/mgw/ - Monster Girl Worldbuilding

>monstergirlfags always bring up ancient mythological monstergirls like mermaids, nymphs, or kitsune to justify their shitposting on Veeky Forums
>whenever you bring up the fact that most of these monstergirls would drown you, eat your liver, or murder you in a dozen different other ways just for funsies they either conveniently ignore you or shriek "but that's not the point you nofunallowed troll!" and conveniently forget the conversation ever took place
The more I argued with them, the better I came to know their dialectic...

foxgirls are vanilla, now if she tries to eat my liver raw out of me that's a keeper. The best waifu is one acquired by absurd amounts of work and dedication, which is why mge is such a shit setting even for waifus desu.

Kitsunes are not liver eating monsters you utter plebeian, learn your lore

You want a fixer-upper?

Makes for better character growth

I don’t know. Comes off a bit high-handed.

No person is flawless. Flaws are what make a person interesting. Overcoming them is what makes them admirable.

Which is true. And I get wanting to be healed by love.

I’m just of the opinion ‘my love will change them!’ Is the kind of stuff you see in trashy romance novels.

Like you should love someone BECAUSE of their flaws, not in spite of them.

A trashy romance novel is still miles ahead of the alternative presented here. It's hard to give an example of better characterbuilding in this example because for something like a Kumiho, you'd have to atleast impact her enough to, you know, not eat your vitals. Though why would you like somebody for their flaws and not in spite of them? Flaws make a person them, but it's dealing with them that makes it romantical.

Well one of my flaws is I talk too much. My ideal partner wouldn’t want me to talk less, but would want to talk as much as me.
