What is the best possible grappler without using synthesis summoner?
Ethan Garcia
>Have you ever run any "Western" Themed games before? I was invited to a steampunk western game once. I did what any sane man would. I told the DM to fuck off.
Cameron Mitchell
I know a lot of Fire Emblem players browse /pfg/.
How would I go about making Micaiah? I'm thinking it would be either Oracle or Celestial Sorceress, but I'm unsure about where to go from there in terms of specialization/optimization
Samuel Howard
Brawler (strangler) does the job pretty well.
Logan Price
i tried one in good old 3.5
Ended the first session.
Dylan Cox
>"Western" Themed game Did a round-robin type game where each of dmed for one story ark in a frontier town. Had the rail coming through, attempted theft of the first steam-carriage, hunting down necromancers that had been hung for their crimes but didn't stay dead, and pushing out a robber baron trying to muscle in on the nearby sulfur mines. Played an ex-army brood summoner that had all the littlest eidolons, all with rifles, in formation and shooting in waves.
Cameron Parker
Could Asmodeus send someone back in time?
Cooper Cook
Alright guys, two questions.
Do Gold Dragons have shape shifting naturally? And how old do elves live? In Golarion.
Mason Williams
Dunno how good it ends up actually being, but I wanna try a Masked Grappler eventually.
They get to ignore Freedom of Movement, which is nice.
Brayden Morris
If this one survives to become true general I'm going to lewdpost all day tomorrow.
Easton Hughes
That seems like a good way to get banned, user.
Isaac Butler
That seems like a good way to get my dick hard, user.
Gavin Carter
So speaking of mistakes.
What's the worst you or your party have ever fucked up?
And I mean REALLY fucked up.
Bonus points if it didn't actually just end up with you all dead.
Brandon Martin
Hey /pfg/, I've got 2 different character concepts I want to try, which do you think I should do first. They're both kind of necromancers.
>half-orc witch with plague patron >think a follower of Nurgle, but more of a focus on how everything eventually succomds to entropy eventually, but wants to eventually reach lichdom
>human twilight arcanist that wants to party forever and give the middle finger to death forever >Herbert West and Johannes Cabal if they knew how to have fun
Oliver Butler
Yes
350+4d100 years
Juan Ortiz
I thought the floating lilipads we were standing on had stems, I was wrong Luckily I activated Judgement, so the fall didn't kill me
Evan James
The second one is more appealing, but only if you're able to play the character coherently even when others are being very serious.
Carter Adams
We're only a few sessions in and this is my fist time playing any TTRPG, but I think we may have fucked up.
>roll a human druid, playing him like he's an ecologist >rest of the party consists of: >human wizard with no real sense of right or wrong >prancing elf swashbuckler noble >rapey female elf ranger >they're on a mission to retrieve a magical staff and investigate some undead >they happen upon the village nearby where I do my druid shenanigans >when I woke up that morning, I found a villager stabbed to shit in my woods >also, the mayor of said village was stabbed to shit in his house >we investigate the murders, fail to find any solid clues in regards to who did it >but apparently the mayor was skimming off the top >and paying some villagers to act as secret police, including the dead guy I found >mayor's wife is also weird, she has a tattoo and we find a magical candle in their house >we exhaust all other options >fuck it, wizard lights the candle >wife bursts into some sort of flame monster >we end up killing her and escaping the burning house >flaming face rises and says we'll pay for ruining it's plans >I join the rest of the group on their quest >that night: ranger, wizard, and I are sleeping >in a dream, we're confronted by another creature made of flame >says we fucked up, how are we going to pay it back? >I counter that we didn't know about any of it's plans, and we were attacked first >we get down to brass tacks and it says it needs us to get shit >in return it will grant us boons >also tells us who the killer was >eventually we agree >it wants the staff
cont
Nathan Collins
Depends on what you want to do with your grappling. Drop Dead's Luchador lets you take a bunch of different options that build off of the grapple, throwing in knee strikes and suplexes and options like that, while the Tetori monk is pretty good at rapid binary grappling.
Eli Morris
Is there anything that's not a full caster that can save a gestalt that's half swashbuckler?
Jordan Rivera
depends on what you want the gestalt to do
Bentley Phillips
Paladin.
Blake Cruz
Mainly I want to be able to disable any reasonably build character from the maximum possible range as quickly as possible with no counter play.
The DM has this really infuriating BBEG guy and I want him gone. DM told me to go nuts.
Juan Howard
I like this thread better. Openly lewd OPs really kill the mood.
If you've got any questions about the game, or have an idea about the game. go ahead and ask me.
I'm gonna be drawing up a thread about the Demesne itself soon. lotta questions about the how its set up.
Elijah Johnson
What I want to do is make a competent character that won't fall too far behind the party.
Any particular archetypes?
Jack Richardson
yes but what do you want said competent character to -do-
Isaiah Nguyen
>arrive at the burrough where the undead are popping out of and the staff should be >work our way through, kill some shambling corpses that get re-invigorated every time this pulse goes through the burrough >it also heals our wounds >make it to the end, there's a skeleton in robes with a spear through it's chest, holding onto a staff >the hand holding the staff is fully fleshed but the rest of him is fucked up >another pulse, more undead >we get to him, he takes notice >we fight him some, trying to get the staff >skeleton guy grabs it with his other hand >now he's fulled healed >we try attack him some more >he comes to his senses, asks us to stop, heals us, asks whats going on >turn out he's some priest who was sent on the same mission as us, things got fucky and he was trying to heal all of his men with the staff >then he got speared and the spell kind of got stuck in a weird loop
cont
Jaxon Campbell
Sacred Servant.
Gavin Gutierrez
Not really a party fuck up, but as I mentioned in the "How did your character die" thread, I once had a half-orc get bitten in half by an epic hippopotamus the party thought was a log. There was also that time in Rise of the Runelords where we turned loose a sealed demon that then eviscerated half the party...
Samuel Perez
>If you've got any questions about the game, or have an idea about the game. go ahead and ask me.
Dragon DM! Dragon DM!
Tell us about the non-draconic inhabitants of the Demesne! Who's the sportiest? Who's the most competent? Who's the thickest, excluding Fredericka?
Gavin Allen
Well, luchador has aerial charge which is really good at long distance charge take-downs, and it has talents to ignore freedom of movement, but it's more about big damage combos than instant lockdowns. Tetori is better at the instant lockdown, but less good at closing the distance, especially if the foe is flying.
Thomas Gutierrez
DUELING GENERALS, BUMPING FOR THE BUMP GOD
Jose Miller
Is there a way to use abundant step to deliver a grapple as a tetori?
Jordan Cooper
It's always nice when the PFG thread is actually about Pathfinder as well.
Asher Nelson
If I don't make it into your game, may I please have a hug?
Also, what sort of critters are there in the Demense other than sapient/sentient people?
Like, a wildlife ecosystem? Are there cows for me to swallow whole? Are there exotic trees that bear fruit like grapevines? Is there fishing?
Jayden Hernandez
>he pulls the spear out like it's nothing, says it's evil >our wizard just grabs it, against the warnings of the priest, but it does nothing to him >I grab the staff and we head out, me last >I hear a voice behind me "Give me the staff." >it's the fire guy >Well, we did agree... >put the staff down and it just disappears >while we head back to town, ask the priest if he's ever heard of fire guy >says it sounds vaguely familiar, but to check the library when we get back >we do >turns out there was a being that matches the description that was created to oppose some other being >it won, and was then banished because the guys who made it were afraid of it >also get confirmation that the spear is crazy evil >like, it belongs to an evil deity and is watching us >we end up before the prince >manage to bullshit enough to an inquisitor that the staff just up and disappeared on us >also say we figured out who murdered those two guys, kind of pulls their attention there >get paid for dealing with the undead and get sent to deal with some shit at a mine >en route, wizard tries to make contact with the spear's deity >turns out it's a being called the Defiler and is very happy that we're helping out fire guy
I think we fucked up.
Aiden Cook
Tetori loses abundant step, unfortunately.
Gabriel Richardson
I don't anticipate the others being too serious. And yeah, I like the second more from a roleplaying perspective, but I like the first from a mechanical perspective.
Luis Moore
damn. It looks like I have to go with something else then.
Asher Lopez
>most competent?
Maximo Dumonte, Resident Barber and Scrimshawer, Former Dragonslayer, Honorary Dragon.
Has slain over 300 dragons in his long career. fifty of whom have been Culdranth's children. However in the twilight of his life, Culdranth in a fit of whimsy put him under her protection and named him an honorary dragon.
He lives in the Demesne carving designs in horns and cutting hair, and warning dragons away from evil lest he come out of retirement and slay them. His sword is hung on his shop wall. His draconic customers find it creepy as fuck.
Pic related
>critters Goats, Cats, and Falcons. >plants There are some fruit and vegitable farms at the bottom of The Demesne. They all get plenty of light due to the Crystal nature of the cavern reflecting light to the lowest depths. >fishing There is a pool at the bottom of The Demesne fed from a waterfall from the very top. there are some fish in there, but they were placed there to manage Mosquitos
Michael Martin
No, because you lose Abundant Step. For a normal monk though, such as a UC Monk, go Dimensional AgilityDimensional Assault, Dimensional Dervish, Charging Stag Style, and Stag Horns.
Hope you don't mind spending all those feats, as well as the prerequisite feats. You should probably go Human
Dylan Murphy
I don't get what you're expecting to do with that NPC thread.
Are applicants allowed/expected to contribute?
Jose Hill
>Are applicants allowed/expected to contribute?
Yes.
It's a lazy way for user to get more character concepts.
Blake Ramirez
Applicants are allowed to contribute. I mostly put it there to keep from repeating myself.
Jordan Morales
hobgoblin gets some racial bonuses to grapple though though FCB and alternate racial traits.
DIdn't know about stag style though. THANKS!
Ian Martinez
>There are some fruit and vegitable farms at the bottom of The Demesne. There better be Breadfruit. Nothing is more comfy than a breadfruit
Landon Rodriguez
Both kinds of Monk keep their Good Fort save progression, so you could potentially take the Teleportation Mastery feat to get Dim-Door
Robert Stewart
Alright well what are some things that make up the diet of Demense denizens?
Goat, fish, some fruits and veggies, and other assorted things?
Brayden Sullivan
Should have been pointed at
Benjamin Allen
That shit was my jam in Lost in Blue
Zachary Diaz
Meat, tropical fruits, meat, grain, candy, meat, and MEAT.
Noah Cook
Interesting.
The dragon NPC that just got posted was making some assumptions about the setting, so I was wondering what you actually thought of it.
Alexander Bell
It was my in Harvest Moon: Save the Homeland
Colton Wright
I was talking with him in the Rizon chat while he was writing it. I told him it was okay to post.
Ryan Nelson
Spheres of Might seems to be rolling right along in their Kickstarter, I'm interested to see how that turns out.
Parker King
MEAT
Carter Sanders
>Dimensional Dervish >Stag Style
these don't work at all together
Ryder Lopez
Grab a bunch of damaging spells, rely heavily on the fact that you run on CHA to replace the fact that your CON is awful, and get a familiar that can cast spells via wands (to simulate Yune).
Tyler Bennett
Is that a fat elf dressed as an orc?
Ethan Parker
Ah, makes sense. I for one find it comfy. Not sure what the hivemind will make of it though.
Camden Gutierrez
No its a shoanti human cannibal with cropped ears.
Awinita the Ox. Scrapped character of mine that somehow got into this guy's hands... well done!
Matthew Sanchez
S, I've been thinking of making a Betrothed Avowed/Warlord in order to make an expy of Utena from Revolutionary Girl Utena. Currently I've been wondering, what type of Pact would Anthy be? I've been thinking Court Fey, but I'm not sure. Your thoughts?
You're right, Dervish can be dropped, but Assault should stay as it makes it into a Charge Attack, and Stag Horns allows you to grapple at the end of a charge attack
Caleb Foster
I didn't kill a PC because the player left the session after 2 hours, right as I was about to roll a CDG against his dying ass.
I auto-piloted him and he survived and the others are now mad that I didn't kill him.
John Young
It's got an interesting team on it, and it could be nice to recommend a book that gives more martial options without having to include the caveats or address all the issues that PoW has.
Henry Cruz
Of the current options I would go with court fey as well.
Speaking of, Forrest, where are the other pacts for betrothed? We need celestial, shadow, elemental, and fiendish partners to!
Dominic Fisher
Kitsune style is better. Charge -> Dirty Trick(Pin) Full Attack
Nicholas Harris
>in a foreign land >locals are mostly accommodating but overall the place has bad feelings towards our homeland >party wizard is incredibly racist and meets a drunk guy of an ethnicity he doesn't particularly hate who is mad at the locals >this convinces the wizard to single-handedly attempt to Manifest Destiny >the DM doesn't want to shoot him down because the wizard player hasn't exactly been participating up until this point >by some miracle we end convincing them we're diplomatic envoys >the wizard insists to speak to the assembled dignitaries despite dumping con and having invested no skill ranks in anything resembling social skills >ten minutes later he tells them he's going to take most of their land and enforce a tribute system to allow them to keep some of it >as we run for our lives it becomes evident thousands of people in the borderlands are going to be slaughtered because we let this go too far and were too stupid to stop it >the rogue and druid break into the weird socialist building where they kept all the capital's food supplies >burn and mold everything to cause a food shortage with the hope it will buy time to mount a defense/evacuate
Things did not go well for the poor NPCs in that campaign.
Michael Morris
Suppose i actually aught to compile what the Demesne looks like.
Culdranth's Demesne
Culdranth made her lair in this cavern some thousand years ago wanting "A nice home with a view." The cavern walls are lined with crystals like the inside of a geode. A waterfall flows into the cavern, and during the daylight hours the entire cavern glitters.
While Culdranth has made her home opposite of the waterfall, her Servants and children have carved a city into the side next to it. The homes and rise from the lip of the cavern to the lowest depths where the waterfall pools. Curldranth's Demesne is traversed by a series of Cable cars, lifts and canals powered by the single waterfall. Food is grown at the bottom of the cavern at the shores of the pool. Despite being deep within the earth; the reflective nature of the cavern's walls and the waterfall ample sunlight reaches plant life at the bottom. usable minerals are mined from tunnels past the settlements expanding upon what buildings are already carved there. Herd animals like Oxen, goats, and sheep are kept for resources and food.
The Demesne itself is located simultanously in Southern Thuvia, and Eastern Taldor. It always appears like an oasis with tropical plants and a large spring water lake at the surface.
Nolan Flores
Doesn't pinning with Dirty Trick require Dirty Trick Master? Seems like that would be a ton of feats.
Ryder Wood
What will happen to the thread when all of these games die down?
Carson Cooper
Maybe people will start talkig about Pathfinder again.
Alexander Thompson
You can't apply the same effect twice to intensify it. You get two different effects.
Brandon Clark
Another game will pop up in it's place most likely.
If not, things will be the same as always. Complaining, whining, shitposting, and playing bingo.
Joshua Fisher
Is it open to the sky? Where does she keep her hoard? What's the most popular recreational drug?
Gabriel Ramirez
I assume Avowed 2 is in its Very early test stages.
I will say I want a shadow waifu to.
Grayson Flores
Sure, but it's badass. The absolute coolest *unsheathes katana, teleports behind you* would be Dimensional Savant + Bounty Hunter or Skulking Slayer
Evan Green
Does your party have an NPC that's been guiding them into key locations for some unknown purpose?
Adrian Mitchell
So what exactly is different between a Betrothed and a regular Avowed?
Isaac Adams
Betrothed get a companion animal representative of their pact to help with casting. However, their Aether Burst is weakened.
Blake White
No I mostly let my PCs decide their own actions with little proding from myself. This means they get into trouble a lot more, but at least they understand why they are in trouble.
Nolan Sullivan
He just pops up and says something like, "there's a rumor of [item they would find useful] in [place]".
They think he's using them to unseal the BBEG but really he's just a bored wizard.
Carter Cruz
In a nutshell, your aether pulse does half damage, most of your clauses are at half caster level for saves etc, and you gain your betrothed. The betrothed is like a very very very light eidolon, who has all your clauses and aether pulse. If you or they use an aether shape/modulation, then the other can only use the same one that turn. It edits the pact bonuses a little bit to be more in theme with the duo, and everything else works pretty much the same.
Chase Torres
>animal
It's either a cutie male/female representation of the patron, or literally the patron.
Hunter Williams
Hey can I get some suggestions or assistance for a gestalt? Do you guys know any full BAB classes that meshes well with a summoner that isn't the paladin? Never really mess around with summoner so i'm hoping for guiding hand in the right direction.
Nicholas Clark
You the femGilgamesh from Dragon?
Nolan Mitchell
Nothing wrong with prodding or giving them plot hooks when they are stuck.
Grayson Young
Scaled Fist Monk?
Hunter Lee
Hey /pfg/ need help with a build I want to play a majora/skullkid style character Only 3rd party stuff allowed is ponyfinder (dm is a brony) What can i do to unleash the doom imp?
Luis Murphy
Lua Culdranth's personal home is opposite facing the main settlement. The only way to reach her home is by cable car, or flight. Behind a wall of glittering opaque glass, The Queen can see the entirety of the settlement from behind it, but no one can see in.
Immediately upon entering one notices that the whole of the floor has been apolstered and cushioned almost like a pillow or mattress. Larger pillow like seats are scattered around the entry way for guests to rest upon. Some of these pillows are large enough for a huge sized creature to fit upon.
After entering, immediately visible is vertible mountains of clutter. Magical items, equipment and baubles litter the place as if tossed and shoved aside casually, the sign of a disorganized slob.
There are three main landmarks of the ever shifting junk pile of Culdranth's home. The Hookah of Space and Time, Her Bed Chambers, and The Book Pile.
Parker Price
So is this in another version of the Avowed book?
Benjamin Bennett
Bloodrager possibly. You'd have to balance your spellcasting in such a way that you're using your Summoner spells before you rage since blood sanctuary only covers bloodrager spells.
Cameron Bell
The games have really started to pop up when people realised /pfg/ loves masturbating to them, and then the game dies, and then /pfg/ proceeds to pity masturbate.
Carson Green
Uh, no. I believe you have me confused with someone else. Although color me curious.
I did not look at the Scaled Fist monk.
Blake Walker
It's in the OP sys.Veeky Forums.org/derefer?url=https%3A%2F%2Fdocs.google.com%2Fdocument%2Fd%2F1rV7kaF9JL2gw9xQalkEnlEDL9WXtbsaCqNABm_pLIgc%2Fedit%3Fusp%3Dsharing
Noah Murphy
how can i make my father love me?
Andrew Phillips
I wanna make a Pegasus rider from fire emblem.
Would this be possible?
Connor Cooper
Forrest is still cleaning up Avowed 1, and has put the beta for Avowed 2 out, which has the Betrothed but not the dungeon master, not till Avowed 3
Brandon Gray
It's an Unchained Monk that uses Charisma for everything instead of Wisdom.
Eli Thompson
Ah, I see. I linked my DM Avowed 1 asking him to review it and decide if I can run one, didn't realize there was a second book.
