It's a theory, but religion is a plan to control a lot of people, through a sort of singular hive mind mentality. It's been based on the same text for 2000+ years.

If that isn't its goal (the removal of violence) then how has it failed at it? + Why should religion be judged on violence? Why not the amount of cheese in the world or any other unrelated concept.
