whoops didnt mean to say american

>4/10 is Ayn

It's 99.9% flawless. Orwell should be #3, tho

Love how Orwell's only on there because wingnuts misinterpret him

ayn rand should be higher

i first read animal farm in 7th grade and assumed it was an indictment of leftism in general. it's easy to make that mistake since left libertarianism is essentially dead (in america at least).

>Tolkien and Orwell
>American

IIRC this is the library of america reader poll

that's why OP said american, as in american readers

...

i should have said 'america's top 10 novels...'

i forgot the poll wasn't asking about american literature specifically.

Considering Anthem is a novella, 90% accuracy at the most

It isn't, but this is--spinelessbooks.com/mccaffery/100/index.html.

>Best-selling novels

And who said popular isn't the same as good.

It's amusing how of the three decent entries, two are British authors.

Shouldn't the three Scientology books be barred for being religious? And Rand's be barred for being... cultish at the very least?

Orwell and Lee for being on the school curriculum.

>Finnegans’ Wake
>s'

Lord of the Rings is the only book with a decent shout but I wouldn't include it in my top ten.

you realize these polls aren't representative because objectivists and scientologists always come and stuff the ballot box on these things

this again?

>this list

>three L Ron Hubbard books
>four Ayn Rand books

Both have literal cult followings

>ayn rand

Did the ron paul weekly news letter make this list?

This is from the Modern Library "reader" (it apparently got flooded with rand and hubbard bots) poll, the one ML did themselves is obviously much better.

literal and deliberate meme
