These are the dominant race. They're about half a foot long

>cities have their buildings focused on the roofs, where people walk and associate with others.
>presumably, streets were used only to bring in things or maybe even used as toilets.
>a group of five warships is a threat to an entire civilization

The world is entirely flat, but off on the horizon in all directions ice mountains can be seen. It is forbidden to travel to them

>>a group of five warships is a threat to an entire civilization
so city states?

Most cities have water where you would normally expect roads to be. Hence the birdges and such

>Giant Sinkholes sometimes appear in a seemingly non-random patern/interval

Interesting... We can work with this.

> Giant Snakes are a dangerous apex predator, and are one of the primary reasons city dwellers live on their roofs

Yes, but not limited to. Heavily centralized power structures reliant on monarch gods. All late bronze age civilizations around the Mediterranean collapsed in a 50 year period. We know a lot about Egypt, because it's loss was not a permanent one, but they never recovered.
Around the area, Greeks rose and quite possibly the ancient Israel. (The Hittite were considered a myth for a long time, too. The region is angry and they purge things fanatically).

This actually has precedence there was a group of people in the middle east who's homes only had an opening on the roof because bulls, and other beasts, would run rampant and kill people.

>Pikes are the primary weapon used by militia to keep these large beasts at bay.
>The wealthy use body armor covered in spikes so that if eaten in death they may still kill the serpent.
>Warships are long multi-deck galleys restricted to the coast line.

>construction has begun to build massive bridges between the major cities
>the land being so difficult to traverse, most people rarely leave their birth place

>The ones who do leave are demigods seeking fortune and adventure.

>most of the ground is covered in green sand
>the dominant material is plastic
>instead of the sun, the world is lit up by a huge pillar of fire that rises from the centre of the world in the morning and goes back down in the evening

>City states wage war semi-constantly. Some say that the god-kings have been fighting these wars for aeons......

>Warships are long multi-deck galleys restricted to the coast line.
Triremes absolutely have to be in. Give one faction some form of Greek fire as well.

>Greek fire
>not greek water

>in addition to that, the bastard families and descendants of the demigods have to prove their value and blood, and are sent out there to explore.
>Those who return are vastly more powerful, and make names of themselves on the seas or battlefield
>most Kings and other theocrats see them as a dangerous asset and use honorary positions and horrible tasks to nullify the danger, or pit them against one another
>rare few of the most powerful world leaders dare challenge even the demigods like this (think of Heracles)
>some high mountains climb up to the heavens to construct the megadungeon if needed. Bat-like harpies live there, among other horrors and even some civilizations and their ruins
>world doesn't end, nor is it a globe. Instead, the sea begins to curve inwards, the high seas forming the sky, the island nations of the distance dotting the night sky with their lights
>the megadungeon is the shortest route across, and it's center holds the palace of the gods

>Bat-like harpies
Kek, I just noticed that that they'd be a race of female vampires.

>The green sand is made up primarily of copper.
>Tin is as valuable as silver or gold. Warlords guard deposits of it well to turn copper to bronze.

>The most wise oracle lives in a cave(turned palatial complex from the tribute brought to her) near the pillar. You must travel to and from at night or be burnt alive.

A Dyson Sphere water world kept alive by a column of fire... I like it.

>sometimes shooting stars fall down (or up, depending on where on the Dyson Sphere your standing) Wishes made upon them bring ruin and destruction to the one who made it

>>The green sand is made up primarily of copper.
>>Tin is as valuable as silver or gold. Warlords guard deposits of it well to turn copper to bronze
Bronze statues are the absolute sign of wealth, and every one who is actually somebody needs to have one. A bronze codpiece will do for the minor god kings

>Those tall fair haired men of the north believe themselves to be dreaming this world. As such even the lowest of them goes into battle with reckless glory seeking abandon.

Since it is a Dyson sphere water world... What horrors lie in the depths? What kind of seabed can there be?
Aside from underwater Islands on endless coral reefs.
>the demons of this world come from the depths, and have submarines of some sort, or ghost ships and sea monsters

>The fabulous tombs/crypts/mounds of lords are furnished like a dragons hoard in bronze armor and weapons. Adventurers loot these, despite the curses.

>Islands that grow to greedy or great are swallowed up by the god of the sea.

>the land is actually two humongous metallic trees branching off into islands and continents, on the opposite sides of the megadungeon
>the coral reefs and underwater ruins are situated near the branches, but can expand far and wide, sometimes far enough to produce more land
>the world map is a beautiful pirouette

>The wealthy breed giant eagles, griffons, or hippogryphs to travel. They have attempted to curtail the production and sail of magical artifacts that would allow cheap travel.

>There's another group of humans with brown hair , copper-tan skin and green eyes that survives in the wilds.
>They are infamous hunters and raiders often seen riding on the backs of drakes.
>Their society is tribal and extreemly Darwinistic believing in the survival of the fittest.

>they live in artificial scarcity to make them all tougher
>they are the easiest people to bribe, and many nations do just that to keep them away

>This sphere was created by a precursor race. The column of fire is part of the engine and propulsion system that moves the world about the cosmos.
>No one is piloting anymore. The control room is lost in the "Mega Dungeon". Curses forbid those unworthy from enter saying "Keep Out", and "Authorized Personnel Only"
>They occasionally run into planets. Which are then warred against and stripped of valuables.

So far this has been one of the better world building threads. OP, are you alive or is your mind burning with new ideas?

>the cost of bribing is draining, however, for each individual has to be bribed, otherwise they will turn on the one given an unfair advantage in order to ensure their continued survival

>They are right to do so because each time the drake riders decide to move against a city-state that offended them to much they destroy every living thing in it sparing nobody and even deeming the women unworthy of procreating with because of their weakness (let's avoid turning them into rapists by making them genocidal as fuck).

>It's all fresh water except for salt lakes found far inland.
>
>Many of their greatest warriors despise this life style and become fat rich champions for kings and city-states.

>The magic in this world that is acessible to humans can only be turned inwards and is mostly used for strenghtening the body and healing while very rare mages are able to use it to transform into different beings.

>Griffons are actually horrible beasts, and usually eat their would be masters, but everybody thinks that they just flew to the gods
>this is not told to party members, and they'll have a hidden boss fight waiting for them to get rich

Their societies preserve themselves with huge slave populations of up to 70%.

Kind of goes against the individualistic darwinistic theme, doesn't it?

I am alive, to some extent.

> Casting magic outward requires a magical artifact, which can only be created with complicated rituals and extensive meditation. Of course, there are many magical artifacts scattered throughout the ancient ruins.

>many of these tribes lose to their slaves as some of the weaker ones ally and conspire with the slaves, only to get themselves on top
>These tribes are conquered or devoured by the surrounding forces

It's pretty much describing Sparta by now.

>The obidient slaves are used as shepperds and servants guarding their herds.
>The disobidient slaves are used as bait for monsters the tribe activley hunts.
>Slaves that demonstrate strenght and ability are often rewarded with freedom and join the tribe.

>No...You see the society is devoted to getting stronger and will often delegate the work with the young tribe members acting as suprevisors and learning the basic skills needed to maintain the tribes function at all times.

It's already a mix of Sparta, Slavs and Mongols.

Why avoid rape? It's not like our epics or war stories center around the issue, if they even mention it.

They could be prudes who only take in the children and biology follows.

I have an idea.
Rather than mere drake riders, why not have drake chariots?

>Hoards of Hunnic centaurs who's power is measured by how much empty depopulated land surrounds their tribe.

There are terrible band of roving rapist out there though. They're notAmazons, and they want your man.

You sir/madam, are brilliant!

>drake chariots
my chocolate comrade

>Their society is extemely protective of their women granting them great authority.
>Filial piety is viewed as the highes virtue besides strenght.

Let's go with the Darwinistic theme where they deem the weak unworthy.

Slaves are only those who were captured in open combat outside of sieges.

>There was a small faction of drake riders who took to using chariots for battle.
>They are limited to a small area of lowlands suitable for their chariots tho and have become fairly sedetary using their slaves for agriculture instead of staying on the move and hunting monsters. The other raider tribes despise them for their ''weakness'' but still grudgnly trade for food products with them.

(I have nothing to contribute, but let's bump a creative thread instead of yet another pile of garbage)

If we go full Darwin here, they should have a winner class of Bards making women laugh and having the brutes grow their children.

Allnighters are the key to opening the imagination.

I said Darwinist not cuckolds Sven.
Do you really think that men in a culture like that would allow them selves to wear the green hat?

You do understand that a nomadic nation of monster hunters wouldn't be able to support something like that.

>Instead Bards are the old sages of the tribe who managed to live to an old age and pass on their expiriences through songs.
>They are rewered for their knowledge and are the only tribe members who are sole supported by the tribe besides the children too young to train.

Done and done

>The chariots act more akin to sleds on the ground and a glider in the air.
>Chariots are slightly faster than a solo rider. They are drawn by 2-6 drakes and the platforms carries 1-3 warriors.

This is truth.

>One of the different drake-rider tribes took on them selves the idea of researching more draconic beasts to gain their powers.
>They managed to tame Wyverns as areal mounts and Earth-Wyrms which feed on plants as pack animals and tunnel diggers.
>They also have an elite caste of warrior-priests which managed to imbue them selves with dragon-blood. They often have snake-like eyes or tounges and some are even able to transform their hands and feet into bronze-like claws.

>the world is populated by sentient hurricanes that sustain themselves by sucking in flora and fauna and draining it of the lifeforce
>there are valuable crystals in the mines that allow to speed up or slow down time in the area around them
>the column of fire is actually inhabited by ifrits who build their ring cities around it and travel between them on asbestos flying carpets

>I said Darwinist not cuckolds Sven.
You think Darwin plays fair? Or women? Or craven wussies? Nah, I'm making the dumb brutes understand that there is no winning if they trust women.

>Dumb brutes
>Somehow able to maintain a society

Are you just that desperate for your NTR fetish after the rape was turned down?
Then use it on the not!Greek city states instead, they should be far more prone to degeneracy than an Egalitarian tribal society.

Dude what the hell?
Not everything is about fetishes. Rape happens literally in every war. I said not to focus on it.
As for the NTR part, it's what happened in Sparta. Willingly though, the older men wanted younger men to fuck their wives.
That's what a culture of str worship leads to.

I hate Sparta and I want others to do it as well. Dumb animals.
The drakes are great tho.

You do notice that this is relativley different to Sparta right?
These guys are closer to Mongols and Slavs except Darwinistic and forming a meritocracy with similar familiar valuses as Han chinese.

Meanwhile Sparta had:
>Oh hey lets send our sons to get raped by fat 30 year old men who will starve them if they don't give them ass.
>Oh hey let them murder-fuck our farmers so they can went their stress.
>Oh hey let's not actually wage wars.
>Oh hey let's actually kill our own children right after they are born.
>Oh hey let's ban our men from fucking their women most of the time and make sure when they do so the women look like men which is kinda hard to do when most of your women look like models and somehow kills the man-loving boners of Spartan men.

Sparta was just full on Gay communism.

>These guys are closer to Mongols and Slavs
Except being raiders, in what way are they close to Mongols at all, let alone Slavs?

Nah, if anything exerting your will over the weak is survival of the fittest at it's purest.

>Darwinistic and forming a meritocracy
Sorry lad, but those two are always in effect.

They are nomadic raiders, slavery is a way to integrate into their society (The slavic identity spread in exactly this way. Each time they enslaved someone they'd give them the opportunity to learn their language and earn back their freedom by becoming a worthy asset to their tribes, also the fact that they are pretty much easily bribed by foreign powers and won't follow anyone who doesn't have total power and dominance).

Getting lots of descendants who survive better than others is darwinism. This would mean high adaptive ability and a combination of charisma and endurance, or in the case of riders, they could focus on agility (for maneuvering in those carts and on the backs) and strength. They could even be lacking in con/end due to their reliance on beasts of burden.

I want /pol/ and especially lefty/pol/ to stop their shit and return to wordbuilding.

>The city states have a bull-race tradition designed to cull the number of citizens when the city-state isn't able to support the growing population.

Yeah, when Veeky Forums does erotica, it should be magical realm. Monstergirls and vampires are the vanilla.

>the bulls are sentient and gore people with great reluctance

> If the fallen stars land on solid ground, once cooled, the "star-shards" make some of the best material for weapons and armor in the world.

>Similarry some powerfull beasts have crystals made out of their condensed magic in their skulls. They are hunted for this material as it is essential for making enchanted equipment.

Bumping kickass thread with dank antiquitated architecture.

Some hills are littered with stone circles and bones of what seems to be a race of humanoids with giant skulls.
Most of the skulls strangely enough have stone blocks in their mouths, a fact that confuses the contemporary scolars.

(Giants with retarded kids who kill them selves by eating legos)

What's in the fucking basket?!

Probably some water.

>forests are filled with beasts, horror, flesh eating plants, dryads and wandering merchants

Groceries.
>Ancient Paparazzi taking a storegraph of a god
>All the sun god wants is to pay for his groceries and be done with it
>Fucking cashier won't take his credit card already.

Bump

>Every few hundred years, the God with the smallest stamp collection gets expelled from the megadungeon to wander the sphere.

This is some trippy stuff.

Flesh and Metal eating goats wander the mountain megadungeon in herds.

>streets were used only to bring in things or maybe even used as toilets

D E S I G N A T E D

Fertile land that would support agriculture is precious and rare. The primary food source is various forms of aquaculture, and only a few civilizations have discovered agriculture as we know it.

I won't lie this trips me out

the world is in a book that wasnt ever written, because
>the "writer" put screens on every wall of the imperial capital with a direct, constant stream of his perception, but can also hear everyone there, which would normally be maddening except it was just the one god that controls the hivemind of NPC's that the world populated with at first.
>who got really good at playing a game with names and voices.

there's no darkies

Tsunami's sometimes result in torrential rains on the other side of the sphere.

Legend tells off the wroth of some God. A waterspout that connected the hemispheres

> 8.5/10 Thread

Can someone with more free time than me condense the thread down into an overall summary of this new world?

>But the crystals bestow the magic upon the creature. Since these creatures are way more dangerous the crystals are way more valuable.
