Jumpers!
Architects among us, tell me your building styles!
For everyone; describe your favored architectural themes!

To avoid the plot pitfalls of Reapers, the Starchild, and macguffin powered primary color endings.

Gothic Revival.

From cathedrals to manor houses to country homes, I have a soft spot for that semi-creepy elegant looking building. The sort of house you are equally likely to find inhabited by a rich snob, an old crone, a charismatic witch or a host of ghosts.

My favorite thing is the self aware building style. As in building them to adapt to the needs they face such as growing when it needs more room, altering window properties to better catch the light, expanding to squat on adjacent properties when a shitty fast food place is planned, or throwing everyone out into a central slide while REEEEEEEEEEEing when set on fire as it puts itself out. Aesthetically probably Roman flavor.

Besides Fallout or 40k, what are the best jumps to pickup man-portable directed-energy weapons in? I'm talking Laser, Plasma, Rail/Gauss, Pulse/Sonic, and others that operate on even more esoteric principles.

Solarpunk. I even get bonuses from it, given my plant theme.

Jumpers, what are the iconic elements of your outfit?

In fantasy settings: Mostly Georgian, sometimes Victorian or fantasy Gothic when going for a theme.

In modern or future settings I usually make urban shophouses.

Doom 2016. It even teaches you how to turn weapons into direct-energy variants.

Metal/Art Deco.

A green-grey field jacket with three eight pointed stars embroidered on the back and sleeve.

Post-jump, does external magic that normally only works in certain places (like on a certain planet or in a certain dimension) function as if the magic is everywhere?

Only if you bought it/something from the same "system".

Had to go look up what they were called, but I really do enjoy things in the Queen Anne, American Queen Anne or Victorian styles. Beautiful, inventive craftsmanship, archicture and designs both confusing and something you can appreciate. I'm nowhere close to realizing a vision of it, but to have an entire sprawling city of this stuff, all built out, built up, secret passages everywhere, towers and hallways and rooms located in the oddest places would just be lovely.

Basically if I could have a city that was just one giant, functional, Winchest Mystery House that all the residents knew like the back of their hand and casually took shortcuts around to save time or whatever like it was just part of their day. It's be a confusing mess of a whimsical, creepy wonderland for visitors.

Flowers. Flowers everywhere.
Depends if you have a perk for using it or not.

I like the way you think.

The ship pictured here is actually an imperial corvette comparable to the CR90.
starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Raider-class_corvette

I was thinking that would be a good fit even though it was just made for a board game.

The phasers from Star Trek are extremely versatile and powerful.

I don't really have any, I don't think. I seem to end up in different clothes each Jump. In Pokemon where I was fully, mentally lambasted with an even more skittish child me I dressed up in a sombrero, poncho and some other stuff like a total dork and actually thought it looked cool.Had a cool futuristic helmet I made that went with it though which I still use. In Kenichi I took after Shigure and just started dressing like a skimpy ninja. Clothes kept getting shredded anyways, might as well Didn't even wear clothes in PMD or Monsters Inc. Dressed for the period in Austin Powers, a student in Soul Eater, and the eldritch suit and tech helmet for Creepypasta.

I really need to figure out some kind of outfit.

You too dude.

I'm no architect, but I've always favored stone and brick for buildings. There's something about the aesthetic of cool, solid stone that appeals to me. Wood is great for accents and interiors though.

But then, I've never had to build anything on a large scale. I imagine my views on the matter would change if I did.

Outlaw Star has Casters, which is magical magic pistols. Wildly impractical but insanely powerful with the right kind of ammunition. Then there's also GUNNM, which despite firearms being banned on the surface has a number of planets armed to the teeth with all kinds of weaponry. And, of course, Star Wars and Star Trek for the classic laser weaponry.

Mega Man also comes to mind. All kinds of possibilities there. Admittedly most of the weapons tend to be build onto the robots, but I'm pretty sure building a trigger onto a copy of Mega Man's Arm Cannon won't be too hard.

Then, of course, there's the big guys. Marvel and DC are just chock full of energy weapons of all makes and models.

And while they're technically not weapons, the Bioshock series deserves an honorable mention for admirably filling in the "man-portable" portion of your question. Plasmids are a GREAT fall-back weapon if you don't mind a little genetic engineering along with your weapon science.

My only iconic outfit is my Kamen Rider Passion Belt, which I don't think fits the purpose of your question. I usually dress to blend in to the world around me.

Stone, or failing that, concrete and brick, are the best building materials.

Glass curtain walls can go fuck themselves.

That's what I meant. Say something like the Gamer or Dresden Files where it would normally only work on earth or a planet, but you bought the system. Would it work in space?

I'm still holding out for the date hen you make a jump where I can buy a Star Destroyer.

The Red Cloak from Lords of Light.

A gentleman never goes anywhere without his sword. And also boots, but mainly the sword.

I'm with you on that. I mean, I get it from a practicality point of view. Steel and glass skyscrapers are the cheapest way to build upwards in a limited amount of landscape. And I've even seen some really nice looking ones. But for the most part they're ugly and kind of depressing to be surrounded with.

Stone and wood just have this... comfy feel it to that most modern structures lack.

Legacy of the Aldenata. There are man-portable (though not man-shootable, unless you're wearing power armor they need to be deployed on a tripod first) terawatt lasers. Just don't keep the trigger held down too long, or else there's a tiny risk of them exploding in thermonuclear fireballs as the antimatter power cell loses containment. I'm sure you can fix that glitch, though.

Gothic with modern themes

My Afro-American compatriot

Somekind of body/undersuit is always a must. Wheather its a cloaking, diving, space, or 'other' suit it also comes with a matching collapsible helmet to help me get whatever jobs I have to do that day done.

My armor is engraved with stories of my adventures.

I didn't know cats could type.

Does it menace with spikes of armor?

>I was thinking that would be a good fit even though it was just made for a board game.

That would be perfect for The Imperial

Huh, thats pretty cool.

And that Winchester Mystery House is some cool stuff and seems like something that would belong to the Addams family or something.

What jump is this for? I would assume OT but I recall you mentioning a starship command jump at one point.

I'm boring and I go with Art Nouveau

Yes.

Monolithic, mostly. Buildings carved from living stone.

Otherwise, Gothic styles are nice.

Halo, I guess? Covenant weaponry's pretty nice, though MAC cannons are a bit too big to be portable.

Lord of Light has the Wand of Universal Fire.

Stargate's got the staff weapons and other stuff.

Shadowrun's got some gauss and laser rifles, but they're not really great.

Pretty sure Ben10 has a whole bunch of energy weapons too.

Sburb has a gun known as Ahab's Crosshairs. It's got pretty big energy blasts, see pic related.

And I have a personal weakness for magitech essence cannons and lightning ballistae from Exalted, but they're probably not that great in the grand scheme of things. Pistol version of the essence cannon packs about the same punch as a mundane rocket launcher, and it scales up from there.

I tend to just keep switching it up. Though robes/cloaks are pretty much standard, sometimes replaced by labcoats when I'm being more science-y.

But the thing that really stays constant is my pointy witch hat. Well, it's most often a pointy witch hat. It's got a /few/ upgrades and can now switch between pointy hat form, false horns attached to my head, and a halo of searing light tinged with green fire.

Depends on how subtle I feel like being.

Original Trilogy. I'm thinking about including the option the buy a corvette in place the freighter hulls, but I not sure how customizable it should be.

Mm~! The best part is the widow that had it built that was made it as an anti-ghost trap, but only served to make it creepier and end up having rumors of haunting the house herself. I'd like to have a similar spiritual element to this place, just kinder and warmer.

The colorful suit.

Holy shit I can really fumble over my words sometimes. I'm saying the the widow that had it built, had it built that way because she was scared of ghosts and wanted to confuse them with the architecture. In the end, she just made the house creepier and her obsession lead to rumors of her haunting the place after her eventual death.

Any info about Kaleid Ilya jump ?

Yeah, Madame Winchester was worried that the ghosts of everyone killed by a Winchester rifle would haunt her, even though it was her husband's fault. Her dead husband. Wouldn't the ghosts just grab him, since he's on the ethereal plane already, and ignore her? Oh, Madame Winchester, you so crazy.

My building style? I'm kinda all over the place. Some gothic stuff here, some modern stuff there, some cyberpunk style stuff over yonder, etc.

>Best Shirou

I just like making Megastructures.

There was a WIP posted a long time ago.

Well perks all done and could use some feedback
Tron Jump

Wait, how the fuck did the last sentence of my first reply end up below my second reply?

That's what you get, you cookie-teasing fuck.

In the FF12 jumps, is the galbana airship an option?

The letter of the day is C. C, for Cookie, denied to Cookie Monster. C also stands for Cunt, which you are.

That would be a tough choice.

That's fair.
But I did make cookies whenever they asked after that event.

Who is the real monster, him...or YOU!?!

disregard what i said im dumb

To explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, and to whinge at them for not obeying Council law despite being literally in a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT GALAXY.

>for not obeying Council law
>COMPLETELY DIFFERENT GALAXY
wat

You know what REALLY annoys me about this, from a meta-standpoint?
I can get behind a game about exploration, and whingeing at people for not obeying Citadel Law(god knows the Turians punished us for it, even though we weren't a Citadel species). But canonically less than 1% of the Milky Way is explored.

You'll never get an answer. Not to mention our version of the jump on the drive is outdated now anyways. Just go with standard grandfather clause rules and wank it.

So, it's been a while since I've seen this question. What settings do we not have that you really want jumps for?

Konosuba
Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
Hitman
also I'd like to see the generic crime drama wip finished

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

We got fucking Street Sharks, we got multiple settings for the same fucking drek of DC and Marvel, but nobody has stood up for the turtle.

I would but unfortunately my writing ability is worse than Bancho / Tera's when it comes to descriptive text and I can't balance worth shit.

Destroy All Humans
Planescape Torment
Dawn of War(specifically, not just a 40k jump)
More Divinity games than just Dragon Commander
Konosuba
Emperor's Text to Speech Device

"All Of An Instant", a novel by Richard Garfinkle that does an interesting take on the concept of time travel. It would be near impossible to make a jump for (for one thing, how do you spend ten years in the setting when the setting is one that doesn't have linear time?) but it's still full of really cool things.

>Gintama
>Hellboy
>Pluto (Probably will end up doing it myself during the spring break)
>Gash Bell

Log Horzion, Lupin the Third, Metal Max/Saga are on my wishlist.

The latest LN for Log Horzion just arrived in the mail this morning. I've been brainstorming the basics for a jump these past couple days.

Body Mod: Medium Charmer, Evercleansed, Metavore, Gender Swap, Sense 3 (20/5 vision, etc)
Warehouse: All utilities except gravitylink; shelving, housing, workshop, free space, loft
Jump 1Harry Potter!
200 Wealthy Pure-blood, Ravenclaw
Different branch of the Lovegoods, most closely related to the Malfoys and Trelawneys, though not terribly friendly with either.
Get along great with Xenophilius and Luna, though.
100 Brave at Heart, With beyond Measure
100 Dedicated
Cleanblooded
300 Occlumency, Legilimency, Memory Spell Specialist
100 Parselmouth
250 Wandless magic
Items
Wand(bamboo and phoenix feather)
Pet Owl
Nimbus 2000
Dragonhide Jacket
100 Extended Mokeskin pouch
250 House Elf (Sarah), Phoenix (Heather)
150 Goblin Made Sword
50 Comet 260, Deluminator

+600 Werewolf, Prisoner of Azkaban

Ten years don;t have to be in-Jump time, it could be a relative time limit tracked on a meta level. If you repeat the same minute sixty times, it'd still be an hour, basically.

Crysis
Improbable Island
Mortal Instruments
Mortal Engines
Leviathan Series
Uglies
Skinjacker Trilogy
His Dark Materials
The Time Quintet
Interworld
Eureka
Warehouse 13

I had a fun time growing up (Lana, yes it was intentional on their part) Lovegood. Except for the bit where a werewolf bit me. That wasn't fun.
We can afford the wolfsbane potion, though, so it's more an inconvenience than a life-shattering problem. I have a nice meadow in my trunk I can
run around in, in case of accidents, that needs a summoning charm to open from the inside. I spend a good bit of first year having Sarah, my house
elf, grab things from the room of lost things, repair them, and stick them in my warehouse or a landfill. By Halloween, the only things left in there
are cursed items, like the diadem.

My other initial projects have indifferent results. a bath of oil mixed with phoenix ashes is mostly gone when I come back, and later the sword does awful
well against dementors and inferi... taking a few shrunken cows down to the chamber of secrets leaves the monster happily eating when I take out a rooster
and charm it to crow (and gather the venom to sell, after the sword absorbs some). Which does leave the diadem horcrux in pieces shortly after...

I actually send Dumbledore an anonymous note about a fake prophecy, identifying '7 seeds of darkness'... I hire an American muggle to write it for me, as a 'movie prop'.
Heather and Sarah's transport abilities are quite useful for that.

Still, it's all good, and on Halloween, I wait near the grand hall, and hit Quirrel with a disillusioned sewing needle with a drop of basilisk venom. When he pretends to collapse in the Dining Hall,
he never gets up... and dozens of students see Voldemort's wraith rise from the corpse. Not that they can actually identify it as such.

Earth Final Conflict
Raymond E Fiest's Midkimina series

Jin-Roh Space Dandy

Most of my time is less adventurous. Letters to and from cousin Luna, annoying cousin Draco, the occasional article for the Quibbler. A lot of studying, stocking a trunk-library with mail-ordered magical books, and a good chunk of the muggle selection. I ended up buying more than a dozen wizarding tents and as many expanded trunks, just to store stuff I took from the Room, while Sarah (in disguise) sold off the antique furniture and non-magical jewelry. I have Sarah steal Riddle's notebook when Malfoy tries to get rid of it, and Lockhart has an uneventful year teaching...with rather disillusioned students. Some of whom write to the Auror Office about him.

Long story short, I kill the diary, the diadem, and the ring, Dumbledore gets the Cup, Locket, and Snake, and exorcists get the Scar, ending around third year. I keep the ring, and the diadem pieces. I kill Bellatrix when she comes after me, a nick was all it took.
Sirius Black was exonerated. Granger makes Head Girl with record Newt Scores, and only those in the know ever find out Voldemort came back.

Also, I bought Grimmauld place from Black, decursed the books, and added the library to my own.

meant for I don't know why my links disappeared

Is the manga any good?

One of the main selling points of the anime was is crazy-ass animation under different directors.

an Illuminatus jump would be cool.

That's the thing, there's no personal relative time, either. Time travel in All Of An Instant is weird, and hard to describe.

>Leviathan series by Scott Westerfeld

Wait really? The initiative is still following Council laws despite it being 600 years later and in a different galaxy? Also aren't they a privately funded group?

>Is the manga any good?

I never got that far into the manga but that was due to me being to lazy to read it but as far as I can tell the manga takes place before, after and in between episodes so it's different than the show but still good to me at least

How?

Did that guy ever mention who he based his waifus on yesterday? I was genuinely curious.

Looking for feedback on a Jumpdoc.
Anyone interested in some generic Looney-tunes/cartoon-ish world?

I can see them not having a QEC link if this was a purely human project. You've got no guarantee that the society that the Initiative came from would even exist by the time they got to Andromeda. But given the lifespan of Asari, then it comes across as silly. Projects that take six hundred years before they pay off are probably something they know how to handle by now.

Midnighters. I read that a long time ago and can remember pretty much nothing about it, but I think it was pretty fun. And the whole "secret hour at midnight" thing would be pretty interesting.
