You know, a lot of people think it's stupid to find something that angers you on purpose. I am of opposite opinion - people by their nature are rigid, so if you have an opinion, it's tough to change it. But the chances are better if you seek out the opposing side than if you stay within your comfort zone.

I knew a guy who was really /pol/, hated jews and women, but he managed to go to summer conference for liberals - he probably expected to just get triggered and reinforce his position that all lefties are cucks - but when he returned, even if he remained /pol/, his arguements became much more rational.

I had the same experience with meme trilogy. I emerged loving Pynchon, respecting Joyce, and understanding DFW, even if I don't agree with him.
