What are the greatest books ever written?

The Iliad and the Odyssey
The Aeneid
The Divine Comedy
The Canterbury Tales
Hamlet, Othello, King Lear and Macbeth
Don Quixote
Paradise Lost

no black authors

racist

All correct except for Don Quixote which was written by a Mexican.

>Moses
>not black

that dude wrote like half the Bible

He was from Spain.

Is Divine Comedy as good as his Devil May Cry series?

This thread was linked on /pol/

if you get the illustrated version, it's better.

Not even close to half according to tradition, and not any of it at all according to the Documentary Hypothesis

I hope /pol/ is now aware that Miguel de Cervantes was from Spain.

Cool, I like picture books.

What is the literary equivalent of Evangelion?

Devil May Cry is a series of video games created by Hideki Kamiya, Anonymous, not Dante Alighieri, who wrote the epic poem the Divine Comedy.

>no dostoevsky

Twilight

I would have gone with Tolstoy before him.

Nice, does it have mecha?

Mein Kamf

*tips fedora*

Only one off :O

CHECK EM XD

I might recommend Brother's Karamazov. It became my favourite novel shortly after watching Evangelion as a teen.

The Bible itself is of course, another good book to understand the symbolism of Evangelion better.

Evangelion of course, has to deal much with the concept of God being made in man's image (much like man creates dolls or effigies), so the concept is essentially, "Could man create a God Machine?" and "Would God himself carry out Divine Retribution on mankind, and could mankind ever hope to fight against him?

Evangelion is a great series, to be quite frank. I would also recommend LoGH despite being an entirely different genre.

Another great read. It's always important to understand how these men of power reach their offices.

>there are people right now who will only read this book after Donald is President.

Neat
Is ballet or opera literature?

Nothing Tolstoy wrote comes close to c&p or super karmazov bros

>posting pictures of Ted Cruz on Veeky Forums

it's more about a bunch of brothers and their dickhead dad who bites the dust. if you loved all the daddy issues of Eva, you'll LOVE all the daddy issues of Brothers Karamazov.

>super karmazov bros

I audibly chucked.

>didn't speak English

Doesn't matter, we'd still deport him.

Dostoyevsky ranges over every mental health issue known to man.

Yes, this is a good way to put it. I don't know why I was so drawn towards Karamazov after watching Evangelion as a teen, but it makes perfect sense when you think about it.

Almost all the characters in his novels are mentally ill degenerates, which of course makes for a great novel.

Ever read the play Phaedra by Seneca? The Golden ass by Apuleius or Metamorphosis by Ovid? I feel that these are works that /pol/ and Veeky Forums would both enjoy and maybe we can all be friends.

>The Golden ass

I like the sounds of this novel.

Read it it's very funny and super based.

what's wrong with that book? explain

There's nothing wrong with Art of the Deal, he's just an asshurt Bernie/Hillary voter.

Hillary supporters are Bankers, big time stock investors, and Saudis. I refuse to believe a average person will support that

belief=/=reality

The sad truth is the average woman over the age of 30 is a Hillary voter because she just really, really, really wants to see a female POTUS. They'll willingly buy into her lies because they want a female POTUS that badly.
