Okay, guys.
Post your best fucking Nids buffs.
Tyler Ross
Further proof that Blood Axes is best, boss!
Jacob Parker
Make Storm troopers not awful.
Kayden Thomas
What loyalist faction is the most redpilled to how shitty and corrupt the imperium is at the present moment?
Excluding guilliman of course, is it space puppies or maybe the grey knights?
Jordan Gray
Nids are removed as a player army and can be used in special 3 way scenerios where the army acts off of a D66 table to finally make them the npc army
GSCs can still be a player army because they aren't shit
Connor Parker
Probably the officio assasinorum.
Thomas Peterson
Apparently the answer is to just take a third extra points, but they still lost. Maybe half again?
Jacob Thomas
I use the Veeky Forums edition on 1d4chan among friends, and it's great fun for stompy Nidzilla lists.
Nathaniel Lewis
The Marines Malevolent or the Iron Hands.
Marines Malevolent by just rolling with it. The world sucks, so what? Marines Malevolent are just going to make it better… for themselves.
Iron Hands because the world sucks, everything sucks, you suck, you all suck, those guardsmen sucked so they killed them for sucking so hard, flesh sucks so they removed it with cyborg bits, you all suck.
Adrian Evans
Allow orks to take def dreads in squads of 3 like sm.
Give orks not shitty formations that allow for more infiltrating/outflank/ds with charging on the same turn they arrive.
Give orks army wide rule which allows reroll of all failed to hit rolls for one turn per game.
Noah Turner
I'm almost done with the Edge Lords omnibus, my first warhammer novel (s).
I was wondering if anyone could recommend what to read next considering I really enjoyed the Night Lords.
Adam Reyes
Rate my Ork buff.
>Roll two dice on your turn. The result determines how many ork models you should remove from the game. Orks always want to fight something and sometimes they just kill each other for fun.
Jack Morales
God, this is so boring. It doesn't help there's stuff from more than just a couple books to find.
So with cadia dead and the meme being that a new guard army will become the post boy what do you guys think of a cadian special squad, something like this
Veteran of cadia >vet statline >PE:chaos >till the last man: veterans of cadia do not take moral tests when their squad size is below 50%
Turn cadia from the vanilla guard to an anti chaos special unit
Jacob Reyes
Why just remove models when you could slow down the game more with random allocated hits with random strenght and random ap?
Dominic Perry
Hot-shot lasguns become Assault 2
Sergeants can take HS lasguns
Ten-man squads can take three special weapons
Base Ld increased to 8, 9 for Tempestors, 10 for Tempestor Prime (they're from the same schools as Sisters and Commissars...but Ld 7?)
Make Tempestor Prime roughly equivilent to a Lord Commissar
Unit gets Precision Shots like Skitarii Rangers
Or just take a (big) chunk out of their points cost. Plus their weapon upgrades are ludicrously expensive.
Gabriel Carter
This is probably accurate because rise of the primarch mentions how the custodes are so painfully woke they just ignore most of the Galaxy shattering things they hear
>it also has a slight implication they can understand binary, which is pretty cool unless it was an authors mistake
Alexander Ward
You could cut points by making deep strike a payable upgrade instead of including it in the base cost.
Andrew Reyes
Well, it's not Edge Lords, but if you'd like to see what it's like going Full Chaos, then check out Anthony Reynold's Word Bearers Omnibus. Wonderful read.
Anthony Jones
They're all over 10k years old so probably enough time to learn a language used on their planet.
Benjamin Cooper
Probably the SoS.
When various Imperials file past the Emperor on the Golden Throne in Master of Mankind, everyone sees different shit from a huge golden demi-god, a shining human figure of pure light or a glorious machine-god etc etc
Sisters just saw an ordinary looking man in immense pain due to their null aura.
Ethan Foster
I know, I have it open, but stuff from like Fall of Cadia (Celestine rules) and Imperial Agents are something I would have to dig around for.
Joseph Kelly
Storm of Iron is good. It's about Iron Warriors besieging an Imperial fortress, with equal screen time for both sides. Good back and forth combat.
ADB (the author you're currently reading) is usually pretty good, though his 30k novels are more polarizing.
A lot of people love the Gaunt's Ghosts books. They're about a light infantry/scouting Imperial Guard regiment. Personally I find the books to be hit and miss, but even I can admit that the better ones are worth reading the lesser ones to get to. Good action, characters, and plots. Usually.
I love the Ciaphas Cain series, though they do tend to follow roughly the same plot for each book. With that in mind, I wouldn't suggest binge reading the whole series. They're about as far away from the Night Lords books as you can get, however, since they're rather comedic and light-hearted. If you've ever seen Blackadder Season 4, it's a lot like that. But mixed with Flashman. It's funny, has good characters, an interesting narrative (that tends to get repeated), and is great light reading.
The William King Space Wolf novels are great if you're looking for a swashbuckling adventure.
The best Black Library novels I've read are actually from Warhammer Fantasy: The Ambassador and Ursun's Teeth. They're legitimately good novels, not just "good for warhammer."
Stay the fuck away from Jonathan Green, the author or Iron Hands. Worst published book I've ever read. Even CS Goto is better.
Adam Hall
You can't "learn" binary, it takes specialist implants or a translator device of some kind. My bet is that they have the latter in their armour, since they're meant to be able to protect from subterfuge as well as outright battle, and it's ceratinly fancy enough.
Blake Taylor
oh, sorry
Luis Russell
...or not, nevermind, FoC is there, as well as SoB codex.
Jordan Cox
Wouldn't surprise me, the Emperor would know it and since he needed to ally with the Martians, making sure his bodyguards know their supa-sekret language would make sense.
Asher Hughes
I meant more that they would've found the time to come up with a solution like you mentioned. Whether it's in their armor or a device they have with them or whatever. They've had a long ass time to get any new toys they might need if they didn't already have them
Caleb Flores
Path of the Dark Eldar is equally edgy in terms of the characters it follows, and pretty well done by Black Library standards.
Kevin Murphy
>You could cut points by making deep strike a payable upgrade
We have that option already, it's called Veterans.
Ethan Collins
Reminder that until Orks get a decent fluff update they're not getting any decent in game updates.
Nolan Reed
in the next lines he gets his shit together and crusades to terra to save the imperium.
Jordan Morgan
Like said you can't just learn it like a language, it's thousands of 1s and 0s a second if not more, they would have to have special translators or implants
Alexander Perry
What's fluffy for Blood Axes other than Kommandos?
Daniel Thompson
>Decent fluff >For an NPC race
Ryder Young
Gun lines.
Xavier Williams
Paint them purple because purple iz sneeky
Easton King
>they would have to have special translators or implants
And? They're the Custodes, if they need a DAoT translator implant to crack Martian codes, they get a DAoT translator implant.
Caleb Lee
If they released new models without the stupid gorilla posture, I'd build an army of Ork jungle fighters in an instant.
Jayden Scott
If you want to watch the Edge Lords get BTFO (and also kill a lot of loyalists) then the Rid Tithe book was alright, fairly short, and featured them as the main antagonists.
Brandon Richardson
Wait the Emperor is in constant pain around sisters? I figured he'd be too swoll psychically to even mind them, hell didn't malcador use his powers around a group of them seemingly effortlessly or was that imperial propaganda?
Kevin Brown
>not using the current metal ones
Nigger they're literally some of the best looking ork models ever released.
John Perry
can regular space wolves use the relics in the supplement champions of fenris?
Wyatt Gray
I think it means the sisters see him for what he really looks like because they are immun to his psychic aura (or something like that)
Joshua James
and that fucking burna boy
Jose Perez
A guy I met (and had a fun game with) at my local GW gave me is spare Voldus sprue.
I wasn't prepared
How should I thank him
Christian Lopez
Bumpin'
Carter Mitchell
No, he was in pain keeping the Imperial Webway sealed via the Golden Throne after Magnus fucked it up.
Levi Brooks
those are fiiiine
but they are so expensive.
Carson Hall
Based gimp ork
Alexander Parker
Stormboyz, they're organized, young, and rebellious Orks who're likely to grow up into Kommandos.
Dunno what else though, I don't play Orks.
Chase Gutierrez
Just give him a friendly blowjob next time you see him.
Noah Clark
>b-but Magnus dindu nuffin and he's gonna turn loyalist again because TTS is canon!!
Caleb Cox
>Metal >Monopose >In a horde army
Just no.
Robert Ramirez
They're finecast now.
Blake Ramirez
kek
Jack Perry
green stuff to conceal it a little?
Luis Scott
Sorry, I wrote that in a retarded way.
He wasn't in pain because of their null aura, their null aura allowed them to see him as he actually is, since they weren't effected by his psychic glamour.
He was in pain because the four gods of Chaos and their collective legions were trying to gain entry to the Imperial dungeons via the massive goatse reference Magnus had turned the Imperial webway project into with his """"warning""""".
Thomas Bailey
Well, there's always the Forgeworld conversion kit, but personally, I think they look fucking awful
Ian Walker
If you make it a champions of Fenris "detachment" then yes I'm not any where near the book rigjt now so I'm not sure if they have access to both sets though
Jaxson Collins
Are Orks and Nids shitty in general or are they catching up other factions in alternate game formats like kill team or small-point games?
Kevin Jenkins
Those look like shitty third party "space orc special forces"
Carson Smith
Still metal.
New Ork plastics and I'd play them immediately, regardless of how shitty their codex is.
I'd paint and convert the whole lot to be every 'Nam cliche I could think of.
But I refuse to deal with metals or fineshit anymore.
I just hope they don't turn Orks in the heavily-armoured shit Age of Sigmar currently has.
Nathan Cruz
I'm trying to build up an IF army, and want to reuse as many models as I can as I do so.
I made a progressive collection of army lists from 1000 to 1500 to 2000 here : m.imgur.com/a/H1at0
What do you guys think? In the 1000 list (pic related), I could swap out the devastators for a dreadnought but I'm not sure.
Gavin Lopez
they are doing kinda better in KT. And, boyz are less shit the less points the game is played at
Carson Davis
thats what im wondering. do i have to use that detachment?
i assume YES since orks cant grab stuff from the supplement in regular armies but thats orks.
Julian Rogers
So Big boss in his prime is put in a 10 ft circle with a catachan, both armed with a standard combat knife, who comes out on top?
Luis Lopez
Alternate formats and other GW games...they're fine. I know orks are like space marines in blood bowl and the hor kill team everybody uses has them fairly well balanced. Waiting to see what sw Armageddon does to them.
In 40k...over costing and underperforming in the current meta is the big problem right now so a lot of tables I play on just give them 10-25% more points to add to their lists.
Elijah Lewis
Sly Marbo
Austin Fisher
Nids aren't as shit as people say they are. Granted you have to cheese out a flying circus to make them work so they only have 1 viable list but they at least are playable.
Orks on the other hand are unplayable regardless of the format. Even going on extra dickery lenghts like abusing grots size to make them untargetable behind an ADL won't save you from a massive ass beating as an ork player.
Maybe 8th edition will change something about that if they touch how moral and close combat work but for now it's just a dead faction at this point.
Caleb Lee
God I remember painting those, they had an astounding amount off small and funny details hidden on them. For example the nob has a dent on his left metal boot, as well as a hole in the bottom of his gun holster, implying he shot himself in the foot because he forgot to put the safety on his slugga. The sculptor did a fantastic job.
Joseph Johnson
It's the retarded gorilla pose that ruins it for me.
My favourite depictions of Orks is from Deff Skwadron, where they're broad and their shoulders are hunched, but still stand upright without the stupid twerking pose.
Big ears are a plus for me too, gives their faces more character beyond GIANT TUSKS and reminds me of Gremlins, which fits their fluff well.
Basically I love the Snikrot model; and want the entire Ork range to look more like that.
My design document for a new Ork codex and model range would basically be Deff Skwadron + Kommandos.
Dominic Morales
>picture >big boss
Aaron Parker
>the safety >on his slugga. >implying
Jeremiah Sanders
is there a scan of deff skwadron out there?
i havent found one.
Chase Long
Snikrot has a compass on his choppa. Huh.
Connor Jones
I would love some new Ork Boyz. The Nob models are great so I know they can make them if they want to.
They just choose to spit in my face.
Nicholas Wood
>the nob has a dent on his left metal boot, as well as a hole in the bottom of his gun holster, implying he shot himself in the foot
Holy shit, I had to actually look at my model, to confirm this. This is fucking amazing.
And yeah, I agree the guy did a great job, it has to be one of my favourite models.
Parker Hughes
Did Guilliman really say that?
Robert Brooks
Everything about that model is done just right.
The Power Klaw, the pose, the stupid grot, the goggles...
Well, shit. My 3rd and 4th pick are Tau and Necrons so maybe I should stick with one of them. I'm not a WAACfag but making my first steps into hobby with factions nerfed this hard would be pretty disheartening I think
Colton Peterson
see
Ethan Diaz
Necrons are not broken compared to the current meta and they are underwhelming without the decurion so they wouldn't be too bad of an army
Tau gets a lot of hate but their standard gunline shenanigans is good but not OP, they just have a few builds that make them retardedly broken
Caleb Wright
Of course not, this is what he really said.
Isaac Kelly
If you really wanted to go for Tyranids, you could try genestealer cults.
Tyler Adams
I want to have some fun with running a small army in KT and 500pts games and maybe 1000pts some day but probably nothing bigger so I'm not even thinking about breaking the game I don't really like GSC aesthetic to be honest. The best part of Nids is their dino-alien-bug look
