first for tau master race

Gonna play a game versus a friend tomorrow. My list is the guys on the right, his the guys on the left.

What do y'all think? We in for a fun/interesting/neat game or not?

3rd for slaanesh

Don't. From last thread
Alright Veeky Forums

What's that one model you keep putting off finishing

>there's probably a lot of models you've put off or left unfinished, but you know the one I'm talking about, the worst one, the one you cringe and are disappointed to think about

Tonight's the night, just do it

Nth for my insomnia

>tfw named Duncan.
>tfw can't go to GW without people whispering and pointing.
>tfw the younger patrons call you "Saint Duncan"
>tfw people leave small offerings of dried out paint pots and poorly painted marines at my door.
>tfw don't even have an english accent.
>tfw can't paint.

If you guys play a nice littered table top of terrain where you can find lots of cover, I say it would be a fun match for Raptors

How strong are spess mehreens to humans? Like Andre the Giant to Tyrion Lannister?

I've still got 22 points to play around with. Any major suggestions, significant changes? I don't have the time to do up more than maybe or two changes but open to C&C.

reposting from the last thread:

Is there a list that shows which 30k models can be used in 40k too.

I know that you can field contemptors and Sicaran Battle-tanks but cant field a primarch.

Im interested in the Heavy-support Kakophani and the Legion Praetors.(I mean i could just play them as really expensive Noise Marines and as Chaos Terminator Lord I just wanna know)

Woops

Space Marines can cave in a human rib cage with one bunch. Human bones are as tough as concrete. You do the math.

So Andre the Giant compared to a newborn?

>Aeldari
Gayest name ever conceived?

I find meltavets in chimeras do more than scions.

But autocannons are good, they don't break SM armor, but they wound on 2s and have multiple shots.

A space marine can take on as many normal human bodybuilders as Arnie can take on 10y/o kids

thats in the fluff not the tabletop

Depends on who's writing them but usually a space marine can one shot a human bare handed and is very hard to kill even with anti tank weapons

>in one story a black Templar takes a plasma blast to the face and he lives, I mean in a dreadnought but he lives

There isn't a formal list, afaik. Kakophani could be used as Noise Marines and a Primarch could be used as a Daemon Prince.

Several Legion-specific units don't really have a 40k equivalent.
The bigger issue is in the weapons department. There are two main issues:
1) Several 30k weapons don't exist in 40k (Volkites, mostly)
2) 30k lists can take many, many more heavy/special weapons. Many more than can be used in an equivalent squad in 40k.
For example, there is no 40k marine squad that can take 10 flamers or meltaguns, and devastators can only take 4 heavy weapons whereas a 30k heavy support squad can take up to 10.

Also, 30k terminators can mix and match weapons, but 40k (loyalist) terminators cannot. That won't affect you much, since you play CSMs, but I feel like I should note it.

Most vehicles have chaos versions in Imperial Armour Volume 13, but you cannot take any jetbikes or land speeders at all.

What other units in particular to you have questions about?

Nah your parents thought of that one my dude

Are you still trying to troll that one guy? Just give it up, that was hours ago, that bait ain't fresh

dont autocannons have armorbane? not sure how it interacts tho

>he is STILL mad

If 40k goes the way of Age of Sigmar I'll likely end up selling most of my stuff. Would anyone here, who would stick with the game regardless, be willing to buy some of my stuff?

I'd like to know now so I can decide whether to sell now or wait.

Is there a pdf of Fracture of Biel-Tan out yet?

no

What would be the most realistic way to end 40k, taking history and setting mechanics into account?

I've got an Imperial Knight that I need to assemble, magnetize, and paint. I've got a big backlog of other stuff too, but I just kinda want to save that for later.

Yes

Is it as bad as FoC?

Just to nitpick a little bit, tech-priest dominus has volkite blaster, but he's the only one in 40k

What point value are you playing with?

Yes, and he's also not in a marine army.

Thas god damn hilarious.
Disappointed in lack of orks on both sides (considering the theme, I don't really like Orks otherwise), but otherwise hilarious.

Dreadnoughts are AV12 frontal though, the Plasma would need to roll a 4 to glance, 5+ to pen.

:^)

Haven't read it yet

Sorry should have said that - 1850.

It has a superior waifu, so no.

Where can one obtain it?

Tru dat

>dat poem

Laziest, perhaps. It's like the equivalent of a 15-year-old coming up with their own fantasy world, and renaming the stock fantasy races "Elvii", "Dwarfun", etc. in a lazy attempt at originality.

No the plasma is what put him in a naught

was eyeing up Eidolon, Phoenix Terminators and Palatine Blades but theyre currently on "Email-me" so I wont buy them until next month or so

maybe the EC side-note in Fracture of Biel-tan turns out to be a thing and we get Slaanesh Dupstep Terminators in 40k like 1ksons did

Blood Angels are disgusting abberants.

The Codex Astartes does not support this thread.

>disgusting xenos dyke

It's been linked around here on request. I'm too lazy to get out of bed and do it myselfright now. I'm sure someone will come along and do it.

Need help on army.
Second half coming soon.

>Phoenix Terminators
Chaos Terminators w/ Power Weapons. Only problem is that the models don't have combi-bolters, but it's not a big one.

>Palatine Blades
Chosen with Power Weapons. Unfortunately you can't take more than 4 or 5 pwrwpns in a chosen squad, but they'd make for beautiful sergeants/champions.

You might want to ask /hhg/ their opinion on how those two units actually play in 30k. I've heard bad things about the Termies.

>eyeing up Eidolon
You mean purple fat Skrillex?
Just look at his torso, that boy thicc.

Not bowing in worship to her thighs the moment you saw her

Wait here I need to grab the commissar

Wait. Can you seriously just take ministorum priests as their own one-man formations now?

What is even the point of limiting the Guard to three priests per detachment if you can just take as many as you want as allied detachments?

For that matter, did they just make Commissars obsolete because you can now take as many fearless zealots as you please?

Inquisitor Grayfax didn't bow though......
Not that I'm defending the other user.

A space marine fluff wise is basicly captain America in iron man's armour I guess, if captain America was not skinny at the start but closer to a world champion level strongman who then went through that treatment.
And then if Matt ward is around, you have the ultramarines, who are basicly what space marines are to space marines that are to a normal man.

If it does i will sell too. Are you considering any other games?

Tournaments that have detachment limits.

>And then if Matt ward is around, you have the ultramarines, who are basicly what space marines are to space marines that are to a normal man.
I'm still wondering how Ward managed to turn "UMs are the SM jack-of-all-trades" into "UMs are the bestest Spess Muhreenz 5eva",

Not really. I don't particularly like the models in Warmachine/Hordes and don't have an interest in X-Wing. I'm also not into card games, so Magic and the like are out too.

40k is the only Veeky Forums-related game I play, or really have any interest in.

>She does more than bow in my own fantasies

Really activated my almonds.

Tell the full story user, what is ward actually working on?

>hint it's not 40k fluff or rules

The hilarious part is people say Ward made Draigo because he couldn't bring back Roboute.
You fools gave that challenge to Ward.
now you're paying for it

>>Matt Ward comes back Nov 16
>>Guilliman awoken in Feb 17
All jokes aside, GW releases are generally planned 1.5-2 years in advance, so nah.

He was given carte Blanche for the space marines and was apparently obsessed with Roman culture from a young age, he took the oppurtunity to make lore that every chapter wants to be the ultramarines, even if they were second founding out of a different legion, or even a first founder.

Thus, ultramarines rule the world of man now, and with pic related its only going to get worse.

The people in control of GW and who are higher than the writers don't care about the game or lore, its business to them, so people like ward are left unchecked and he is just the beginning.

I've been getting back into playing 40k and am i the only one that thinks the allies system is ridiculous, especially for a game that should be trying to steer itself away from min-maxing.
It breaks the game with cheesy combinations and ruins the unique qualities of the armies themselves, why invest in any army when you can just google "da bes" guys from each (yes i know it has limitations but still)
Was on the fence about playing competitively in local tournaments but now I'm completely put off after hearing that most of the people i will be playing against will be running ridiculous tau/eldar armies.

I'm pretty new to 40k and would like to make a nazi themed army. Is the imperial guard the best army for this or is it space marines since they are more elite and tech heavy?

You know allies are rarely used in competitive right?
Allies really only helped the Imperium, and that makes sense.
Everything else is pretty much solo, cause they can't pair well/don't need to pair with others.

>Really activated my almonds.

How much? I want to make a viral video of a burning army again.

>Allies aren't used in competitive play
>What is Riptide Wing
>What is nearly every Chaos Army

There's the Red Scorpions for Nazi Space Marines.
Practically all Imperial Guard have Nazi themes, but Death Korps of Krieg is one the closest.
better not be /pol/ bait, user.

>what is taudar
>what is a riptide wing

>Eldar
>Necrons
I'm sorry, two of three current OP armies seemingly don't have allies for some reason.
I wonder why.
And chaos in competitive? You'll have to enlighten me on that.

>helped write End Times, setting the stage for Age of Sigmar
>didn't have a hand in writing the shit that led to Girlyman's return 2.5 years after he left
pls user. pls.

Eldar - Do you understand how many Riptide Wings get run in competitive Eldar armies? Its called Taudar for a reason.

Necrons - aren't competitive, try again.

Competitive Chaos - Demons, KDK, and Renegades and Heretics.

Taudar is quite rare m8.
Most people solo those armies cause their cheesy enough on their own.

Gotta say, Decurions.
None of those chaos choices are competetive last time I checked.
Once more, I don't see Taudar as often as you make it out to be.

Is there a book that has massive space battles with loyalist ships?
Also what are the best books to read about chaos marines as well as tau? Not asking for one with both since I believe there is currently no encounters aside from super limited experiences between the two

You are fucking wrong. Did you watch any of the LVO coverage?

Just go to fucking Blood of Kittens and look at the top lists. They constantly and consistently use allies. Eldar ally with Corsairs all the fucking time.

Death korps is WW1 west-front Wehrmacht not WW2 but I guess

Emprah wakes up and deletes everything he does not like.

It'd take awhile to catalogue everything. I've got several armies and most of them are large, so I couldn't even begin to figure out a cost (especially since AotE would probably devalue most of it).
I've got:
Sisters of Battle
Valhallans
Vostroyans
Cadians (metal army and plastic army)
Space Marines (many, many models, much of it unbuilt)
Chaos Daemons
Chaos Marines
Night Lords (30k)
Orks
Dark Eldar (3e and modern models)
Necrons (original metal and some plastic, but nothing from 5e or later)
Grey Knights
Various RT bits, inquisitors, ambull, adventurers, etc

If the rumors pan out about 30k remaining nearly the same I'll probably keep the Night Lords and Vostroyans (to use as Solar Auxilia). I'd probably keep the Sisters as well.

So what you're saying is you don't know a fucking thing about competitive play?

Demons aren't competitive? They made 2 of the top 8 in LVO. Renegades and Heretics isn't competitive? THE LIST FUCKING WON THE LVO.

Just go here and read so you can stop looking so fucking dumb.

bloodofkittens.com/7th-edition-army-list-compendium/

>he took the oppurtunity to make lore that every chapter wants to be the ultramarines, even if they were second founding out of a different legion, or even a first founder.
This is probably the most astounding part of it. It's at least somewhat understandable that UMs are consider the epitome of Space Marines, because of the Codex and all, but I'd think the view that they're basically celebrities to be envied and worshipped rather than just a baseline would be limited mainly to Chapters with close genetic and cultural ties to them. Instead, though, Ward took the opportunity to basically say "lol, your Chapter's lore, culture, history, and Primarch don't really matter, the important thing is that they have anxiety over not being Ultraclones, and really want Girlyman to be their Ultradad".

Ward's UM fetish been discussed to death at this point though, so I'm not even sure why I'm saying this.

Fair point. I forgot that he left just after working on End Times.

TBh, Craftworld Eldar or Imperial Guard.

>You might want to ask /hhg/ their opinion on how those two units actually play in 30k. I've heard bad things about the Termies.

They're not bad per se, but you could just build a more points efficient unit with aTartaros Terminator Command Squad that are also equipped with Phoenix Spears.

Death Korps are WWI. That's before the Nazis, user.

Not that guy but honestly looking at that makes me feel like the game generally is pretty balanced considering how many factions have wins

>hundreds, if not thousands, of schmeckles invested into 1 game system
>literally 1 game system
>not even rumours of upcoming rules have been posted
>immediate assumption that rules are going to shit
>with no substantial proof, immediately resorts to purging years' worth of hobby
>with no plans to compensate

I get that certain rumours point to something you're not interested in, but there's certainly a better course of action.

...

Is there any possibility of getting a codex for servo skulls?

This is my point though, usually an army will have strengths and weakness but with allies you're just cherry-picking the best units in the game without ever having any drawbacks, as an ork player this sickens me and it's just not in the spirit of the game

Yeah, I can't really think of any WWII-style Wehrmacht models in the Imperial Guard range. You'd have to go 3rd party for that.

How does this look as a "slottable" setup for a melee blob? Idea is that the Techmarine might keep the LRC mobile and survive a bit longer while also being a pretty potent support model for melee combat.
