Your party has been tasked with saving a kingdom from its tyrannical ruler who also happens to be a powerful necromancer.
As you spend month working on bringing him down you find out that all these years he's been using the living dead to keep a demonic invasion at bay.
What do you do?
Spooky skellingtons
Let God sort them out
Step 1: Interrogate and maybe kill whoever wanted us to get rid of this guy. Maybe kill all associated with him.
Step 2: Rally whoever we can, maybe bring proof in the form of a demon corpse.
Step 3: Join the fight until the gateway is shut or the last layer of hell is cleansed.
Okay, but what about the necromancer once all demons are dead?
Question why this information hadn't been made public as it no doubt would have made things easier all around, allowed his kingdom to understand his logic and work with him against said demonic forces.
just because he's trying to hold back an invasion doesn't mean he's not still a tyrannical necromancer ruler.
I suppose the two aren't exclusive, in which case we need to ultimately decide which is the more pressing issue. Can the demon invasion be stymied by normal means and what to do with the necromancer afterwards.
I suppose the pragmatic approach would be to allow him and the demons to tire each other out and then swoop in and pick off the winner.
>learn about ongoing demonic invasion
>Try to rally other nobles to fight it
>nobody believes you
>Try to force them to carry with the strenght of arms
>fail
>All your wards are dead, spend a decade or two in your ruined castle learning necromancy
>fight 2.0, skeletal boogaloo
>You have won, but everyone hates your guts now
>Turns out that demons aren't obvious horde of fire and brimstone, but a deceitful foe that is capable of using superfugue
>By the time you have whole kingdom under your power, every underground scholar and exiled noble is convinced that demons are actually an angelic host that is coming to earth to give some smiting to the evil necromancer
>Propably wouldn't question it until the "angelic host" has burned cities down and made it so that the hole where they crawled out can't be closed anymore
I remember when this questioned was posed as
>am pope
>Vlad is vampire
>he’s fighting the Turk
>what do?
Do nothing.
Only right answer for his holiness.
>>he’s fighting the Turk
>>what do?
Tell Carla
Who's Carla?
I think in this case we have to figure out whether he's a tyrannical necromancer because of the demons or just an asshole who also happens to be fighting demons?
I mean with such new intel we have to rethink our position on him. We also have to consider that maybe he's also really bad at communicating so he never managed to explain what the bigger issue here is.
There's only one solution then. Turn everybody into skeletons. They are honest, loyal and don't plot against you.
It was a Scrubs joke. This dude named Turk ends up marrying this lady named Carla.
Ohhhhh
Gather an army to destroy Vlad first. Turks might be bad but at least they're not vampires.
Then try to defeat the Turks. Probably fail at it and blame Vlad for it since we wasted too much time ending his unlife.
THIS IS EXACTLY HOW WRATH OF LICH KING SHOULD HAVE GONE.
No user, we must kill the Lich King for his loot.
>Vlad the Implier
>Tyrannical
I understood that reference.
Well, the Musselman is a Satan-worshiper, and Vlad as a vampire is also a thrall of Satan. I build up Christian armies and post pickets, waiting for one enemy of Christ to exhaust the other, then I put them to the sword in His name.
I gather a crusade against Venice and burn the city to the ground before they get a chance to betray us in favor of the Turks yet again.
So Turks are demons and Vlad is bro tier necrodude ?
Now the question is whether he is really a bro because he fights demons and are demons evil?
kill him, then form an alliance to defeat the demonic invasion, in the process uniting the whole world in a single peaceful empire led by me.
His name will go down in history as the horrible necromancer who awakened the demons and caused them to almost destroy the world.
