Why do people here sperg about ADB? I read Betrayer and Talon of Horus and they both were pretty good.

Do we know the estimated point costs of Celestine and Greyfax?
Gavin Perez
200 and 150
Xavier Morris
Depends on your bitz box. I made this years ago out of a 1/35 M3 Lee. Can't remember how much it cost but it was definitely less than the BW kit.
Ian Williams
I originally asked about blue because it was not shipping, and confused as balls it didn't had tracking number. It just didn't occurred to me, I simply assume the more expensive one was faster.
Then I asked about red why it was not shipping.
The idiots sold me out of stock shit, along with made to order out of stock (How?) IA bought in hardback. Changing to soft, so... Honestly no idea what the hell happened back at GW
Finally ended cancelling the order.
4 other orders still missing, the fuckers are evading the questions.
We buy in bulk for many people just to avoid issues and this shit happens.
Asher Reyes
Orks seem like they're simply the most fun from the modeling aspect of the hobby.
Dylan Butler
But that's just one book. Yeah the whole Webway/Drach'nyen thing was pretty retarded but people act like everything he's ever produced has been shit.
Ayden Sanchez
He says, having ruined his model with it. I hope you have a file handy.
Who shat in your cheerios?

Hey guys,
Is there a good collection of the 40k fluff novels anywhere online?

What are the rules regarding bases for hovering/flying units? Does the unit need to be a specific height off the base, or can you modify it to make it higher or lower?
I'm guessing you can't modify it at all, or else you could have some really questionable LOS situations.
Sebastian Bennett
Because they're spergs that freak out if their imaginary faction isn't """winning""" the setting in a vague fictional future well past the actual timeline in which the plot of the game takes place.
There's literally one crybaby faggot that comes in these threads and tries to tell everyone else there's no reason to play 40k ever because chaos wins in the end so nothing they do matters. As if a normal person would give a shit about that instead of putting their painted army dudes on a table to roll some dice and blast each other while sharing a pack of beers.
Leo Bennett
>eating Cheerios
Get on our level, cereal pleb.
Nathan James
Be careful though, there's pitfalls.
"Glue random junk of models and ruin both" conversions And the "10000 points built, nothing painted and the ideas keep coming like africanized bees"
Adrian Davis
That's my strategy: I blob it on (carefully soaking up the greenstuff around the rivets with a paper towl), wait a day for it to dry, then sand it down. The greenstuff is far softer than the GW plastic so it sands off quickly and by using a nice fine sandpaper I can ensure I don't damage the good plastic.
I wrap it around an old hotel keycard for precision sanding.
Connor Murphy
Do you have any examples of shit ork conversions?
Jose Cruz
Higher mean more visibility but also more visible, vise versa.

To me, converting models into "your guys" is THE best aspect of the hobby, and Orks are the best at this because you can use pretty much everything from your bitz box. Space Marines probably take second place due to how modular their models are, whils Tau are also highly customisable when it comes to battlesuits.
>tfw these are all armies I play.
Anthony Jenkins
No
Chase Butler
>Gotta capitalize on x-wing being popular it's trash
Blake Bailey
I'm sorta interested, but the pricetag was a buzzkill.
Nolan Wilson
I only save good shit, that was an example of not awful just just commonly bad one confusing single parts of the ork design with the entire aesthetic.
Ryan Moore
Well we haven't seen the price or the rules, and there aren't many Dark Eldar people here anyway.
Levi Rodriguez
That looks very nice man! I'm just starting out so I don't have much in the way of bits yet but I have ordered some trukk boyz and a battlewagon set. I was wondering if it is possible to bare bones out one battlewagon with its own set and then make another with a cheaper set. Historical sets look like a good idea.
Asher Barnes
That's how I feel about IG Veterans. I feel like you can do so many things with them. Things I've done to make them my guys are make Catachans Prisoners with orange outfits as count as Conscripts, Veterans that use Space Marine Scout bodies with shotguns and Scion Beret heads and I combined Scion bits with Cadian Command Squad bits to make a count as Straken and count as Creed.
Orkz also seem really fun for the highly customizeable aspect of them.
Jeremiah Edwards
I know the implications, I just want to know if it's legal.
I'm imagining a Hammerhead hovering 71" above the battlefield. It just floats over and railguns its target from orbit.
Actually, if I can place my hovering units at an arbitrary height, does that imply they're capable of moving vertically? Are there rules for deploying a squad of Fire Warriors from a Devilfish that's several feet above the board?
Aiden Bailey
It bothers me so much that there is a bit of sprue left on the tip of the lasgun.
Camden Cook
>Are there rules for deploying a squad of Fire Warriors from a Devilfish that's several feet above the board?
Yes, they die from taking the fall damage.
Logan Cruz
It looks pretty hype to me. If a resident DE player at my store buys it I'll play it with him.
Christopher Myers
>Historical sets look like a good idea.
Be aware that most historical kits won't work for 40K, at least not without massive amounts of plastic-card. The Lee works in part because it's got a very 40K design aesthetic to it, with the massively tall profile and multiple guns.
Secondly, you need to replace every weapon. 1/35 or 1/32 is the right scale for historical vehicles in 40K, but weapons in 40K are massively oversized, closer to 1/16. That Lee came with a 75mm cannon, a fair sized weapon for the period. It looks like a pea-shooter in 40K.
Good luck with your conversions!
Jordan Cook
This is the typical rookie Ork conversion mistake.
Take shit, glue plastic spikes and big guns on, call it "Orky"
Gavin Allen
it might save you a few bucks compared to buying the models seperate, and if you play DE you were gonna buy reavers anyway. i guess count the skateboard punks as reavers as well
isn't that the same rule for chaos players?
Ryder Myers
What the fuck were they thinking with this How did they think this would look even remotely acceptable
Jack Flores
>aren't that many Dark Eldar people here We're few and far between, but we're here, user.
Dominic Jackson
What's the price? Reavers are one of the few units that got a buff with the new edition. All the tokens can be used as jink markers or objective markers
Nathaniel Garcia
>isn't that the same rule for chaos players? No but it applies to the piece of shit "vehicles" they come up with in the fluff >take a rhino, put a spike rack on it and loads of missiles and glue bolters together PRAISE THE DARK GODS
Landon Cooper
I don't like Hellions. So unless the game rules are incredible I'll pass. I'd much rather get cheap Reavers out of Start Collecting boxes.
Xavier Butler
I'll probably buy two or three
Thomas Wood
They should have just squatted DE instead of wasting all that money making their 5E plastics.
Then they could use all that machinery, raw plastic, and capital to make moare marines :^)
Wyatt Martinez
It happens enough that I've actually a fucking pasta with critique that applies with 90% accuracy to every failed Ork conversion.
Just not getting that the Orks aesthetic is more than "spikes, rivets and guns".
>isn't that the same rule for chaos players? You mean "slap greenstuff on and say it's nugley?" Yeah.
Josiah Sanders
You wouldn't be able to deploy them.
Chase Perez
Helsreach and Blood and Fire were good as well
Aiden Bennett
Nah. I would have preferred something new and fluffy. Like a better version of Lost Patrol with Catachans and Nids.
Jaxson Peterson
Rumors say £50/$80.
Eli Phillips
>I know the implications, I just want to know if it's legal. Officially, models must use the bases that they come with. People just don't complain about custom bases of normal size because they don't mind. Try to put your Skimmer on a six foot tall base and they'll probably say something.
Jack Ramirez
No one will let you bring a vehicle on a base that high.
Andrew Ward
Where do you get your dice, anons? I've heard lots of good things about Chessex, especially for things like getting fancy custom dice which sounds interesting to me, having a couple Tzeentch, Necron, or Thousand Sons dice would be nice but have also heard a lot of bad things about them too. What do you guys recommend?
Landon Ramirez
Can I see the pasta?
Jace Robinson
Haha! You'll never shoot down my Arvus Lighter now!
Samuel Martinez
I like Army Painter.
Juan Campbell
Obvious bait is obvious That's not bad. If someone has picked up a starter box or two it won't be a bad investment.
Austin Howard
I just use whatever cheap dice I have lying around. Mostly whatever dice I get out of various board games.
Thomas Miller
Seems extremely cheap. They're effectively giving away all the Hellions at that point relative to retail. Then again, maybe that's the point.
Grayson Turner
GW
Chessex dice are fine, because all the bad things apply to all other dice companies too except for precision dice like casinos and Gamescience which aren't really worth buying, so don't worry about it.
If you really are paranoid just buy extra batches and test each one until you can eliminate all the ones that are overly skewed, or throw in a mix of skews for each number.
Christopher Price
I buy from deal extreme or aliexpress because dice are dice and you can't beat the price
for objective/wound/hullpoint markers I buy a pack of dice from the dollar store because they'll be bigger and chunkier
Angel Carter
>Gotta say I ain't feeling the orkyness.
>The Ork aesthetic is more than "spikes, rivets and guns". >It needs inherent "chunkyness", additions that look like it's been cobbled together from/repaired with scrap, not just having said scrap glued on as an afterthought
Chessex custom dice prices are as follows for 16mm dice with 1 custom image on one face (IE: symbol on 6)
10-25 dice: $1.00 per side 26-99 dice: $0.75 per side 100-199 dice: $0.60 per side 200-499 dice: $0.50 per side 500-999 dice: $0.42 per side
My friendgroup have been considering making a logo and ordering a bunch.
Sebastian Evans
precision for game d6s means diddly squat
you only go gamescience if you're rolling d20s because chessex d20s are fucking round eggs
but it's impossible to fuckup a square
Mason Diaz
hnnnnngg
Levi Gomez
Thought it was a Necromunda like game.
Also Cardboard scenery and no new models.
Maybe if it is $50 I would consider it.
Leo Carter
>They're effectively giving away all the Hellions at that point relative to retail.
Sounds perfectly in line with their boxed games. Calth gave you a free Contemptor, Prospero has the Custodes/Sisters for free, all the start collecting boxes have something for free.
Hudson Bennett
You'd be surprised how bad a rock tumbler can fuck up a square. That is if you weren't too busy shitposting everywhere.
Ian Adams
>start collecting boxes They're pretty shit though
Andrew Sanders
As someone who wanted to buy it just to play, then later backpedaled because it looked a lot like X-Wing and not Necromunda, then pingponged back because the box came with 6(!) Reavers, I'd rather just source more Reaver boxes from my FLGS than buy this, really. I guess I could try to flip the Hellions for a small profit, but the market'll be flooded with them before long because of people who have the exact same idea as me, right?
Anthony Wright
So reportedly Cawl can replace any Dominius HQ right?
>Cohort Cybernetica >Composition: 1.Tech-Priest Dominus, 2. Kastelan Robot Maniples >Restrictions: Single unit. Dominus cannot leave this unit.
Am I wrong in thinking Admech players can run him in a 1850 points monstrous creature deathstar?
William Russell
Ok user, cool opinion, now how does that change that they give you something free of charge?.
Matthew Walker
He is not MC, oddly enough. I just hope those are bullshit rules. Otherwise Celestine is a Necron now.
Liam Edwards
Nigger what? They're some of the best deals GW has ever made. They smashed criticism right out of the park when they dropped this time last year. So what if some of them aren't >optimal? They're usually excellent starting points for armies and a great way to grow one, too.
Luke Anderson
Yeah. Basically if you have any interest in the Hellions it's a great deal. But if you just want the Reavers and are trying to flip the hellions it's probably not that great. The DE Start Collecting is a similarly good deal and comes with way more solid stuff.
James Sanders
I'm actually going to ask my group if they care if I kit bash them into a seercouncil. I prefer the DE aesthetic to CWE but, I've always wanted to try that formation. For fun.
Adam Morris
Wait really? He's the size of a carnifex I just assumed. Well the Kastelans are still MC so I guess it still works.
Jacob Mitchell
Sounds like a pretty decent deal. Is the ordering process hard to deal with, or is it relatively simple? I may have to order some custom 40k dice of my own just to fit my armies.
Dylan Jackson
No don't get me wrong, getting free shit is cool, but it would be good if there was like tiers of collecting boxes. Like, £35 £50 £75 that cover troops, elites/heavies/supports/ and vehicles respectively.
Bentley Butler
Calth is free Contemptor, free characters, and free terminators.
Carson Cook
I've got multiple sets of gamescience dice
you shouldn't worry about your PRECISE D6 and instead worry that your opponent isn't bringing a wraithknight and three riptides
Adrian Walker
yeah, calth is a really nice box, I might buy another
Hudson Hughes
How does chainsword fighting work? Do you press the teeth against the opponent or just smack him with it?
Caleb Jenkins
I've never ordered. But I've heard it's pretty informal. You just shoot them an email with an attached file, possibly asking for a demo die. They print one out and send it to you, then you tell them "this is what I want", pay, wait 4-8 weeks I believe, and bam, new dice.
Wyatt Torres
Bit of both.
Space Marine did a pretty great job illustrating it.
Asher Cooper
GW are possibly getting their shit together, the as (you), yes (you) to tell them what they should make or bring back next.
What do you choose?
Claiming Necromunda.
Hudson Hall
Videogames usually depict swinging and then pressing.
Nolan Turner
Yes.
It's literally a chainsaw in sword form with extremely hard teeth.
Space Marine does a good job, or a good amount of the books that have chainsword fights.
Daniel White
They're literally just chainsaws You use them exactly how you'd expect a chainsaw to work
