It looks like they wanted to show the dragon bird thing pulling the wyverns head off. Yet it looks like it was sliced through. Or do wyverns heads just pop clean off like that
Are you actually trying to find sense in possibly the worst aos art to date? Archaon looks like a lego figure
Cooper Johnson
To people that didn't play WHFB and started playing with the AoS - How long did it take you to choose your first army? Which one you picked and why?
Luis Gray
About 5 seconds. I saw a terrorgheist and was like "Oooh ill have some of that"
Always buy what you think looks cool and what you want to paint. If you just buy whats gud, 1 GHB release and you are stuck with a shit army that you hate. Id rather have an army that I like and not care if its shit or not
Oliver Butler
I originally went with Stormcasts because they looked easy to paint and had a lot of cool bits for space marine conversions.
But they themselves were not interesting for being converted themselves and their playstyle just bored me.
Then I discovered the Seraphon. Hot DAMN did they click with me. Cool army theme? Yes. Amazing models? Yes. Interesting rules? YES.
Basicly, Seraphon are everything I wanted and I wish GW would update the warrior and knight kits or give us more dinosaur units. I want a big Brachiosaurus seige unit or feral carnosaurs.
Samuel Baker
Weren't you worried that FEC are not getting any new toys at all? I already know I will be tied to a single army for a quite long time (can't afford getting into two armies desu) and it's hard to be hyped about new stuff if you know it will be nothing about your dudes
Jeremiah Jackson
It was snapped in half by the chicken head.
Nathaniel Stewart
>Stormcast >had a lot of cool bits for space marine conversions. insert self-writing sigmarine joke here
Seriously though I don't think GW will do a brachiosaurus because all the seraphon kits are from WHFB, and now that GW wants everything to be more unique, I imagine they would try to do a somewhat original dinosaur, like a brachosaurus mixed with something else (like how Dracoths are dragon-horses or something, and gryph hounds are bird-dogs)
Easton Harris
I don't care because I also play GA: Death when I need to or use allies. Thats the beauty of AoS because you can collect your main force then get some things from the same Grand Alliance for vairety and fun when you need it. For example I have Neferata (ally for FEC) and a bunch of skeles because they looked cool. Skeles arent allies but i still like them and can use in a generic death army
Adam Thomas
>Weren't you worried that FEC are not getting any new toys at all? Wargaming isn’t for you if this is a legit concern of yours. Even the Stormcast deluge will pass eventually once their range is set and they’ll be just as starved as every other faction
Camden Bailey
Well, I don't now if I qualify, but when I was younger I never seriously played WhFB, I had the Battle for Skull Pass set and Blood Island, played a game once or twice with really shitty painted and unpainted models. Eventually quit, threw it all away.
A few years pass, my friend wants to play, but I can't motivate myself, as this was post WhFB early AoS, and GeeDubs was really on the rocks.
A year or two pass, and I see the Disciples of Tzeentch, and I immediately jump back into the game. They hit my hot button. Struggled learning the rules due to new game alongside recovering from a serious concussion, but I make recovery, and now two of my friends, my girlfriend, and I are all getting into it.
Henry Barnes
1. Yes. Basically immune to battleshock and one of the best gunlines in the game. 2. Not really. If you're playing a gunline, you could easily go too far to the point that no-one wants to play with you. And even if you're not, you're all but certainly running 150+ infantry. So better get those movement trays ready. 3. Most likely. The art for Graywater Fastness does feature Empire-looking troops, but when Freeguild get an actual release, I wouldn't be surprised if they are given an aesthetic that better suits the over-the-top look of the rest of Age of Sigmar. However, there's also just the chance that Freeguild never gets an actual release and instead GW pulls a Dispossessed and puts out an OC Donut Steel human faction. Maybe the remnants of the Lantic Empire, a technologically-advanced human empire that was reduced to primitive tribes dwelling in the ruins of technological wonders.
As much as I hate to admit it, Techno-Barbarians sound like a pretty interesting concept to build around. Hell, they could even rip off of Horizon Zero Dawn and have the Techno-Barbarians having 'tamed' and riding feral robots. They've got a definitely bone to pick with Chaos and Death, and they are basically the only known major human kingdom that fell during the Age of Chaos.
Michael Price
Decided on skaven pretty much immediately and got spire of dawn when that was available and sold off the elves.
I also saw the verminlord and thought it was the best out of the bunch when it comes to monsters and daemons. The rest of warhammer is just so fraught with fat and overly muscular models and muh spess marine obviously made to please those who are compensating for something.
I've always loved the skaven way of irrational motives and stressful panic. They're so weak and die by the dozen and actually use that as a method to win.
The only thing i really want is a battletome for them though. I'm bummed they removed all the battalions and would like to see a skaven battletome like the nurgle one.
Zachary Cruz
goblin love at first sight. i just love beating people with useless cowardly goblins. plus cool monsters
Brandon Roberts
When you really like something, you kinda just end up getting more and more of it. Then you end up like Vince with 9000000000 points of skaven or duncan with 6 gorrilian points of brets that you can never actually use because nobody plays games over 2k points. There are people with entire companies of space marines.
Michael Barnes
Technobarbarians are very likely, something that can be used for AoS and 40k akin to Tzaangors. Personally I rather see them stick to something a tad bit more organized though with an established militia or military vibe going for it.
Christian Turner
I didn't like skaven until I played total war and the modheim PC game. Now I will probably start an army if I can figure out which verminlord I like the most
Grayson Sanchez
>Even the Stormcast deluge will pass eventually once their range is set and they’ll be just as starved as every other faction Well, even with no new releases SCE have dozen of units and kits to have fun with. I want to get into BCR because I like their plastic units but there are so few of them and even fewer are usable. It would be just nice to have some variety. I mean, would you tell the spiderfang player that wargaming is not for him because he would be happy about new battleline kit?
Deceiver. You know you want to run an army of literal rat weaboos.
Something more organized would be nice and all, but it just seems strange for them to have now mentioned in the Lantic Empire in two different battletomes if they don't have plans for them. Especially since if they release in a year or two, they can try to piggyback off the hype over Horizon Zero Dawn with "Ermagawd, barbarians fighting and riding robot dinosaurs, so coooool~!"
Brody Baker
What the fuck are Malignants? Why do they get a SC box when they're not even a real faction? Which brainlet decided not to make the mortis engine nighthaunt?
Blake Morales
I think that GW had a plan for them but then they fucked this up and went full bakka with SCE. Still, you can always try to chop down the mortis engine for extra units and heroes
Jayden Hill
>Spiderfaggot Can't speak for all of the various Kults out there, but it isn't even a battleline unit that we're really hungry for. Spider Riders are moronically cheap and moronically efficient for battleline. And if you signed up to be a Spiderfag, you signed up for massed cavalry swarms. All we really need actually comes directly from the existing warscrolls. >Actually have a lower point cost for the naked Arachnarok / plain howdah >Make the Flinger actually worth running instead of a shaman or drop the point cost >Just give us back the Venom Mob That's pretty much it, and then we wouldn't have any real complaints. Great General, Great Wizard, Great Battleline, Great Behemoth, easily way to vomit out Mortal Wounds. We're fine, we just need the amount of work that would take a half-hour of digital updates. And if they do want to give us something... >Flinger on Gigantic Spider >Shaman on Gigantic Spider that only gets 1 cast/unbind, unique spell some sort of movement shenanigan
Joshua Thompson
The first batch of Start Collecting boxes were done based on "race" keywords (like Greenskinz, Seraphon, Malignants) instead of faction keywords.
Owen Sanchez
>rider is not a ghost >should be part of the ghost army
baka they could just have refluffed and repainted the guy to be a ghost with the engine holding his phylactery or something
David Collins
Kinda sad how death players are so desperate for a release that they're now cannibalizing larger kits to feel as if there's any form of variety to their army.
Aiden Smith

Jeremiah Myers
>modeling is now a desperation
Joseph Smith
it's elves for real this time.
Christian Clark
>buying a SC box for your army which features several hundred points that you can't even ally in and then tearing it apart to at least be able to sneak out some heroes and units >not desperation
Chase Lewis
?????
Luke Wood
>not buying a SC box with basic units for your army and a huge model that can be used to make neat markers, decorative bits, extra units and alternative heroes with a huge discount on the top of that
Mason Morales
There's no point in explaining it to them, after Malign Portents Death players have essentially been on suicide watch. You saw how much they sperged out after initial release, just ignore them my man. Any mental faculty they had is now long gone. They've come to become their army of choice.
Evan Garcia

Assembling my SC Nurgle daemons atm, does anyone know any good songs I can play in the background that has a Nurgle theme/feel to them?

Shit man, I have the best fucking list for you, just a second.
Juan Perez
What's sad is that I immediately settled on an army in 40k but I still haven't buried the knife for Sigmar. I seem to like every army without Allegiance rules.
Samuel Cruz
ITT: We add new units to factions with no allegiance rules and maybe invent some playstyles for them
>Ironweld Arsenal >a mix of humans and duardins wearing engineering sets and guns as infantry and battleline >playstyle revolves around warmachines and keeping them alive at all costs or placing tons of cheap warmachines and zerging your opponent
Isaiah Kelly
Anyone able to direct me to a Chaos profile to use for Skyfires on foot? I like Tzaangors a lot and want to make some archers with the spare arms but not sure what profiles to use. Ungors are an obvious one but are a bit squishy for a Tzaangor. Perhaps it’s the best analog though
Jonathan Miller
Alright, I love the names so far, but one problem; the mini is actually a chick.
Luke Harris
Suckera von Fellation
Joshua Williams
I'd rather Ironweld be shoved into Dispossessed and Free Peoples, respectively. Just stop the microfactions. Give them gun emplacements you can buy for war machines that make them sturdier and hit better. So like, immobile, but +1Sv +2W +1 to hit or something.

Where is that from?
Kayden Scott
Anyone else think that a Mortal Nurgle "Bravery Bomb" would be pretty legit for casual play? Your general can put out -4, then stack it with Bilepiper, Chaos Knights, Bile Troggoths and Skin Wolves. Add in some summoned Furies to increase battleshock losses by 50%.
Noah Harris
I mean, you know a percentage of suggested names were going to be dumb anyways. Is there anything wrong with a chick named Rupert when are being suggested?
Joshua Miller
>Death players are all delusional and/or braindead bitter husks >Stormcast players are all boring faggots gagging for daddy GW's next good boy cumshot >Dispossessed players are all manlets posting Le ebin dorf memes whilst wiping the tears off their neckbeards >Skaven players are all shitposting memelords who swarm threads and samefag so hard their numbers seem limitless >Seraphon players are all fat pepe-tier dudes sitting in chairs jerking it to scalie porn and dinosaurs, OR various people's imaginary girlfriend (non existent, like the conjured lizards themselves)
Any more?
Liam Cox
>muh serious names for muh serious plastic soldiers

Nah. To really be honest, when I do these sorts of "Dubs get to do ____" things, I am really just doing it so I can cherry pick the best names and suggestions.

Its more like the fact that i like to convert and build stuff out of spare bits, one day i might get gud but I do it mostly for fun, ive been building these guys today.
Wyatt Moore
Also as an extra thanks here’s one of my new Poxbringers, his name is Toadflux Bugblight. He is a peculiar Herald of Nurgle as he is curious about almost anything in the mortal realms. On his back he also has his trusted companion and pet, Skirax, a creature he found as a small hatchling during the conquest of Ghyran. It was seemingly immune to the Plagues and illness that were rampant in the thick undergrowth, they have been together ever since. Toadflux also has a habit of collecting other small creatures in vials he stores inside of him, everything from worms to mice fascinated him and he want them all to cherish the gifts of Nurgle just has he cherish them himself.

Best post of the day. Genuinely enjoy the life and various soul you put into your characters. The level of enthusiasm you show honors Grandfather Nurgle.

Got some Free Peoples from a friend, what would be the best way to expand the following?
Freeguild General On Griffon Freeguild General on horse Freeguild General on foot Celestial Hurricanum With Celestial Battlemage, parts to make an Luminark 40 Freeguild Guard 50 Freeguild Handgunners 10 x Freeguild Pistoliers 3 x Demigryph Knights
I also got some legacy stuff, that my club is fine with using under the Free People allegiance right now
7 x Pegasus Knights 2 x Empire Cannons
Nathaniel Cruz
Dude, I haven't seen this since forever.
Levi Bell
I’ve mostly been lurking and posting some progress from time to time. Got to finish my current stuff then I can update my document to show that the army has grown
Nathan Perry
Maybe some cannons? I heard the luminark is supposed to be quite good
Jose Myers
That's pretty much the entire Free Peoples army my man. Maybe another Griffon but you're well on your way to 2000. Get 20-30 Greatswords and you're golden.
Cooper Jones
It's time to flex your creative writing muscle /aosg/
If you worked as a writer for GW and they told you to justify Tyranids fitting into AOS, how would you do it?
>An ancient horror that comes from the dense magic between realms. Was dormant until the Season of Hope expanded the boundaries of the realms by clearing out the middle Or >Daemons conjured from shadows, polar opposite to the Seraphon celestial magic Or >A species from the Age of Myth that was never truly eradicated Or >A magical experiment by the Sylvaneth while Alarielle slept in the Age of Chaos. It was done in desperation to foster the growth of a new species of insect guardians, but it has gone horribly wrong Or >The duardin kept diggin until they found something that should have stayed buried
