im doing a gurps game where I'm a mad scientist, I've offered to help make the cowboy some cool stuff but the player is pretty shit, he can't even come up with a single idea.
I've offered him jetstream sam's sword, a sword that lights on fire, and a sheathe with a gun built into it. thats all I've got so far? can you guys think of anything?

When it's too heavy for the guy to move it himself, probably. Or when it's too heavy to hitch to his horse and use as field artillery.
How about armor for the horse, but made of guns?
Why build him anything when you could build a steam-engine mech? Just a fucking tank-engine with arms and legs.
Alternatively, if you really need to make something for him, have you thought of making something involving lassos?
