Repostan, how would this be for an allied unit?

>Nyess
>Give tanks wounds
>Make tanks monstrous creatures
>While retaining AV
>Monstrous creatures should have been an Imperial theme all along

This is now a Slaanesh thread.

Reminder that 'vehicles will get wounds in 8th' is an unfounded rumor based on laughably unreliable sources.

Do any of the original legions have explicit communist themes?

Death Guard official release date when???

I hate waiting. REEEEEEEEEEEEE

THINGS WILL GET LOUD NOW

Monkeys are a fucking meme.

Can still hope

Are you kidding me? Every buff they provide is amazing, there is no way you are rolling snake eyes with two so why the fuck not? Also, they can be either a Lascannon, multi melta or heavy flamer. For 35 points its a steal. Shame about BS3 though.

I know you would think they would release more information by now.

I just got all my paint and first 2 units in and had a question for the base coat.

If you were painting a regular tactical normie marine in Salamanders colors could I use Caliban Green as my base coat instead of Abbaddon Black?
will this make my greens look any better? or will it make the golds for details too hard to paint?
this is first time painting a model so most everything I'm going on is just from youtube shit

Prime the models, if you want a darker green use black primer, white if you want lighter.

I'm betting you're misunderstanding how basecoats work.

For example, your green Salamander marine.
>prime it
>basecoat your main color
>give it a wash, preferably a green one like coelia greenshade, maybe a brown one if you want a darker/dirtier looking armor
>pick out details and highlight your main armor plates

Highlighting you can either do GW style edge highlighting or just highlight where the armor would naturally reflect light and/or shine.

Squad with HB-servitors, acolytes with storm bolters and 2 monkees will slap alot of shit at a discount price

my mistake, I meant to prime it in the dark green, not basecoat. I'll take your advice and just prime it in black (most of the guides I've seen are prime in black as well)

Without being that guy, is a balanced and fair Reaver loadout the Gatling Blaster, Apocalypse Missile Launcher, and the Laser Blaster?

I'm tempted to run two Laser Blasters but it seems douchey.

If you find the right shade of green primer and you have a fuckload of dudes it's not a bad idea.

It doesn't look as good as a traditional prime+basecoat, but it's a good way to paint a ton of dudes.

Starting my first army, CSM, and just got my Desolator box and termie lord. Trying to figure out what weapons to give them though, any tips?

Not played a game of 40k yet or properly read the rules so not entirely sure on what weapons are good for their cost and whether or not I should build a sorcerer (I already have a Chaos Lord from the DV box)

Vectorized some Chaos Lord art and recoloured it for my legion, I think the colour scheme looks pretty good.

>CSM
>what weapons are good for their cost
None of them.

The owl lords are a hoot.

You are bringing a Reaver, other considerations are moot.

What's their band name again?

ayyyy

Shut the fuck up

You can have 1 special weapon per 5 man units of CSM or 1 special/1 heavy or 2 special for 10 man units.

Generally you don't want heavy weapons on regular CSM with how rules for heavy weapons work (can't accurately move and shoot). It's probably best to use either plasma guns or melta guns.

Sorcerers are really nice, you can pull some neat tricks with them.

You should check the MEGA archives in the OP for the rules. You'll need the main rulebook, the CSM codex, and you'll probably want the Traitor Legions supplement.

>tfw no earth caste waifu

GREATER GOOD
CONSUME ME

>Shut the fuck up
Don't act like CSM are just an inferior version of the Emperor's Finest.

Do the Night Lords have a theme song??

2 thick 2 furious

Adam West Batman intro

it's the best anime opening of all time

So the emperor's finest don't have weapons that are worth it either then according to you, since they share the same weapons.

Don't feed garbage people.

If this is the cunt I think it is, do not encourage it

>Grav

Grav, Thunder Hammers and Stormshields, a bunch of HH-era shit that the loyalists 10K years removed have access to but not the guys who fought the war they were issued in yesterday.

So plasma and melta aren't worth it somehow?

The only reason they have so much shit is because of blatant favoritism; it makes 0 sense for the guys that left with heresy stuff to not have it.

Don't give me that "shit at maintenance" stuff, they've got reaper autocannons, infernal relics and contemptors.

CSM have the oldest codex right now, it may not be as bad as orks or tyranids, but GW really fucked the dog on this one.

Helbrutes can take thunder hammers.

Why are you back now after all this time? It has been peaceful here

Speaking of this, quick question: Wouldn't a model with no armor save be completely immune to grav weapons?

This rumor may come true if AoS Squats' transports are well received. Just sayin'

Nah, the Grav rules specifically say that models with no save are wounded on a 6.

Bitches for the bitch throne!

It's like throwing shit at rats, they'll just gobble it up and come back for more now they've identified a food source.

8th comes soon so I wouldn't worry about being very efficient with them.

In broad terms it's better to specialize a squad than it is to have generalists. Eg; a heavy bolter and a melta do not really go together because they are opposites as far as roles are concerned.

There are exceptions (if you know you're going to get swamped with low save bodies you could get a flamer/combi flamer to make them eat the overwatch) but in general you'll want to keep like with like.

Brick n the Bone 'eads

When is the Death guard dex/supplement expected to arrive? Was it just a rumor?

...

Reposting one more time.

Have you guys had any fun games lately? Or have you been working on anything?

I'm still working on my army and learning the ropes. I've played 6 games so far and each time it was against a different army so I've been having a lot of fun learning what each army can do. I only remembered to take pictures as the start of the game, but I played 1850 against blue Orks yesterday.

Over all I lost 6 to 5, but it was a close game that we had to call on turn 4 due to him having to go. I think I would have won if we kept going because I was doing some serious damage all game and he only had a few units left, but my biggest mistake was forgetting about Linebreaker. I could have gotten a point and denied him a point as well had I remembered. The 30 man penal legion Conscript blob spent all game fighting a 10 man boy squad. Lots of whiffing on both of our parts and the Priest tanking 4++ re-rolls while simultaneously not hurting the Nob at all. That also cost me a point, but it was a fun combat.

Highlight of the game was my Demo Vets having a massive series of failures. First, I failed to cast Prescience on them, second I failed the ignore cover order, then I rolled all 2's for the Melta Guns and the Demo Charge scattered way off at 7 inches.

It was officially announced, not a rumour.
Release is probably in a few weeks by the timing.
May even go on preorder this coming weekend, but i wouldn't count on it.

Never play Simon says with the night haunter. It never ends well.

To be fair reapers are very reliable and easy to upkeep compared to an asscannon that has to have the entire barrel assembly replaced after each use.

Infernal relics kind of take care of themselves and the contemptors are probably the same guy from the HH stuck in there.

But I whole heartedly agree that chaos needs some cool toys.

Is there actually a difference? I airbrush mine with a solid basecoat without primer. That said it's silver so colour balance is less of an issue.

Why can't I imagine them talking like anything but Orks?

>Chimera is Max dakka Hbolter/Hbolter/Hstubber loadout
Yesssss gooooood. All the S5!

This is bait.

This isn't Linkin Park and so you have failed.

So is nobody mad about the OP image today? A week ago it was ridiculous lel

What happened to the Black Library link?

Why would we be mad about it? Crusader marines and SoB is an association Gw themselves make,

You get used to seeing trash after a while I suppose

No point.

It's impossible to avoid politics after what Drumfp did.

Under 1k Castellan with drop Scions and Dreads/Russ backbone. Y/N?

The heirophant loses this match up, doesn't it?

What is the point of bio-titans, again???

I want to play as a irken. From invader zim. Could i use taus to do that? Or maybe space marines ?
What list should be good?

Tau and Tyranid army might work. It wouldn't be all that good but if you're just doing Casuals it shouldn't be too bad

What do YOU feel like Irkin warfare is exactly?

The heirophant most likely wins, it has the advantage both at range and in CC.

I'm leading towards Eldar for some reason. Irken tech seems to be pretty specialized in nature, highly mobile and generally rather fragile.

>build a Megadoomer to proxy a Wraithknight
>whenever you cast Invisibility on it replace the model with an Irken on a flying base with an extension lead

>goes second
>only has a 6++
>has to survive multiple D hits

Sssssuuuuuurrrrreeee

>Be Jan Serveski
>Glorious bodyguard for platoon commander for melta for the glorious valhallan ice warrior, armed with glorious melta gun
>friend Boris Filipishizc is also has melta gun
>fighting rebellious guards
>we are attacked by 2 chimeras, one has veterans inside
>our vehicle approaches the choke point
>we fire our weapons at a chimera and managed to glance
>next turn the 2 enemy chimeras fire everyone they got at once, blowing our gun off and glancing us again
>despite the beating, we press on and we managed to get close enough to use our meltas, and we wrecked one of the chimeras
>the enemy chimera then uses their melta on us, 2 penetating hits, but somehow fails to blow us up. We emerged from the wreckage untouched.
>Boris has an idea
>tells us to charge the tank
>we charged towards the tank with our meltas to be heroes
>heroically, on top a crate, we fire both our melta guns, only a few feet away
>2 misses
>chimera tank processed to barbaque and send us to the emperor
>Boris killed us
>Fuck Boris

People were only mad about it because of /pol/lacks making new threads on page 4 with the same cancerous shitpost OP and dragging every thread down with their bullshit "discussions".

It strikes at I6 with 8 S10 AP2 attacks. Plus it shits out 12 S10 shots a turn in the shooting phase.

A knight can kill it, but probably won't.

The cost scales of those units are so dramatically different that it's hard to call it a "match up". The Hierophant costs 1000 points.

At range the Heirophant could plausibly shoot the knight to death without that much trouble. In close combat the Heirophant has 8 attacks at I5, so it can do pretty serious damage to it there too.

However it has no way to survive multiple strength D hits, so if it gets hit back it dies.

Basically Heirophants would be pretty okay if D weapons didn't exist and they cost 300 less points, or if they had proper invulns and their own strength D close combat weapons.

The fact that the Hive Fleet can shit out 10 Heirophants for half the resources by the time the Imperium has finished the years of rituals needed to sanctify the Knight Titan.

It also can survive the dreaded roll of a 6 on the d chart

>However it has no way to survive multiple strength D hits, so if it gets hit back it dies
It has 10 wounds which let it soak the 1 or 2 SD hits it'll probably take in this fight easily enough, they usually only do 2 wounds each on average.

Here is hoping 8th does away with strength D weapons and replaces them with something like d6 damage, or forgive me for saying it, d3 mortal wounds.

Ive seen this match up, the bio titan wins in one round of combat 2/3 of the time. The other 1/3, it won in the second round.

How the fuck are blast gonna work.
I'm worried about hitting now, like take battle cannon, the main thing about it is that'd it almost always hit even with scatter Cuz it's a large blasts. What would that translate to for a static hit roll? The army wide bs? Cuz 4+ to hit with a 1 shot weapon sucks ass
Maybe it'll make the vanquisher good again

One round of shooting from its biocannons only does 2 hull points on averagr

>replaces them with something like d6 damage, or forgive me for saying it, d3 mortal wounds.
For the most part it is that already, 2-5 on the "wound" roll is D3 wounds. Its just the 6+D6 wounds for a 6 that needs toning down, either just straight up 3 wounds or only D6 would be fine i reckon.

most likely it will be a single roll to hit, then D3 for small blast, and D6 for large

Finally. My 1000pt Warband is assembled and actually WYSIWYG because fucking magnets. The only thing missing are rhinos, which are in the mail. However, I have stand in rhinos I can use in the meanwhile. If weather permits, I can prime and start painting a squad next week.

You guys reach a goal recently? Working towards one?

Probably something akin to roll to hit. If it hits it does 2d6 hits to the unit. I'm just guessing, and this should in no way be considered an educated guess I'm just pulling wild ass guesses here.

Killing a knight in 3 turns is acceptable.
The heirophant is a fast as the knight so can potentially just kite it.

In practice the way to go would be to wait as it comes to you shooting it in the first turn, then in the second turn move forward shoot and charge and you'll reliably kill the knight before it even gets to swing.

>baits you closer with the knight
>rapes your heirophant with grav

GG bugs Imperium always wins!
