First for my boyfriend

What role would shoretroopers fill? I was thinking amphibious operations, but maybe they also handle jungle/tropical ops?

Second for best girl

Set's fully converted, but something about Padawans crashes Cockatrice. If that one guy is still reading... I dunno, don't hold your breath?

I think their full name is "Coastal Defender Trooper" or something, so I think they're amphibious/semi-amphibious garrisoning - like when you have a facility at or near a shoreline. The wook says they're tropical specialized though, so they probably also do rainforests, glades, etc. If it's hot and wet, the Shoretroopers are there.

>If it's hot and wet, the Shoretroopers are there.

Oh myyyy.

Guy who posted in the other thread, I think 4 sounds right for a standard baseline to plot a single hyperspace jump.

183 shore unit
>If it's hot and wet, we are there

Make way for best girl

Look at dat ass

So if I'm making a rebel epic list and not including either of the huge ships what do you think would be the best carrier for Leia?

Hey, that's an excellent idea man.

Thoughts on this list?

Ryad, x7, predator, tie mk. 2

Rexler Brath, x7, veteran instincts, tie mk 2

Duchess, adaptive ailerons, lightened frame, juke.

100pts even.. the defenders hang out together up the side of the board, duchess squirrels her way into flank shots as available.

Shoretroopers were a mistake, t.b.h. Why not just make them Scout Troopers in camo? Why invent a whole new class of Stormtrooper just for fighting on the beach?

>Defenders+X
Yawn. It will fly average-to-well, but man, what a bore.

Because they look dope as fuck.

And scout troopers aren't for frontline combat: they're lightly armed and armoured compared to regular troopers, it's literally in the name.

Because it's a merchandising opportunity?

Because the people working on the film wanted to be creative and not just repeat the past?

Such a sexy paint job

Put PtL on Ryad instead of Predator and watch her perform miracles.

The only Striker worth flying at all is Sabacc.

His PS is low enough for Vess and Ryad level so you can safely shoot/strip evades to shoot aces and the Alpha strike is so big they will have to ignore your defenders if they don't want potentially 7+ dice on a single shot in their face.

Also this. What are those two bigger ships? The one on the left is dope, the one on the right looks like it should be a ground vehicle.

What would you recommend for tying up 70ish points that doesn't die in 3 rounds of shooting?

The one on the left is a Raider corvette and the big one on the right is a Decimator

The one on the left is the Imperial Raider designed by FFG for X-Wing. The one on the right is the VT-49 Decimator from Galaxies.

Here's the list
geordanr.github.io/xwing/?f=Galactic Empire&d=v4!s!70:152,-1,-1:33:17:;195:18,-1,-1:33:17:;239:219:48:31:&sn=Unnamed Squadron

U-wing maybe? Can get it to 3 dice with the title and a stealth device to make sure it lives long enough to get use out of her, plus if you use her the turn you want to flip you get a nice white flip. Ghost also seems like an alright option for the same reasons though with hp instead of agi.

Thinking of flying Rey and Miranda at the next LGS tourney. What's a good build for the two?

Alternatively I was thinking of a U-Wing instead of Miranda if I can get one in time, or Jan in the HWK.

Stealth device are never worth it on ships without three agility.

I prefer sabacc to duchess. Frees up points too, so try putting expertise on Brath. Lets him actually use his ability quite often. And use the focus for defense if he really needs it.

>The US Marines were a mistake, t.b.h. Why not just make them Army grunts in camo? Why invent a whole new class of soldier just for fighting in the general vicinity of water?

Maybe Sensor Jammer instead?

>What role would shoretroopers fill?
None. They are for merchandising and nothing more.

To be fair...

t. Pessimist

Thoughts on the TIE Punisher? What's the best way to field her?

HWK's cheapest but fucking fragile

Made these based on discussion in the last thread. Too OP?

I figure they're the kind of enemies you throw like, two or three of at an experienced party if you want them to shit themselves. So the stats are meant to be quite high.

Got a lore question for you guys. This is for both Legends and Canon so /swco/ doesn't flip the fuck out Is the Western Reaches in the Outer rim or is it it's own separate entity? Is Bespin part of it as well?

Marines are technically under the purview of the Navy.

>Force Awakens has a bunch of old shit! I want new ships, troopers and tanks in my Star Wars!
>This in Rogue One are redundant! Why just use the stuff they already have!

Fun as hell. The generic pilots kind aren't though, you really should use Redline or Deathrain otherwise they are way too expensive to field even in a casual game. It's a big lumbering brick that hurts every turn it's alive, but it doesn't have a place in serious competition because you can get a high end ace or Defender for the same or fewer points. If your local casual game night 'meta', for lack of a better term, features lots of large-base ships it'll have a field day - If you can keep it alive.

Pretty sweet model imo, and it comes with two copies of both Extra Munitions and Twin Ion Mk.II.

er correction, it has one copy of Extra Munitions, the other comes from the K-Wing.

Honestly hate the design but Redline is really fun to play.

Don't even know what game you're talking about, but it looks like a donker.

Pic related is best TIEfu

They're just tropical specialists. Probably recruited from tropical worlds and zones because they're used to it, like how snow troopers were supposed to have been recruited from colder climate worlds

Veeky Forums is a very special place.

In other words, we've been cunts about how "things were better in my time" for about as long as we've had recorded history, right?

Only technically. DoN is a civillian structure. Marines are tied with the Navy for highest ranking military officer.

>the one in the future has tech advancements and evoluctions of old tech
>the one in the middle has sudden new things never mentioned before

Valid point, but I'm pretty sure if they just used old ships and troops people would have bitched hard about it.

And we've been complaining about both sides of petty issues ever since we've been able to complain.

Yup. Star Wars General is just continuing a fine tradition of pointless bullshit.

We didn't do it back in my day!

My understanding it is the buffer zone between the mid and outer rim, and the unknown territories. I think bespin and hoth classify as being there

sup Veeky Forums, I'm a new player looking for advice.

I was recently tried X-wing, found it pretty fun, and a friend gave me a YV-666 ship and a bunch of cards for free since I said i wanted to try out scum.

I'm looking to make a list. I have been given some advice towards making this.

This is what I flew today, and it did pretty well, but I have 1 point left to spend and I'm not sure where-

I really like the Fang Fighters, and I'm not sure what is the best way to spend 1 point.

- Maneuvering fins on Bossk. Since i am PS 9, I might be able to put it to use.

- Intertial Dampener on Bossk, Stopping once, or doing a zero while stressed might be helpful

- Burnout Slam. I could use this to zoom away once.

What do you guys think? Fins seem the weakest, but they are also the only one that isn't 1-use.

They've got heavier armor than Scout Troopers, lighter than Storm Troopers, they seem designed for easier swimming in. (Relatively)

And coolant vents in the heavy forehead piece.

They seem similar to scout swamptroopers from SWG.

That clone in the bay seems so bored and completely unfazed by the chance of falling.

Western reaches is generally everything ruinning alongside the Unknown regions (A navigational anomaly running pretty much from the deep core to the outer rim keeping a third of the galaxy very hard to reach.

There's not really anything wrong with saving that 1 point, if you're up against someone who's got a full 100 point list you get to pick who has initiative and that could be useful if he's also got pilot skill 5 guys so you can choose to move yours after him and arc dodge him.

>Why invent a whole new class of Stormtrooper just for fighting on the beach?

Because that's how the Empire rolls

>swoletrooper
DYEL?

Ah, it seems the Unknown Regions p[roper start further west than the western reaches with a little gap of Wild Space in between.

And there's TWO kinds of Swamp Trooper.

THREE kinds of Swamp Trooper if you count the Imperial Army Swamp Troopers on top of the heavy and light Stormtrooper ones.

And like 4 kinds of Spacetroopers in Legends

Think it's worth it to bump some generics up to PS4 in epic if you've got a few points to spare and don't have any cheap ships left to squeeze in?

Well yeah but only really three main ones "Stormtrooper with maneuvering and life support pack"

"Boxy as fuck Spacetrooper power armor"
and then the sleek version that came out later.

I wish I was enough of a drawfag to make a standardized chart of Imperial combat uniforms.

You'd run out of space.

Love a lot of stuff in Legends but sometimes I forget what a clusterfuck it was.

> enough of a drawfag

You mean, enough of a masochist.

This canon is for suckers.

I played today against a list called 'Hot Cops', it was Darth Vader and someone named Rear something, they were both PS9, I was explained how initiative bids work. I was told that most initiative bids are 2 points or larger.

Also, I was told that PS 5 isn't common, but PS 4 is. All 3 of those options seem like they would work, but IDK which covers the weak points in my list. I know Bossk eats aces, and the Fangs are for dealing with Swarns. What is the list weak to?

Anyone?

My epic list has every ship in it at PS 4 5 and 6, but I haven't played epic, just listbuilding.

Off topic, but is

- Gozanti
- 4x Omega TIE/FO's with Crack and Weapons Guidance (on Gozanti)
-2 Juke Glaives
- Colonel Vessery with Swarm Leader
- 2 Deadeye Bombers with Protons and bombs (EM)

A good squad?

I'm going to go up against another 300 point squad soon, and I know he's bringing a Raider and his butt-buddy, Captain Jonus.

Can someone tell me how I'm supposed to stat and play HK-47? Is he a heavy gunner like Canderous or is he a stealth guy?

In KOTOR 1, his feat progression is so shit. I do make sure to level up his DEX when I get to upgrade an attribute, since he is supposed to be a ranged character.

What gunfire path do I choose? I gave him the Snipe Shot path, but even with Mission in stealth mode, it's such a shitty attack. Do I have to avoid that altogether and go with Rapid Shot?

I always benched him in KOTOR 2 as well, but I haven't played that game since I was 18, so I don't remember what I did when I leveled him.

Is it really that hard to make a build for rey? New title, Kanan, Finn, Engine, EPT of choice.

Give Miranda as much stupid shit as possible. Start with TLT and Adv. Slam, and go from there.

>Engine
I don't have that. How about Burnout Slam or Dampeners instead?

he's a great choice for leaving behind in the Ebon Hawk

Burnout's not a horrible choice if you don't have engine.

How about

Rey- Trick Shot, Finn, Kanan, Dampener, Title

Miranda- TLT, Adv slam, EM, Intel Agent, Homing missiles.

Well, every asshole who appears in rebels has a concept art/model turn around somewhere.

If you could find all those art assets you'd have a decent start.

failed to link.

You can also cut the missiles and intel agent and replace them with Sabine and a net.

He's literally only good for translating the Tusken Raiders. I benched him after that mission

So we've had fun playing Uglies by

Pilot skill is always 5.
Deal random ship: (X-wing, Y-wing, TIE fighter, TIE advance, TIE interceptor, Headhunter)
Deal one random 2 or 3 point upgrade (torpedo, missile, cannon, turret, system, or illicit)
Deal one random dial ((X-wing, Y-wing, B-wing, TIE fighter, TIE advance, TIE interceptor, Headhunter)

You get some very weird ships out of it.

I need to try this sometime.

From what I recall of kotor1 it had the problem that he had some pretty decent stat boosts, but they were gated behind your personal Repair skill, so unless you were the team skillmonkey, he was just sort of mediocre.

It's very fun, but it can be very unbalanced, so be prepared to have some short battles.

Like when some lucky bastard gets the X-Wing's card, a FCS, and the Interceptor's dial?

>shoretroopers are marines

Exactly.

Other times, interceptor card, Y-wing dial, and nothing else of value. Good luck.

I think you've basically described every "X-Wing Fix" I've ever heard at once, including some of my own.

Then reduce the points cost by 4 and you're ready for the X-wing design team!

what's that pic??

>eSheev costs 28 points
>Nothing costs 2 points
Either FFG is already planning to up the point limit on Destiny, or they have a really weird design philosophy.

Looks pretty good, 3-4 of these suckers sneaking into your hanger bay and clamping detonators all over you know and love should let PC's know they've been habitually pissing off someone with resources beyond their wildest dreams.
Course like every GM since time began, you've got to be careful with NPC's like this, if they do manage to kill a few of them... they get the gear and use it! I have some deep seated regrets using Storm Commandos in the past, but at least they never found the TIE Hunters hidden nearby.

In other musings, been watching Gun Jesus and the Bergman pistols.
Think the No.5 is very starwarsy, given it was being produced around the same time as the Mauser C96 it has some similar features common to the automatic pistols of that era (magazine in front of trigger)
Though unlikely to ever end up as a blaster due to their rarity.

Im considering a list with two protectorate starfighters, using their top two pilots, fearless and title for each (30 and 28 points each) and then asajj ventress with the 2 point crew who trades stress for evade, black market splicing tools and veteran instincts... possibly with a rigged cargo shoot thrown in so i can poop on things.

Yes, i know i should really learn proper names for things. I will work on that.

The list looks fun, any thoughts on it though?

It's probably because of the way the math works in this game when you go elite.

Either that, or they have something planned. Maybe a title card or something like that which would cost 1 or 2 points.

I've had some fun running Deathrain lately.
No one remembers how Punishers work so you fly in close and drop cluster mines or conner nets all over their fragile aces.

Bombs are pretty hot right now. Imps and Scum don't have access to Sabine for more free damage, but the meta-warping squad is x7 Defenders, which hate to just be assigned damage, and tend to have a fairly predictable flight plan, especially the variants based on PTL.

Bombers are slightly more popular than Punishers in that regard, but if you can make it work make it work.

[spoilers]Rumors of FO Bombers in VIII abound, possible Shielded Black n' white bombers with Tech slots soon[/spoiler]

>Death Troopers described by the Wook as bodyguard details for important people
>Employed by Imperial Intelligence
What's ImpInt doing running "bodyguard" duties? Is this just an excuse so that ImpInt has an easy way to keep tabs on officers and disappear the undesirable ones?

He's much better In 2, a very solid Combat droid, although you have more Jedi this time around so, he's really more a bring long if you like him in that one, because he's not exceptional, but he can hold his own.

I mean the CIA's an intelligence organization and they've got bodyguards for VIPs.

Also don't quote me on this but I think Deathtroopers are exclusively in service of Tarkin Initiative members which might play a role.

There's a bane post hiding in here somewhere for me to seize. I just can't quite find it
