yes
As long as it's cheese and not WIDF «cheese»
Yes, especially unpasteurized.
I love plastic garbage, we award ourselves a new made up prize every year. The best microcheeseries don't sell across state lines so if you think you don't like plastic garbage, it's because you haven't had the real microcheeseries cheese that isn't like what you think
Basically, I've never had actual cheese but I have very strong feelings on the topic of something you've had and I haven't. Wisconsin makes the only real plastic garbage, if you think Vermont has even thought about cheese you're obviously trying to annihilate America and let me tell you, europoors, I don't think about you at all
t. Vice President of AstroTurf, Wisconsin International Internet Defense Force
Is there any other type?
I don't think unpasteurized can legally be called cheese?
you mean pasteurized?
Sure, my mistake.
I like blue cheese best.
I don't understand this post, its purpose, or message
fancy cheese with wine and honey is one of life's greatest pleasures. Any ideas on what else I can put on my cheese plates when i decide to splurge?
pls no brined foods.
Wisconsin make the finest cheese in the world, it always wins in international competitions even beating European cheeses.
it sure can, but in america you can't transport it across state lines or import it iirc
or sell it without a permit
ok
I'll just leave this here......
he's baiting you fuckwit
What is the best Dutch cheese?
>america wins contest held by wisconsin cheese association for the first time in 28 years.
I'm dying.
Limburger
I like cheese, but I don't eat it, because it is pure saturated fat.
holy shit this looks nice, I dunno, I probably shouldn't browse this board this time of the month.
Just because the JIDF is real doesn't mean you can slap on a different first letter to create a boogieman for something you don't like.
The WIDF has a pretty solid shilling history though, it's one of the more reasonable *IDFs I've seen
European cheese contests can be inherently biased against foreign cheeses simply because they only accept DOC cheesemakers and give awards by class of cheese. You can make Red Leicester in America but it wouldn't be admissible or as good as what you can produce in England because of the terroir, but you can make new and different kinds of cheeses in America that are on par with euro cheese, just different. It's kind of silly that we put faith in these contests as objective measures of quality
It's kind of like entering a German Shepard in a Poodle contest
It's got good bacteria and mold in it though, so it's more than just pure saturated fat. It's saturated fat plus pro-biotics.
Fucking seriously. Good cheese, like cheese that you slice and eat straight up and not cheese that you mix into a casserole, is expensive as fuck.
I heard dick cheese is unpasteurized and goes well with chocolate syrup.
Smegma is absolutely delicious, but not technically cheese
Wisconsin doesn't need to pay people to talk about how great their cheese is, Jews have to because nobody likes them and the descendents of Abraham won't do anything for free
there is a lot of protein and water in cheese dude
You need to think outside the box.
I part of a group of 8 friends/couples and we buy a wheel of Parmesan a couple times a year and split it among us. When we divvy it up we have a party and the smell that comes off of it when you split it is indescribably good
you should work with cheese if cutting them up brings you such pleasure.
Not really
figs, or any kind of dried fruit
nuts
why don't you like brined foods? olives and blue cheese were made for each other
>good cheese
>expensive as fuck
not at trader joe's
>good cheese
>trader joes
Pick one
people who work with food like that usually end up hating it. smelling it all day, it gets into your clothes, they probably eat a lot of it when they first work there and get sick of it, etc.
This stuff tastes so good it should be made by Hostess.
m8 u wot. i get st. andre at half-price there.
if you have seen a DOC parm get split you would too
>Ile de France brand
Icky
Are the bubbles in American Swiss artificial?
OH SHIT you're right. i still like the cheese, though. it's hard not to love a triple-cream
I like the dried fruit idea
let me rephrase that. I don't like brine foods in aluminum cans. they taste like the can. I am not opposed to, say, pickled okra or asparagus. In the case of artichoke hearts, I prefer them freshly marinated.
oh, okay. olives are very common on cheese plates and usually come in glass.
i'm headed to the artichoke festival next weekend, as a matter of fact—can't wait.
Everything in America is artificial, even the people
I don't appreciate that italicized "any". What is it even implying?
That we send trillions of cheeses over and they all lose? That there's even a "plasticy individually wrapped 'cheese'" category and we even lose that?
Fuck you italicized "any". Fuck you.
ok
don't worry bro you can always fly your hideous wife out here to get her boob job done

I'm only actually friend with one of them
bait
Good enough to get some of that cheese!
>Good cheese, like cheese that you slice and eat straight up and not cheese that you mix into a casserole, is expensive as fuck.
>go to Giant Eagle and browse cheeses
>pick up a Bellavitano Merlot since it looks good
>$1.99/lb
>"That can't be right."
>look at another
>$19.99/lb
>sort through the container and pull out all the mispriced ones
>end up paying $5 for 2.5 lbs of cheese
Shit was good, too.
It's an optimal situation. Everyone seems nice but I'm just there for the goods
What would be an example of a "healthier" cheese? Is goat cheese healthier than cow cheese?
It has less fat. I don't know if that's necessarily healthier.
i dunno about healthier but people who have problems with lactose tolerate goat cheese better. something to do with the size of the fat globules
Is that like the World Series though, where the rest of the World doesn't even get an invite?
They do, but they don't give out awards by class, just which cheese they like the most
Most cheese contests in Europe are based on class, like best Cheddar or best Edam or whatnot. Well in that case you can only really have cheese from producers in the cheddar or edam region, so American cheddars or edam would not be admissible as they are not actually from those places, just "cheddar style" or "edam style." It's not a terrible system but it is not possible for American cheeses to win in those contests
The problem with the Wisconsin cheese board's contest is something like 2/3 of the judges are from America, so they have an inherent bias for American cheeses you would assume, but I think they are probably well trained enough about the cheeses of the world that that would not be a huge problem
Frankly the meme war about wisconsin and european cheese is stupid to me. It's not like Euros are trying to impress americans with their food, they already know it is good
I almost accidentally bought a Wisconsin cheese today, it somehow got mixed in with the real cheese instead of staying in its segregated part of the store reserved for plastic garbage
It wasn't pre sliced so I momentarily got confused
>"healthier" cheese?
non fat yogurt.
non fat cottage cheese is pretty great too.
>fancy cheese
Define
>you can't transport it across state lines
>import it
>or sell it without a permit
LAAAAAAANNDDD OFFFFF THE.....
FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
>Well in that case you can only really have cheese from producers in the cheddar or edam region, so American cheddars or edam would not be admissible as they are not actually from those places
What Wisconsinites Believe, Volume #1
Cheddar & Edam are not PDO. Try again.
not him but edam def is PDI
>Cheddar & Edam are not PDO. Try again.
en.wikipedia.org
Oh look, is that Cheddar I see on the list?
I like virtually all cheese except most Italian cheese. I cannot explain why, but just about every type of Italian cheese (except one or two types) taste horrendously disgusting to me.
Not th user you were talking to.
I am English and I live about 20 Miles from Cheddar itself and I can tell you that Cheddar Cheese is NOT pdo . . .. . I never even bothered with your wiki link.
>disagreeing the wiki
Yes I do disagree.
Wikipedia has many false claims and this is obviously one of them.
I could move to Bosnia next week and start producing Cheddar . . .I could move to your backwater hovel and produce Cheddar.
Sorry if it bursts your bubble.
>cheese autism
You can post as many silly reaction images as you want.
The truth is still the truth.
Truth is subjective to begin with but you're clearly presenting us with a bit of misinformation you wish us to believe is fact. Now, I know wiki has issues, but when all the links and biblio share the same info you really don't even have a leg to stand on. Be stubborn all you want but the overwhelming amount of information available to us via the internet states quite clearly that you are WRONG.
Unless you have some backing evidence from an accredited source you should really just fuck off, this thread has surpassed you.
I don't need to back anything up you said Cheddar was PDO . . .. it's down to YOU to provide evidence for this. .. . Not Jewpedia.
I could go to any place on the Planet produce cheese and stick a Cheddar label on it.
Posting silly pictures doesn't make you right.
I actually didn't post any of that. I joined in here >'the name "West Country Farmhouse Cheddar" has an EU protected designation of origin, and may only be produced in Somerset, Devon, Dorset and Cornwall, using milk sourced from those counties.[36] Cheddar is usually sold as mild, medium, mature, extra mature or vintage. Mature cheddar is the best-selling variety in the UK.[37] Cheddar produced in Orkney is registered as an EU protected geographical indication under the name "Orkney Scottish Island Cheddar"'
idfa.org
>"West Country Farmhouse Cheddar"
A slight change of goalposts here eh?
I couldn't find the info on the site link you provided (i'm kind of multitasking anyway, so I didn't spend too much time there) but in any event, I am still correct.
I will accept a small apology.
>A slight change of goalposts here eh?
>EU protected designation of origin
Thats my line, kiddo. You said it wasn't, I found proof it is.
thestar.com
theguardian.com
Would you like more evidence of PDO Cheddar?
It exists, it two varieties.
en.wikipedia.org
"C
Cabrales cheese
Caciocavallo
Cantabrian cream cheese
Cantal cheese
Casciotta d'Urbino
Casín cheese
Castelmagno cheese
Castelo Branco cheese
Cheddar cheese
Comté cheese
Crottin de Chavignol"
>Cheddar cheese
And my line was labelling something as Cheddar Cheese is not protected . . .. and it isn't.
Going into local descriptions of the cheese was not part of my argument, in any whey shape of form (did you see what I did there?)
Nah, you're backpedalling. I won, you know it, and now everyone who is capable of reading knows it too. Look at all this evidence I have in support of my point whilst you attempt to make due with anecdotal claims and denial. Refusing to even look at the wiki further shows you ignorance and inability to handle being wrong.
>cheddar
>PDO confirmed
>en.wikipedia.org
>Certification: West Country Farmhouse Cheddar PDO, Orkney Scottish Island Cheddar PGI
did you even bother to google this? god you're a dumbass.
>Refusing to even look at the wiki further shows you ignorance
Now I know you are just trolling, your other two links don't back you up either.
Cheddar cheese can be made anywhere in the world and it can be labelled as Cheddar. . .. it's what I have been saying all along.
Wikipedia links . . .dismissed.
No, you said Cheddar wasn't PDO. It obviously is. Stupid american.
What was that you said about moving goalposts?
Also, learn to read. I know your nations educational standards are the lowest out of all the modern nations but this is ridiculous. So much proof here and you can't and/or refuse to read any of it.
gov.uk
>Stupid american
>Also, learn to read
Oh the ironing.
Hey read this>Cheddar cheese can be made anywhere in the world and it can be labelled as Cheddar. . .. it's what I have been saying all along.
>Cheddar & Edam are not PDO
Oh really? Because I read this and then found vast amounts of evidence, even evidence from my own government, saying you're wrong.
Now I haven't seen Edam, but Cheddar is on the list, both Wiki and gov.uk. And fuck off with your nitpicky bullshit. Just because the Cheddars on the list aren't labelled simply "Cheddar" doesn't mean a damn thing. Just look at the rest of the list and the 5 different types of "Pecorino".
Go ahead, keep moving the goal post. I'm still scoring.
>keep moving the goal post.
I haven't moved them at all . .. not one bit, not the slightest tiny fraction.
The Cheddar Cheese is not PDO . .. that's it, end of story.
see>Cheddar cheese can be made anywhere in the world and it can be labelled as Cheddar. . .. it's what I have been saying all along.
>Cheddar Cheese is not PDO
>gov.uk
>what you've been saying is wrong according to the only government on Earth that actually matters.
Go cry to your niggerking, murican.
I'm not a part of this argument but I hope I can clear this up.
It both is and isn't a PDO. The EU in typical anti-British sentiment said that Cheddar was to widespread for it to get PDO status, Feta was the same but they gave that a PDO, but they agreed that the traditional cheddar which is distinguished by being "farmhouse" can get a PDO.
I hope this helped everyone.
>britishcheese.com
Oh hey, Cheddar is on this list too...Hmmmm. I guess Its just another instance of all reputable evidence saying you're wrong.
Will you simply move the goal post again? Another not-so-subtle attempt to chance your stance? You should also stop leaning so heavily on that wiki article, you said they're unreliable. I'll stick with the government backed websites.
Not really. Normally I disagree with anything the EU tries to enforce. A bunch of clowns pretending at legitimacy.
