Jacob Hall
Rolled 14 (1d100)
Joshua Gutierrez
Ultramarines, what a suprise!
Gene-seed purity (d10)
Dominic Davis
Could we swap these rolls? Would really make things more interesting.
Henry Howard
We'll see in the end. And if everyone agrees then I say we could do it, but for now let's continue
Ayden Thompson
Rolled 10 (1d10)
David Wright
Flawed - Chapter's gene-seed is flawed and sets them apart from their progenitor
Whelp, looks like we are a flawed bunch of Marines
Next roll: Chapter Demeanour (d10)
Connor Walker
Rolled 10 (1d10)
John Smith
Uphold the Honour of the Emperor - Performing unheroic acts? *BLAM* No

If they have one, what mutation do they have? (d10)
Isaac Jones
Rolled 2 (1d10)
Fugg.
Grayson Brown
Oversensitive Occulobe - "I'm in the dark and I can see perfectly! How usefuAAAAH THE SUN'S COMING UP HOLY EMPEROR MY EYES"
Ok time for our flaw (d10)
Adrian Adams
Hold up, don't we have to roll on chances of mutation? Mutation is separate from flaws.
Colton Perez
Ok, my bad.
Leo Clark
Anyone still here?
Bentley Howard
Rolled 6 (1d10)
Okay, flaw rolling.
Anthony Fisher
Faith in Suspicion - The Chapter particularly hates a single Imperial institution, and refuses to work with them.
Oh, good one. But why do we hate that institution?
Next roll: Figure of Legend (d100)
Grayson Perez
Rolled 80 (1d100)
Ryan Mitchell
I agree with the other user
Isaac Scott
Company Captain (roll d10 to determine which company)
Dylan Anderson
Rolled 4 (1d10)

Michael James
Rolled 46 (1d100)
Henry Baker
The individual was a stalwart enemy of the servants of Chaos, and slew a Daemon Prince.
Sounds badass to me

Logan Ward
Rolled 66 (1d100)
Asher Nguyen
Medieval World
Terrain (d100)
Dominic Green
Rolled 75 (1d100)

Wasteland
So our chapter homeworld is a feudal wasteland. I wonder how that came to be.
Next roll: Rule of homeworld (d10)
Wyatt Bennett
Rolled 10 (1d10)
Connor Parker
Distant rule - "You see that castle up there? It's inhabited by the mighty sky-warriors of Emp-rar. Sometimes they come and steal our children."
Ok, so we rule fro afar
Moving on: Chapter organisation (d10)
Asher Hall
Rolled 2 (1d10)
Jose Howard
Unique organization get! Deviance, ho! Let us shame the smurfs!
Nolan Watson
Rolled 3 (1d10)

Rolled 27 (1d100)
Ian White
Revere the Primarch - "Our Spiritual Liege is better than yours!"
At what strength is the Chapter? (d10)
Austin Bell
Rolled 10 (1d10)
Henry Peterson
Makes sense if we're smurfs
Josiah Stewart
Over Strength: Some Chapters maintain more than the prescribed ten companies, though it is rare for more than a handful more to be fielded and even then only temporarily. It may be that the Emperor’s Tarot has predicted terrible losses ahead, or that the Chapter simply regards its numbers as optimal and cares little for the dictates of the Codex Astartes
WE STRONK!!!
Who are your Chapter friendly with? (d100)
James Morgan
Rolled 11 (1d100)
William Ross
Adeptus Arbites
Enemies (d100)
Eli Perez
Rolled 13 (1d100)
Nice, space cops
Leo Long
Orks
That's the entire table, now let's fluff them out, give them a name, etc.
Samuel Ward
Well, recap them so we have a neat post from which to reference them. Without that, we'd have to scroll through the entire thread to figure out who they are.
Ian Garcia
Not OP, but here's a recap.
>Purpose: Counter >Founding: 39th Millenium >Progenitor: Ultramarines >Purity: Flawed >Demeanor: Uphold the Honor of the Emperor >Flaw: Faith in Suspicion >Hero: 4th Company Captain >Deed: Enemy of Chaos, slew a demon Prince >Home World: Medieval World >Terrain: Wasteland >Rule Type: Distant Rule >Organization: Codex Adherent >Doctrine: Siege >Number: Over Strength >Friend: Adeptus Arbites >Enemy: Orks
Let me know if I cocked anything up.
Joshua Mitchell
So it's an Ultramarines successor that sees Uriel ventris as an example to follow?
Wyatt Gutierrez
Did we ever establish who these guys don't like, in particular? You know, for Faith in Suspicion?
Oliver Rogers
Hmm. Okay, so the "Honor of the Emperor", "Distant Rule", "Medieval" and "Wasteland" parts are kind of giving me a "Crusaders in the Holy Land" vibe. A decent "direction" might be a shithole planet where the planet's youth who succeed in their pilgrimages to Catholic-flavored-Astartes-Mecca are accepted into their ranks? Dunno, just spitballing.
Asher Sullivan
...though, thinkin' about it, we could just go full-on Muslim Marines. Why not? The Templars already have "Crusade flavor" locked down.
Daniel Baker
The crusaders vibe fits with being siege warriors. Not to my knowledge. Ecclesiarchy? Mechanicum? Inquisition? Who else could we have cause to beef with, lads?
Jack James
. . . actually yeah. It's a niche I don't think has been filled by an Astartes chapter yet. Might be work it.
Jeremiah Hill
>Uphold the honor of the Emperor >Faith in Suspicion >Slew a Demon Prince >Over Strength Okay, who spiked our Geneseed with Black Templar?
Bentley Martinez
Heh, so, what, these guys are gonna be reverse Crusaders? Striking out from the Space Holy Land to kill the infidel heretics in Space Europe?
Brayden Perez
What should we name them?
Xavier Smith
>Space Saracens >Don't like a specific institution So we don't like the Ecclesiarchy, they're not teaching the Proper Word of the Emperor handed down by the Prophet Guilliman
Nicholas Anderson
Should they have some chaplain that they rally around, who is the foundation of their teachings, solidifying the chapter morally?
Bentley Butler
Oh my god A++
Yeah man! Or maybe we're fortification-based because we've fortified all our planets against the orks we were send to fend off, and the crusades in this instance are actually just WAAAAGHs.
Star Dervishes? Warriors of the Faith?
Mason Flores
>Ecclesiarchy
Always makes for fun times. If you're going full Allahu Akbar, then they also worship the God-Emperor as divine; the Ecclesiarchy is just the WRONG way of worshiping him.
Justin Reed
Maybe it's not a chaplain, but the teachings of their heroic captain, because muslims don't necessarily into an ordained priesthood? Mohammad was a prophet and general both remember.
Liam Cox
No, our 4th company captain who is a glorious martyr in the name of the Prophet as demonstrated by his deeds >inb4 he blew himself up to stop the Daemon prince
Cooper Garcia
>The Primarchs, and other Imperial saints, haven't actually been touched by the Emperor's light -- the likes of Guilliman are mere prophets.
We should also call either our Captains or our Chaplains "Clerics" and have a council of them choose our chapter master
Noah Reed
Any reason we couldn't have chaplains and captains be merged as an institution?
Adam Young
We're codex-compliant I thought
Matthew Parker
The letter, but not the spirit of it? Maybe our Clerics could be the really holders of power and authority in the chapter and the captains are more like administrative functionaries.
Colton Bennett
Having the warleader and the spiritual leader be separate makes sense. The council of clerics can simply be a powerful voice in chapter governance.
David Green
The issue is that our 4th captain is a hero of the chapter.
It would be nice and fluffy to do away with the codex-compliant roll and combine Chaplains and Captains, but idk how other anons feel about it
Jaxon Torres
Wouldn't it be better just to change the hero?
Matthew Morgan
Maybe the clerics evaluate who's worthy to be a captain, and the chapter master is elected by a consultation of all marines in the chapter?
I thought we already had that the chapter master was elected by the Clerical Council, because if so I would say the true power of the chapter should by the Master of Sanctity and the Chapter master would be a figurehead leader
Jonathan Wood
Could work either way, like the battle brothers appoint their own clerics from the wisest and most holy among them (with the approval of the other clerics, of course).
Chase Reed
Maybe the Chapter Master is essentially the "head general", but the Master of Sancticity holds the most clout on the Chapter Council? I like this one. Maybe the Chapter insignia could be the crossed swords of the Muslim Brotherhood, with a skull or a star or something?
Dylan Moore
Star makes the most sense if we're going with Star Dervishes. Also surprisingly underutilised in a game about space marines.
Thomas Sanders
Either name works for me, I like the logo idea
Levi Kelly
Sorry, I misread which post that guy was replying to. Swords of Ishmael works great for me, too. Maybe we could use the term Dervish or some other Islamic warrior term for a specialised unit within the chapter?
>mfw we have a codex-violatingly large rabble of scouts and serfs supporting us called the mujahideen
Owen Wright
>Oversized chapter >maintains large pool of skirmish-fighter scouts with little-to-no oversight from chapter authority.
I shiggy diggy user, minimum 2 companies of Mujahideen it is. High mortality rates among them and survivors inducted into the chapter
William Sanders
I like this vibe, I think if we're going for this sort of inspo we should be rigidly dogmatic to the letter of the codex but have our own weird twist on the spirit of it that sets us apart from the infidels
Cooper Wilson
They fight with almost suicidal bravery because if they prove themselves worthy their bodies and souls will be infused with the Emperor's physical blessing and they will rise to the ranks of his angels.
Liam White
maybe also if there's a vague distinction between the actual scouts and the mobs of serfs and faithful zealots who just kinda follow the chapter around
Maybe we can 'grant them passage' aboard our vessels as 'pilgrims' and not-so-subtly deploy them en masse against the enemy
Chase Perez
For either name, I like this minus the writing, change the emblem to a four-pointed star.
Gavin Lewis
And so it takes shape. Good suggestions all around
Hunter Foster
>Swords of Ishmael works great for me, too. Maybe we could use the term Dervish or some other Islamic warrior term for a specialised unit within the chapter? Loving it.
Jason Reyes
Mocked up some potential color schemes.
Bentley Howard
I want to go with green, black and white (with red for vets, or something), but I'm not sure about the best arrangement.
Jaxon Sanders
What if we just pick and choose the parts of the Codex we like?
Like we could justify the Mujahideen as part of the codex sections on scouting and emphasize the idea of "loyalty" found in the codex as spiritual and religious
Parker Jones
Maybe try reversing the black/green sections? What does that look like?
David Ross
>Islam came into being after Mohammed "clarified" the Torah/Bible What if the titular Ishmael was a "prophet" who "clarified" the Codex? So they're adherent to the Codex Ishmael, not the Codex Astartes. Naturally, this causes friction with the Ultramarines.
Ayden Flores
This is baller, and pretty much what I was thinking (green, white, black). Maybe the amount of black on their armour signifies their sanctity until they're wearing full black chaplain gear?
Brandon Nguyen
The Swords of Fish, is a superior name.
Liam Parker
Oh I love this
Jack James
The white helmets I dig because it sort of evokes chaplains.
Samuel Price
They're codex compliant, they're just not Imperial Cult compliant. This may manifest in some of their stranger practices and behaviors (like their chaplaincy effectively electing their leadership), but on the surface they look, act, and organize like a Space Marine chapter.
