yea. it's kind of similar. I would recommend taking a trip to Peru sometime. It's not all that expensive of a trip, seeing the andes, traditional rural towns, amazon rainforest, machu picchu and all that other Peru shit is a great time.

I never actually ate the street food. something about eating street food in a place you can't drink the tap water doesn't seem ok to me. I had guinea pig in a couple of their nice restaurants, they often cooked it like it was chicken.
I also had alpaca steaks there, it was ok. A red meat that sort of tasted somewhere between beef and pork.
overall, it was a good trip. I recommend going there at least once in your life for the food and culture if you're into traveling.

Not the poster, but Cuy is a very... different taste. It's kind of an acquired taste too. I always have some familiar drink next to me to down it with so I can have something I know to taste. It's not bad though. I wouldn't eat it everyday.

my guess would be that they aren't planning to serve those onions, theyre just there to flavor the juice, so they didn't see a reason to remove them. I do that with whole garlic heads in my beef stew because I'm not going to split up the head and remove all the skins if i'm going to be removing the garlic. I'm not sure why they would do that with onions, though, since the skin is so easy to remove.
