Flamers work exactly as expected, bolters and lascannons work exactly as they ought to.

Nothing particularly noteworthy here, except the confirmation that rapid fire/assault/heavy is still around in some form.

Yeah. I'd want to try them out in play, th out in my personal experience I average 3-4 hits with flamers anyway, so it might not be a big deal.

I'm more glad that they picked AP values that don't invalidate armor entirely. I mean, now anything with a 2+ save gets a 5+ against plasma natively without even needing an invuln.

I could only see it happening against a small base unit that was clumped in base to base.

That said, that's the entire point of this change, to make it so flamers are roughly as effective whether your opponent takes 5 minutes carefully spacing his guardsmen or if he's a noon you just moves them as a single blob.

There's also the benefit that those d6 hits more heavily affect small squads.

I'm pretty sure even Nid playing retards can space their models correctly.

D6 isn't really enough to justify squads who can take a flamer, as opposed to taking a different special weapon instead. Only dedicated flamer squads will be worthwhile, I think.

If we were really being serious I'd add vorefags, vomitfags, scatfags, pissfags, and actual fags along with guro and the rest of that list.

D6 instead of templates means you don't have to spend ten minutes assuring exact 2" spacing between models to prevent dying like a retard
