Modern earth in 40k

via some terrifying contrivance, the Sol System of real life, including earth and everyone on it has been transported to the Milky way of the 41st millennium, near the border of Imperial and Tau Territory.

what do you do?

what do you think will happen?

Trump is revealed a primarch?

Pray we join the Imperium instead of the Tau because plot armor doesn't exist in real life and I don't want to be a human on a planet taken by Imperium that willingly joined the Tau.

the more dangerous fanatics on this world are instant targets for warp manipulation, our world is put under instant scrutiny for its freakish resemblance to ancient terra, religious drama as the imperium attempts to correct the holes in our faith, not to mention investigating the mysterious knowledge of their reality being distributed from Notingham

Such heretical knowledge might just get our planet glassed

Wouldn't that mean that the 40k setting is fundamentally altered because Terra and everyone on it disappeared 38,000 years in the past?

No, its the Terra of our universe, where WH40k existed only as fiction, its sort of like those kids movies where the kid enters the cartoon or enters the video game

Probably not. The Inquisition has people for this sort of thing.

First GW would be infiltrated/coerced and make a lot of stupid decisions that put it out of business to cut off the initial point of contamination.

Next comes the finding of the hubs of activity that the initial GW outbreak caused. Discussion forums, conventions and tournaments would be set up with the intention of luring and tracking the infected.

Once the effort to target acquisition ratio starts to produced diminishing returns on effort the forums and social gatherings would be shut down one by one for no obvious or connected reasons.

Eventually the knowledge of "40K" would fade from widespread circulation and would not propagate from host to host. People would die with the "unimportant" information rather than spreading it.

Of those hard few who remain to keep the knowledge circulation unconnected seeming accident and misfortunes would befall them. Anything from traffic accident to cancer.

Whilst this is going on published works would be removed from production and print for reasons of "no demand for product".

Eventually the information of "GW" and "40K" would be obscure and of no interest to the public at large and would then be safe to delete with no one noticing it had ever even been.

Once the target information has been eradicated totally records of the eradication would be expunged from the records of the Inquisition. Agents would then attend mind-scrub sessions before finally the sanctioned psykers exorcise the information from their own minds.

No knowledge of the "40k" or knowledge of the removal of that knowledge will remain.

It will never have been.

fully embrace the imperium, spread the imperial creed, try and convince the fleet in orbit that shitskins are heretics and need to racially wiped out, live in intergalactic whitetopia and serve the emperor by applying for a commissariat position

>The fleet in orbit is Catachan
>They decide, no earth, you are the heretics

they probably wont get the connection between this earth and holy terra honestly considering the disconnect in time and events

some areas may wind up glassed because of their faith...but the mechanicus would probably claim this world. although tech-wise we are behind them, we have decent computing power and schematics to build machines that might help extrapolate into some lost tech.

What would the Inquisition think about the internet? Specially when they read about our theories on the Emperor or 40k in general.

Or, what if it is the in-universe terra of about 2k appears? I mean, including Emperor and all.

A Psyker Inquisitor? HERESY!

>Or, what if it is the in-universe terra of about 2k appears? I mean, including Emperor and all.

It'd be a weaker emperor, before he went and got mighty power from the warp (at least according to BL).

Or, maybe, just maybe, we'd get DOUBLE EMPEROR POWAH, one for the astronomicon, one for kicking ass.

Nice

You forgot the important point.
First they make them write that somehow, all orcs in the galaxy die, and remove their army from the next version.

It's not like he would't have plenty of examples of warp use, and surely he would feel the prescence of his future self anyway (and vice versa).
If he isn't blammed first, of course.

There are a disproportionately large number of psychic inquisitors.

>what do you do?

Pray to Tzeentch for cool magic powers.

>what do you think will happen?

Earth gets annexed by the Tau.
Eventually we're destroyed by something.

kill myself to escape the grimdarkness

>GW would be infiltrated/coerced and make a lot of stupid decisions that put it out of business

Has... has it already started?

They'd probably realise that we have many geological similarities to Holy Terra.

I don't know if/how much the shapes of the continents and such were changed during the dark age of technology or after, but Earth would probably still be close enough to set off alarm bells.

Not to mention, as other anons have pointed out; I'm sure the existence of 40k would raise some eyebrows at the highest levels.

...

He would handle the business...
