You tell me.

It definitely stood the test of time and a great vision. Tolkien is often included in lit for those same qualities, so I don't see why not.

Dune has become a huge book in the hip-hop world because of its cunning hero and emphasis on cutthroat politics.

Dune is to sci-fi what LoTR is to fantasy

I just got my 40th anniversary edition in the mail today. Looking forward to getting into it tomorrow.

Both are genre fiction, not literature.

>genre fiction can't be literature
wew ladimir

The characters are a bit eh and the dialogue is cheesy sometimes, if those were improved on yeah it would be

Sorry, but it's not literature if the prose is shit.

No, the writing isn't good enough.

It's only literature when you pair it with pic related's album Geidi Primes.

No user. Nothing is literature besides Infinite Jest

>genre fiction by definition has bad prose
oh my...

No, it's littérature

Its more ""literature"" than half the shit that presumes to be.

Before I read it, I thought it was going to be. It's not. It's just a pretty good sci-fi novel.

Doesn't mean everything that gets labeled "literary" and reviewed in the Times is better, though. But if you're asking if it's great or even good literature, no.

Of course it is, even comic books are literature.

Don't confuse what you don't like with what something is/isn't.

That's not what I said.

That's exactly what you said boyo.
Or to be more precise, that's exactly what you implied. Don't play dumb with me you infantile dreck scum.

Comic books are not literature, you insufferable pleb. Go back to /co/.

Nope, not even close. Your illiteracy is astounding.
