You live in Germany?

brilliant

No one ever responds to my lime twig threads

I liked it. The setting reminds me of Eliot's England (which I guess it is), but focuses more on smells than sights. The whole thing felt like a weird dream/nightmare, like when you don't know if you are awake or asleep.

is the P&V translation of this acceptable? I have that and the glenny copy..

its probably one of the better books i've ever read

Yeah what the fuck. half of 1984 is thoughts about raping women, sex scenes or the building up segments towards those sex scenes.

Why does almost nobody mentions this when talking about 1984?

really?

Honestly, the cover is a pretty good representation of the book--it's weird, hard to make out, and makes you very uncomfortable. New Directions is such a great publisher.

wew boi, your image is what made me read the lime twig. I liked it a lot, has a really dreamy feel to it.

...

It makes sense. We are innately sexual from a biological perspective and when this is suppressed it would be a major theme in one's thoughts.

Magnificent

Stormlight just wasn't as good as the Pacific Rim the novel

Books I've read on the basis of these images:

What I get from these threads is that the book you imagine from the title+cover is way better than the one you actually end up reading.

i can get the spaghetti spilling reference, but why Crowley?

pessoa was interested in occultism and mysticism, which feature in the book, and he also corresponded with crowley

also serves to explain that the character is mostly just a misguided weirdo

Hey, is that Clifford's Tower? I live near that.

I didn't read it for Finnegans Wake, but I liked the book.

If you live near it shouldn't you know what it is?

This template is the literal worst thing ever.

>t. robot

Why should I take what you have to say seriously, especially when you're talking about "innate" sexuality

kys

>acceptable
All translations are awful, just pick whatever you want

sorry if I'm being stupid, but can you explain this meme? The third panel actually; I haven't read the book and have no intention of doing so, so I have no context to understand what you're trying to say.

I really don't understand why anyone would think this fat ugly kike could portray the athletic WASPy beauty of St. David Foster Wallace desu

You were reading Das Kapital expecting the communist manifesto?

Have fun reading Summa Theologica expecting the old testament

THANK YOU grass mowing levin ftw. still only good part of the book.

What did he mean by this?

the funny thing about the art of the deal is, that Trump is doing exactly what he wrote in the book in his campeign. He's asking for way more than he wants(being outlandish, outrages, etc) so when he actually comprises, gets serious he gets far more than he wanted, he gets you on his side, and he seems way better than he actually is. I don't don't expect shillary supporters to read though

True. Got a few good laughs tho. Hit and miss.

So basically every worn-down cliche portrayal of bartering in every piece of fiction ever.
What a genius.

It works, doesn't it?

Real this as I travel through York. Spooky.
