Dude I saw this in my high school library and almost didn't read it.
Found this cover though, it really emulates the emotions I gain from the book.
Now I have this hardcover copy with a thing to slide it in and rad cover art, I think it's signed too.
Uncle gave it to me, the man is a based reader.

I didn't know Ricky Gervais was in the Hobbit.

I think he looks exactly like Mark Addy

Obligatory

My sides.

Believe it or not, this was the book that introduced me to "serious" literature

EightiesPornstar/10

what the fuck, I had to look that up because I thought you were pullin' a fast one.

Anyways, I think this cover I have for the Stranger is god awful. Felt like a damn weirdo reading it in public.

I don't see where you're coming from with this.
Shit like that today must look normal, considering how fartsy art is getting.

It's dope as fuck. I would love to read that in public.

>Judging books by their covers

I will admit, it does underscore the homoeroticism of the book

What does this even have to do with the book? Is there a missing scene where Mersault joins a band?

>because that's what we're doing

Calm down lad, we're just poking fun at bad covers

Are these guys a Ghost tribute act?

r u a rtrd?

My first thought was it represents the jury in the trial. The hats carry some religious symbolism, reminds me of the priests in Jesus Christ Superstar.

That gay fucking Brothers K book cover. God it's fucking terrible

best cover

...

I got a real kekker here.

I know too many Marmeledovs in my life. :(

Fucking horrendous.

>Pablo died today...

Did the Silver Surfer bust a nut on that cover, or what?

Touch and Go

I have that version, kind of like it.

Couldn't believe this one was real for the longest time

...

Is a reference to the recently discovered book 25 of the Odyssey, in which Polyphemus has his revenge by bonking Odysseus over the head with a cricket bat.

...

That cover's OK, what are you on about?

hello skip

...

...

...

This... but I am suspicious it was done as an intentional in-joke.

...

...

And for sheer graphic ineptness, this one is hard to beat.

...

These seem decent enough covers, other than odd titles.

how's this?

No way that's real.

I don't fucking understand.

samefag

pssh...nothing personnel...kid

>yeah Paulie I'm calling from the printer's where's the cover image for Treasure Island?
>Treasure Island? I don't-
>It was due today Paulie where the fuck is it?
>no yeah Treasure Island got it right here boss I'm mailing it to you right now boss
>good. For a minute Paulie I thought we had a problem.
>N-no problem boss
>*hangs up*

something is up about this chinese castle but i can't quite put my finger on it

Neuschwanstein, the disney castle, if you're not being ironic.

Wat?

...

that's the best version though (regardless of cover)

...

...

this cover is about as accurate as Doyle's actual research so it gets a quality pass from me

Curious about that comment -- it's been over a decade since I read the book, but it seems to me, as I think back to it, to be up to date in most areas, given when it was written.

You're right, it's more or less on-point with a lot of modern works, save for some additions he couldn't have known about. Fun to look at the book as a kiddy diorama, though, featuring an allosaurus attack.

I actually own this one.

...

that some vaporwave shit right there

The only real reason OP doesn't like that Hobbit cover is because the hobbit is fat, but nothing about the cover is literally, or fundamentally, wrong.

...

>39.95 for a wordsworth book
what the fuck kind of currency is that

Danish kroner

Still better than the movie covers

Forgot pic

ha ha penis XD

...

Should have been a picture of dorian gray

oh dear

Bilbo looks like Lou Costello with a perm. Sting looks gay as shit. Gollum looks like Nosferatu.

I could fap to this

W E

Shut up you unoriginal faggot.

Please don't reply to me unless you're contributing to the thread

nigger

anyone else hate this cover?

You just confirmed I'm right because you cracked me up.

Imagine that fat Bilbo/Costello addressing his traveling companion loudly, impatiently: "HOB-BIIITT!!!" a la the old Warner Bros. cartoon spoofs:

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Babbit_and_Catstello

This is probably too specific for younger anons but if you'd seen the cartoons, you'd understand.

GOAT

"Hey you"
"Que?"
"Wanna be on a book cover?"
"Que?"
*snap*

based on my understanding it should be
"¿Como?", not "Que?". Still, a very excellent post.

top fucking yek

that's a joke, right?

>English translation
>best version

You disgust me.

killed me

That's a stock image that I first encountered on an iPhone lock screen aggregator clickbait page.

>"The year is L33T"
yeah, uh, no thanks.

laul I am currently reading this book and now I'm wondering what it would be like if Rodion had been a goofy, whimsical Irishman rather than a psychologically unhinged russian

stupid yankee, you know nothing

no fucking way

a e s t h e t i c

...

Anyone have more of these?

yeah if youre not going to have an image, then why not just make it minimalistic and classy instead of having stereotypical cowboy font text literally covering it

holy shit lol
visionary

It's not, that's the best part

LEWD

these are some of the best. Crime and Punishment wordsworth is a classic too. Brother's K illustrated platinum rocks my world.
