Nobody thinks much of Phyrexian Reclamation utill I play Sidisi or Gray Merchant 5 times the same turn.
Nathan Rivera
OP I just bought Mind's Dilation for Jori-en, how well has it been working for you/other anons?
Luke Jackson
Gisa and Geralf
Elijah Miller
Mind's Dilation is incredible value. Your opponent casts their first spell on their turn? You might get one of their cards. Someone else wants to counter their spell? You also might get one of their cards. It goes off all the time and has great interactions with other cards that do things when you cast, like Rashmi, because you're casting what you steal.
Honestly, if Mind's Dilation isn't countered or otherwise dealt with immediately, it can become a huge problem.
William Reed
Great to know, cheers!
My Jori deck specialises in ramping out very very fast, so finding big mana cards like this that can return a huge amount of value over time is always a welcome sight
Xavier Hughes
So I'm assuming the nonsense in the attached pic never came to pass.
Also, my favorite set would probably be the entirety of Shards of Alara.

>Thread Question Probably Time Spiral. Even though I started playing during Innistrad, the concept of a set that revisits old cards and characters and changes them up is pretty cool. If I could, I would make Time Spiral a standalone set a la Conspiracy, where it revisits old sets/planes and does a "what if..." version, with colorshifted, timeshifted, and futureshifted version of cards.
Charles Jackson
So am I an idiot for playing Jenara (Voltron) and Zedruu (Group Hug) or an enlightened genius?
Ryan Baker
It depends entirely on (you)
Nolan Taylor
So, Enchanted Evening and Ajani's Chosen normally result in a draw, but if you can capitalize either on etb triggers or a way to Sac for death triggers, you could win.
How would you go about doing this? Impact Tremors and going to Jeskai? Or Esper for Sac outlets and Blood Artist/cutthroat? Or some other third thing?
It's a cute combo, I want to see how it could work out
Noah Hughes
enlightment comes when you realize edh is a casual format and stop playing tryhard decks and go back to playing dumb shit and have fun with your friends instead of measuring dicks
Jose Perry
You're an enlightened idiot
Asher Fisher
I've been at the casual, lets just have fun with this stage for years (my tryhard only comes out in draft, sealed, or cube), unfortunately I can't say the same for everyone in our play group.
>let's spend hundreds of dollars on Modern Summer Bloom for kitchen table magic >it's banned in modern a week and a half later
My smug satisfaction of telling him that it was banned was almost as satisfying as locking down his legacy elf deck with the single copy of Gideon Jura in my garbage tier white weenie deck (he'd been losing all night and busted out elves just to show us).
Jordan Campbell
>What is your favorite set? Time Spiral and the rest of its block. Any other answer is objectively retarded.
Daniel Watson
You have weird japanese-style fetishes. You've always been sexually frustrated, something that shows through your pasty white skin and your skinny toothpick arms.
Colton Collins
>legacy elves losing to gideon Elves wins before you can even cast jura, is your friend retarded?
Julian Butler
Does nothing all game but board wipe and counter other people, tries to win with Mind Grind or some other X spell, gets super salty when he can't control something or his do nothing win condition doesn't work. Cool guy would play with. Hulk Smash, another cool guy. I can't tell if this is degenerate or just goofy, voltron player's auras become removal spells, would have to see the build. Interesting either way.
Hudson Morgan
Torment is my favourite, although future sight comes close.
John Collins
I went first and my weenie deck is packed full of first strikers (and vigilance) so he wasn't going to attack me (this is FFA multiplayer mind you) until his stuff was too big for that to matter. Gideon came out before that could happen and made it so everything he had must attack Gideon, he kept tapping his creatures for mana so that he wouldn't lose them to combat, also pic related is quite effective.
Eli Johnson
How do I make this card good?
Charles Nguyen
...
Elijah Miller
Every fog ever
Adrian Jones
I know he's new but he's fun as fuck
Chase James
Play it in pic related, Doubling Season, and all the proliferate you can. You'll be playing maximum degeneracy superfriends, but Gideon (and every other non-Red walker) will be amazing.
>ork boyz >vehicles to go fast >steal yo shit tech >based xenagod
This shit is wild and I love it. Keep making crazy theme decks, you unhinged sumbitch.

The "is this a jojo reference" meme is far more obnoxious than jojo memes themselves. I don't even like jojo
Anthony Richardson
What do you think Commander 2017 will be like? Bi colour or penta colour?
Jose Sanders
>Cool theme >Actually playable >Not the expensive: especially if you cut the dual lands
I approve. Keep building.
James Perez
I think Wizards would rather go with the relatively riskless allied-color decks then shoot for the starts with five-color insanity.
Nathan Morales
>4 black mana symbols, 14 black sources >12 green mana symbols, 14 green sources (this is fine) >48 red mana symbols, 14 red sources
Fix your mana base.
Camden Cruz
why does Wizards insist in making Boros commanders about huge creatures when that color combination is the best for small, cheap creatures and sucks at ramping? do they even play their own game?
Justin Perry
Oh, for sure- the mana base was literally just "Command Tower, all relevant shocks/duals/fetches, and then 9 of each basic" so I had 37 lands while I brewed the rest of the deck. I just hadn't gone through and tweaked the color balance yet.
Blake Ross
4 colour commander but each general also have the colorless mana symbol in the cost
Liam Long
I guess if you have the duals I can just shut up.
Adam Hall
No no, it's a good suggestion!
Joshua Harris
assuming your Medomai clone is hitting a player every turn to trigger his ability why even bother with Azorious Elocutors?
Nicholas Stewart
But what would the themes of five five color decks be? Tribal?
Austin Evans
is there anything noteworthy about the commander anthology if you don't care about kaalia?
Dylan Mitchell
...
Charles Lopez
DESU, not really. Heavenly Inferno is expensive because of scarcity rather than being that interesting, and you can probably find a Plunder the Graves on the shelf at a lot of stores still (and maybe a Guided by Nature, too). Really the price is dragged up by the Kaalia deck, the four life counters, and having the tokens for all the decks.
Henry Perry
Probably. Though I always thought it'd be interesting if they were built to be like mono-colored decks that are splashing in the other four colors.
Brandon Foster
The only part thing that's correct is that I'm really pale
Fuck no, don't buy that shit. It really should have just been the original 5 commander decks, not just four decks, some of which you can still get at MSRP.
For $165? Are you kidding?
Caleb Bennett
Fairly degenerate, but there's not much else that makes monoblack viable (I play Nekusar so I'm also quite guilty).
Retribution of the Ancients is some bullshit; but you found a way to make Unspeakable Symbol playable so there's that.
Angel Reed
I didn't know how much I loved mono R artifacts until I built it. There is so many silly things to do. Tower of fortunes is a lot better as R8,T: draw 8 cards, liquidmetal coating and voltaic key are MVPs.
Matthew Ortiz
Literally the only thing I can think that's "neat" is that it'll have the tokens for all those decks, and the 'special life counters'. I'm hoping that's 4 of the kind they had in the Commander Anthology, rather than four spindowns.
Cooper Gonzalez
Actually the deck only has like three boardwipes and two counters in it, I generally try to win by hitting people with their own creatures, min grind is there to give me more Lazav fuel/reanimate targets and only occasionally as a win con
Leo Reed
Anyone else remember the plastic life counters with the wheels that used to come in fat packs?
David Roberts

Christopher Richardson

Jack Rogers
You sound like a lot more fun than the guy in my play group.
>WHY AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO PLAYS (lots of) COUNTERS IN EDH!?!
Tell him that not letting people do things is contrary to the point of the format and he gets all pissy.
Owen Anderson
We are a particularly Timmy group, we tend to favour boardwipes over counters since it's fun to have etb triggers and stuff happen.
I really don't see the point of playing Lazav as a pure control list either when his ability is just too fun to build around
>tfw turn 4 Lazav into turn 5 traumatise, turning him into original Avacyn
Nathan Peterson
I love playing him while eating tendies and listening to my favorite band, avenged sevenfold. :^)
Lucas Lewis
Meant to reply to
Grayson Wright
Him + Hall of the Bandit Lord + Basilisk Collar + Gratuitous Violence is probably my favorite combo of all-time. Splatting everybody all at once is poetry in motion.
Evan Price
Jesus Christ user, sort your shit out
Either way you seem like the sort of guy that doesn't play this deck that often since people soon grow wise to how quickly he can end the game
Charles Jenkins
Well, it only splats everyone that's at an even life total. Odds live at 1 life.
Jose Turner
This doesn't work, legend rule kicks in at the beginning of your end step when the Sphinx comes back.
Evan Morris
So just add a Mirror Gallery, no sweat.
Parker Gomez
I actually have never considered that, but you're playing Red. You can easily find a way to ping them.
Caleb Sanchez
>Red-Green >Xenagod as commander Do it. Just do it.
Jonathan Moore
I have a RG deck with 6 legends in it, I randomise the commander each time
Currently considering replacing Ulric with one of the Borborygmoses because fuck Ulric
Julian Barnes
Considering that's my flagship Commander, I'm all for them crafting new beaters for my baby.
Nicholas Wilson
OG Borborygmos isn't all that great, but Enraged can be barrels of fun.
Oliver Ortiz
I have Angryborbo in my Ruric Thar deck and he's great at turning excess lands into removal
Levi Sanders
I might get them both to replace Ulric and Mena & Den, looking at gatherer now there aren't many good Gruul commanders that I don't already have
Justin Kelly
Selvala, explorer returned Child of Alara One of the invasion/planar dragons (changes about once a month)

Since I'm new to the format, how does the colorless mana symbol change the rules of deck building? Do i need to have it on my commander? Is it even possible to build a deck that way?
forgot to say> Am I still an asshole? I managed to cram demonic tutor in for something else.
Sebastian Baker
Having Demonic Tutor isn't a problem unless you use it to tutor for the same few cards every game.
Samuel Brown
This, it's not a color so nothing changes, the only thing that it does is let you determine generic mana from colorless, which mana rocks and lands that produce colorless mana already did, just now symbolized with , so equals old (3) that thran dynamo would produce. Obviously this only really means anything when it comes to creatures or abilities that demand colorless mana, like thought knot seer that has (3), so 3 can be paid with anything from wubrg or but the can only be paid with that you see on things like lanowar wastes.
Oliver Miller
Ok, thanks for the explanation.
Benjamin Scott
Well there's his problem, a tuned legacy deck only gives the fast wins in 1v1. They don't have the resiliency or power to control or combo out three other players.
