How i can i know the being unhappy is punishable by death?

I already know you lied about not being a robot.

FRIEND COMPUTER NEVER LIES

TO BELIEVE THAT FRIEND COMPUTER IS A LIAR IS TREASON.

TREASON IS PUNISHABLE BY DEATH.

I have suicidal depression so this setup is pretty much a win-win

At first, I thought this was an awesome RPG, and I actually started to write a Roguelike set in the Alpha Complex.
But then I realised why so few people play it: you're basically REQUIRED to act like a piece of shit.
Of course, there are some people who like that. It's only that I don't.

yeah, but that makes great intrigue also

I'm not a mutant

Well, yeah - that's why I wanted to code it.
However, intrigue is the ONLY thing it does well - i.e. it's (basically) a one-trick-pony.
For that, I'm better off playing CK2 "Now with even more incest" edition.

...

>CK2
I haven't heard of this one. what is it?

What happened to you Friend Computer?

TO DOUBT THE PRESENCE OF FRIEND COMPUTER IS TREASON

TREASON IS PUNISHABLE BY DEATH

This is obviously some sort of malfunction. Don't worry men, I have Gamma clearance. Stand back.

Neato, this looks worth checking out. I had assumed you were refering to a tabletop game.

THERE IS NO GAMMA CLEARANCE

YOU ARE A TRAITOR

BEING A TRAITOR IS TREASON

TREASON IS PUNISHABLE BY DEATH

I actually meant in an ironic sort of way ... but, hey - whatever floats your boat.

C'mon man, it's me, Clem. Just let me run the calibration software.

FAILING FRIEND COMPUTER IS SOMETHING COMMIES AND MUTANTS DO

COMMIES AND MUTANTS ARE TRAITORS

BEING A TRAITOR IS TREASON

TREASON IS PUNISHABLE BY DEATH

Excuse me, Burnd-4, but as Communications & Recording Officer, I believe it's my responsibility to record the execution.

>run a game of Paranoia
>set up a PC with Microsoft Sam speech to text and a second monitor with a Friend Computer eyeball
>have a few prepared scripts/plothooks typed out in advance
>also had an elevator Muzak version of The Girl from Ipanema
>told the players that some rooms have cameras/speakers and interface comms to talk to Friend Computer or for him to spy on them
>any time they try to call him or he's about to broadcast them a message, play the Girl from Ipanema
>by the end of the game, they visibly quake or wince when they hear the theme

Good times.

Also, at the end of the game, I have a "Mission Debriefing Round" which is basically Jeopardy, where FC asks them questions like "This party member is most likely to be a mutant communist"

My favorite moment was when one of my players was on his last life and the party were all trying to backstab each other in the final debriefing. He's not the brightest guy and was unfamiliar with loanwords that we've stolen in English, and he said "Come on guys, let's stop the fighting. We're all COMRADES here!"

The whole party flipped their shit and FC disintegrated him on the spot. I was in tears.

TOP KEK user-1-TG

Do you know of any site with AAR's (or suchlike) of Paranoia games?

Nice call on the elevator music I may do something similar for my next campaign.

I have a pdf but its to big to upload here at 45mbs. Just Google a bit and you'll find it.

>Just Google a bit and you'll find it.

I have Googled already, but failed to find much.
(especially not the 45mb pdf - unless you're referring to the rules, which I already have)

Could you post a link - or even a hint?
Thanks in advance.

Probably gonna use this

sorry I'm a bit new what do you mean by AAR's?

actually this might be a more ironic option.

AAR = After-Action Report.
Sorta like a description of what went on in a game.
It's used for just about everything - from RPG's to Wargames.
Basically a tabletop version of a Let's Play.

I haven't seen one of those, my best suggestion would be to dig around in the archives of some paranoia forum that might has a few threads like that.

Waiting for the damn sets to ship.

>spoiler

That's kind of the point.

It's not a serious game for long-term settings - most people use it for one-shots to blow off steam. The players get to run wild and let out all their murderhobo tendencies, the G̶M̶ *ahem* The Computer gets to execute players for being boring and counterproductive. It only really works when everyone knows this going in and is OK with it.

Some of my group's best moments have been in paranoia one-shots, that said I could absolutely see it getting old if it was used too often/for a longterm game.

Fuck, forgot to quote
