This post is too long now, if the new book comes out I might read it eventually but I'm not excited.

Read Catch 22, Flowers for Algernon, or Confederacy of Dunces. These are what novels should be.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of people who think the novel is a vehicle to show the world how smart you are. These people really need to fuck off (although they never will)

Also, Le Carre's Karla trilogy is great. Interesting look at the western intelligence community during the cold war. The BBC miniseries is also great.
