So what's ck's favorite sushi?

So what's ck's favorite sushi?

Mine is just salmon and rice

Mine is just rice.

I never ate Sushi in my life.

I like Salmon nigiri too.

Not sushi, but Salmon onigiri is also good.

I'm allergic to fish.

Toro (tuna belly) nigiri

If it's thawed properly it's a dream

I prefer chicken sushi over fish.

Monkfish liver is great
White king salmon is great
Eel (both fresh and saltwater) is great

Salmon and eel. I like squid too but I don't have it a lot since it takes so long for me to chew.

I really love uni (sea urchin). Salmon skin handrolls are really great. And saba is a good one. I'm also a sucker for the big fat saucy rolls too though. Bonus points if it's got cilantro with it.

Eel is surprisingly absolutely fucking delicious.

It's very tasty, though I think a lot of it can be accounted for by the sauce. It's basically sake and mirin (and some soy?), that has been reduced for hours, making a ridiculous syrup.

tuna
eel
inari

I like the texture more than anything really.
It's like the perfect balance between tender and chewy.

True. It's also very expensive, unfortunately. One of these days I'd like to get an unagi-don, but I think they were like $20 at my local restaurant. Really delicious though.

Sometimes you can find it at Asian markets, so cooking it at home might be a good way to go

...

I haven't managed to gather enough good boy points to get these yet.

Gimme gimme
Fish Tendies

Salmon nigiri, preferably fatty

Sashimi, none of that faggot rice garbage. I like tuna best.
I also have a weakness for california rolls.
>tfw poorfag and this shit is expensive
>supposed to be japanese bar food
>hipsters made it into a gourmet item with gourmet pricetag

sashimi isn't sushi

it's sashimi

it was japanese working class meal and it was brined. You dont know what you're talking about

Do you know what the word sushi means?

Ikura. That combination of salty fish eggs and seaweed just makes my balls fizz.

Spicy tuna rolls and chu-toro nigiri.

Find a better sushi place. Local one I like does a 10.99 lunch special that comes with a bowl of miso and your choice of three rolls. 18 pieces and soup for 10.99 is a steal.

Caramelized red garnet yam slices, thinly sliced green onion, cream cheese, and water chestnut slices.

I think OP asked for sushi, not some weird hipster bullshit.

For the past couple months I've been digging spicy tuna rolls and eel rolls but I feel like I need to expand.

Any recommendations on where to go from here? Some salmon seems like it might be good

thats not sushi that's fuckin vegetables and rice

Why do people go to sushi restaurants rather than sushi buffets? You get more sushi for a cheaper price at a buffet.

>inb4 muh taste and eloquence

They taste the same ya dopes

>thats not sushi that's fuckin vegetables and rice

Sushi IS fucking rice, that's literally what the word refers to. Whether or not the roll contains fish has no bearing on it being sushi.

I love Chicago style 'shi

Anything simple. I really dont like american style sushi rolls covered in sauce and toppings.

Nigiri is my favorite, followed by traditional Maki rolls.

Pic is from Sushi Dai in the Tsukiji fish market in Tokyo. Went in April.

Best Chicago style pizza

It takes 45 years of intensive samurai training successfully place a piece of fish on a ball of rice

One must stand in a river for 3 days straight before they can muster the courage and honor required to garnish a plate with pickled ginger.

it is these rice masters that truly allow society to grow great

Post your rare sushi pics. I'm craving them rn

Fresh tuna nigiri and futomaki

shut up weeb

Yes master

official trash tier sushi:
anything with avocado

that is all

>18 pieces

I consider myself a pretty vigorous eater, but even that sounds like too much.

E E L

Not real sushi. GTFO

It has sushi rice. It's fucking nigiri sushi you fuck

Is not not "real" sushi because a jap didn't rub his baby penis all over it, or because you don't actually know the definition of sushi?

>Implying rice on shitty meat cum guzzled with sauce is any different from those california rolls filled with mayonnaise and ketchup

Fuck off fags, it's not sushi and it never will be.

SUSHI IS THE RICE

it has nothing to do with being in roll or nigiri form.

>i have the right to change traditional definition

Sushi is sushi. Your opinions don't matter.

Usually all you can eat is either quite expensive or of lower quality. My most local all you can eat is cheap as heck, but it's also not very good. There's one a little further out, and it's like $30 for a meal. So it's great if you're that hungry. But usually I'm not trying to gorge that hard anyway. I can get a big roll, a handroll, and some rice and soup for like $16, and thats plenty for me.

Damn, that looks really good. Is it significantly better than most of the nigiri you can get stateside?

Huh, where I'm at it's $20 for a meal. Usually end up taking 4 plates, Udon and desert for this. The quality might not be as good as ones you'd find in a regular sushi restaurant but It still suffices for me.

If it makes you feel better, you bitch baby boy, I like it without the sauce more (but I don't really care to begin with).

This is my plate from the other night.
>scallop nigri
>uni
>salmon rolls
Scallops are just so buttery and delicious.
Bf and I split a sashimi plate too. Had to order one more uni because the taste was extra savory.
Ikura is top tier as well.
Eel is a mid for me but it's one of the best things to order at a cheap sushi joint.

Ikura and Uni are the best. I'd even say masago isn't bad either

I usually just prefer to eat a smaller amount of very good sushi. I'm spoiling myself when I go out for sushi, so I want it to be delicious. And I'm trying to watch my figure, so there isn't much of a place for all you can eat.

...

I really like octopus and any white fish with a bit of lemon.

But I've been hard pressed to find something I don't like.

Why are you guys eating oriental food? It's the most unhealthy food. It will kill you! Only the uneducated, lower class eat it.

>tfw hipsters and weebs managed to turn raw fish and rice into an expensive meal

How do they do it?

How do they ruin everything?

do americans really eat this shit?

dragon rolls desu

I wish eel was more mainstream in America.

Top 3
EEL
Tuna
King crab

there's a place by me(419) that does a roll with minced spicy tuna on the inside, beef tartar, wasabi glaze and paper thin jalapeno on top it is god

fuck yeah eel

can't get it anywhere around me but canned eel is god tier

all we have here is fucking sardines

>18 pieces and soup for 10.99
Holy fuck. I hate my fucking country

Salmon and Eel

Anyone order sushi grade frozen fish online and make their own?

I've done it before with imitation crab and tuna from Fresh Market, but want a better diversity.

This user is clearly a fat fuck....
>eating 18 pieces of oriental food

Nice bait, this must be why asians live so long.

Broiled salmon skin rolls are fucking incredible. That said, a good piece of tuna nigiri is probably my absolute favorite.

they are typically smaller in size with only fish or possibly one other ingredient, they aren't dragon rolls he's eating or that WOULD be a lot of food

Keep itching for that pretend fight.

Was going to defend your hipster bullshit for technically being sushi but
>cream cheese
opinion discarded

I like a nice plain tuna roll
I'm not really that into sushi though

salmon sashimi
alaskan philly roll
spicy tuna roll
salmon hand roll

there was this place where i went to uni with that awesome special sauce they put on their hand rolls. that shit was fire

>18 pieces of sushi
>a lot of food
It's a decent sized meal. Especially if you split it.
This one has 18 pieces, but it was split and I'm sure it cost more than 10.99.

went to a different place on campus last week and got the chefs special which came with

>6 or 7 pieces of nigiri (salmon, tuna, yellowtale, eel, and whatever other shit idr)
>salmon, tuna, and yellowtale sashimi (3 peices each, surprisingly thick slices, like an inch and a quarter)
>a spicy tuna roll but not that shit with ground up old tuna, it was fresh full slices of fish

cost 30 bucks, not too bad

I like big tuna

Was getting caught part of your plan?

Clearly not shared....

WHY would you eat it that way? I just order the whole roll from my local chinkfood place and eat it like a burrito. I call it 'cold pocket'. Delicious AND practical.

Also super high in Mercury.

Yeah if you get yellowtail or tuna rolls always ask for the fish sliced

My go to is always a salmon avocado because the quality of salmon says a lot about a place since it's so popular. I'll also usually do one of their specialty rolls or if all their specialty rolls sound like they'd suck I'll get a dragon roll (tempura shrimp, cucumber inside topped with Unagi and avocado)

You don't need fish in order for it to be sushi. You can have vegetables, chicken, different kinds of seafood, etc. Shit doesn't have to be raw, either.

This right here. Maki with fried chicken, shichimi and a vegetable is elder god tier.

If you're getting sushi made at a supermarket, hard to go wrong with eel; even the worst eel and worst sauce is okay-sushi

favorite is salmon nigiri. Place by me in Golden, CO called Maki sushi makes a killer mango roll. grew up in San Diego and this Maki place from outta left field is the best sushi I've ever had
