Dystopian novels (the strawman genre) are generally pretty bad, entry-teir books. That being said:

Haven't any of you people read We by Yevgeny Zamyatin? It was the inspiration for 1984.

Out of 1984 & Fahrenheit 451, which is better?

It's an allegory on the history of the Soviet Union. Paper thin as well, so everyone should see that.

I think Fahrenheit is a bit different from most Dystopias. It's not about a totalitarian government that oppresses everyone, but how 'the people' are actually responsible.

I had dream just now where I bought 1984 and immediately regretted it and gave it to a friend.

I would say easily 1984 but Fahrenheit 451 is shorter I think.
