrry sloowlly being painted up. Built 6 Kataphrons, a Kastellan unit, two boxes of Sicarians, a Chimera, 10 Inq Acolytes and 3 psykers and two Dragoons since then, be a hell of a job to paint them all by Xmas in my new Xana colour scheme.

>Xmas toys
Hopefully getting my first 30k army in some Mechanicum. Going to be Legio Cybernetica to ally with my 40k Mech in March as well as 30k, going to kitbash me up a Scoria.

Man, I've only been playing 40k since august and I have a real backlog of stuff. Maybe it's because I find building, converting and playing way more fun than painting.

It's their unit type retard
but they are not

>monsterous creature is X
>flying monsterous creature is X, but also has Y
>rules that effect X also effect Y
Is this hard for you?

If we're gonna shit around this thread then Cataphractii terminator captains can take bikes

...

There's nothing that say "FMCs are Y", there is however a rule that says "FMCs are MCs which are X"

But not any terminator weapons.

Nope, unless you believe the ancient leak is legit.

:( since when did anons hate puns

Flames. Eye searing paint job.

The rulebook in no ambiguous terms fully and objectively disagrees with you.

Enjoy being either literally retarded or a friendless cheating asshole, though.

So?

>New plastic armless failure coming soon edition
Does that mean the ebin armless maymay is finally going to die?

>WAACfag
Jokes on you I play deldar I never win

>Loses argument
>B-B-BAIT
But the same rules such as monster hunter don't apply to fmc's
But it doesn't I'm sorry that you're an illiterate inbred hick who's a WAACfag
It doesn't say they are also X for purpose of special rules it only says they are also X

Makes it difficult to make a super smashfucker.

I have enough pics in this folder to last the entire thread mah nigga.

>Same rules as Monster Hunter don't apply

Monster Hunter applies to Monstrous Creatures

FMCs are Monstrous Creatures according to the rulebook

Therefore Monster Hunter applies to FMCs

Ever since they stopped being funny.
