Should I play KOTOR 2?

Imperial Assault just got news of its next wave today.
>BT-1
>Triple-Zero
>Jawas
>Hera
>Chopper
My chassis is ready. The only thing missing is Aphra. I'm honestly surprised Hera and Chopper were the first ones we got from the Ghost crew. FFG has given us every reason to expect Sabine first.

Yes, you should! Get the Restored content mod as well. It's best through Steam, as LucasArts put out a stabilizing update a while back that allows it to play on something more modern than win XP

>Arkanians
>Cosians
>Pau'ans

get hype

yes, absolutely

>Imperial Assault miniatures are supplied unpainted.

>Unpainted

I have a goofy idea for an Arkanian Sith lord as a baddie but I need a good era for them to be in and also a game and group as well.

Yeah. It's not too bad painting things that you only have one or two of. But I am not looking forward to doing scads of Stormtroopers. (And the white armor just makes it that much worse.)

Still grinding away on starfighter combat engine. Would-be GM asked me about ranks, so I answered the only way I know how: pivot tables.

Looking for candid thoughts.

>Peace is a lie, there is only passion.

So this doesn't need to mean "fight everyone all the time."

What do the Jedi value? Inner peace. Serenity. Centered thoughts.

Peace is a lie - the Jedi are just navel gazing. They've convinced themselves that by clearing their minds they somehow approach great cosmic truth, when in fact, they only approach great cosmic stupidity.

By denying the experience of the mind, the experience of life itself, the Jedi have isolated themselves from the universe. They are a dead end, an aberration, and a lie.

Maybe sometime before Episode I? We only know about a few of Bane's Sith, so there's a lot of wiggle room.

There's always the period after KOTOR proper, where there's just a bunch of petty Sith warlords fucking around.

There's more than six enlisted ranks in most militaries, user

Based on just the X-Wing novels, the Starfighter Command ranks from "Group Captain" down are incorrect. Commanders are higher up than Captains. "Pilot" should also be amended to "Flight Officer." Other existing Legends ranks include Major, Colonel, and General, though their placement on the rank scale is a bit fuzzy. Stackpole and Allston used a mix of naval and army terminology for Starfighter Command.

To be fair, there are usually only about six interesting ranks.

The rest are moot for the purposes of an RPG, unless you have ex-military players who also love pointless detail.

>Calling the specialists mafia pointless.

Not pointless, just tedious for a game.

Starfighter corps is weird. From what we know in the books, it's more like

General
Lieutenant General
Major General
Colonel
Commander
Major
Captain
Lieutenant
Lieutenant, Junior Grade
Flight Officer
Pilot

[Angry E-4 noises]

I'm sorry, I can't hear you over the sound of pointless jargon. It's like having sixteen different kinds of polearm - handy if you really like polearms, fucking useless if you don't.

Gozanti- Automated Protocols, Shield Technician, Rear Admiral Chiraneau, Vector, Broadcast Array, Docking Clamps, Dual Laser Turret (58)

Omega Squadron Pilot- Weapons Guidance, Crackshot (20)
Omega Squadron Pilot- Weapons Guidance, Crackshot (20)

Gamma Squadron Veteran- Deadeye, Extra Munitions, Proton Torpedoes, Proximity Mines, Guidance Chips (29)

Glaive Squadron Pilot- TIE/X7, Juke (34)
Glaive Squadron Pilot- TIE/X7, Juke (34)

Colonel Vessery- TIE/X7, Swarm Leader (36)

300/300 points

What do you guys think of this list for going toe to toe with a Raider backed up by Captain Jonus? Is my Gozanti loadout good?
The Defenders and Gammas should be able to pop a Captain Jonus before the raider gets to shoot, right? I don't want to get Turbolasered too hard.
Alternatively, I could bring a swarmier list. I have the following imperial ships to work with, and I'd like to bring the Gozanti. Is there anything better I could do at 300?
Having 10 ships seems like it's not enough, even if they are fairly durable.

1 TIE advanced
2 TIE Adv. Prototypes
2 TIE Bombers
3 TIE Defenders
6 TIE Fighters
6 TIE/FOs
2 TIE Special Forces
3 TIE Interceptors
2 TIE Phantoms
2 TIE Strikers
1 TIE Punisher
1 Decimator
1 Lambda
1 Firespray
1 Gozanti

I want a TIE catamaran now

Essential mods for KOTOR 2?

I'm always amazed how Veeky Forums ignored OC and stares at pictures.

Ah well.

So I just started looking into to EoTE and noticed that there's an option to play with normal dice instead of the special ones, is this advisable?

Use the wonky dice, trust me.

It would be a pain in the ass always comparing it to the conversion tables. You'd be better off getting the dice app.

Force morality related OC is not worthwhile compared to ships.

nice

TSLRCM, thats pretty much it.

>like Star Wars
>feel like every single species is too gimmicky and just always play humans

save me from myself

Force navel gazing is boring. Post more Sienar craziness.

And if they ever made it work with restored content and you're the kinda asshole that plays Obsidian games but hates choices there's a mod to add extra passports to Onderon so you can give all of the people a way off.

Don't be too proud of this converted x-wing mini you're observing. The ability to paint a model is insignificant next to the power of the Force.

They've done that before her name was Kreia, Or Darth Traya, you're also overlooking that in Legends the original Jedi code did not forbid being human or having emotions it only asked for self control and restraint, the no marriage and sacrificing parts of your humanity for enlightenment and impartiality came later.

>squid hookers
>gimmicky

get out Wemo

I feel this as a GM some time.

I wish my PCs would just play near-humans and not make shit weird.

Ohai, Bioware! Nice of you to join us.

>implying that's not so they don't have to make strange new armors and animations for every alien

Nice, Batman TAS' Batwing as a Not X-Wing.

They just gave up on making helmets for their head-tail races too. The fuckers.

Depends on the skill of your group, I suppose.

"Too gimmicky" seems like a way of saying "requires different storytelling tools than humans," and you're implying you don't really want to learn those tools.

That's fine and all, but it's kind of lazy too.

Similarly, playing an alien who has six eyes breathes methane and constantly going "I HAVE SIX EYES and I BREATHE METHANE!" is lazy on the part of the player.

what platform would you guys recommend for an online game? Roll20? IRC?

Is there a way to get more dice at once, instead of just buying multiple packs? I was going to use the conversion tables but if it's too annoying, like is being said in this thread, I was just wondering because of how few dice there are in each pack.

I know, fourteen dice isn't really that few, but I've got a group that both doesn't share dice well and has people rolling for things at the same time or, if they don't, forgetting what they're supposed to be rolling.

Oh, and I'd prefer physical dice over the app, because my players are also a combination of unemployed people and cheapskates, so I'd be the only one with the app. We also don't like phones floating around the table since one fell and broke when someone was sharing a picture.

Roll20 works pretty great, but the GM has to pay for the fancy dice to work.

No, it's no longer canon

My wife, who is a special lady, wants to:
a) play a Twi'lek character
b) Design multiple types of knit headwear for her character
c) Actually knit the headwear
d) Stuff it
e) Wear it around

I am not sure why.

>>Arkanians
>>Cosians
>>Pau'ans

Cool, all very interesting species.

Question.
Does anyone know where that set of rebel cell generation tables we worked on a year or two back got off to?

>I am not sure why.
Probably a sex thing

God, I hope so.

I hope she doesn't use green body paint though. That stuff always stains the sheets.

Check to see if she knits a chin strap into it.

>But I am not looking forward to doing scads of Stormtroopers. (And the white armor just makes it that much worse.)
use a white primer and be slow and precise with your shading and details

She is designing one set to fit over her ski helmet.

Any logs of EoTE games?

How would I build up a stormtrooper stat block to a SCAR trooper?

Why do I keep getting autists in my game? I cant even run an Imperial game that my party wanted without it devolving into either memes, no one deciding on what to do, or general forgetfulness in games. Holy shit this gets fucking infuriating. I even set one guy to act as the leader and still nothing got fucking done

How are you finding players?

That just lets you use a conversion table. It's mechanically identical.

EotE without the special dice would be a forgettable and mediocre system.

It's 10 dollars a month. If you split that between all the players, it's virtually nothing. Still a pain, but it's not a BIG pain.

My friend made a dicebot for IRC, I'll see if he's willing to share it.

Has FFG released a Sephi/space elf race yet?

Thankfully no

If you want a hottie, you got twil'eks that have massive bonus to charisma.

My EotE party is looking more and more like they're going to end up working under the table for an Imperial Intelligence official. Anyone got any tips for running games where a bunch of smugglers and criminals get contracted by the Empire?

Start planning for the inevitable point where they know too much or fuck up somehow and get targeted for elimination.

Is it said in the new canon how the ancient Jedi were like? I'm hoping they're more like mystic monks dealing with the Force instead of self righteous ''guardians of truth and justice''.

Or the DON'T fuck up enough and they catch wind of rumors that Vader he may have a use for them.

Then they need to carefully fail to lower their profile (Hack themselves into less flashy missions?) or defect and join the Rebels.

That Vader *thinks he may have a use for them.

I really like this. Especially considering one of the players is force sensitive and trying his best to hide it (working with the Imperials is a pretty self destructive option, I know, but he made that choice).

>twi'leks
>not Falleen
what

>massive bonus to charisma

So do Toydarian's
Might be time to make up the flying pimp

Fuck her like she's a Twi'lek slave girl user

What kinda ship would a bounty hunter who likes to work alone pilot?

I'm thinking some kind of ship which is only about large starfighter size but has basic amenities and room for a prisoner or two.

Sheev is that you

Personally I'd use the Kom'rk class fighter/transport. It's agile but it has room for passengers and cargo.

Wouldn't a non-mando struggle to get a hold of one though?

Aye, but it'd make for a hell of a story about how your character stole one from Death Watch.

Arkanians are coming in the Consular book (Q2 2017), and they are basically spess-elves.

I always go the vibe they where kind of like spess-Switzerland mixed in with some mad scientists
>Fucking rich
>Very technologically advanced
>Slightly nazi
>Experiment with genetics on random species for the lulz

Though, to their credit they did try to weaponize giant space slugs (and sell them to each warring side!) and that pretty much makes them nearly the best ever species in my book

Gordon "Drewe" Henley (guy who played Garven Dreis, Red Leader) died yesterday.

user I think you mean a year ago yesterday.

He died on Valentine's Day of last year, there was an inquest concluded to his cause of death.

dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4117568/Star-Wars-actor-used-married-Felicity-Kendal-died-choking-fish-pie-eating-lunch.html

Its a depressing read.

Woops, meant to say: a year ago, a month from now, yesterday.

hey /swg/ i need your advice: up until recently i only played x-wing in a casual setup with friends, and all was good. but a short while ago i started going to my flgs to play pickup games there.

now to my actual question: the store-meta is very heavy on very few very fat ships, and particularly fat dash is very prevalent. i personally like flying 3-6 ships in my squads with 1 or 2 aces and some "cheap crap" to bolster my ranks and i'm having a lot of trouble dealing with those lists. what are some good ways to deal with this?

tl;dr: how to deal with fat dash and similar elite builds using bigger squads?

>weaponize giant space slugs

I need details on this.

An Aggressor sounds about right.

starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Exogorth/Legends

>Adascorp was able to control the hunger drives, growth rate, and reproductive fission processes of the creatures. Arkoh Adasca placed control mechanisms and hyperdrive engines on a group of slugs and sought to sell them to the Republic, the Mandalorians, or the Revanchist faction as superweapons.

> 2 PCs both have the bodyguard talent.jpg

Well, that's what I get for being sick and not reading accurately... I was surfing and saw that he passed...

One of the most interesting takes on the "superweapon of the month" syndrome in Star Wars.

This works pretty well, thanks.

I've found a few B-Wings, led by Farlander or Nubb, with your chosen form of torps and guidance chips to be pretty good at utterly obliterating lists which only bring 1 or two fat ships to the table in about 2 turns of firing.

well, i must admit that i am not too familiar with flying b-wings. i assume "nubb" is meant to be "numb"? if not who is nubb?
the problem that i foresee though is that the high mobility of especially dash combined with the fairly high pilot skill of a "fat" build would make it pretty hard to properly align a torpedo strike (since you need to get target locks in place before he moves, meaning he could arcdodge pretty well)

I know your pain. My local group mostly plays casual lists. I personally like low level dogfights. But we have 2 guys that just love their big ship meta-builds, one of which is Dash, Corran Horn and Wedge. I've had some success against that combo with a list I found online.

"Deathrain" — TIE Punisher 26
Enhanced Scopes 1
Extra Munitions 2 Ion Pulse Missiles 3
Proximity Mines 3
Proximity Mines 3
Autothrusters 2 Ship Total: 40

"Redline" — TIE Punisher 27
Accuracy Corrector 3
Extra Munitions 2 Cluster Missiles 4
Cluster Missiles 4
Ion Bombs 2 Autothrusters 2
Ship Total: 44

"Dark Curse" — TIE Fighter 16 Ship Total: 16

You could probably sub out one of the punishers (deathrain, most likely) for a couple of Defenders and still achieve the same result.

>There's more than six enlisted ranks in most militaries, user
Well aware. Nobody will be playing an enlisted soldier, so that's simply for the purposes of shorthand.

>Based on just the X-Wing novels,
Yeah, sorry, no. Ignoring those because they're specifically wrong thanks to Aftermath.

>he rest are moot for the purposes of an RPG
I'm the military player and I don't give a shit about that sort of fidelity. If I wanted it to be entirely correct, you'd just have Crewman 3rd Class through 1st Class and Private 3rd Class through 1st Class. But there's no point in differentiating for an RPG.

>Starfighter corps is weird
Again, I know the exact rank structure from the EU. But I also know that that's wrong now.

Yes, I'm aware that E-4s are the backbone of any military operation. I also don't need that sort of fidelity for a game.

Thanks for the feedback, anons.

Since Star Wars is WWII in space, what is the Space Flying Fortress?

Right here user.

Shouldn't it be that other Correllian freighterfrom recent episodes?
The one that was throwing explosive cargo pods at imperial ships.
