If you said that to me in person I would elbow you in the fucking throat

genealogical method is good, conclusions are shit

Beyond good and evil

but you wont get it haha

stupid pleb

this fuckin thread again...

He's usually disregarded as 'edgy' on Veeky Forums for various reasons. Probably due to the fact that he was honestly anti-Christianity, whereas presently we find 'cultural Christianity' undergoing a sort of renaissance: due to 'atheism' having made itself socially toxic for Veeky Forums aficionados, due to 'Pop Atheists/Atheism' and its associations with all things LGBT.

On a broader note, any sort of moral/cultural relativism is likewise hated on Veeky Forums: where, due to 'degeneracy', many people now take refuge in moral/cultural conservatism that espouses and proclaims some sort of objective truth and standards of which they happen to have the monopoly. Nietzsche declared such relativism in a very real sense (replacing Good/Evil with Pain/Pleasure, Noble/Ignoble/etc)

Oh so you're an angsty underage

If you read his lectures on education, you'd find he'd be the one elbowing you in the fucking throat - if you didn't start with the Greeks.

He basically argues that there is no true/higher culture without the Greeks/Romans.

>red pill

just save yourself some time and read the will to power

Christianity renaissance??? Fuck man I was off Veeky Forums for a day and now we have this shit going on

This book, but get the full version of Beyond Good & Evil too for once you get to that point, and Geneaology of Morals

>Red pill me
Kill yourself.

no u

...

>hasn't read Nietzsche
>probably hasn't even read the Greeks

Ignore all these dumbfucks and just jump right into The Gay Science. The first few passages in BYGE, and those around passage 32, might do ya some good as well.

Just read him with this context in mind: Fuck binaries. Fuck weak dogma. Fuck complacency.

summer Veeky Forums for you

he was anti cultural Christianity and pop atheism user.

he's seen as prone to edgy fucks like you who only want to take one side when he explicitly says you're as bad as what you hate.

...

You start with Heraclitus.

shouldn't you be in /pol/ right now?

Exactly. Heraclitus, then Homer, then Plato, then Aristotle, then Machiavelli, Spinoza, Locke, Leibniz, Hume, Kant, Schopenhauer and Hegel.

Only then are you truly ready for the N-God.

jk just read Heraclitus and Plato then use secondary sources for everything else and you'll probably be fine.

Start at the start, read some Greek philosophy and then jump in to Birth of Tragedy, which should orient you towards what his beliefs are. If you don't understand him at that point, you will misinterpret all his other works.

You can google the greek references when you come to them, all you need to read is some plato/socrates things sinw Nietzsche was a pretty boss ancient greek philologist.

>Nietzsche is a very talented and very romantic German, genius empath, who read some english books and who comprehended (probably, for the first time in german history), how Englishmen think.
>Naturally, he went insane.

What conclusions?

His ideas on women and modern society were prescient.

He's basically a guidebook on how to survive the nu male ascendancy

He doesn't make much in terms of a normative statement with his philosophy, he's one of the purest critical thinkers.

If anything one could say he is a hyper-reactionary aristocratic individualist. He hated basically every ideology that developed after the Roman period. Christcuckoldry, liberalism, capitalism, socialism, anarchism, feminism, to him it was all just going back to Plato's memephysics where Truth > all in terms of importance in the grand scheme of things despite the fact that humans can't even begin to get at a facsimile of truth. Plato/Socrates represented a conquest of the Apollonian over the Dionysian and out of them comes Christianity which is beneath both ideals. Out of Christianity's understanding of the equality of souls comes all other understandings of equality, eventually ending in anarchy (a state where no man bothers to rule or be ruled, aka the belief system of all anarchies, nihilism).

Heraclitus is the first person who really develops the latter point (and is known as the weeping philosopher for his pessimism) but Nietzsche overcomes him by saying it's actually good that we cannot find truth. Truth is a constraint, truth is petty. Truth is nothing, a void, completely empty nihilism of value, nothing 'really' matters.

As such we shouldn't want truth but instead make our own beauty. For Nietzsche aesthetics are higher than truth.

I get squeamish every time I read the passage in Zarathustra about the last man. It hits too close to home when you look at society around you.

Start with the rye, end with the pie.

Nietzche was a sickly German pussy who romanticized power because he felt powerless
